Elisa Fleming stretched her well-rested limbs as she awoke from a quick nap. Currently, she was in her Ranger Office, which was a room in the Docks' Ranger Outpost. She had decided to take a quick rest, like her friend Ivy - who had left some time ago, as the male rangers were fighting over Madison, the receptionist, once more in the lobby.

It had been quite a while since she had gone out on ranger duty, so when she was offered the job to take someone out to Mount Oktori, she immediately accepted the opportunity. Elisa knew the mountain was the exact opposite of Mount Deckbi, a volcano in the Park, which she had been to some time ago with Marq. While Mt. Deckbi had a very hot, foggy, and dusty atmosphere, Mt. Oktori had very chilly weather all year round as well as snow falling everywhere. Their only similarity was, they both had extensive cave networks.

Her bones creaked a bit as she stood up now, grabbing her brown shoulder bag which was ever stocked with the many items she might or may not need. Quickly, Elisa walked back to the main lobby of Outpost Number One. The boys were ever-persistent in their fighting - and, so far, not a single one had won today.

Her left hand was in her pocket, gingerly touching Superman's Pokeball. If anybody got in the way, she knew her Machamp could take care of that immediately. Elisa pushed her way past the arguing rangers, a bit like how Ivy would, not even bothering to listen to what they were saying-slash-shouting out. She nodded her thanks, mouthed a "good luck", as she took the trainer file.

Right at the door of the Outpost, she brought out her primarily yellow-colored RDA (Ranger's Digital Assistant), a device that was anything and everything she might need. Pressing a small orange button on the right side, a hologram-like screen popped out. After moving the file so it was in position, she tapped the screen lightly. Elisa watched as the gadget scanned all the information of the trainer, storing it indefinitely. With a soft, but audible, beep from the RDA, she returned the file to Madison before zipping out of the place.

She walked quickly to the main entrance, in case her trainer was already there - waiting. Elisa stopped abruptly as she reached the gate, leaning on a wall at the edge of the metal poles.

She fingered three Pokeballs - each containing a creature she knew would be of great help. As she waited there, she began to read about her trainer. His name was Eric - no last name was given; he would be bringing three Pokemon - an Infernape, a Scizor, and an Ambipom. They were very interesting creatures, in Elisa's opinion. She was actually planning to get an Aipom and a Scyther sometime soon. Elisa kept on reading - she found it such a coincidence that Scyther and Ambipom both had the ability Technician, as well as being Brave in nature. She also found it quite interesting that all his Pokemon were males.

Elisa looked up, and saw a figure walking - coming nearer and nearer. She immediately stood up straight, hoping it was Eric.

OOC: I suck at these first posts and I'm sure that my grammar was fail too, stupid commas and semicolons

"I wonder exactly how cold its going to be on top of Mt. Oktori. Ah well it probably won't be so cold that it bothers me, I mean in the winter when there's three feet of snow on the ground where I live I still go outside in a t-shirt and shorts," I said to myself as I was walking to the front gate to meet my ranger.

I had really wanted to take my Whimsicott and Aerodactyl with me on this trip since they were my two newest Pokemon and I wanted to get more experienced with them, but I knew that their typing wasn't right for this trip seeing as how both are weak to Ice. I was however happy that I got to bring my two most meaningful Pokemon with me on this trip: Ambipom, my most used Pokemon; and Scizor, my most valuable Pokemon. These two guys loved a good battle, and never turn away from a fight; that's what makes the two of them so useful for this trip.

I made my final turn on the path and saw someone standing outside in front of the front gate. I thought to myself and figured that it was my ranger, so I should go introduce myself before the run began. I started to get closer and closer when they jumped up to their feet. "Hello I'm Eric, and if I had to guess I'd saw you were my ranger correct?"

OOC: Don't worry, your post quality is fine ;) Also, I've already taken into account the Spheal Family Repellent, just thought, maybe, you'd wanna RP using it at Mt. Oktori.

    NBP#2

When the trainer was just about a foot or two away from the entrance, he seemed to shout something. "Hello, I'm Eric, and if I had to guess I'd saw you were my ranger correct?"

"Yes, that's me," Elisa answered, with a short, but friendly, wave. She opened the gate before continuing, "I'm Elisa Fleming. I'm pretty sure you know Mount Oktori has very chilly weather, and it is very likely that it's snowing there as we speak."

She led him to a jeep waiting about a mile away from the Outpost. She slid into the driver's seat, and gestured for him to get in. Elisa did not really care where he wanted to stay - be it in front beside her, or at the back with the seats all to himself. After a few minutes, she started the engine, pulling out with much ease. She had gained some experience in driving these things when she had drove to Mount Deckbi with Joe and Daniel.

