"Man, what a slow day," I said to myself, as I yawned. It was a pretty boring day with nothing going on. I hated being bored, because when I was bored all I would do was sleep.

"Oh well, I guess I'll just take a nap," I said, but before I had the chance to go to sleep I got a message telling me I was needed to take someone on a run through the park.

"Lets see here; name is Clara Feliday, going to the Botanic Gardens, repelling Grass-types, and bringing along a Lilligant, Gardevoir, and Floatzel. So a Normal-type hunter huh? Well then, she'll get along perfectly with you won't she?" I said to my Ambipom, reading this trainers info.

"Alright Ambipom lets get a move on before she gets here," I said, leading my Ambipom along the way to outside. I had never been to the Botanic Gardens before, though I had heard it was a very relaxing place to be. I looked forward to going, because it was a place like Ambipom's natural habitat.

Clara sighed as she sat down to her computer, at her home - which Argent, a Ranger at the National Park - shared with her, whenever he came home. They both lived in Johto: Olivine City, to be precise, and that was very near Argent's parents. They couldn't find anywhere else to live when they were both searching for a house, and Olivine City seemed like a good choice for both of them - Clara liked that there was a great view of the sea from the Lighthouse, especially at night-time when the Lighthouse was being powered, yet the stars were out and it was a generally romantic spot, despite the somewhat mechanical appearance of the top floor of the lighthouse. She also enjoyed that there was the Battle Frontier nearby, as well as a beach completely filled with white sand and the most perfect tides that came in every now and then. Her Pokémon, for the most part, also enjoyed their surroundings, but Clara got bored with being alone, so she went on adventures while in Johto.

Knowing the full nature of the National Park, and how fun it was there, Clara had decided to submit a request to go on a run - she still had supplies from the last time she had went there, she remembered. She set her Gardevoir, Aurelia, to finding her stuff for her - she was too lazy to do it herself for once, and also kind of excited that she'd be going back there. She had a spare Grass-type repellent, she remembered, and thought that it might be a good idea to use it at the Botanic Gardens to see what Normal-types she could find there, and was going to be bringing three of her Pokémon with her - her Lilligant, Amarantha, Aurelia the Gardevoir and Assan the Floatzel. She became aware that all of her Pokémon's nicknames began with 'A', but found that more funny than anything else, and it seemed to fuel her want to be going to the National Park even further, so she quickly got her stuff together, as well as the two Poké Balls that belonged to Amarantha and Assan, although she had the two of them out of their balls anyway. However, she recalled her Floatzel and Lilligant.

"Aurelia, could you teleport me to the National Park? Well, the Botanic Gardens outpost if you can manage it."

Of course, Clara, Aurelia answered politely, taking her trainer's hand and closing her eyes. In a bright flash of white which neither of them saw, they were being whisked away through a space that none of them knew, until they spun into existence a great distance away from where they previously were. It seemed they had landed in the middle of an office, and Clara blushed, not meaning to have made an entrance like that - she had been hoping that they would arrive at the gates just by the outpost, not inside the actual outpost itself. However, they had arrived inside the outpost, and Clara wasn't even sure if this was the Botanic Gardens outpost. One or two of the people working there giggled quietly, but others smiled encouragingly, but it was a voice that rose from the back of the office that attracted Clara's attention the most - it was the voice of her boyfriend, one Argent Silverswift.

"Clara?! What are you doing here?" Argent said, leaping from his seat to go and greet his friend. She smiled gently at him, and it turned into a rather pleasant surprise for the both of them.

"Silly, I decided to go on another Park run. It's rather fun here - I might stick around for a while."

"Hang on, I'll check if your run's been claimed - if it has, I suppose I'd better get you out of here." He returned to his computer for a few moments, and confirming what he had already thought, he ushered Clara from the building and smiled at her, pushing her playfully towards the gate, but not hard enough to make her fall or anything. HE WASN'T A WOMAN ABUSER. At any rate, Clara had to wait at the gate for some person called 'Eric', so she supposed that she had better wait there for a while. To let her Pokémon get some of the fresh air that seemed to be abound here, with all the brilliant scenery, such as lush grass and fragrant flowers, she tossed the two Poké Balls she had clipped to her belt into the air gracefully, and they burst open in mid-air, revealing two Pokémon - an elegant Lilligant, who twirled in appreciation of the wildness, and a Floatzel, who was sniffing at the air reproachfully, smelling that there were Grass-types near, which reminded Clara that she should use her repellent.

Grabbing it from her backpack, she sprayed it into the air - away from Amarantha so that she wouldn't feel any discomfort. Then, she flipped out her Poképlayer, deciding that she'd play her Miltank Voice Disk whilst she was waiting, so that Miltank would be attracted towards them before they started moving very far inwards, so she could get into the swing of what was happening before very long into their run.

OOC: Yes I am awful at NBPs

IC: I got outside with Ambipom, and it was actually only a matter of seconds before I saw Clara. I was surprised to see she was here before I was even outside, until I noticed her Gardevoir. I thought to myself, ah telportation, of course.

"Hello there, I'm Eric, and I'm going to be your ranger for this run," I said to Clara. Hopefully this run was going to be a rather successful one; it was always nice to see a trainer encounter some Pokemon they wanted, and based on the information I was given it was clear that Clara was after a Miltank, Kangaskhan, and Happiny on this run. And specifically right now she had her Pokeplayer out, and it had been playing the cry of a Miltank. That meant she wanted to make Miltank the first Pokemon she encountered.

"Alright, you have your Pokeplayer out, and I see your Pokemon are all here and ready, so lets get started," I said as I waved Clara to follow me. A trip to the Gardens did sound pretty relaxing. It would be nice to just be out in an open field with the sun shining.

We got to the front gate of the Botanic Gardens, and everything was set; Clara had already used her Grass-type repellent, and she had her Miltank Voice Disc playing, whether or not it worked though would be found out soon. We started to walk around through here, and it was a really great place; the grass was green, the sun was shinning, there was a nice calm breeze, and it wasn't long before a Pokemon came our way.

