Individual RP: Gmandiddy

Buzz scrolled through the Trainer sign ups to the Park. Hmm, this one looks interesting Mount Deckbi. I haven’t had the chance to go up there. Buzz pressed the intercom on the phone to the receptionist, “Hi there, has anyone claimed the Mt. Deckbi trip yet?” Buzz asked.


“No, you want to take it?” The receptionist’s muffled voice replied.

“Yeah I’ll take him,” Buzz said releasing the intercom. “Joe Smith, eh?” He chuckled. He lowered his hands to his belt plucking the red and white Poke Ball. He pressed the central button and from the tiny capsule erupted a green bird. It had long white wings with red tips.

“Xat, Xatu!” The Pokemon said as it fluttered to the floor of the office.

“Hey River, we’ve got another Trainer wanting to go round the National Park. It’s up to Mount Deckbi today. Let’s hope we get to see some cool Pokemon,” Buzz said to the bird as he began to pack emergency supplies in his back pack. He threw in some Poke Doll’s and Potions along with some other useful items just in case. He checked his belt for his Pokemon and he held his arm out causing River Tam, the Xatu, to fly onto his shoulder. Everything packed and ready to go, he left the office.

After locking his door Buzz crossed the Ranger’s headquarters to sign himself out at the front desk, then he and River Tam left the rather quiet headquarters and stood outside waiting for his trainer.

“You think you are up for teleporting us both when he gets here, River?”

“Xat!” The Xatu called out.

"We are going to be late" Joe said as he was running down the lane towards the Ranger Headquarters. Running beside his was his faithful companion Romulus, a very energetic Infernape. In the distance Joe could see some buildings appearing over the horizon. "Not far now" Joe said to Romulus, who was trying to catch up with Joe. Joe had been waiting for this day for ages and also had been training to preform brilliant combo-nations to outwit his opponents.

5 minutes later, Joe reached the Ranger Headquarters with Infernape walking behind him and walked up towards the front desk. "Hello, I am Joe Smith, I was wondering where I could meet my ranger who will lead me through Mt. Deckbi" asked Joe to the young blonde who was sitting at the front desk. She started to look through some papers and finally found a piece of paper that read 'Mt. Deckbi - Joe Smith - signed by Buzz'

"Yeah you will be accompanied by Jonathan Busby but he likes to be called Buzz. He is waiting for you outside" replied the young women who was sorting out the pieces of paper.

"Thank You" said Joe as he left the front desk and headed towards the exit of the building.

Joe looked outside and noticed a young man, who looked about six foot tall, and brown hair hidden away by a beanie hat. He was wearing a T-Shirt and jeans. Joe also noticed a green bird with long white wings perching on the young man shoulder. Joe walked up to the young man and asked "Are you Jonathan Busby? I am Joe Smith and this is Rominus my faithful companion" pointing towards the Infernape who was trying to chase butterflies.

Buzz leant against the brick wall just outside the Ranger Headquarters. River Tam was still sat upon his shoulders as Buzz waited for his trainer. Then in a whirl of dust the blurred image of a boy rushed into the Headquarters. Followed swiftly by a blazing trail of fire, caused by what looked to Buzz like an Infernape, made Xatu flap violently in surprise. I wonder if that was Joe, maybe I should go in after them. Nah, they'll be back soon enough. Buzz thought standing up from the wall as the dust settled.

It transpired that Buzz was right, when moments later the glass door to the headquarters swung open and the boy with the Infernape reappearred looking around. Upon spotting Buzz, he walked over to him asking "Are you Jonathan Busby?"

"Yeah that's me, but call me Buzz. This is River Tam," Buzz replied pointing at the Xatu on his shoulder then offering his hand out to be shook.

"I'm Joe Smith, and this is Romulus my faithful companion." Joe said pointing at the Infernape who had taken to chasing some butterflies. Buzz chuckled at this.

"Well I guess we are off to Mount Deckbi today then. Now we could travel by Jeep, but naturally that would take a some time. There is an alternative though I could just ask River, here, to Teleport us over to the outpost at the foot of the Mount." Buzz said cheerfully. "I warn you that Teleporting can be a little strange if you have never done it before, and you may want to put Romulus back in its Poke Ball to make it easier. The choice is yours?"

"Yeah that's me, but call me Buzz. This is River Tam," Buzz replied pointing at the Xatu on his shoulder then offering his hand out to be shook.

I shook his hand and then noticed Buzz laughing at the Infernape trying to catch Butterflies, I smiled as well.

"Well I guess we are off to Mount Deckbi today then. Now we could travel by Jeep, but naturally that would take a some time. I had never Teleported before however I had read books about how strange it was but I guess if it is the quickest way to reach reach Mt. Deckbi then I have no choice. I grabbed Romulus's pokeball and pointed towards Infernape, who was still trying to catch butterflies, and pressed the little white button on the pokeball. A bright red beam hit Infernape and then he disappeared into the ball.

