Somehow I haven't judged a Master Tough until now hahaha. Lots of CM control as is common in RSE contests. Metagross made a spectacular read in Round 2 with a combo based startle on Donphan, leaving Donphan significantly behind the others. Metagross continued its reads with a same-attribute bonus move in Round 3, putting it at a clear advantage above the competition. Unfortunately, it lost its lead in Round 4 by going for another same-attribute startle instead of setting up for the final round or trying to maximize its score. A huge CM boosted copy half in Round 4 by Growlithe let it replace Metagross as the clear leader. Even without a +8/-0 move nothing was able to catch up in Round 5.

Froslass broke out of its Powder Snow Blizzard combo to lock the CM, but followed up with a startle instead of a copy, probably either expecting another CM lock or a copy half from the fourth appealer. Neither happened, leading to Froslass falling behind Aurorus and Gardevoir. Aurorus being in first position at CM 4 in Round 5 guaranteed it victory. Gardevoir going for a copy instead of a +8/-0 let it get startled from second to third.