In the distance, I could a hear a faint moo. I couldn't help but think to myself of what this was. "Hey you wait here for a second, I'm gonna go look ahead a little," I said to Clara as I went ahead. Though, I didn't need to go much at all, the Pokemon was making its way towards us. It was a female only Pokemon, a Pokemon that resembled a cow, it had small horns, what looked like a black hood, and black spots on its back.

"Well, you're pretty lucky that that Voice Disc worked Clara. I'm sure I don't need even need to ask if you want to battle this Miltank," I said to her.

A few moments later after Clara had played her Voice Disk, a seemingly surprised-looking Ranger was walking down the path quickly towards her, and she smiled widely at him - just like Argent, she was a rather nice person. However, Clara was not as tolerant as her boyfriend, and didn't have that same way of being kind to people as he did. Nevertheless, she could be quite kind when she wanted to be, and was capable of nearly anything, although she could cut you into pieces. Clara listened to her Ranger as she spoke, eager to meet someone who could potentially be a new friend - while not always kind, Clara was popular back in her teenage years, which weren't actually so far away. She hadn't lost contact with her friends, though, she just didn't get to see them face-to-face as often, and she was very glad that she always had company, whether it be in the shape of a Pokémon or a human, although she didn't admit her dislike for being loneliness ever, and would confront anyone who suggested that particular notion to her.

"Hello there, I'm Eric, and I'm going to be your ranger for this run," the man told her, and Clara's smile twisted into a slight smirk, but then reformed back into a genuine smile once more, as she now knew this Ranger's name, and could perhaps pretend to Argent that she knew more of the staff around the National Park than he thought she did, although Argent sometimes caught her out on her little games that she liked to play, although sometimes she could carry it off quite easily - however, that was mostly when Argent wasn't paying attention, due to being sleepy or something similar, and he was most agreeable then. As of late, however, Argent knew what she tried to do whenever she brought the topic of National Park stuff, and he caught her out sometimes before she even began doing anything. She sighed a little, thinking of how he outsmarted her a lot of the time, but not all the time. Clara was not a complete airhead, but she came off as one from time to time. She was determined to remain perfectly dignified on this run, however.

"Hi, Eric! My name, as you know, is Clara - Clara Feliday, of course. I'm mainly here to see what kinds of Pokémon I can find - Normal-types, that is. Although I do like Grass-types, Normal-types are, for the most part, cuter, and they're abundant in the Botanic Gardens, so I came up with the idea of getting a few from the National Park. I am, for now, aiming to get the rarer ones, but they all seem to be so cool, so I'd catch pretty much anything that comes our way if the Pokémon on the Voice Disks don't appear. I'm not particularly fussy, to be honest, so that's basically it! Shall we go on?"

"All right, you have your PokéPlayer out, and I see your Pokemon are all here and ready, so let's get started," Eric replied, and Clara tingled with excitement - she'd finally be getting started! She had been looking forward to this for a while, so, following Eric, she called her Pokémon to stick near her, which they did - Aurelia walked quietly by her side, her feet making no noise on the path beneath, unlike Clara, who was clacking along in converse, a brand of shoe which she found to be very stylish, so of course she adopted a pair and wore them most days - they were a faded, light blue. The rest of her apparel consisted in grey shorts, a chequered baby blue shirt, and her dark brown hair was tied back in a messy kind of ponytail. In many ways, she still looked quite young - well, she was young, clearly. She was twenty years old, so she still was 'allowed' - by fashion standards, of course - to look young, or fashionable, or whatever them girls called it. IT'S HARD TO KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS BECAUSE I'M NOT A GIRL.

At any rate, the weather was rather pleasant, the surroundings were stunning, and the air was fresh. She was looking forward to this, and she had already played her Miltank Voice Disk, so perhaps one might turn up for her - and then she could really get into the swing of things with a battle. She didn't know who she would use yet. Looking up into the sky, she placed one hand on her forehead to shelter her eyes from the bright light, and decided that perhaps her Lilligant, Amarantha, could make the best of the sunlight, although she supposed a Sunny Day would be in order, so that she could take full advantage of the sunlight with her Chlorophyll ability - it made her twice as fast and agile as she usually was, meaning she could run rings around any opponent with minimal effort. She supposed that, unless the opponent had moves that could potentially damage her a lot, Amarantha should be used in battle. Aurelia could be more of a cleric to her team, healing up injuries with those healing moves that Clara knew she could utilise quite well.

"Moooo," came a noise from a certain distance, although Clara couldn't exactly tell how far. She put her hands on her hips as Eric, her Ranger, told her to wait there as he went to investigate what it was. Quite obviously, it was a Miltank, which was quite exciting in itself. Only Miltank made those distinguishable cries, so Clara was staying on her toes to see if she could battle the Miltank or not. Aurelia also seemed to be anticipating something, although Clara wasn't sure what exactly it was that she was waiting for. At any rate, a battle with Miltank was quite obviously impending, so she waited rather patiently for Eric to return to her side to deliver the good news, or bring her to the Miltank or something, so she could battle one. It was quite lucky of her to find one, especially after just using the Voice Disk and just beginning the run - perhaps it was a stroke of beginner's luck. Who knew? Clearly she didn't, but she hoped someone out there did, and perhaps they could throw some more of that good luck her way throughout the rest of her run.

However, she had gone too far with this in her head - Eric wasn't moving very far on... rather, the Miltank was making its way towards them. Large and primarily pink, with cream patches and underside, as well as protruding pink teats that stuck out quite strangely. It also had black horns and tough hooves, looking like quite a bulky Pokémon, and this would make a very good addition to Clara's team, so before Eric had even asked - like she knew he would - she had decided that she would battle it. Of course, why wouldn't she? She had taken the trouble to buy a Miltank Voice Disk, so of course she would want to capture the end product of all of that money spent. She wondered if the other two Pokémon she was aiming for - Happiny and Kangaskhan - would come out to her quite as easily, although she expected that they wouldn't. Not to worry, though, as she could probably have a lucky day and encounter the two through the sheer chance that the Voice Disk would work in attracting the Pokémon, much like it had with Miltank - so she thought.