"I am ready to go now sir" I said to Buzz.

Joe shook Buzz's hand and smiled at his companion. Joe looked as if he was contemplating whether to Teleport or not. Buzz waited patiently and quickly did one last check that he had everything in his backpack. He looked up as a red beam of energy sparked from the Poke Ball withdrawing Romulus.

"I am ready to go now, sir," Joe said.

"Haha, you don't need to call me sir. Buzz is fine," Buzz chuckled happily. "Well then I guess we better head off, no point in standing around here all day. You want to get some Pokemon don't you! River, you know what to do. Joe, just close your eyes and it will be over in a few moments." River hopped from Buzz's shoulder and flapped down to the ground between the two. It then began to glow in a purple light as it raised and lowered its wings. Then all three vanished from where they stood.

Buzz was so used to Teleportation he barely noticed it anymore, but he remembered what it was like the first time. The awful feeling of being squeezed through a tube that is just too small, the utter darkness as you were hurtled through Space-time. It was generally not a pleasant experience and nausia was common for first time. Buzz had thrown up for twenty minutes after his first try with River Tam, though she was a Natu back then and could only teleport large objects a short distance.

Soon a bright light hit Buzz's eyes and a huge field was behind him and Joe. In front was Mount Deckbi, it was a remarkable sight. A huge sandy mountain, with sandstorms often raging the higher you go, the red and grey stones hiding all sorts of desert type Pokemon. It was at these moments Buzz truly marvelled at his place of work. He knew there could be no better job.

A pile of earth seemed to be upturned in the path in front of him, it was moving at a good speed when a armoured tail poked out from beneath the soil. This was shortly followed by the small body of a Sandshrew. It had obviously surfaced to bask in the sunlight of this fine day.

"Hey, little fella!" Buzz said happily. The sandshrew was startled by the two humans who had appeared before it, then Pokemon's natural curiousity got the better of it and it began to roll towards the pair. it sniffed at Buzz's feet and began talking in Pokemon language to River. "Well Joe, it's a friendly little guy, what do you say? Want to catch a Sandshrew."

"Haha, you don't need to call me sir. Buzz is fine," Buzz chuckled happily, it was nice that I had a friendly Ranger. "Well then I guess we better head off, no point in standing around here all day. You want to get some Pokemon don't you! River, you know what to do. Joe, just close your eyes and it will be over in a few moments."

I listen to Buzz and closed my eyes with the picture of the Ranger's Headquarters stuck in my mind. Suddenly I felt like I was flying through the air but I didn't want to open my eyes and see what it was like. The feeling of flying and you don't know where your going makes you feel sick. I could be going somewhere I don't know or I could be abducted. I put all my trust in Buzz he seems a nice guy. Within a few seconds I could feel my feet touching the ground. I slowly opened my eyes to revel a huge sand mountain ahead of me with sandstorm raging as you get closer to the peak.

Ahead of us was a pile of upturned earth and the closer I got to the mound of earth I noticed a small golden coloured tail. Then a Sandshrew appeared from the soil. I remember one of friends used to say that Sandshrew and Pikachu are both alike as in they are mouse Pokemon.

"Well Joe, what do you say? Want to catch a Sandshrew." Buzz asked me.

"It looks very happy as it is, I wouldn't want to remove it from it's natural habitat" replied Joe.

Joe reached for his belt and grabbed a Pokeball and threw it in the air. The ball bounced on the floor and a Flame Monkey appeared from flash that came from the ball.

"Ready to go Exploring Rominus" I asked Infernape, who then nodded it's head in agreement

Buzz laughed as the small yellow armadillo rolled around River who fluttered just above the ground.

"It looks very happy as it is, I wouldn't want to remove it from its natural habitat," Joe said.

"Ok, well little guy we shall leave you to enjoy this nice clear day," Buzz said to the Sandshrew, who proceeded to burrow back underground and reappeared by a rock a few metres back down the slope. Then Joe released Romulus from his Poke Ball, who nodded when asked if he wanted to go exploring. At this Buzz grabbed River's Poke Ball off his belt and returned her, then set off up the path away from the Sandshrew.

"So was Romulus your starter, you two look quite in synch?" Buzz asked as they walked up the sandy path. "You haven't met my starter, Electro. He's an Electivire. Maybe I'll let him out later so you can meet him."

The continued up the path for a short while, when they happened upon a small holl in the side of the mountain that looked as if it lead to a cave.

"Well we could either go in the cave or carry on up the path?" Buzz asked. "You know what I have a good feeling about carrying on in the open air for a while. There are plenty of caves later on." Buzz continued and began to walk on up the gradual slope, looking out for more Pokemon.

Suddenly there was a loud crack and small rocks flew everywhere from behind Buzz and Joe. Onto the path burst a dark purple winged Pokemon. its arms crossed across its body. A large pointed stinger raised above its head while its yellow eyes stared at the pair.

"GLISCOR!" It yelled as the pair turned around to the noise.

