Pretty close contest for the most part, but a CM bomb screwed over Starmie and Misdreavus's Confuse Rays threw off the results a bit. A 2 off of Morning Sun didn't help Silk. Starmie recovered from the CM bomb with a Trick Room to avoid the Confuse Ray and a rule boosted same attribute Skill Swap.

My first ORAS contest is the same rank and attribute as my first contest ever, how fitting. Hail + Blizzard was an amazing combo that could only have been possible with the new rules. Despite the CM staying at 3, nobody used a CM doubler, but they didn't really have time to go out and buy one, and none of the Pokemon entered were capable of using them. For the record, Grassy Terrain, Misty Terrain, and Origin Pulse are the Beauty first position CM doublers.

It's very entertaining to see everyone make do with their limited movepools, it reminds me of contests ~8 months ago when everyone was grasping the ropes of the newly revived section. The only Pokemon to use a CM doubler was Victreebel, who misused Sucker Punch in 4th position.

Sylveon took a risk in round 3 by lowering the CM, which paid off by starting round 4 in fourth position at CM 4, positioning itself for a huge copy, but Gardevoir not going for the CM boost and Beheeyem using a failed Psych Up threw off what should have been a huge play for it. In general the whole contest was a copy fest, Smart appears to be the ORAS version of RSE Cute.

An excellent contest that could've only happened in ORAS. Everyone had to keep making reads as to whether or not the first appealers would go for a CM Doubler, and Lucario went for it round 4, letting the copy chain send it to a perfect fourth position for round 5. Sylveon predicted itself getting a CM boost round 5, but its incompatible moves in previous rounds meant that its read only brought it to second place. Very close and entertaining contest.
