The doldrums rolled in on December like the bitter cold winds of the north. With barely enough energy to survive the isolated times, the people longed for some activity to raise their spirits. And then the call came.

There was once a Trainer who wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was before. Months he spent seeking out the elusive elite, the four who impeded his path to victory. Through hard-fought battles and patient hunting, he never stopped working toward that elusive, once-thought-omniscient one in the sky.

Without hearing from their champion for months, the people worried. But then the challenger made the call to his former role-model. The champion answered.

Let the mons be fierce and the dice be fair.

And so they did battle.

The dice were actually pretty decent, surprisingly. Nothing missed or got a bad extra effect. It was pretty standard until turn 5, in which Pidge's Espeon swapped in on a Knock Off from Mamoswine and then was KO'd by Bulldoze. Whimsicott caused some stally problems for a while after that, until Murkrow got in and Tailwinded on a Protect, leaving Jolteon to swap in to take a Taunt. Then both Aerodactyl and Mamoswine swapped in. Ash did the risky play and sent Blaziken in on Aero's Stealth Rock, forcing a switch the next turn, since Aero had been tricked a Choice Scarf earlier.

Things took a turn in Ash's favor after that, as Blaziken got up a Swords Dance on the switch to Jolteon, letting it KO Jolt next. Then Whim went down, since it was able to outspeed priority an Encore. Then, Togekiss came in. Not trusting the Stone Edge that would leave Kiss with 6 HP (which was probably wise , considering my dice), he used Thunder Punch, which let Kiss get a Yawn off. However, Blaze Baton Passed out to Espeon as Kiss used Psych Up. After a Protect, Stored Power no longer KO'd the fairy, so after one good hit, Espeon went down to a combination of Silver Wind and Extremespeed.

Fable came in next, prioritizing getting up Rocks. Endeavor brought Fable down, but Red Card sent Blaziken in. It Mega Evolved and took down Fable with a Poison Jab. Then, it took down Murkrow next, but not after being paralyzed by Thunder Wave. That let Salamence come in, and that was the beginning of the end since MegaMence is so scary. Aero came in to take the Return, but a Dragon Claw KO'd after that when Rock Slide didn't KO and didn't flinch. MegaMence finished off MegaBlaze with return, and Stealth Rocks finished Kiss when it was sent in.

Great moves on both their parts. Was a fun battle to ref. Good game!

There was also a fully paralyzed roll that didn't matter. Regardless, Ash had a few better type match-ups. Rapidash was KO'd by Perish Song while Kingdra took a nap in the end.