"Well there we go, what do you say to battling a Gliscor?" Buzz asked brushing away the rocks that had covered his T-shirt and staring at the large hole in the side of the Mountain next to the entrance to the Cave.

"Ok, well little guy we shall leave you to enjoy this nice clear day," Buzz said to the Sandshrew, who the proceed down into the tunnel and appeared a couple of meters away beside another rock. I looked across to Romulus who seemed to be normal and just standing there looking into the sky. "I could of picked a better starter than this" I said under my breath so it wouldn't hurt Infernape's feelings. However truth be told the times I have had with Romulus have been great and rewarding as we have grown together as partners but sometimes I do wonder what he I thinking about.

"So was Romulus your starter, you two look quite in synch?" Buzz asked as they walked up the sandy path. "You haven't met my starter, Electro. He's an Electivire. Maybe I'll let him out later so you can meet him."

"Yeah Romulus is my starter, I remember the time I received him.
It was a rainy day and I was hurrying back home after collecting the groceries when I noticed a Chimchar having a fight with some Gligar's in a dark alleyway. It looked like the Chimchar had been hurt as it had scratches all over it's body. I couldn't help but help the poor defenseless Chimchar. I dropped the groceries and ran down the alleyway towards the injured Chimchar. However before I reached the Chimchar a blast of flames erupted from its tail. The heat of the flames hit my face and it felt like I was in a oven. The Chimchar looked very angry and let out a terrifying cry. I looked across at the Gligar's and saw that they weren't backing down and one of them flew towards Chimchar. Before Gligar could touch the Chimchar, Chimchar unleashed a powerful Flamethrower attack which looked a lot more powerful than your average Flamethrower. The flamethrower hit the flying Gligar and sent crashing into the ground. The Gligar were afraid of this new power and fled into the rainy sky. I hurried to the Chimchar and picked him up and said to him "Your going to be all right, trust me." From then on I took Chimchar into my care and looked after him and trained him up to be the best. Wow I must have rambled on, wow" I said as I looked down in shame, he must be bored by that life story.

We walked ahead and noticed the path split into two different paths. One leading to a dark cave and the other continuing up the mountain.

"Well we could either go in the cave or carry on up the path?" Buzz asked. "You know what I have a good feeling about carrying on in the open air for a while. There are plenty of caves later on."

"Sounds good" I said as I followed Buzz up the gradual slope ahead of us. I began to wonder what Pokemon I would encounter. I really wanted to see a Hippopotas as I loved how they snort out dust and evolve into a brilliant ground type. However there was one Pokemon on my mind and that was a Gligar. After explaining how I met Chimchar all I could think about was Gligar's.

Suddenly some rocks, from above, fell onto Buzz and I and a purple winged Pokemon flew out from above us with its arms folded. A large pointed stinger raised above its body and its yellow eyes glared at the pair, then it gave an intimidating cry.

"GLISCOR!" It yelled as the pair turned around to the noise.

"Well there we go, what do you say to battling a Gliscor?" Buzz asked as he was brushing down the rocks that fell on him.

"Wow a Gliscor, that's the evolution of Gligar, a Pokemon I really wanted" I said in amazement and then looked across to Romulus who seemed to be psyched up and nodded at me like it knew what I was going to ask. I examined the surrounding area looking for advantages for Romulus.

"Ok, Romulus scale the wall to your left and propel yourself from the wall and use Mach Punch towards the Gliscor" I said to Romulus, "I hope this goes to plan" I said to myself and watched Romulus eagerly.

Joe explained how he obtained his Romulus. Well that isn't your average way to get a starter. Buzz thought as the pair wandered up the path. Buzz couldn't help but admire the views looking over the National park. He knew once they got higher up on a day where the skies were as clear as that they could see the whole park from up Mt. Deckbi. Or at least they could as long as the sandstorms didn't get too bad.

As the rocks shattered from beside the entrance to the cave and the Gliscor burst out Joe said "Wow a Gliscor, that's the evolution of Gligar, a Pokemon I really wanted." He appeared to look around the rocks as Buzz took a step back behind Joe to give him some room on the reasonably narrow Mountain path. We weren't high up yet but Buzz still didn't want to risk being thrown off the path. "Ok, Romulus, scale the wall to your left and propel yourself from the wall and use Mach Punch towards the Gliscor," Joe instructed the Fire type.

Buzz wasn't sure if Fighting type moves were the way to go against a Flying type like Gliscor. The Infernape however obliged and was already climbing the side of the rocks and propelling himself at great speed into a Mach Punch. The Gliscor tried to dodge but the monkeys fist came at too great a pace and struck its purple wing. Gliscor was hurtled back and landed in a flurry of dust just on the edge of the path wobbling over the edge. He soon recovered and began to brush his wings and body off, slowly the dust was swept away and the Scorpion's skin looked smoother and sleeker than before.

