I agree with Monbrey sort of. I feel having the same mon on your lineup more than once should only be allowed if you at least own one copy of the mon. (Rotom excluded since each form is different sort of)

Otherwise I could rent 4 Aerodactyls and I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't be happy with that

I agree as well. Although with the right mon, duplicates can be taken out easily but to newer players can be a problem. But if you do not actually own the mon, as Ebail stated earlier, you shouldn't be allowed two of the same mons unless there owned. I'd be all for it if you did. Example: Xali has two jolteons HP Grass and HP Ice. Both are vital to his line up.I believe only one mon should be duplicated but you have to own that mon.

I so agree with everyone but I should rent 4 Rotom cause I want new formes and stuff. But yeah, having two Kingdra, without owning any really does screw up a lot of people. Kingdra only has one weakness, Dragon. Now, it can handle most if not all Dragon types with it's own Dragon moves or Ice moves. Most of the time Kingdra is taken down through a combination of luck, skill and sacrifice. Having two is a nightmare to handle and the fact that the Leader doesn't own even one, it's a bit of a slap to the face. Also, Bronzong and Rotom are a similar case. Although, having two Rotom is cool :cheers:

Btw, is Volbeat or Illumise an acceprable Electric WC? Michievous Heart would be nice to have albeit situational.

I'd just like to point out a few things.
First: Most pokemon are terrible without TMs, and it is very expensive to TM them...
Second: Some types have a lot more choices than others as far as pokemon go...
Third: Many gym leaders or even Elite Four members (and Lance as champion) in the games use duplicates...

Things have worked so far. If a rule does need to be made, I'd say that you are only allowed to have one duplicate. But, it is whatever.

Also, don't single out just Kingdra. Other thingss are abusable.

People bashing Kingdra? I MUST DEFEND.

Actually, in all seriousness, I think it's unfair to rent duplicates. Renting one, perhaps, but like people before me have said, renting four extra somethings that wreck shit would really, really suck and would be easily abused.

I'll use the Kingdra example. Sure, I could rent myself four extra Kingdra and run five Kingdra in the rain. Granted, that can be easily remedied when people weather troll me with stuff like TTar, which also has nifty access to annoying crap like Outrage <which 2HKO's no matter how you cut it>. So technically, there's always a way around any mon. I know from experience that Kingdra in Sandstorm, as Ash's Kingdra so often is (are), kinda suck and are easily countered. Granted, we can't all weather troll, and he can find a way around that by leading with auto-rain and forgoing his on TTar... leading to more abuse. However, Kingdra can easily be killed. (My personal favorite is hitting it with Toxic and then spamming Recover with something like Milotic, and watching as you end up gaining more health than Kingdra can inflict damage... or while he cries like a noob and spams Smokescreen... whatever floats your boat). So, point being, you can kill stuff that's broken, but that doesn't make it any less broken. I'd totally back something banning duplicate rentals, if my opinion actually counted for anything. ^.^

Oh, and one more thing:

We'll take your Kingdra for example, cause that's the one who's been mentioned the most. You've got HP, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse (Free Gym TM, and a level up), and maybe a couple of others such as Rain Dance and Substitute... I don't really know and I don't have time to look it up. XD However, you've got the essentials for a decent Kingdra on there... you'd really only Ice Beam and Rain Dance, and HP cause you were lucky enough to get a useful one. Point being, that'll cost you about 21K, tops, if you're not into extra things like Protect or Flash Cannon. Since you can't even put your rentals in Daycare, that doesn't even come into the equation. Depending on how much you actually use Kingdra (which, when you run 6v6's, ends up being every. single. frickin. match), you'll get your money back in 21 losses, or 12 wins, or some combination of the two. That's not too bad considering you obtained Kingdra for no effort, in the first place. And if you're someone like Monbrey... XD
And:

Yeah, gotta sympathize with you there. No sarcasm. But you've access to six FE Dragon types (Mence, Nite, Chomp, Flygon, Kingdra, and Altaria), and then you've also got access to two WC, courtesy of the League. That's twice as many WC's as the rest of us get. And anywho, Dragon Establishments have been around in the URPG for a long time, and they seem to be doing absolutely fine without abusing rentals.

Champion Lance? You mean the Dragon Master, who was introduced in Generation I when there was exactly one fully evolved Dragon Type? And then the other times that he was recreated, he maintained his team for a semblance of continuity between Generation I and II <and the subsequent remakes>? Oh, yes, that's an excellent point. XD
But really. Gym Leaders and E4 members tend to have parties limited to Pokemon of one type from a one generation. You'll notice that their teams become a lot more diverse in nifty things such as rematches, when they have access to multiple generations and whatnot.

And, in lieu with what Haze said... unboosted Outrage from Dragonite also OHKO's... as does nearly any SD boosted move from Garchomp <who's also faster>, as does SD boosted Groundon's Dragon Claw with Sandstorm damage... but the last example was a troll. XD

Posting to say Dragon Dance Salamence DDs on Kingdra then OHKOs it while Ice Beam/Dragon Pulse or even Draco Meteor fail to do the same so it's not that uncounterable.

Also having multiple rents of the same Pokemon is stupid

ITS TWO KINGDRAS! With planning and some luck, yes not really much of an issue to deal with two kingdras but just the mere fact that you don't even own one opts you shouldn't have one. Dragons barely have weakness's aside from ice or dragon. It think the matter at hand is of course you CAN have a duplicate of a dragon, but doesn't mean you SHOULD. Honestly you don't even own a Kingdra so you shouldn't have two as a rental. I just view that as being greedy. One would be fine but two is overkill. It's understandable you want to protect your dojo, everybody wants too. But using a duplicate of 1.)A mon you dont have and 2.)A difficult mon to take down, just seems wrong in my eyes.

I've found that having two Infernapes has somewhat cheapened the whole thing anyway. I'm thinking of dropping the old one.

As such, I guess that means the SECOND most TM'd Infernape in the URPG is UFT ^.^
