A sagacious Slowpoke stirred his iced tea with his peppermint. With great insight, he looked far into the future, into a time when summer and winter shall become one. The polarized seasons shall heat up simultaneously and inspire those of both periods. With this thought, the excited Slowpoke donned his little red hat and began writing! He wrote for the competition that promised him eternal fame, glory, and the respect of all his fellow Slowpoke fam! He reveled in the idea of a Legendary Pokemon to call his own and avidly wrote, wrote, wrote! He started a few centuries ago and sent in his lovely story today. Do YOU have the courage to face off against this lovely creature for the title of the Summer Writing Competition winner?! You're certainly never too cool for this and never too hot, either - the temperature's just right to feel VICTORY! Welcome to the Summer Writing Competition!

Entry Guidelines​

​

• You may submit a story from June 1st to June 30th at 11:59 P.M. PST; any story posted before or after this time frame will be deemed ineligible for this competition.
• You may write as many stories as you wish! However, you may only submit one story into the SWC. Please put SWC somewhere in your thread title for grader convenience.
• Your entry can be no longer than 150,000 characters.
• You must be a member of the URPG to participate in the SWC. If you're not a URPGer yet, go sign up! We'd love for you to participate!

Voting​

Once the submission window closes, I'll be dividing the stories into a number of rounds. There's a 3k prize just for voting in one round! Here's a bit more about voting: ​

  [*=left]You must be a member of the URPG to vote. Sign up here to become a URPGer!
  [*=left]When voting, vote for your favorite story within the round, not necessarily your favorite person. Winners of this competition should be selected by the depth of creativity and talent featured in the story, not by personality popularity ratings.
  [*=left]If your story is featured in a round, you can still vote! In fact, you'll get an extra three points for voting in the round your story is featured in! What's not allowed is voting for yourself. That'd be too awkward.
  [*=left]Voters will receive 3k for voting, claimable at the end of that round. There's something special for those who vote in every single round!
  [*=left]Voting time frame and total rounds will be announced once the submission window closes. There will be preliminary rounds, and then a final round!
  [*=left]When voting, send me a private message with the stories you liked the best in that round, with 1 being your favorite story and 3 being your least favorite story in that round. The story that has the highest combined tally in that round will win that round!
  [*=left]Include a two-sentence summary of the story in your private message. For those who like seeing examples, here's a cute example!

heuheu thank you Winter <333 But this was actually Harry's really good idea! He did the work also of finding the past winners so they could share their stories. I just wish we could have the ones from Pe2k, but being able to have all the stories going forward is so exciting!

Thanks for putting this up for reference, Love ^^ Here was the prize table last year based on the number of potential entries. As per usual though, nothing is ever set in stone, so we'll see what happens this year! ALSO, I HOPE TO SEE YOU ENTER TOO, YOUNG SIR.

HELLO beautiful Earth people and WELCOME to the first round of voting for your 2015 Summer Writing Competition! This competition's bound to be loads of fun! We've got some new writers who've made good on their promise to deliver quality work and some veteran writers dishing out their excellence too! Today's the day and NOW's the moment to decide the fate of this competition! But first, a few friendly reminders!

This competition is now locked, so you cannot edit your story until after the competition ends or after your round (if your story doesn't make it to the final round). The prize table has been edited in the first post, and also refer to that first post to learn more about voting.

* hi everyone! I'd just like to make a note here clarifying that Elysia's story was complete before the deadline. Her story had accidentally been cut off, but she has added the rest of the story that was originally there, and only that. Seppe and Felly can confirm that her story had indeed been completed before the deadline!