Gliscor then rushed at Romulus, opening its mouth to reveal a row of sharp fangs that had pale yellow jolts of electricity dancing through them. It bit down hard onto Romulus arm for a long time. Romulus appeared to shudder back in pain. Buzz wasn't sure if Romulus was paralysed as electricity seemed to run down the Infernape's arm but after a quick shake it vanished. Both looked as if they were still eager for the battle.

Romulus began to run up the side of the rocky cliff and propelled itself, with great speed, towards the flying Gliscor. Gliscor tried to predict what would happen and try and dodge the attack but the speed of Romulus Mach Punch was too quick for the Gliscor and came crashing down to ground. Romulus landed on the ground with out a scratch and watched the Gliscor intensely.

The Gliscor got up and started to wipe down the gravel from its slick scaly body. I noticed carefully that Gliscor skin was more shiny than before. I pulled a notepad from my bag and flicked through the pages.

"Ah ha" I said out loud, "I have written down here that when a Pokemon polishes it self and losses drag when flying or moving, this move is called Rock Polish" I said dictating from the Notepad that has been passed down through generations. I turned to Romulus and said "Watch out, He has gotten a lot quicker, I trust that you can beat him"

Romulus smiled, it must be good when a trainer believes in their Pokemon. However Gliscor got back on it feet, or should I say claws, and flew towards Romulus. Gliscor started to open its mouth and its sharp white fangs became yellow fangs with little bits of static coming from the fangs. I didn't need to open my bag and get my pad to know that Gliscor was using Thunder Fang. Gliscor flew towards Romulus with seconds and digged his fangs into Romulus arm. Romulus looked in pain and tried to shrug Gliscor off. After Romulus shrugged of Gliscor it stepped back and I noticed electricity run down Romulus arm.

"Try and shake it off" I shouted to try and give him some encouragement. Romulus shaked his arm and suddenly started to punch the air rapidly. Well that's a relief. I looked across and noticed Romulus and Gliscor staring at each other eagerly.

I looked around and and noticed a couple of things that might be of help. Ahead of us was a branch pointing out from the cliff face, and to the left of me was a huge boulder that Romulus could use for cover for an attack. I started to think about a move that would hurt the Gliscor. I began to think and think and then as I was thinking of move I suddenly had a plan.

"Romulus, You can do this, I want you to use Calm Mind to focus yourself. Then I want you to use Fire Spin to surround yourself and then push off that boulder and use Aerial Ace still with the flames around you. I believe that you can do this" I said to Romulus and began to imagine what the move would look like.

First of all Romulus would focus his mind and the start to produce a spiral of fire around him. Then he would push he self of the boulder to the left of me and start to use Aerial Ace. A white torpedo with a spiral flame surrounding it would hit the Gliscor. The only problem was that Romulus could be hurt when he is using Calm Mind. I forgot about the negatives and focused on the Positives.

I looked and wonder what the outcome would be...

Buzz nodded happily, as Joe confirmed what he already knew about Rock Polish. He was glad to see a trainer so confidant in his Pokemon as he shouted his trust in Romulus.

The Gliscor jumped into the air and its body began to glow gold. It threw its claws back into the ground and shining cracks in the ground formed.
"Watch out that's Earth Power!" Buzz yelled. He was now holding on to the cliff face very wary of the ground shaking and the steep fall to one side.

"Romulus, You can do this, I want you to use Calm Mind to focus yourself. Then I want you to use Fire Spin to surround yourself and then push off that boulder and use Aerial Ace still with the flames around you. I believe that you can do this," Joe instructed to the flaming monkey. As he uttered these words Buzz noticed the faint aura surround Infernape just as Gliscor's attacks hit. Buzz knew the increased defence would help.

Then using its own natural speed, Romulus leaped off the floor dodging most of the attack and was surrounded by a ball of fire and had already bounced off the cliff face when Buzz had noticed it had moved. Then it reappeared right infront of the Flyscorp Pokemon. The whirling torpedo of flame smashed into the wild Pokemon and sent it hurtling down the path.

Wow, that's an interesting combination, Buzz mused to himself, as the Gliscor picked its self up once more. It flapped its wings and all the dust and sand around the path was swept up in a whirlwind of sand. Buzz squinted as the dust became a vicious Sandstorm. "River, form a a protective shield to keep this sand off me." With that the green bird reappeared and a pale green ball formed around Buzz, as River dropped happily onto his shoulder.

"Xatu, Xat," River chirped.

"Hey Joe, you are welcome to get out of this sandstorm if you want!" Buzz yelled as he brushed the dust off his T-shirt.

It was still sunny on the mountain with the gentle breeze coming along once in a while. Joe stood there watching intensely as his Infernape was staring towards the wild Gliscor getting ready for powerful combo. There was one thing that Joe forgot when thought of this combo, Infernape needed to be calm and a move like Calm Mind lets the opponent attack. However he believed that this would work.

The Gliscor flew into the air and hovered above the ground. Suddenly its whole body began to glow gold. It raised it sharp pincer like claws and slammed them to the ground. Little cracks formed around the impact zone of the claws and started to glow in a orange like colour.