SHE WASN'T AWARE THAT IT WAS REALLY SOME UNKNOWN FORCE BY THE NAME OF EBAIL THAT CONTROLLED ALL THE POKÉMON THAT SHE EVER ENCOUNTERED, ENCOUNTERING OR WOULD ENCOUNTER THROUGH THE ENTIRETY OF HER RUN AND THAT SHE WAS BEING PORTRAYED BY A PERSON OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER TO HER WHILE EBAIL TOOK HOLD OF THE PERSON CALLED ERIC THAT WAS SO NICE TO HER AND LEADING HER THROUGH THE RUN BECAUSE THAT WAS WHAT ROLE-PLAYING WAS ALTHOUGH SHE DIDN'T KNOW THAT AS SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE INCREDIBLE ABILITY OF BREAKING THROUGH THE FOURTH WALL OR ANYTHING BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS AND OVERPOWERED AND STUFF AND AM I JUST RAMBLING NOW BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE SO I'LL STOP NOW.

"Well, you're pretty lucky that that Voice Disc worked, Clara. I'm sure I don't need even need to ask if you want to battle this Miltank," Eric said, and Clara smiled warmly at him.

"Oh, of course I want to battle this thing! Amarantha, you're up!" she called excitedly, her Lilligant dashing in front of her, waiting for her to start issuing commands so she could battle. "Okay, firstly... Sunny Day! That'll boost your speed and agility, so you can outspeed Miltank by miles, making our task of capturing her easier. Then, afterwards, Quiver Dance - I like that move, plus it makes you really strong. After that... I suppose you could try Energy Ball, but do be careful, please! We'll see how this plan goes, and we'll make another one shortly after you've done it all. I'm sure you'll be fine, though!" Clara was smiling widely at this stage - she loved battling. More than Argent, at any rate, who preferred to be doing other things, although he supposed he did like the odd battle from time to time, especially battles with Wild Pokémon in the Park. That was, in fact, very entertaining, as you never knew what they'd be doing, what was coming around the corner in a battle. It seemed that all the Pokémon there were very creative tacticians.

In order to use Sunny Day, Amarantha would raise her deep green, arm-like leaves into the air, and they'd glow white for a few moments. Two white orbs would be released from them into the sky, and that'd increase the intensity of the sunlight, giving more warmth as well as a boost to Amarantha due to her Chlorophyll ability. Quiver Dance was a very strange move, one that Clara didn't see often, even if she did have a Lilligant. Her Pokémon would dance in a mystic, alluring way, gracefully twisting and turning to make herself stronger, and she felt lighter and much more powerful too. Then, if the plan was going, well, to plan, she'd continue on to using Energy Ball, a special attack which consisted of a gloopy green orb of energy. She created it in between her leaves, and it would swell up to quite a large size, twisting and revolving in mid-air until she fired it. On impact, it could even force the opponent's special defence to drop, which was certainly a good thing. Afterwards, Clara wasn't aware just yet of what she was going to be doing in order to make the capture of the Miltank a lot easier for herself - perhaps Sleep Powder?

She wondered how the opponent Pokémon - and the Ranger, too, in fact - would react to her strategy.

Clearly I had taken a very crazy trainer on a run. But still I was a ranger, and no matter how crazy the trainer may seem it was my job to see them through on this run, even if they just ramble to themself a lot, or talk to themself.

"Oh, of course I want to battle this thing! Amarantha, you're up!" Clara said, very excitedly as she called up her Lilligant to battle. I was really interested to see Lilligant battle here, because this is where wild Lilligant, as well as Petilil call home.

I'm sure you'll be fine, though!" Clara commanded her Pokemon.

Geez, three moves in one combo, seems like a bit much, but meh what do I know, I thought to myself.

First up came Sunny Day, this wasn't so hard for Lilligant to use. As it was the sun was already shinning, so using Sunny Day wouldn't take much effort at all, all Lilligant needed to do was intensify the suns rays, a simple enough task for a Grass-type Pokemon. Sunny Day would make the sun, or the effects of a sun shinning brightly for a few turns. This would do a couple of things; it would raise the power of Fire-type moves, weaken the power of Water-type moves, prevent Pokemon from freezing, making the chance of Thunder hitting less, make the move Solarbeam work without waiting, and it would even activate some abilities such as Lilligant's. Lilligant picked up its head, and gave the sun a sharp glare, and released two white orbs of energy from its arms; within seconds the whole area started to get brighter, it got hotter, and Lilligant began to grow, symbolizing its ability was kicking in.

Next up came Quiver Dance, it was a unique move. It was a move only know by butterfly, or moth type Bug Pokemon, but Lilligant was the except to this rule. The users body would start to shake a little, and they would begin a very odd dance. The user would twist and turn their body, and would flap their wings a good amount if they had them. When it was all said and done the Pokemon using Quiver Dance would finish with a spin, and they would now have boosted their Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by one stage. Lilligant start to do the dance, but as it was finishing Miltank had seen enough, it got up, and was preparing its own attack. It threw itself in the air at Lilligant, but before it was able to reach it Lilligant was on to the third part of its combo.

Energy Ball was the last thing Lilligant was to use. The user would create a green ball of energy, in this energy you would also notice a small white ball of energy. The energy within the white ball had the power to drop the Special Defense of the Pokemon it hits by one stage. Lilligant fired the attack at Miltank as it was in midair, and while the attack seemed to do significant damage to Miltank, it wasn't able to knock it off its course, and the cow Pokemon landed right on top of Lilligant.

"Oh, that's got to hurt," I said, watching as Lilligant was on the ground with a dazed look in its eyes, it couldn't be helped, you'd be the same too if you just got hit with Body Slam by a Pokemon that crashed into you from the air.

"So, that was a pretty good combo you did, and Miltank is already hurting kinda bad. What's next?" I asked Clara.

Amarantha swung herself forwards, almost sure of herself, yet still gentle enough to fool the opponent into thinking that she could be easily overpowered. She raised her leaf-like arms into the air, and they began to glow white. Two orbs were released high into the sky, and then the sun's rays appeared to be far more concentrated. Amarantha smiled a little, although she had no mouth to speak of - SHE WAS SMILING INSIDE, OKAY? She knew that now the sun was more concentrated, her Chlorophyll ability would activate and she'd be much faster and much more agile than she was before the Chlorophyll ability would have activated, and then she'd be a lean, mean, fighting machine FULL OF LOVELY DOVELY STUFF. Amarantha's Sunny Day achieved various things on a team, but the only thing that Clara was counting on would be the activation of Chlorophyll, Amarantha's wonderful ability.