Mount Oktori was quite a long way off, though Elisa figured the scenery kept Eric quite busy. First, there was a forest - the Woods. Squeaks and growls of many different could be heard echoing and bouncing through the trees. Then, heading further south, the entrance to the Great Lakes, where, even before going in, you could already see damp grass. Next came a fork in the road, the left path a misty atmosphere with cold breezes, while the right had a very soothing, fresh scent of grass and plants. Elisa turned the steering wheel, turning to the left side.

The road had grass and plants on either side, but most already had patches of snow covering them. "Yup, no doubt about it, it's snowing there today," she commented. A few moments later, they confronted another gate. In big, bold, capital letters, "Mount Oktori" was engraved in stone on the entrance's big sign. Elisa parked the car to one side before getting out. She waited for Eric to come out before saying, "Okay, Eric, this is where your trip actually starts. Are you ready?"

OOC: Oh that's actually a pretty good idea.

IC: "I'm Elisa Fleming. I'm pretty sure you know Mount Oktori has very chilly weather, and it is very likely that it's snowing there as we speak," she said to me replying to my question. "I really don't mind the cold air or snow, I prefer it to warm weather actually," I said to Elisa as she led me to her jeep.

Elisa got into the jeep and signaled for me to come in. I got into the front seat; I always felt weird sitting alone in the back of a vehicle when someone was driving.

I tend to usually be pretty quiet when I'm with someone who I don't really know that way I can avoid reaching an awkward silence in a conversation, if there was one thing I hated it was having a conversation just randomly end part of the way though because I ran out of things to say. Rather than begin a conversation on the way to Mt. Oktori I just checked out the surrounding environment that we passed on the way there. We passed by the Woods first; I didn't know much about the Woods aside from some Pokemon that could be found there such as Scyther. After that we ended up passing the entrance to the Great Lakes, and it made me think of my first ever trip to the National Park since that was at the Great Lakes.

"Yup, no doubt about it, it's snowing there today," Elisa said as we got close to the gate. "I don't mind some snow, I actually look forward to it," I said.

We reached the front gate of Mount Oktori, so Elisa parked the jeep, and got out before saying "Okay, Eric, this is where your trip actually starts. Are you ready?"

"I am indeed ready for this," I said to Elisa, eager to begin this park run. "Oh but before we begin I have a quick thing I need to first do," I said as I reached into my backpack which contained my items for the trip. "You see a few months ago I happened to come across two Family Repellents, so I would like to use one right now to repel Spheal and its evolutionary line," I said to Elisa as I began to spray it, though I really had no idea how they worked I trusted that it wouldn't fail me; I just hoped that I was suppose to spray it now, and not hand it over to Elisa to spray it at a different time instead.

Eric nodded enthusiastically as Elisa pushed the gate open after punching in a short number passcode. "I am indeed ready for this," he said, reaching into his backpack. She peered into his hand, which seemed to hold a spray-type bottle. "You see a few months ago I happened to come across two Family Repellents, so I would like to use one right now to repel Spheal and its evolutionary line," he explained as he held the bottle out. He pressed a small button and began to spray the scent out.

Ah, yes, the family repellent, Elisa thought to herself as she looked away. She didn't want any of the liquid to reach her eyes. "Good, that should keep away Spheals and their families for quite some time." Honestly, the smell was not all that good, and Elisa wasn't sure exactly how the smell would repel those certain Pokemon. However, she did, indeed, trust the National Park staff and the Park Shop were providing usable materials - so it should work.

"So, I hear you have a jar of Premium Honey, yes?" she asked with a quick glance at the scanned trainer file. "Honey Trees are quite scarce in this area, but I'm pretty sure we'd be able to find one. Now, then, we could travel up the mountain, or explore down here at the surroundings, or we could move into the extensive cave networks. Where would you like to go first?"

Suddenly, a pile of snow fell to in front of Elisa's shoes from somewhere above - somewhere up in the mountain. She looked up curiously, seeing a not-so-big figure dashing about. Then, the next instant, it seemed to have jumped downwards. Its feet and legs were outstretched as it fell right onto the pile of snow. The snow cushioned the creature's fall - it landed with a soft thud in a seemingly crouched position. Its right hand was stretched straight downwards, while its left was stationary on its leg. Its head moved up slowly from its bent position as it gave a fierce battle growl.

