The gang continued down the path when they suddenly caught view of a lake. A longer path led down to the lake. The water glistened in the sun. It was a sight to see, especially in the hot weather. Todd lugged along, carrying Relicanth with him, who seemed to be suffering even more even though it was being carried.

“Hey, Bryce,” Todd started.

“No.” Bryce replied abruptly. “We are not going to a lake or a hotel.”

“Hotel?” Todd replied. “What hotel?”

“Nothing.” Bryce answered. Todd looked around when he caught sight of Grand Valor Lake Hotel.

“Oh! Oh! Oh! Let’s go there! Please! Please! Please!”

“Alright!” Bryce continued. He was trying to act tough, but the truth is, he really could use a break. The gang headed to the enormous hotel that was Grand Lake Valor. It was quite relaxing. After a long journey, it seemed like a great place to just sit down and relax. Bryce and Todd headed to the receptionist’s desk. “We would like to order a room,” Bryce continued.

“A room? Let’s see. Sorry, no rooms available.”

“What?” Todd asked. “Surely there’s something available. There’s gotta be something available.” The receptionist looked at the computer again.

“On second thought, there is one room available.” He looked up. “But you’ll have to battle me for it.” A battle for a room? Bryce thought. “I just want to get some rest.” he said.

“No battle, no service.”

“Fine!” Bryce yelled, frustrated. “I’ll battle you!”

The receptionist stepped from behind the counter and grabbed a Pokeball from his pocket. “I’m really not supposed to be battling on the job,” he said. “So, let’s make this a simple 3-on-3 match.” He threw forth his first Pokémon. An overconfident-looking Buizel emerged from the flash of light produced by the Pokeball.

“Buizel!” The Pokémon said. Bryce chose his Roselia to battle for him. This Pokémon had proven its worth time and time again, though Bryce had initially thought it was useless. The Pokémon cried out, ready for battle.

“Alright, Roselia, let’s finish this quickly so that I can get some sleep. Use Mega Drain!” Both Roselia and Buizel started to glow. The receptionist watched as the energy was being drained from Buizel.

“Buizel, hurry and get out of that attack with Quick Attack!” Buizel rushed at Roselia and hit it dead on. Roselia was knocked back by the impact. The Pokémon got up as Bryce smiled. Buizel was started to look weaker and weaker by the second. The Pokémon fell down to its knees in agony. “Buizel! What’s going on!? Stop lying around and use Quick Attack again!” The receptionist yelled at an otherwise non-respondent Buizel.

“It can’t fight back.” Bryce said, “It’s poisoned. It’d be best if you called it back.”

“Argh!” The receptionist yelled. He recalled the Pokémon and grabbed another Pokeball from his pocket. “Go, Po…” He was stopped by a loud “Ahem!”

“What are you two doing in my hotel battling!?” A loud deep voice yelled. He turned to the receptionist. “And you, why aren’t you working!? We have lots of customers to attend to! Why, one customer complained to me that she’d lost her keys!” The receptionist yelled and ran back to his desk.

“He made me do it!” The receptionist said, pointing at Bryce. Oh great, Bryce thought. What a wimp!

The man with the deep voice turned towards Bryce. “Hello there, young man.” He said, “I see you have quite a competitive spirit in you. Welcome to Grand Valor Hotel! How may I help you?” Bryce nodded his head.

“My friend and I are looking for a room.” He replied.

“Mr. Thomas!” He yelled. Apparently he was talking to the receptionist. “Prepare a room for this young man. It’s the least you can do for forcing him to battle.”

“But sir, I didn’t force him to battle!”

The man continued, ignoring the receptionist’s pleas. “He does that to everyone. ‘You have to battle me!’ He always says. If he wasn’t my son, I’d get rid of him.” The man laughed. “At least he keeps the guests busy though.” He laughed with a deep, hearty chuckle. “Here is your key. You’re in Room 11. Enjoy your stay here.” Bryce thanked the man and went to his room. Todd eyed the pool and dropped the heavy Relicanth in, much to the dismay of guest, who rushed out of the pool yelling “That giant fish is gonna eat us!” He stayed near the pool and went for a swim himself. Way to exaggerate, Bryce thought. Bryce went to his room and got in his bed.

Another crazy day in the adventures of Bryce and Todd, he thought. He looked out the room to see that Todd’s Snorlax had jumped into the pool, emptying it of all of the water. “Make that misadventures, he said as he turned and went to sleep.

I'm usually on AIM between 3 PM and 4 PM my time - times will likely change in the summer, though.
I'd be most interested in reffing on the forum.
To get on AIM, I often have to use AOL mail, so I can't go into any groups besides blast chats.

 

if i feel i am capable, is it possible for me to take the referee test without signing up to this???? Only really asking this because not many refs are in my time zone (usually GMT, but currently GMT+1)

 

That is sooo me! I have memorized the stat formula, type matchups, every pokemon's types, pretty much all move power accuracy and effect, and a good deal of base stats and such! I also am good at finding and correcting mistakes and amazing at math.

Yeah, it's perfectly okay for you to take the ref test without participating over here. The tutoring program provides easy-to-find help; it's not a requirement.

 

I've already posted a signup thing here, but I would like to know when the next classes will be. I'm unavailable this weekend because my brother has some choir thing we have to travel to, but I am available at any other time specified on my registration post.