Next came Quiver Dance, a move which was apparently exclusive to Bug-types... but the Lilligant species were the only exception to this - that and they learned it earlier than all the Bug-types did. It was a really beautiful move, and a very unique one, too. She quivered all over, and then began to twist and turn her body, but as she was finishing, the Miltank began her charge. Leaping up into the air, she began to fall down towards Amarantha. However, finishing her dance with a spin, she began twisting her arm-leaves about, and an orb was formed in the centre of the strange circle around which her arms were twisting. A green, gloopy sphere was shot towards the Miltank, and it impacted hard, although it didn't force the Miltank off-course. The Miltank landed right on Amarantha, and she cried out in pain as she had 75 kilograms of Miltank beef crushing her frail body.

"So, that was a pretty good combo you did, and Miltank is already hurting kinda bad. What's next?"

As Amarantha got up and dusted herself off, Miltank returning to its previous spot, Clara applauded her performance so far. "Thanks, Eric. Good job, Am! I think we can begin to finish this up without a problem. I'd like you to use Leaf Storm - be sure to tone it down a little so it doesn't knock the Miltank out - then quickly turn it into a Sleep Powder to finish the battle off. Her being asleep will help us capture her. Okay, let's go!"

    [insert ebail's battle post here]

Clara took a Super Ball from her backpack hastily, and then flung it towards the now-weakened Miltank. YAY CAPTURE PLZ

If this combo wouldn't be enough to make Miltank be captured, then nothing would. Leaf Storm was an incredibly powerful attack, one that could easily knock Pokemon out. It did come with a side effect though, upon being used it would drop the users Special Attack by two stages. It was usually a late battle move, or something used and then the Pokemon would switch out. It could have easily knocked Miltank out, especially with Lilligant's boost in Special Attack, but maybe it was trained enough where hearing Clara's command to use it holding back some of its power would have prevented it from finishing Miltank.

Lilligant formed the vortex of razor sharp leafs, and set its sights on Miltank. Miltank wasn't about to just stand there, and be defeated though. It turned its two hands into fists, and in each charged up a Fire Punch to hit as many of the leafs as it could, because of this Miltank was able to escape a lot of the attack, but not all of it, and it still felt damage. Miltank also used up a lot of energy using two Fire Punches. Clara could have easily just attempted to capture Miltank now, but she wasn't happy with just this. No, she had to do more.

Lilligant was told to use Sleep Powder next, to put Miltank to sleep and make it easier to catch. Miltank wasn't gonna sit there and just take this though. It charged up a dark purple ball of energy to be defiant one last time before the battle ended. Within this ball were lighter shades of purple, no doubt part of the side effect that could drop Special Defense. Miltank fired off the Shadow Ball, and it hit Lilligant, but this gave Miltank no time to avoid Sleep Powder, and so it fell into a deep sleep.

Clara seeing this tossed her Super Ball at Miltank, and the poor cow had no way of fighting to get out of the ball, and it was captured. "Congrats Clara, you now own a Miltank. Now I'll just go grab this, and we can be on our way whenever you're ready," I said as I put Miltank's Pokeball in my pocket.

Amarantha stepped forwards on Clara's command once more, and then it was time for the real performance, and Clara knew that this was the epicentre of the ending for a good battle - although Amarantha had mostly outmanoeuvred the opponent Miltank for most of the battle, so it wasn't exactly a long one, it was certainly enjoyable and had gotten Clara in the mood for whatever was coming her way next. Amarantha raised her leaf-like arms into the air, and closed her eyes, beginning to glow with a forest-green aura as a whirling vortex of leaves formed around her, spinning in the air as they shot towards the Miltank, who grinned in her own little way and charged up a Fire Punch on her fists, slamming her way through most of the whirling leaves, and Clara was thoroughly impressed - although the Miltank had been thoroughly weakened, she was still a fighter and that was what impressed Clara. However, some of the Leaf Storm did hit her, and then she had been weakened even more, and Clara decided that it should be ended.

"Sleep Powder, now," Clara whispered to herself, clutching her hands to her chest in anticipation. Amarantha's crown-like flower on top of her head burst out with a shining blue powder, which flew towards the Miltank at high speed. However, the Miltank had also charged up a little something - Shadow Ball. It hit Amarantha, but it had given itself no time to evade Sleep Powder, thus it dropped to the floor, asleep. At this point, Clara felt it was time to capture the cow Pokémon. Bringing out a Super Ball from her backpack, she quickly flung it towards the Miltank, and it arced towards the sleeping pink body. Swallowing the Miltank in a flash of red light, the Super Ball fell to the ground and rolled around, tilting once... twice... three times! A pinging noise rang through the area, and Clara found that she had captured the Miltank already! It was certainly a good thing to do, and Clara was extremely excited to have captured her. It seemed that the Miltank would be a good Pokémon to train, and so she couldn't wait to capture two more Pokémon as partners.

"Congrats, Clara, you now own a Miltank. Now, I'll just go grab this, and we can be on our way whenever you're ready," Eric said to her, simply adding to her excitement. She nodded towards him in agreement with him, and also in thanks for congratulating her. As he retrieved the Ball, Clara smiled and nodded once more, ready to move onwards. She eyed his pocket momentarily, and, noticing the bulge where the Ball was, she began moving on, satisfied. In the meantime, she picked out her PokéPlayer once more, and swapped the Miltank disk for a Kangaskhan disk, pressing the play button. The cry of Kangaskhan rang out into the area, and Clara hoped that one would turn up soon. She felt a bit lucky today still, even after encountering and capturing the Miltank - most people, if something similar happened to them, would believe that their luck was out for the most part, but Clara was convinced that she would be able to at least get some more things that she'd have liked from the Botanic Gardens.

HOPEFULLY EBAIL HAD ROLLED BUOYSEL SOME GOOD STUFF. ;]

Clara swapped out her Miltank Voice Disc, for her Kangaskhan Voice Disc. I had to wonder though, would lightning strike twice? I guess we were about to find out. She hit the power button of the Pokeplayer, and from it the shrill sounds of a Kangaskhan's cry came out. We waited a few moments, but nothing was coming our way, clearly the Pokeplayer had failed this time around.