It was a bipedal Pokémon which vaguely resembled a mix of cat and weasel. Its body was predominantly black, but it possessed bright, red feather-like growths on its left ear and lower back. Its most striking features were, probably, the two retractable claws on its front and back paws. It also had distinctive yellow markings on its face and chest. The Sharp Claw Pokemon had unusual facial markings, which seemed to resemble eyelashes.

"So, Eric, would you like to battle this Sneasel?"

"So, I hear you have a jar of Premium Honey, yes?" Elisa asked before we began. "Honey Trees are quite scarce in this area, but I'm pretty sure we'd be able to find one." "I don't mind if we don't find a Honey Tree, its not like I couldn't use the honey at another time," I replied

As Elisa was telling me about the different areas of Mount Oktori, and asking which spot I'd like to go to first some snow fell in front of her, and a figure of a Pokemon was seen sprinting down the mountain which jumped and landed on the pile of snow.

Its body was for the most part black and it had very sharp claws, it was a Sneasel which was one the Pokemon I had been hoping to encounter during my visit here.

"So, Eric, would you like to battle this Sneasel?" Elisa asked me. "Yes I would love to battle this Sneasel," I replied to Elisa with no hesitation.

"I wonder which Pokemon I should sent out though. Infernape would probably be too powerful to face Sneasel due to its major weakness to Fighting, and Ambipom has never had good luck vs Ice types. Well then I guess that only leaves one choice. Your up Scizor!" I said as I grabbed its Pokeball from my belt.

The red bug Pokemon appeared from its ball and let out a battle cry to let me know it was ready for battle. I felt Scizor was a good choice in this situation due to Sneasel being weak to both Bug and Steel type moves which ironically enough Scizor's typing.

I had to think to myself for a minute as to what attack I should start with, I didn't wanna go too powerful and have Scizor knock Sneasel out in one shot, but I also wanted Sneasel to know that I meant business since I wanted to catch it.

"All right Scizor start off with a Double Team, then once you've finished that up use Steel Wing!" Scizor turned back to me and nodded signaling that it knew what to do. Scizor was one of my Pokemon who enjoyed pulling off a non attack move then attack move combo.

I wasn't one who enjoyed using moves like Double Team, I was more of an all out attack type of trainer that also only liked using non attack moves that boost strength such as Swords Dance, or harm the opponent such as Thunder Wave, but I knew I had to be strategic in order to make things work which is where a move like Double Team comes into play.

Scizor began to make a bunch of image copies of itself which I figured would be able to keep Sneasel from being able to tell which was the real Scizor. That was what I did like about Double Team, it could give the user of the move a chance to stay undetected while it can prepare a counterattack.

After doing this Scizor's wings began to turn silver in color, much like the color of steel, which was the nature of the Steel Wing attack. After the wings became silver Scizor launched itself directly at Sneasel looking to cause some damage.

"Yes I would love to battle this Sneasel," Eric answered immediately - there was no such trace of doubt or hesitation in his voice as he said this. Elisa nodded, she herself would have wanted to battle a Sneasel if she was given the chance to. She stepped a side to give the trainer some space to battle.

She wondered which of his Pokemon he would use in this battle, considering Infernape could probably hurt it too much. Her question was answered soon enough though as Eric wondered out loud, "I wonder which Pokemon I should send out though. Infernape would probably be too powerful to face Sneasel due to its major weakness to Fighting, and Ambipom has never had good luck versus Ice types. Well then, I guess that only leaves one choice. You're up Scizor!"

He grabbed a Pokeball from his belt, the third one, then threw the ball to the battlefield. A creature with a thick, red metallic exoskeleton emerged from the blinding white light of the Pokeball. He had crab-like claws, with yellow-and-black eye-like patterns on them. He had two-toed feet, with one clawed toe in front and the other in the back. The Pincer Pokemon had a pair of two-lobed wings. Aside from his primarily red coloration, he had accentuations of black on his neck, chest, and abdomen.

"Sci-zor! Zor!" he growled fiercely, surveying the situation as Eric thought to himself for a moment. His yellow eyes came to rest on the Sneasel, who was still in its crouched battle position. The wild creature seemed to wince a bit as its eyes locked with Scizor's - perhaps due to it being weak to both Bug- and Steel-typed attacks. It shook its head quickly, letting out a "Snea-sneasel!"

"Alright, Scizor start off with a Double Team, then once you've finished that up, use Steel Wing!" the trainer commanded, to which his Pokemon acknowledged when he had turned back quickly with a short nod.

Elisa smiled, approving of the move combo. Double Team would confuse the Sneasel as to which the real Scizor was. Steel Wing would be super effective against the Sneasel, too! However, Elisa realized, the wild Pokemon might be able to land an attack on the Scizor when he would be attacking with Steel Wing. She shrugged, watching the battle unfold slowly.

