Welcome to the Winter Writing Competition!

BRR BRR! It's finally here! On your frosted porch steps sits an opportunity iced in so clear a sheen you saw your future: success, eternal glory, and a Legendary Pokemon all in the name of the Winter Writing Competition. The competition threatens to burn straight through your heart and you begin flailing, right in front of the Cubchoo who somehow own a Gingerbread house across from you. But don't you fear. This competition's bound to be COLD, but you gotta stay cool. Money, Pokemon, and the respect of all your fellow writers hangs in the balance! There's spectacular prizes on the horizon, for voters and writers alike. Let's dive deeper! WELCOME TO THE WINTER WRITING COMPETITION!

Entry Guidelines​

​

• You may submit a story from January 1st to 11:59 P.M. CST January 31st; any story posted before or after this time frame will be deemed ineligible for this competition.
• You may write as many stories as you wish! However, you may only submit one story into the WWC. Please put WWC somewhere in your thread title for grader convenience.
• Your entry can be no longer than 150,000 characters.
• You must be a member of the URPG to participate in the WWC. If you're not a URPGer yet, go sign up! We'd love for you to participate!

Voting​

Once the submission window closes, I'll be dividing the stories into a number of rounds. There's a 3k prize just for voting in one round! Here's a bit more about voting: ​

• 
  [*=left]You must be a member of the URPG to vote.
  [*=left]When voting, vote for your favorite story within the round, and not your favorite person. Winners of this competition should be selected by the depth of creativity and talent featured in the story, not by the person.
  [*=left]If your story is featured in a round, you can still vote! In fact, you'll get an extra three points for voting in the round your story is featured in! What's not allowed is voting for yourself. That'd be awkward.
  [*=left]Voters will receive 3k for voting, claimable at the end of that round. There might be a special prize for those who vote in all the rounds!
  [*=left]Voting time frame and total rounds will be announced once the submission window closes. There will be preliminary rounds, and then a final round!
  [*=left]When voting, send me a private message with the stories you liked the best in that round, with 1 being your favorite story and 3 being your least favorite story in that round. The story that has the highest combined tally in that round will win that round!
  [*=left]Include a two-sentence summary of the story in your private message. For those who like seeing examples, here's a cute example!

Prizes​

1st Place: a temporary Legendary Pokemon or Demanding Pokemon of your choosing and $10,000! oh baby!

2nd Place: a Complex Pokemon of your choosing and $8,000!

3rd Place: a Hard Pokemon of your choosing and $5,000!

Here we are again. The talent here is absolutely incredible. There are no words to express how phenomenal each of the authors in this competition are. There is only creativity and a craft made of genuine love. Let's begin.

First of all, remember that there is no editing your submitted story until either after the competition or after your round (if you do not make it through to the next round). This has been an unspoken rule since the competition began, but I thought it would be useful to reiterate now. Additionally, please review the first post for updated prizes, and also review the first post for voting procedures. You may private message me on any of the three forums.