"That's too bad," I said to Clara. "Lets continue on, maybe we'll run into something else that you want, I dunno."

We continued to walk along the grassy plains, and I stuck my head all over trying to find a Pokemon for Clara to battle. I knew she didn't want Grass-types, so that left Normal, and Bug-types able to be captured. The only question now was, if I were a Pokemon where would I be? No sooner than beginning to think did I hear some buzzes coming from a tree to my west. I ran over to see the commotion, and something had been waiting there.

"Hey Clara, I don't know if you like bumblebees, but how about this Combee?"

    OOC; Bleh, Combee. 1,250 - 500 = 750 thx.

Clara sighed as her Voice Disk didn't seem to be working, yet Eric still led her onwards, hopefully in the search of a Kangaskhan, such as one she would have liked. However, although she had wanted the meeting to be inevitable, it probably was not to come to pass, so Clara shook her head sadly. Removing the Kangaskhan disk from the Voice Player, she looked up at Eric, walking along behind him quietly, hoping that soon they'd encounter something to battle, at least. Perhaps something useless, perhaps something good - she'd find out soon enough, she supposed. Exhaling some more air heavily, she heaved herself onwards, but soon enough, something comprised of three hexagonal-shaped creatures appeared before her, and Clara was clever enough to recognise it as a Combee. She was, of course, native to Sinnoh, having gone to Johto in search of a future adventure, so she could recognise most of the Sinnoh Pokémon by sight at this stage.

"Hey Clara - I don't know if you like bumblebees, but how about this Combee?"

"No thanks," Clara said, handing over some money to Eric for the purchase of a Pokédoll. "I'd rather escape, to be honest. Hopefully there's something I'd want a little more out there."

Popping in her Happiny Voice Disk into the PokéPlayer, she smiled as the happy sound of the small, rotund, pink Pokémon rang through the clear air - she could see that the Combee certainly looked interested in the noise, but she wasn't really going to concern herself.

"No thanks, "I'd rather escape, to be honest. Hopefully there's something I'd want a little more out there," Clara said to me as she handed me money for a Pokedoll. Of course she didn't actually say she wanted to buy a Pokedoll, but meh, women. I pulled out one of my Pokedolls that I had on hand, and threw it to the bee. Combee looked happy at the sight of this Pokedoll, and hopped onto it.

During this time Clara swapped out her Kangaskhan Voice Disc, for her Happiny one. She played the sound of the small nursing Pokemon, but alas none came into sight. "Let's head on, maybe next time you'll have some better luck," I said, as I waved Clara on to keep going.

We went along, and nothing was showing up. It was a pretty open field so it wasn't like everything was hiding, maybe everything was just napping in a tree, or something. Just as soon as I had this thought though a Pokemon came clear into our view. It was a small cat Pokemon, it was half pink, half cream, and had three pink like shapes coming off of its tail, each with a little ball on the end. Its face resembled a crescent shape, which was making me hungry for a nice crescent roll.

CLARA WALKED ALONG HUFFILY. She knew at this stage, since nothing interesting had turned up, that nothing that she would want would turn up soonish. She wondered whether she'd have any luck in encountering something she'd want, but it clearly wasn't going to be that she was going to encounter a Happiny, nor a Kangaskhan, two things which she would have really liked from the run, but probably wasn't going to encounter at this rate. She didn't mind much, though, as she knew there would be plenty of other opportunities for her to catch similar Pokémon, or even the same Pokémon, but those opportunities probably wouldn't arise for a while, but she wouldn't concern herself about that for the moment. She'd concentrate on what was happening on this park run, not what was going to be happening in the future that was possibly very very far away, so it was with those thoughts that she moved onwards.

At that point, a small, pink, cat-like Pokémon popped out of the blue - or rather green - but it was not a Happiny. It was a Skitty, as far as Clara could see. Clara couldn't have been fussed with messing around with kitty-cats, so she decided she'd leave the cat for the moment - Skitty were fairly common outside of National Park, so she'd have no bother capturing one if she felt that she necessarily needed one, but she didn't feel that she needed or even wanted one at the moment, so she decided to tell Eric that she didn't want to battle or capture it.

"Would you care to battle this Skitty?"

"'Fraid not, Eric. Can we move on?" she asked quietly, smiling endearingly towards the young man.

    OOC: Alright for crappy posts

"'Fraid not, Eric. Can we move on?" Clara asked me, rather quietly. "Well sure, we can try to move on," I told her. I guess Clara had her heart set on Miltank, which she already captured, Kangaskhan, and Happiny. Though her Kangaskhan, and Happiny Voice Disc's didn't have the same luck that her Miltank one had, but maybe if we were in a different spot they would work better.

We tried to walk away, but as we tried I heard a faint growl. As we tried to walk further, the growl was still continuing to follow us. I turned around, and there had been Skitty, it had been following us, not ready to let Clara get away that easily. I didn't know why Skitty wasn't ready to see Clara go, but for whatever reason it wasn't ready.

"Well, we couldn't get away from it, but you could try again, or buy another Pokedoll, or if you changed your mind you could just battle it," I told her.

"Well sure, we can try to move on," Eric told her, leading her away from the Skitty. Clara was quite pleased to be able to get past the Skitty quite easily, but it seemed that Skitty's parade wasn't over yet, and Clara sighed as the Skitty began to hiss lowly, spinning around to face it. The Skitty had been following both of them, and Clara sighed - she'd have to try getting away from it again, or paying for yet another Pokédoll - she was pretty sure she'd be running out of money soon, though. Sighing, she decided to buy one anyway - she supposed she had plenty of money on her. So, delving into her backpack for some money, she handed it over to Eric, who, in turn, would produce a Pokédoll and then they could escape from the Skitty and get on with the run - she seriously didn't want to capture a Skitty, although it was absolutely adorable and Delcatty was actually a decent Pokémon, but nevertheless she still wanted to just get on and leave.

"Okay, hopefully, with the Pokédoll, this will work."

    OOC: Gah, sorry for short posts. ]; 11,500 - 500 = 11,000.