Scizor was hopping from side to side, the energy just building rapidly inside of him. Soon he began to glow a reddish white color as figures were emerging from within him. The Sneasel, on the other hand, had a tad of confusion on its face - which soon disappeared when the Bug-Steel-type had finished creating image copies of himself. It tried to focus on the fast moving illusions, as well as the real creature, having much difficulty. It tried its best to focus on all four moving things, but couldn't exactly differentiate Eric's Pokemon from the three illusions.

Now, the Scizor's wings were shining a silver glow like to color of metal - steel, specifically. He was running fast as he did this, sometimes in a circle; other times, just a random zig-zag-like pattern. When he felt he had concentrated the right amount of energy and power into his wings, he turned sharply.

Sneasel looked around quickly when it lost sight of two, out of the four, moving objects. Its eyes soon spotted one creature speeding straight at him. It yelped a bit, focusing really hard to deliver as much power as it could to its claws. As Scizor launched himself into the air, the Sharp Claw Pokemon's claws began glowing white with some aura.

The next instant, Scizor had brought his wings forward, hitting the "waiting" Sneasel directly. However, the opponent was quick to react. It had been pushed down to the ground before Eric's Pokemon had released him. The Sneasel jumped, slashing its claws through the air at the Scizor. The surprised and unknowing Scizor winced as the sharp claw struck him.

He fell from mid-jump, though, luckily, still landed on his feet. He growled, running around with his illusions once more. Then, they all stopped at the same time. They seemed to line up, the real Scizor the second one from the left. The Sneasel returned the battle cry, ice energy shooting through his body and up to his throat. After which, many icicles full of ice shot forwards - towards the line of Scizors. The ice shards were directed to the right-most object first - one of the image copies.

Scizor gave a quick sideways glance at his trainer, awaiting further orders. Elisa thought this would, indeed, be an interesting battle. If Scizor was lucky, and fast enough, he could avoid the Ice Shard attack - however, it would be at the cost of two, if not all, of his image copies.

OOC: Post would have been better but its 4am and I can't sleep so I figured I'd post

Sneasel was as crafty as I thought it was, seeing as how it was able to land an attack on Scizor even though Scizor had done a Double Team attack. Of course though this did not mean in any way that I felt Scizor could not get the job done. I was well aware of Scizor's power and knew it had more than enough for this.

"Good job Scizor you're as strong as ever," I said to remind Scizor that I believed in it.

I had to remind myself that Sneasel was a Pokemon with lower defense than that of many common Pokemon, and if I picked too powerful of a move that would be it for this battle.

After thinking that Scizor lined back up right next to its three image copies. This however was not to Sneasel's liking and it quickly began to make a counterattack.

Sneasel let out a battle cry and shot out many sharp pieces of ice flying directly at Scizor. "That, that's an Ice Shard attack," I thought to myself. "That's not good, Ice Shard is a move that strikes first, and with all the icicle shards Scizor is bound to lose its image copies and take some bad damage. Well it'll cost me Scizor's image copies, but this could prevent Scizor from taking damage," I thought as I came up with Scizor's next move.

"Okay Scizor in order to avoid getting hurt to bad you need to show off what you can do so use Bullet Punch!" I yelled to Scizor not caring whether or not it lost its image copies. All I really cared about was making sure Scizor avoided harm.

"Zor!" Scizor cried out getting ready to show off its skill again. I figured the best way to counter a fast attacking move such as Ice Shard would be with another fast attacking move such as Bullet Punch. Bullet Punch was the move Scizor was known for: it would strike first a lot, it received a boost from it being the same type as Scizor is, and it would also be boosted by Scizor's ability.

The real Scizor moved at an intense speed right towards Sneasel, it was faster than anything I had ever seen, I guess I understood why they called the move "Bullet Punch" now. After sending this attack I thought Scizor might get hit with some of the Ice Shard attack since Sneasel was quick witted, but I already sent the command of Bullet Punch and to add another move now would only confuse Scizor. I trusted Scizor would be able to land a blow in before being sent flying back though.

Elisa watched as the first few shards filled with ice energy struck the right-most image copy. "Good job Scizor you're as strong as ever," Eric called encouragingly as he began to think of their next move.

Honestly, Elisa couldn't quite think of a counterattack, seeing as Ice Shard was an increased priority move - a move that was indeed quickly performed. She mentally went through a list in her head that contained the moves she knew Scizor could use, as well as the attacks she remembered from Eric's trainer file, while still keeping an eye on the battle.