"Watch out that's Earth Power!" Buzz yelled. I looked across and watched the sheer power of Gliscor, and then looked towards the ground at the cracks, which had now gotten a lot bigger. Joe started to worry about the fact that they were on a cliff edge and a move that could alter the earth's crust could be quiet powerful. I looked across at Romulus and he started to glow in a pink colour. Was this Calm Mind?

Romulus snapped out of the pink aura and started to leap off the boulder, dodging some of the boulders that had been forced out from the ground. He propelled himself towards Gliscor with the help from the boulder. He then started to spin around and produce flames around him. It looked like a fire torpedo firing towards a defenseless target. The top of Romulus' head began to glow white. The move had work as I had expected, the perfect Fire Ace.

The Gliscor was sent crashing down to the ground. After a while Gliscor flapped his wings and got back on his feet. It looked very angry after that attack and started to cry out loud. Joe looked across towards Romulus who looked like his body was telling him that he needs a rest but the determination on his face disagreed. Gliscor opened its wings and started to flap the in quick succession and produced a powerful sandstorm. Joe could feel little grains of sand bounce of his skin and land on the floor. It was hard to see the battlefield and then Gliscor started to shine in a bright colour. Joe then remembered Gliscor special ability which was Sand Veil, which increases chance of dodging moves in a sandstorm. Joe thought about adding it to his notepad but this wasn't the best time.

Joe heard a faint voice from behind him and turned around, "Hey Joe, you are welcome to get out of this sandstorm if you want!" Buzzer yelled as it was very hard to hear in a sandstorm.


"I want to stay with Romulus" Joe yelled back and then turned towards Romulus, "We are in this together alright?"

Joe took into account that Gliscor was quicker and could dodge attacks because of this sandstorm and tried to find a way past it. He really wished that he brought a Sunny Day TM from the Supermarket as it would really help. Joe covered his eyes as he looked around to find anything. After turning forwards and backwards it was no use, he couldn't see much from 3 meters away, only just making the outline of Gliscor. Joe thought for a while about a way to get over the Sandstorm, and then Joe had an Idea.

"Ok Romulus I want you to prepare yourself to be hurt first as he is quicker than you, as soon as he strikes I want you to grab his tail and fire a powerful Flamethrower whilst hanging from the tail, you think you can do that boy?" Joe said as he watched the Infernape nod and turned and face towards where Gliscor was standing.

Joe stood there nervously as he hoped that this plan would go to plan, he thought that grabbing onto Gliscor tail would decrease the likeliness of missing. The sandstorm was still raging as Joe still covered his face.

The colour of the scene in front of Buzz was tinted green from the safety of his protective shield. He marvelled at the majesty of Pokemon and their abilities as he watched the dust and rocks bounce harmlessly of River's shield. He quickly stroked her head as he returned to focussing upon the battle.

Both Pokemon looked as if they had taken some damage and looked to be raring for more battling. The menacing look of the gliscor darting in and out of sight through the dust and wind of its sandstorm, was a sight to behold. But Joe and his Infernape stood resiliantly against it as if driven by some unaltering force.

Buzz couldn't hear Joe's command over the ever increasing sandstorm, but Romulus didn't appear to be paying any attention to what he was saying. In fact, Romulus wasn't moving at all. The wild Gliscor ceased this opportunity and flew high into the air only to plummet rapidly and disappear back into the dust and wind.

Suddenly it reappeared right in front of Romulus and hit it hard and the two Pokemon rolled backwards. Then Buzz noticed that the Gliscor was having difficulty taking off. After a glance at Romulus, it was evident that the Infernape had a tight grasp of the wild Pokemon's tail. Romulus' mouth opened and was a blaze with a roaring inferno. A powerful flamethrower shot directly into the Gliscor's face, it recoiled screaming in agony.

Buzz was shocked at the brave tactics Joe had put in play. Letting your Pokemon take damage was always a risky move but it had seemed to have paid off.

The Gliscor swiped the Infernape's arm off his tail and flew back into the sandstorm and out of sight. It was impossible to tell what the Gliscor was upto within the safety of the Storm.

Joe tried to look at Romulus through the thick sandstorm. Joe covered his eyes trying not to be hit by the frequent burst of the storm. The temperature hadn't dropped and it was still humid. Hopefully this battle could be finished as soon as possible.

Joe remembered that Gliscor was a lot more powerful in the storm because of it's ability Sand Veil, which allowed it to evade a lot of attacks, including attacks which are fired from a distance. However Joe shock his head and turned to Romulus, who did not seem to like the Sand Storm. Suddenly Gliscor flew up from the horizon and flew towards Romulus.

The scaly vampire Pokemon soared towards the standing Infernape and started to glow white. Joe whipped out the small red notepad and scanned down the front page. Joe then stopped and started to flick through the pages, the sand started to creep it's onto the book after being thrown from the powerful gust of wind.