"Okay, hopefully, with the Pokédoll, this will work," Clara said, as she handed me five-hundred monies for a Pokedoll. I took said doll, and threw it over at Skitty, who happily took it, and dashed off with the doll. "Alright, now we can continue along," I said to Clara.

We kept walking, but Clara hadn't gone ahead to use one of her Voice Disc's, maybe she just forgot, or maybe she didn't care to since they didn't work the first time. Either way though one thing was for certain, we were bound to encounter more Pokemon. Would they be rare, or not though? Well, that was something we, well her not me, needed to wait to find out, and she was about to find one out right now. Another small pink Pokemon appeared before us, like Skitty it was also mildly cat like in appearance. It had a very thin tail, and tiny body. It was a very rare Pokemon indeed, one that almost never showed itself to humans.

"Well Clara, it might not be something you can capture, but you must admit seeing this Mew is something incredible right?"

Eric, as she knew he would, produced a pink Clefairy-resembling Pokédoll, and tossed it towards the growingly annoying Skitty. The Skitty pounced on the toy, and dragged it off with it into some unknown place. Clara couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the toy, even if it didn't have feelings - if it was real, then it'd have to put up with the annoying torments of the kitten Pokémon, who had already pushed Clara's patience to the limit. It was not to worry, however, as the Skitty quickly disappeared out of sight and was on its way to only Arceus knew where. At any rate, Clara could move on, and looked to her Ranger for clarification. He spoke briefly to her, saying basically that they could continue on their run, and so off they walked down the Gardens, Clara still taking in the beautiful surroundings around her - of course, she had been here before, but the Botanic Gardens was probably the most picturesque place in the National Park, and, if she could, Clara would have liked to have stopped for a picnic at some point during the run.

Soon enough, their next encounter appeared - and Clara couldn't believe her eyes. There, spinning around in the air, twisting playfully, was a pink cat-like Pokémon, only very unlike Skitty in the way that it was much thinner, had a thinner tail, and, well, was floating in the middle of the air. Clara directed her Pokémon's attentions to the strange creature, and they all appreciated it a lot. The Mew dashed about in the air, and Clara couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh, how cute!" The Mew looked directly at her and let out a small mewing/giggling noise, Clara couldn't distinguish which. She smiled gratefully towards the Pokémon - apparently, Mew almost never showed itself to humans, and Clara was so grateful for the opportunity to meet one.

"Hey, Mew!" She waved a hand in the air, quickly slinging her camera into one hand. Mew looked directly at her once more, and, seeing her camera now pressed to her face, Mew blinked a few times as the camera flashed, and then floated forwards gently to touch the camera with its nose curiously. Clara smiled gently, raising a hand to touch the New Species Pokémon. She got away with touching it with just a small fingertip, but then the Mew flew back up into the air once more.

"Well, Clara, it might not be something you can capture, but you must admit seeing this Mew is something incredible, right?"

"It really is, Eric. I think the Mew's going to leave in a bit, though, so we should get a move on. I don't want to disturb it much more," Clara said gently.

"Hey, Mew!" Clara yelled, as she pulled out her camera to snag a picture of this Legendary. After she got a picture, she turned back to me in response to what I said to her, and said, "it really is, Eric. I think the Mew's going to leave in a bit, though, so we should get a move on. I don't want to disturb it much more."

"That's a good idea," I replied to her. As we started to take off, so did Mew. We went in one direction, and Mew in the other. We kept walking, but I had to wonder what was up next. For whatever reason, a Legendary Pokemon would seem to attract a rare Pokemon to show up. I had seen it happen in one of my other runs, Zapdos lured out a Porygon2, but I had to ask would it happen this time around. Well we had kept walking, and I got my answer. I had to wonder where these Pokemon were coming from though, I mean there wasn't a lot of area's they could hide in, but nonetheless a new one showed up right in front of us. Before us had been an oval shaped, and yet again, pink Pokemon. It wasn't a Pokemon of battle, but rather one of defense. It was also a very rare, and lucky Pokemon, and encountering one, let alone capturing it, was all up to chance.

"That's a good idea," replied Eric softly, and he began to lead Clara off from Mew, down into a different part of the Gardens. As they walked in one direction, Clara looked back to watch Mew for another few moments, but the pink, thin, cat-like Pokémon was already floating off in a different direction to the two of them, and Clara sighed - that was probably a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and she couldn't help wondering if she should have made something more of it. Should she have ran after it dramatically into the afternoon sun to see if it would lead her on an adventure? Should she have interacted with it more to see if they could bond somehow? What should she have done? She was pretty sure that the picture she snagged would be something to show the children and grandchildren when she had them - well, that was thinking pretty far ahead, she supposed. At any rate, she didn't know if she had done the right thing when she had encountered Mew, but she guessed that she had done what her instincts had told her, and maybe that was good enough.

At any rate, she felt that she should stop thinking about what she could have done with Mew, as it was over and already history. She had a keepsake from their encounter, and had touched Mew - she was probably one of the only trainers to have ever touched Mew, and she knew she must be proud of that, or what else would she have? She knew she had to tell Argent as soon as the run was over, too, and that would maybe be soon enough, depending on what she encountered. However, she knew that runs couldn't be rushed, and so she simply kept following Eric - perhaps he'd lead her to something good, something that perhaps she would want. Of course, she wasn't going to get her hopes up, as the chances of encountering something you'd desperately want were very low indeed, but she kept the possibility that maybe she'd encounter a Happiny evolution in mind, or perhaps something else that she hadn't brought a Voice Disk for - something that wasn't that damn annoying Skitty, hopefully. She smiled at her own humour, her footwear slapping upon the trail that Eric was leading her on.

Also, a new thought had came into her mind - she remembered Argent telling her something about the Park, something about Legendary Pokémon. It was apparently an old kind of thing that all Rangers observed from time to time... she tried to remember what it was. Rubbing her head slightly, almost as if that would bring up the memory of what he said, she was thinking random things in exasperation, still trying to get up the memory of what he had said - perhaps it was important to her, but the thought had sprung into her mind, and she didn't easily let unsatisfied thoughts go. She supposed that she was kind of feisty that way, but she didn't suppose that there was a lil' boy called Buoysel making her think that for the sake of raising the MCR for capturing a Chansey that she did not yet know she was encountering, but Buoysel did, seeing as he had read the post before this one and saw that the current encounter was a Chansey, meaning that Clara would be encountering one simply because Eric/Ebail had rolled it for her, and decided to place it here on the encounter list. Yay.