"Okay Scizor in order to avoid getting hurt too bad, you need to show off what you can do so use Bullet Punch!" Eric hollered quickly. Scizor growled in affirmation, quickly leaping out of the way of the incoming spears. The trainer had commanded the attack in the nick of time, and his Pokemon was able to dodge the attack with only a single spear barely scraping him.

He landed on the ground perfectly as Sneasel's Ice Shard attack destroyed the last of his illusions. The wild Pokemon looked around, trying to locate the position of Eric's Pokemon - who was currently zipping about, his legs pushing him forwards. In the snow and grass, it, quite easily, found him due to his red-colored ouer body. It continued its plan, opening its mouth again to fire off shards of ice. The icicles were being shot at a terrific speed everywhere.

As if it wasn't cold enough, the female ranger muttered in her head, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket. She knew now, it was just a matter of speed this round. Scizor was definitely a swift creature, but so was Sneasel. Her eyes were focused even more on the battle now - it was certainly getting interesting.

Now, Scizor's hands and arms were glowing a steady, white-ish silver color as he ran. He was building up his energy and power as the ice shards kept on coming at him. Unfortunately, he accidentally made a wrong turn once, getting scraped by two or three in the process - nothing too bad, though.

He growled, zooming straight, from the back, at the Sneasel. His fists were fully coated with steel energy as he pushed forward, ramming his hand into the wild creature, dealing a significant amount of damage.

Elisa realized Bullet Punch was one of Eric's best bets when it came to inflicting damage. Why? Well, fist, count the fact that Sneasel was weak to steel-typed attacks . Then, consider the attack being steel-typed - thus, receiving a STAB bonus. And last, but not the least, recognize Scizor's ability: Technician, which raises low-powered moves' power.

Scizor sped away from the Sneasel as it lay hurt on the snowy grass before it could attack back. He stopped abruptly, too happy with his performance that he almost bumped straight into his trainer. Elisa noticed he seemed to have smiled sheepishly, mumbling a "Scii.." which sounded like, "Sorry..."

    OOC: Female Sneasel please

Sneasel's Ice Shard attack got rid of the rest of Scizor's image copies, however in doing so it still hadn't been able to locate Scizor dead on and was only able to hit it with a single shard from the attack.

Scizor's Bullet Punch left some serious damage to Sneasel. Sneasel was laying down, struggling to get back to its feet, it was tired and hurt pretty bad from that last attack. Now would seem like a good time to try to catch it to many trainers, but I knew that Sneasel still had more of a fight in it than this, for all I knew Sneasel could be faking some of the fatigue so I would have Scizor ease up at which point Sneasel would see an opening and strike fast.

Scizor came back to me very fast after hurting Sneasel, so fast that it nearly bumped into me, at which point Scizor let out a "Scii.." I couldn't help but laugh at that, Scizor was having a good time battling, and was doing a good job at it too. "You seem to be enjoying yourself Scizor, but hey don't go too overboard alright? I don't want you to hurt Sneasel to a point where it can't get back up," I said to Scizor as it waited for its next command.

"Anyway you're doing a great job out there of avoiding most of those attacks while still dealing some major damage to Sneasel. With any luck we should only need to do another attack or two before Sneasel is ready to be captured, and its all thanks to you and your power." Scizor enjoyed being complimented on its skills, it made Scizor always want to try its hardest and battle more and more, that was probably a trait it picked up from its previous trainer.

I thought of all the moves Scizor knew and tried to pick which one would be the best to use next. I didn't want to use a move that Sneasel already saw because it could probably easily counter the attack, but at the same time I didn't want to go for an attack that was too powerful such as Brick Break or Superpower. I narrowed it down to either Bug Bite or X-Scissor. Both were powerful moves that Scizor received STAB from, however Bug Bite would be boosted in power by Scizor's ability and it also had a secondary effect, that was if the target was holding a berry then the Pokemon using Bug Bite would steal and eat the berry. I figured Sneasel wasn't holding a berry, but still Bug Bite would have probably been the more useful attack to go for so its best to go for that I thought.

"Okay now Scizor get ready and attack Sneasel with Bug Bite!" I yelled to Scizor. "Sci-Sci Scizor!" Scizor let out as it got ready to attack.

Bug Bite was one of the more violent attacks that I had ever seen. The Pokemon using it literally bites down on their opponent in search of a berry, and if the target isn't holding a berry then the target gets the full force of the bite on them. When this attack is used the Pokemon using the attack mouth turns a shade of green while attacking. Much like Bullet Punch, Bug Bite was a move Scizor was well known for due to the fact that both its type and ability make this move much stronger than it normally is.