"The move is Aerial Ace, a move that cannot..." Joe stopped and looked at the ongoing Gliscor. The move cannot miss and flying type are super-effect against fighting types.

Joe looked on very nervous that it could be his fault that Romulus could be very badly hurt. However there was something deep down inside that told him Romulus would come back out alive. I believe in you

Gliscor zoomed towards Romulus and smacked him. There was a massive dust cloud which appeared from the impact of Aerial Ace. The dust settled and then Joe gave a little smile, maybe of relief but he knew Romulus could do it. The Infernape was holding on the stinger of Glsicor. Gliscor tried to shake him off but Romulus held on for his life.

"Now use Flamethrower!" Joe exclaimed pointing his finger towards Gliscor for the dramatic effect.

The Infernape opened up its mouth and let out a powerful blast which hit Gliscor underbelly, that's got to hurt. Romulus jumped back and landed on the floor and smiled towards Gliscor. Gliscor looked at Romulus and gave a little wink back but looked very hurt. Joe then noticed something come out from Gliscor back. Suddenly flames bursted out from the back and Gliscor fell down in pain. Was Gliscor burnt?

Gliscor back off and suddenly gave a loud cry. It looked weaken by that attack but it is going to need a lot more fire power. However how is he going to get more fire power? Gunpowder? No that is ridiculous. There has to be a way, then out of the blue he had an idea.

"Infernape, I believe you can do this but you have to focus. I want you to use Flame Wheel to create a counter shield to any incoming attacks, then use the power of Flame Wheel and leap out towards Gligar and use Fire Spin around you fist and use Close Combat. I know I am asking a lot from you but you can do this" Joe said and then began to wonder what it would look like.

Infernape would start to spin a flame wheel to reduce any damage caused by Gliscor move, then would use the power from the Flame Wheel to leap out and use Fire Spin around his tough knuckles and use Close Combat towards Gliscor.

Let's just hope this works

Buzz had stopped trying to hear what was being said outside his protective shield, instead he had the idea of River Tam reading Joe's mind and translating what was being thought. It's kind of creepy but at least I have a better idea of what is going on, Buzz thought.

"Infernape, I believe you can do this but you have to focus. I want you to use Flame Wheel to create a counter shield to any incoming attacks, then use the power of Flame Wheel and leap out towards Gligar and use Fire Spin around your fist and use Close Combat. I know I am asking a lot from you but you can do this," Xatu said.

Awesome, it worked, Buzz thought. So he is using Flame wheel as a counter and an offensive move. This guy sure uses interesting combinations.

Flames erupted around Infernape's body as he began to spin through the storm. If only rocks got melted, if this was Hail then Romulus wouldn't even be damaged by that, Buzz mused. Gliscor was still vanishing in and out of view through the sandstorm. It almost looked as if he was dancing.

"Joe, Gliscor is using Swords Dance. Its attack power is rising! Be careful!" Buzz said. Xatu now used the mind link in the opposite way, transmitting this thought directly into Joe's head. Buzz once again stroked his remarkable bird Pokemon. Buzz continued watch this thrilling battle, Joe still had the upper hand but things could change drastically if he wasn't careful, thanks to that Swords Dance.

Now Infernape veered to the left and jumped out of its spin just as Gliscor reappeared right in front of Infernape. Infernapes flaming fists moved so fast, they would have been hard to see even without the sand storm.

Gliscor looked horrified, his vanishing act had failed. It took one quick slash at Infernape but the remaining flames surrounding Infernape seemed to make the attack miss. It fell back to the floor having suffered some bad damage from the Fire boosted Close Combat. I just hope those falling defences from Close Combat don't come back to bite Joe.

OCC: I would like to use my 5k MCR costume

The sandstorm was now very thick and it was hard to even get any visual contact with Infernape or Gliscor. Joe turned towards the direction of Buzzer noticed a light green shield protecting him from the sandstorm. The Xatu hovering next him had his eye's shut.

Romulus started to spin around in a small flame wheel to protect him from incoming attacks. The sand grains bounced of the flame wheel and landed in a small pile beneath his feet. The Gliscor looks surprised and started to weave in and out of the sandstorm. It looked very strange seeing a silhouette of the flying vampire Pokemon weave in and out. Then suddenly there was a small ringing noise in Joe's head which got louder and louder. It suddenly stopped and then Joe could hear the sand bounce of something hard. A familiar voice popped into his head and said to him, "Joe, Gliscor is using Swords Dance. Its attack power is rising! Be careful!"

Joe looked bewildered and thought of many possibility of who that person could be? Was God guiding him? Joe shook his head and turned back to the thrilling battle.

Romulus's flame wheel was now floating above the ground waiting for an order to attack, "Alright Romulus, use Fire Spin around your fist and use Close Combat!" I shouted so that Romulus could hear me through the thick dense Sand Storm. Joe looked carefully at Romulus and waited for a reply that he heard him. Suddenly the small floating flame wheel began to rotate faster and faster. As it got faster the flames on the outside began to die down and then eventually it was just a Infernape spinning round and round. Then within a blink of an eye, Romulus stopped spinning and propelled itself from the ground and flew through the air towards the surprised Gliscor. Romulus cut through the sandy weather and directed his path to Gliscor and then began to raise its right arm.