Oh, now she remembered! "Look, I've been on a few runs, and yeah, the trainers have encountered Legendary Pokémon before - and you know what? In every run where a Legendary Pokémon has been encountered, directly after it comes usually a really rare Pokémon, and it's usually a Pokémon they're searching for. It's quite cool to witness it all, really, and it's taking a part in everything, first-hand. It's amazing, actually."

Would this mean she might encounter a Chansey or Blissey? She didn't know yet, but she hoped she'd find out soon. Trailing along after Eric still, she found that the walking on runs was monotonous and rather boring, so she found herself thankful that, from time to time, Pokémon would pop up - she guessed it was the main attraction to the National Park, but the scenery was very nice too. Well, 'nice' in the case of the Botanic Gardens was a rather underrated word. In all honesty it was beautiful, down to the last millimetre, and possibly even down to lower measures - she was never very good at maths anyway, so she decided not to try to rack her brains to see if there was anything smaller than a millimetre - in her opinion, there wasn't, but maths was bound to prove her wrong, as it did constantly throughout her life. At any rate, the scenery was perfect, and she did enjoy looking around herself - it was like being on her adventure again, and Arceus knew that her Pokémon adventure had ended a few years ago.

Surprisingly enough - even though she'd heard Argent's tales before, she thought he had an urge to embellish things - something did appear. Something cute: something she liked. It was a rounded, almost a perfectly ovular Pokémon, completely pink - at this stage, even though Clara didn't mind the colour pink, she was thinking that perhaps pink Pokémon popped up a little too much for her tastes. In fact, four of five Pokémon she had encountered so far... were pink. Miltank, Skitty, Mew and now Chansey. Recollecting that made Clara shudder a little - she didn't even know there were that many pink Pokémon... but she remembered more. Cleffa line, Slowpoke, more and more came to her memory, and all were primarily pink. It was like a pink kind of org-- wait, no. Pokémon and sex belong nowhere near each other. Steer really clear of that line of thought, Ms. Feliday. Hey, Ms. Feliday sounds kinda neat - if I marry Argent, I might even keep my surname. Never noticed how cool that sounded. Right, okay, back to Chansey.

Chansey had hair-like growths protruding from its head, which was a difference to its pre-evolution, Happiny, in which case she would have had a pigtail. Her feet were quite cute, very long, and, again, pink. She also had an obnoxious tail sticking out the back of her, and on the whole, she did look like a very pretty Pokémon, although Clara couldn't identify what she thought Chansey really looked like, so she put it out of her head. She smiled at the kind-looking Chansey - of course, they always looked kind, and had wide smiles plastered on their faces constantly, as far as she knew. Meh, what did she care? Chansey were nice Pokémon with a nice appearance, and were also fairly strong in battle, being able to overcome her opponents through defensive measures rather than straight-forward offence. Chansey had immensely large amounts of HP, so she'd need a fairly strong hitter, who hit on the physical side rather than specially - Chansey had high special defence, but extremely low physical defence, so that was why.

Of course, two of the Pokémon she had brought with her were specialised for special attacks - both Gardevoir and Lilligant - but she didn't want to tire them out when the job could be carried out more easily by her Floatzel, Assan. Plus, she knew how Assan liked to battle in any case, so she thought that she may as well give him an opportunity to battle within the run, as she was sure he didn't enjoy just watching from the sidelines. He was a courageous kind of Pokémon, and also very fierce in battle, and it was those traits that made him such a hardy battler, one that pulled through quite often for her. So it was decided on who she would use in the battle - it would be Assan, of course. The large, orange, weasel-like Pokémon with the ridiculous-looking floatation sac around its body would be the star of her battle with Chansey, hopefully one which would end in a capture for the ever-ambitious trainer. Even if she was getting older, she wasn't going to let her fighting spirit fade away, because that was the kind of person she was.

Looking around for Assan, she spotted him dancing around in a patch of long, emerald grass, spouting water all over the place at the Pokémon that peered at him. Whistling sharply, she quickly called him to her side, and this was all before Eric even spoke a word to her, at which point she felt sorry she hadn't listened to him before taking on the Chansey - of course, every wild Pokémon was available to her, but it was good manners to keep the battle planning on hold until the Ranger spoke and asked if they wanted to battle the Pokémon or not - whilst not entirely necessary of the Ranger, it was tradition, and, as said, it was good practise for the trainer to wait until the Ranger had blurted this eternal question before trying to make any kind of move in battle. The Chansey, already knowing that she'd have an opponent in batlte, decided to take a few steps back from the trainer in preparation for the battle, which kind of intrigued Clara. She wondered why wild Pokémon were always ready to fight trainers and their own Pokémon, and she wondered if they knew they'd probably get captured at the end of it all.

"Well hey, it isn't a Happiny like you wanted, but it does evolve from one. So, care to take on this Chansey?" Eric said, and Clara leapt into immediate action at these words, because that was all it took.

"Of course, Eric," Clara replied quickly, her tone betraying her excitement to the Ranger - she had kind of wanted one of these healing Pokémon, as they were fairly amazing with their enormous bulk and evident healing powers. Smiling slightly, she decided to finally start the battle instead of having Buoysel ramble about in her head - of course, she didn't actually know that Buoysel was there, seeing as he was an entity that existed beyond the fourth wall. "Okay then, Assan! You're up-- well hurr, obviously, but we have to say that for dramatic effect. Anyway, continuing on, we should get this started. Maybe we could be back home in time for tea! OKAY. Assan, first, we'll have to get you to use Taunt - that'll prevent Chansey from setting up on you, which is a good thing, as she is potentially very powerful. Afterwards, Bulk Up - we have to get you a little stronger so that we can pull this off, hopefully without any glitches. Third, Brick Break. Let's test the boundaries of this Chansey's strength, so we can gauge how strong we should make our attacks. I'm sure you'll do great!"