Scizor jumped back a few feet getting ready to dash over to Sneasel for the attack. Before attacking though it leaned forward slightly first so it got over there even faster by gaining some momentum along the way. Scizor jumped and launched itself at Sneasel, opening its mouth along the way so it could instantly bite Sneasel the second it got over to it.

As before, Eric praised and encouraged his brave Pokemon. Elisa knew most species of Pokemon loved to be praised and complimented as what the trainer was doing - and, certainly, this Scizor was one of them. She smiled at the boy and his creature, awaiting what they might do next.

Eric was contemplating his options again, deep in thought - the female ranger did the same. The pair was certainly an eccentric, unpredictable, and good one, thus she enjoyed accompanying them both even though the trip had just begun.

Elisa knew Scizor knew a wide array of moves, though quite a number of them would probably too much for the damaged Sneasel to handle - such as Superpower, Brick Break, as well as Slash and Rock Smash. She had her answer soon enough once more, as if on cue, Eric ordered Scizor to use Bug Bite.

The move sounded quite familiar to her ears, though not as much as Steel Wing, X-Scissor, and some other moves. This was a physical attack - that part she knew. She thought hard, trying to recall just when and where (and how) this move had been used before. A moment later, she snapped her fingers together as she remembered.

Elisa looked to the running Scizor as he prepared his teeth to chomp down hard on the opponent. He leapt into the air, launching himself over to the tired Sneasel. Suddenly, the wild creature's eyes opened, and the first thing she saw was, Eric's Scizor looming over her - jaws wide open. She winced, bracing herself for the impact as she began to gather her remaining energy and power for an attack later on - hoping against all hope the Bug-Steel-type's attack would not knock her out.

She yelped and growled in pain as the sharp fangs seeped into her fur and body. She tried her very best to endure as much pain and damage as she could - but to very little avail. When Scizor finally let her body go, she went limp for a few moments as he sped back to Eric.

Slowly, the wild Sharp Claw Pokemon stood dizzily as she opened her mouth slowly. Elisa did not understand, why did she still want to attack? Was she really that determined? She could not continue her trail of thought as she jumped to the side just in time to evade a cold blast of wind.

The freezing gust of wind swept over the place, causing the Ranger to shiver slightly. Later on, she thought as she watched the Icy Wind chase Scizor, I'm going to have to zip up my jacket...

However, Elisa noticed, the attack was a very weak one - smaller, slower, and perhaps, less chilly. The Sneasel did not give up the bout, even though she was very low on health and energy. Scizor - quite easily at that - managed to outrun the gusts of ice. Then, a few moments later, the Sneasel gave it her all, forcing the attack to at least touch the exoskeleton of the opponent. After which, she went limp once more - though still quite conscious and breathing.

"Now would be the best time to catch that Sneasel," Elisa informed Eric. Then, she quickly added, "But I'm sure you already know that..."

Sneasel couldn't help but take the full force of Scizor's attack, however even though it was tired and weak Sneasel still gave everything it had to hit Scizor with another attack, though at this point it was a very weak attack now.

"Well Sneasel is incredibly determined I'll give it credit for that, and that's good since I happen to like a Pokemon with spirit," I said to myself.

After attacking Sneasel fell back down to the ground, it was too worn out from Scizor's previous attack to stay standing.

"Now would be the best time to catch that Sneasel," Elisa said to me. Before I could answer though she added, "But I'm sure you already know that..."

"I was just thinking the same thing Elisa, and yeah I did already know that, but still its nice that you told me now would be good, its good to hear some input from my rangers during my runs, or so I feel," I told Elisa so she would know her input was welcome at anytime.

"Okay, that will be more than enough Scizor, I don't want you overdoing things," I said to Scizor so it knew it was finished battling Sneasel.

I reached into my pocket pulled out an unused Parkball, tossed it at the weakened Sneasel, and waited to see what would happen next.

"I was just thinking the same thing Elisa, and yeah, I did already know that, but still it's nice that you told me now would be good, it's good to hear some input from my rangers during my runs, or so I feel," Eric told his ranger, causing her to grin happily. She was glad he wanted some input from rangers every now and then, it actually made them feel more appreciated and important (and not just some sort of guide that shows you around the zone.)

The trainer called to his Scizor, telling him the battle was now over. The Pokemon nodded, trotting back to the male teen tiredly. Eric's hand dug into his pocket, retrieving a green-colored orb: the common Park Ball. Elisa nodded her approval, this Sneasel was weakened enough that a Park Ball would be all he needed.