When it was close to Gliscor, the raised fist was suddenly surrounded by a red spinning flame. Yes it's going to plan Joe said to himself and continued to watch the battle. Romulus was inches away from Gliscor and began to outstretch the flaming fist towards Gliscor. Gliscor raised its much bigger claws and swiped them down Romulus body. Romulus took the hit and carried on stretching the fist towards Gliscor. When the fist hit, Romulus brought the other fist and smacked him again. From a distance, it looked like Romulus was propelling his arms towards Gliscor's stomach with little red flames failing from the impact zone of Gliscor body.

Romulus jumped back and landed on both feet before being hit by another strong wave of Sand. Gliscor backed away and stared at Romulus, with those yellow scary eyes. A couple of flames came out of Gliscor which resulted from the burn he received earlier in the battle. There was one thing that Joe had remembered from Close Combat and that was that Romulus Defense and Special Defense would be lowered. This was a problem, Gliscor's Attack was now increased due to Swords Dance and Romulus Defense was lowered due to Close Combat. If Gliscor managed to get a few hits on Romulus, this could be game over. However there was a voice in Joe's head which told him to carry on and believe in the true power of Romulus.

Joe nodded and looked back at Romulus and Gliscor, both looked a bit tired. I need to make sure that Romulus doesn't get to hurt or else I could forgive my self Joe said to himself trying to think of a way to get Romulus back on level forms. Joe looked around, trying to find some inspiration. With a bit of luck and a good eye, Joe had an idea as he looked at a silhouette of a group of Ryhorn on the mountain side.

"Romulus I know your tired but I still think you can win this. Use Bulk Up whilst running around trying to dodge any attacks Gliscor fires at you. If he is behind you, turn around and use Mach Punch, however make sure that you miss Gliscor. Gliscor will be confused that you miss and then surprise him with a hard Flamethrower. If he is far away use Aerial Ace of the Mountain side and use Mach Punch in mid-air. That's a lot for a normal Pokemon to take in but your a lot different from a normal Pokemon, your the bravest Pokemon there is. You can do it"

Joe watched on whilst biting his finger nails wondering what the outcome will be. If there was any connection, like telepathy, then listen up Romulus.

"Was God guiding him," River transmitted from Joe's head. Buzz chuckled.

I guess I should have mentionned it was me. Oh well. Buzz watched the action unfold as Gliscor winced in pain from the burn he had suffered, then another thought was transmitted by River.

"I need to make sure that Romulus doesn't get hurt or else I couldn't forgive myself," Joe thought. Buzz was impressed at just how connected to his Pokemon Joe was.

Meanwhile Gliscor was darting in and out of the sandstorm, but the wind coming around the mountain started to pick up and the sand storm seemed to be dying out. Sure enough, the sky cleared up and the storm had ended. Gliscor's proctection seemed to have gone. At last! Ok River, you can lower the shield and take a rest. Buzz thought as he raised the Pokeball and withdrew River Tam from his shoulder.

Taking a step forward Buzz said to Joe, "Hey, I get to be able to hear you again. And no more worrying about that pesky Sand Veil ability."

Buzz watched as Joe instructed is Infernape to boost his defences and attack power. It was a risky tactic as the time wasted could see Gliscor strike. Buzz looked over to where Gliscor was to try and get an idea of what was going to happen, but it had vanished. Buzz looked around, till he noticed a shadow falling over him.

Gliscor swept down from above and was moving so fast it was hard to spot him. Buzz just noticed Gliscor had crossed his arms in front of his chest just like at the start of the battle. Buzz was sure it was going to connect hard but just at the right moment Infernape took off, running while flexing his arms and legs. Unfortunately Gliscor connected with Infernape's legs just before he had got away causing Romulus to stumble and ending Bulk Up, before it had finished.

Gliscor still hurtled into the ground in X-scissor burying himself in a shallow hole. The crash seemed to have done some damage, much like a recoil effect. Romulus, only heeding part of Joe's commands, took advantage of Gliscor's situation and fired a Flamethrower into the hole seemingly trapping and damaging the Gliscor in its hole. It was doing continuous damage so Joe would have to be fast.

"Quick Joe, now is the time to try and catch Gliscor. I don't think he can take much more battling!" Buzz said to Joe. "That's one smart Infernape."

Joe looked on and watched Gliscor take off into the sandy weather and dart in and out the thick sandstorm. Joe then focused his eyes towards the flying Gliscor and noticed that he could see much more detail of Gliscor, including the huge purple pincers which could cut through almost anything. The sand around Joe began to settle relieving the battle field once more. Now it will be easy to attack Gliscor.

