Exhibition Matches

I had a vague idea and then forgot it a long time ago. And then Harry came in to the chat today and brought it up after there was a gym match in the blast chat. The basic idea was that URPG nominates people to battle in exhibition matches for public entertainment. And... that's about it. I suppose things such as frequency would need to be discussed, but there really wouldn't need to be much other than willing members, I suppose.

So I guess those are my thoughts on the matter. Which aren't really much, because at the moment the idea is pretty simple. But it could be cool and stuff, so yeah.

 

I definitely think this would be a fun idea. We have a lot of skilled and interesting URPG members and I bet we could see a ton of fun matches with this idea.

We could even probably suggest some unique ideas. Like having the Champion play six different matches at the same time or an Elite 4 Double Battle. There are many possibilities and we're a creative bunch.

 

I like the idea as well. But we are already doing this a lot these days (not the nominating part, though). A lot of times, we ask to get invited to a chat room just to watch a fellow URPGer battle a gym leader. It's fun really. We did that just on the 21st - Chainy battling, uh, Nitro.. Yeah, good fight. The dice definitely hated Chainy loved Nitro. XD

EDIT: Just thought of something. So these exhibition matches, could they be gym battles too? ('coz I was assuming they would be) And, if so, say the challlenger wins, would he/she get the gym TM and badge?

 

Sure, this'd be fun - it'd be a good way for people to pick up battling skills too. Perhaps there could be some small incentive, like each battler gets an extra 1000 for battling? Not required, but it'd probably bring in the masses xD

 

I agree with Chainy, if this happened then I think the battlers, but most importantly the ref, should get some extra cash. We all know how annoying it is to ref when people won't stfu.

 

I'm definitely on board with this idea. It's fun to have an audience when battling.

I'd actually be willing to ref that one instead of falling asleep while reffing E4 matches. Literally. Three times.

Gambling on exhibition matches?!? I'm even more on board. I doesn't even have to be on who wins/loses. We could gamble on other things too. Will a crit happen? Will they smack from confusion?

Yeah! We could do "who will the dice love/hate in this match"? Or, will it flinch? etc. Oh,and, "What will the ref put as a description of the battle in his/her log?" (kudos if you get the battle I'm referring to XD)

 

Now you guys are going wild. I think people talked about this once and it was said that no betting would be done then. Besides, you guys should concentrate on whether they get done in the first place.​

 

Definitely like this idea, although I think getting them to say yes to betting might be a long shot, judging from previous attempts. Still, it'd be a fun thing to try out, and it would help spark more battles. People are still a little busy right now, but I think something more creative than just straight forward battling might pique their interest.
