It came down to Blaziken VS. Gardevoir, the latter whom had managed to Trace Protean but was left at approximately half health after taking a Protean Acrobatics from Greninja. Gardevoir managed to win the speed tie on the final decisive turn but Hypnosis missed instead, allowing Flare Blitz to KO ftw.

(Gym Leader) Ash K.: Charizard, Hawlucha, Talonflame, Altaria(Mega)
(Challenger) Nitro: Rotom-W, Politoed, Jolteon, Gengar(Mega)

Battle started out with Politoed switching in to a Solar Beam fired off by Charizard to activate Drizzle weather. On the second turn when Solar Beam was being fired, Politoed got a Atk/SpAtk/SpDef+2 boost by activating its Weakness Policy and using Amensia. Hawlucha was later switched in as Charizard was Encored, and Weakness Policy was activated again, this time on Hawlucha. This was where I learned Unburden is a hidden boost. Anyway, Nitro switched in Jolteon to absorb the Acrobatics and to force out Hawlucha with its Red Card. Talonflame was forced in, and Ash made it hold a Wacan Berry so that it could fend off the super effective Electric-type attacks. Talonflame ate a Volt Switch, and then U-turned away from the incoming Rotom-W. Altaria with its Altarianite was sent in to face off with Rotom-W, but had its Dragon Dance Snatched away on the first turn. Rotom-W however, couldn't do much damage still and went for a Thunder Wave while Mega Altaria tried a Pixilate Return which did about 47% damage. Next turn, Mega Altaria went for the same move but was fully paralyzed instead. A couple turns later, after performing Draco Meteor, it managed to Power Swap the SpAtk-2 away and received Rotom-W's Atk+1. Mega Altaria was going to Refresh its paralysis status away, so Nitro went for a Volt Switch to Gengar. Talonflame was quickly switched in right before Gengar Mega Evolved and was down to critical health after eating a Sludge Wave. Nitro tried to do some setting up with Substitute and Hypnosis, but the latter was stopped by a Tailwinded Taunt. Next turn, Talonflame went with an Acrobatics, but Nitro made a mistake by opting for Sucker Punch when Tailwind was still in play. Politoed was then switched in while Talonflame started to set up with Swords Dance. A Gale Wings aided Acrobatics easily finished off the slightly weakened Politoed from earlier, and Rotom-W was sent back in. Upon seeing that the battle was pretty much over with Atk+2 Gale Wings Talonflame, Nitro went for the forfeit.