He threw it at the exhausted wild creature. The sphere flew threw the air, rotating as it went. Then, its front part touched the Sharp Claw Pokemon, sucking it in with a red glow of light. It then fell lightly to the ground with a soft thud, shaking once... twice... After which, it stood still.

Elisa walked over to the now-captured Sneasel, picking up the ball. "Congratulations! You have caught a Sneasel," she told Eric. "I'll have to keep her for you until the end of your trip, though." She tucked the ball safely into her bag, making sure it could not roll out.

"Now, where would you like to go? Up there, stay down here, or into that cave over there?" Elisa asked, pointing to each of their options. The cave was to their right, around five to six feet away, and the slight top part was covered in heaps of snow. "Oh, Mount Oktori, like Mount Deckbi, has extensive cave networks - so we're bound to find a load full of Pokemon there; most likely Fighting types. If we hike up, we'll most probably find Ice types."

"Congratulations! You have caught a Sneasel," Elisa said to me after successfully capturing Sneasel. "Hey thanks a lot!" I happily repplied. "All right Scizor its time for you to rest, and you've more than earned it," I said as Scizor returned to its Pokeball.

"Now, where would you like to go? Up there, stay down here, or into that cave over there?" ELisa asked. "Hm that's a good question, I really don't know where to pick next, both areas sound interesting. I suppose I'll decide with a coin flip," I told Elisa.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a coin which I had on me, heads was going to be the cave system, and tails was going to be hiking up the mountain. I flipped the coin and it landed on heads. "Well I suppose I have my answer now; I'd like to go into one of the cave Elisa," I told Elisa as I waited for her to take me through there.

"Alright Scizor its time for you to rest, and you've more than earned it," Eric said as Scizor returned to his Pokeball.

Elisa patiently waited for his answer - and it seemed he could not decide. That was understandable, though, considering there were a good load of Pokemon in this area that were worth capturing. Not only that, but it was hard to decide whether you wanted primarily ice types, or fighting types.

"Hm that's a good question, I really don't know where to pick next, both areas sound interesting. I suppose I'll decide with a coin flip," Eric answered, reaching into his pocket once more. Well, that is certainly a quirky and cool way to do things, the ranger thought to herself, Letting luck do all the decision-making.

He flipped the coin, and it landed on heads. She wondered where that would be, guessing it was the caves. And, she was right! "Well I suppose I have my answer now; I'd like to go into one of the cave Elisa," he said afterwards, patiently waiting for her to take him through the extensive dungeon networks.

Elisa nodded, walking forward to lead him to the nearby cave. At first, her pace was quite fast - but then she slowed down, remembering Eric was there, not wanting to be very much ahead of him. Once they were kind of in stride, she felt much better.

The cave's entrance was eerie somehow, as snow felt from above. She gestured for her trainer to follow as she stepped into the cavern. The snow from above didn't fall, fortunately, and the area was quite well-lit. Elisa knew the landform would only get dim after a yard or two - hopefully, it would not be too bad.

"Right then, we will have little to no light as we venture further into the mountain's amazing caves. Remember, though, each cave is connected to one another somehow - directly or indirectly - and we'll be coming across many forks in the road - and, I think, every decision counts. Eventually, we'll make our way to the top, assuming you do choose the path that leads up there and not down below," Elisa informed the male teen, explaining how Mt. Oktori's caves 'worked'-slash-were positioned. "Your choice, though. If you want to go down underground, then you are free to do so. However, I do not know these caves much - my sincere apologies. The exact geographical locations of the system are unknown; my RDA does have a small map that has some of the caves, fortunately."

"Chop-Cho-Ma!" a growl echoes through the cave. Elisa did not panic, she recognized that Pokemon cry from anywhere - it was a Machop's. She remembered Superman, her Machamp - which she brought to this expedition, when he was still a young Pokemon. She smiled, waiting for the wild creature to appear from within the cave.

It came, looking just like any other Machop she had seen. It was a turtle-like bipedal creature that had gray skin, with three brown ridges on the top of its head. It had large red eyes, three thin rib-like stripes on the sides of its chest. The Superpower Pokemon had a small tail, and, oddly enough, had no tail.

"Any interest in this creature?" Elisa asked Eric. She doubted he wanted it, but who knows? He might actually want it after all, considering Machamp's strangth, plus it was Park policy to ask.

Elisa began to lead me through the cave system, informing me that the further we go the less light we will have, I didn't seem to think that was a problem though because the flames from Infernape's head could always shed some light if needed. Afterward Elisa went on to say that each cave is connected to each other in some way, and we'll come across many forks in the road, but as long as I made good decisions then we would end up at the top of the top of the mountain, rather than underground.