Joe looked across at Buzz, who ordered River Tam to lower the bright green shield protecting them from the sand storm. He walked over to Joe and said, ""Hey, I get to be able to hear you again. And no more worrying about that pesky Sand Veil ability."

"Amen to that" Joe said in his head.

Joe turned back to the battle and began to watch Romulus glow in a red colour. He was using Bulk Up however Gliscor was a lot quicker and can seriously hurt Romulus. Gliscor flew up in the air and disappeared from an eye's sight. Joe looked around trying to find Gliscor and then noticed a familiar shadow appear on the ground beside him. Joe quickly looked up and saw the Gliscor zooming down towards the glowing Infernape with it's purple pincers crossed in an X shape. Joe was amazed at the speed of the Gliscor, after everything it has been through.

Romulus began to start running away from the incoming attack, still glowing red. However the Gliscor managed to clip the trailing leg of Romulus. Romulus stumbled which caused Bulk Up to fail before it was finished. Romulus dived to the floor in pain and watched Gliscor zoom off into the distance. However something seemed wrong about Gliscor flight and plummeted down into the ground and burying himself in a small hole which he could not get out. It looked like Gliscor had sustained some damage from the fall, much like recoil damage. Romulus stood up and walked over to the hole.

"Use Flamethrower Romulus!" Joe said as he watched Infernape walked towards the impact zone of the fallen Gliscor. Romulus opened his mouth and fired a powerful blast of fire down into the hole. Joe covered his face from the heat of the blast and slowly raised his arm down. Joe looked at the hole and noticed that the hole was filled with fire which could knock out Gliscor if Joe wasn't careful. Suddenly Joe heard Buzz shout to him and idea.


"Quick Joe, now is the time to try and catch Gliscor. I don't think he can take much more battling!" He said to Joe. "That's one smart Infernape."

Joe nodded and turned to Gliscor. He quickly opened his bag and noticed something weird in his bag. He gently picked it up and remembered what it was used for. He grabbed the tag at the bottom and it read:

'Place on your Pokemon when you are about to capture for the best outcome'​

"I know this Gliscor is a fighter so I better use it Joe said to himself Joe carefully walked over to Romulus and carefully asked Romulus, "I need you to wear this costume so that we can have a better chance at capturing Gliscor, alight?"

Joe received and instant glance from Romulus and then Romulus grabbed the costume from Joe hand. Romulus slipped nice and neatly into the costume and walked back into the battle.

Joe didn't want to laugh at Infernape because he was happy he agreed to it, most Pokemon wouldn't. Joe watched the Infernape, dressed up like a clown, walk up to the hole in the ground. Joe grabbed a small ball from his bag and watched it expand in his hand. Joe threw the 'Superball' into the air and directed it towards Gliscor. Joe suddenly noticed that the suite Romulus was wearing began to shine. Joe watched intensely as the ball rolled forwards and backwards.

Buzz roared with laughter as he watched Joe pass the costume to Infernape, he had heard of Infernape's learning the move Role Play but this was a step of weirdness beyond that. Buzz almost fell to the floor when Romulus emerged as a clown. This is by far the weirdest thing a trainer has done.

Buzz saw Joe throw the Superball through the flames trapping the Gliscor and he heard the ball snap shut. Buzz stepped forward and looked into the whole and saw the ball shudder to a stand still, once the flames had died down.

"Well Joe, you just caught yourself a Gliscor! Great Job. Unfortunately I have to keep it for now. Sorry Park Rules." Buzz picked up the ball, but immediately dropped it. "Argh stupid flames, you couldn't have ended the flames before throwing the ball into the hole?"

"GLISCOR!!!" shouted Joe's new Flyscorp Pokemon as the ball hit the floor, accidentally clicking the release mechanism. It zoomed high in the sky before plummeting and sitting on Buzz's head pushing him to the floor.

"Return," Buzz said gasping for air as the Red beam of energy withdrew Gliscor. Standing up and brushing himself off, Buzz slotted the Super Ball containing Joe's Gliscor into his bag then walked back to Joe. "Well let's keep this journey moving, there are plenty more Pokemon for you to see."

Joe carefully watched as the small park ball rolled around on the dry ground. The ball slowly tilted from left to right and then finally stopped with a click. Joe smiled and gave a sigh of relief after a very interesting battle on both sides. Joe walked over to Romulus and asked if he wanted to take of the suit? With out a doubt Romulus nodded and Joe carefully lifted removed the costume from Romulus. Joe turned around and walked over to Buzz, who seemed to pick up the freshly caught Gliscor and placed it in his bag.

As Joe was about to ask something Buzz dropped the Pokeball onto the floor, "Argh stupid flames, you couldn't have ended the flames before throwing the ball into the hole?" As the ball made contact with the ground, the ball landed on the mechanism which made the ball open and a familiar figure appeared from the ball. Joe watched Gliscor fly up into the air and land on Buzz's head. Buzz gently pushed Gliscor down to the floor and returned the Pokemon.