I thought to myself, "so then I suppose flipping a coin at each fork in the road won't be the best idea," and went on to laugh a little.

Suddenly we heard the cry of a Pokemon, it was no doubt a Machop, which appeared before us. "Any interest in this creature?" Elisa asked. "Hm well Machop is tempting, and a Machamp is very useful with its high attack and varied movepool. However I think I'm going to pass on this Machop because if I caught a second Pokemon in a row then I might think of leaving here before I see everything I can catch, and I'm having too much of a good time to do that. So shall we continue along?" I said to Elisa as I waited.

Though Machop were quite strong and nice creatures to have and train, there would still be other, for lack of better term, worthy Pokemon they would be encountering later on.

The female ranger turned to the fighting type, gently shaking her head. She then walked away, leading the trainer further into the cave. Carefully and slowly, she looked back over her shoulder to check on the wild entity. The Machop had a look of dismay and sadness on its face, but, nevertheless, turned and sped to the cold outdoors. Elisa breathed a sigh of relief, they were lucky the Pokemon hadn't tried to battle them.

After a few moments of traveling deeper into the cavern, they heard a low rumbling sound coming from within the mountain. Elisa's head spun around as her hand grabbed a flashlight from her bag, looking for the source of the noise. And, almost as fast as it had begun, the tumbling sound stopped. The white beam of light went around the area before stopping to rest on a creature leaping into the air.

The Pokemon that had caused the rolling sound was a small, blue, reptilian creature. Elisa did her best to stifle a giggle as she watched gravity pull back down to earth the wanna-be-flying-Pokemon. Its head seemed to be as hard as steel: a crest-like formation of three thick gray ridges that continue as a slope down its back from atop its head reflected the light from the flashlight. It also possessed a large, round snout and triangular eyes. The Rock Head Pokemon had iguana-like, yellow-colored circular reptilian ears, and a yellow jaw and teeth protruding from the mouth. The being had stubby arms, a triangular patch of yellow on its underside, and legs which had two toes.

"Would you like a Bagon - the "I want to Fly" Pokemon?" the ranger asked, turning to Eric as she focused the flashlight's beam to the dungeon's rocky ground.

OOC: Eh it beats my post(s)

As we walked away from Machop I began to think to myself of how useful Machop would have been, however I had greater hopes that I would run into a Timburr, Mienfoo, or Riolu.

After traveling a bit deeper down the cave we heard a low rumbling noise. Elisa turned and flashed her flashlight, looking for the source of the noise. The flashlight finally caught sight of a Pokemon leaping in the air, it was a blue colored Pokemon, with certain parts of it being yellow, and a head that was as tough as steel.

"Would you like a Bagon - the "I want to Fly" Pokemon?" Elisa asked me. "No thanks," I had said as soon as she asked. "I know that Bagon is a very useful Pokemon, however it would be pointless for me to attempt to catch it since I already own a Salamence. I don't think this Bagon will allow us to escape as easy as Machop did though so just in case it doesn't I'd like to buy a Pokedoll," I said to Elisa while reaching in my pocket to grab some money just in case.

Eric declined the offer immediately, shaking his head. The ranger nodded as she listened to his view of the encounter - he knew Bagon were very useful creatures, however he already head a Salamence. She mouthed an "Oh..." at him as he grabbed a small wad of cash.

Elisa took the money, stuffing it in her bag as she retrieved a Pokedoll. She gave the toy one glance before tossing it at the Rock Head Pokemon. It was in the shape of a Shelgon - its evolved form. The creature growled its name once before running off to get the doll. Works every time, she thought as she led the trainer away.

They did not encounter anything for a while, the cave growing darker and darker. Before long, the flashlight's beam of white energy could only shed some light on a small portion in front of them.

As they came across a fork in the mountain, Elisa motioned for Eric to pause. She gestured over to the two paths, one slightly bigger and wider than the other. She took a step forwards, examining the road.

"Hmm... This smaller one has a slightly upward slope to it, though it still may lead to underground," she told him, pointing to the left path. "Where would you like to go?"

Elisa took the money from me and tossed a Shelgon Pokedoll at Bagon to distract it so we could pass.

We went on and came across a fork in the mountain. Elisa explained how the left side went slightly upward, but could still lead me unground before asking which path I want to take.

"Ugh, I hate to make decisions like this because I tend to end up wrong," I said "I guess lets go to the left, won't know where either path goes until I take one of them anyway," I said to Elisa hoping I made the right choice.