For his Taunt move, Assan usually beckoned to the opponent using one of his long, cream-coloured paws, although he could Taunt in various other ways - Clara had observed once that Assan even resorted to pulling faces at the Pokémon so that they would just try to attack - this was a lot of what Clara was counting on. With Chansey's status and blocking moves out of the way and her just attacking, Clara could get attacks in without them being hindered in strength, and she knew that Assan outsped Chansey, so the Egg Pokémon wouldn't get hits in very easily. Afterwards, she expected him to carry out Bulk Up, a move that raised both the attack power of Assan's physical moves, and also protected him further from physical moves that could be used by Chansey - since Chansey relied more on special attacks than anything else, Clara was banking mainly on the attack bonus to pull them through and hit Chansey's weak spots with increased attack. And, for the final move in the combination - not really a combination as such, just a series of moves - would be Brick Break. One of Assan's creamy paws would glow bright white, and he'd bring it down on the opponent with force - one of Assan's more powerful moves, Clara knew - not to mention the super-effectiveness of it.

Hopefully things would turn out okay.

Clara was clearly in a world of her own, it was best to try to not pry into it, she would come back to her sense when she was ready. Eventually, after the sight of Chansey sunk in, Clara turned to me and said, "of course, Eric." There had been no doubt in my mind that Clara had wanted to face this Chansey, even if it would be a lot harder to battle, and capture than a Happiny. The only question was, what Pokemon would Clara end up using? Chansey could certainly take a hit, that was for sure, so Clara would need to use something with some raw power.

"Okay then, Assan! You're up-- well hurr, obviously, but we have to say that for dramatic effect," Clara said first, as her Floatzel took scene on the battlefield. I guess Floatzel was the right Pokemon for this situation, I mean it was the Pokemon with the most extra moves that Clara had brought so. The Sea Weasel Pokemon stood its ground, and was ready for its commands.

"Anyway, continuing on, we should get this started. I'm sure you'll do great!" Clara instructed her Floatzel. It was a rather simple combo to use, Taunt Chansey so all it can do is attack with moves that will damage, Bulk Up to increase both Floatzel's attack, and defense capabilities, then finish off with Brick Break to hurt Chansey some. Would it actually all work though?

Floatzel started by jumping into position, it stuck its right arm forward, and it made its index finger point from Chansey, to itself, like it was saying, "come get some." Taunt seemed to be working, Chansey appeared to get headstrong, and looked like it wanted to attack Floatzel, so it could cause it some damage. Taunt was probably one of, if not the, smartest ways Clara could start the battle with Chansey. Chansey was much more of a wall Pokemon, than it was a tank, and so as such Chansey had a lot of various non-damaging moves at it, including rather annoying ones like Thunder Wave, and Softboiled. There had been the chance that Chansey could have ignored Taunt, but in this Chansey's case it didn't appear to be so lucky.

Next up came Floatzel's Bulk Up. Floatzel stood in position, and was surrounded by an aura for a few moments. During this time the size of Floatzel increased, most specifically its muscles did. What Bulk Up does is increase the users attack, and defense by one stage each, and that is what it was doing right now. Though Chansey wasn't just standing still, doing nothing. Chansey may have been under the effect of Taunt, but that didn't mean that it couldn't do nothing. The tip of Chansey's left arm, where its hand would be if it had a hand, started to glow, and turned a shade of brown. It had been preparing some form of punching attack, but which one it was preparing, well I didn't know just yet.

Now that Floatzel was done doing its things, it was ready to use Brick Break. The user of Brick Break would take their hand, and would turn it into the position it would be, if they were going to use a karate chop. The "break" in Brick Break wasn't there just for show, the attack would destroy barriers such as Light Screen, and Reflect when the attack was used. It made me wonder why the move was called Brick Break, when Barrier Break would have worked just fine. Of course the move does motion like when someone is attempting to break a brick with a chop, but still. Floatzel launched itself at Chansey, and just as its chop connected with Chansey's head, Chansey punched Floatzel right in the gut, and energy could be seen being taken from Floatzel, and put into Chansey. Chansey had been using Drain Punch, an attack that would restore the heal of a Pokemon using it, equal to half of the damage it dished out.

Both Pokemon jumped back after the exchange, though due to Floatzel boosting its defense, as well as Chansey not being much of an attacker, it was just able to more or less shake the damage off like nothing had happened. The same couldn't be said about Chansey though, while it did heal itself a little, it was clearly showing the effects of being hit by that Brick Break. Of course though the battle had just started, and whether Chansey was feeling the effects of Taunt or not, Clara was still going to have her hands full in this battle, before Chansey could be captured.

OOC: Just ignore the flashback at the end as far as plottyness goes. It was just something to bump up the character count. ;P

Assan the Floatzel took its position as soon as it possibly could, standing in front of Clara with such confidence that Clara couldn't help but feel that he was the right Pokémon for this job - the right Pokémon to battle the Chansey, in other words. She had had no doubts originally, but sometimes, her plans had not, well, gone to plan in the past, so she always had to be cautious when she was outlining what to use against an opponent, especially an opponent that could fight back. In the past, she had relied on training on stable, inanimate opponents such as scarecrows and the like, just to test her Pokémon's obedience and willingness to fight for her. She had discovered that some tactics weren't working as well with some Pokémon as with others, and so she had to develop her skills as a trainer to try and accommodate every Pokémon she owned and regularly battled with in order to make sure she could have their potential brought out for a battle, and their skills used to their highest standard as they should have been in the past. However, there was always room for mistakes in any battle, even by the most professional of battlers.

Shortly, though, Assan begun his battle with the Chansey as fast as he could. Curling his creamy paw slightly, he began beckoning - in a way - at the Chansey, almost like a strange invitation, and for some reason, the words, "Come at me, bro" popped into Clara's head without any call for it. Clara knew that Taunt was perhaps one of the best ways she could have started the battle against the Chansey that was before her, and she smiled at the thought that she had made a smart move. She was definitely getting back into the swing of battling. Chansey was more of a Wall kind of Pokémon, meaning she wouldn't attack much, but would rather cripple her opponent and then safely take it out. With Taunt, Chansey would now be unable to use any non-attacking moves to cripple Assan, as well as any stat-boosting moves to give herself an advantage, either. Considering this, Clara was quite glad she had picked these moves to be used, as it was going to potentially result in a victory, now that she had eliminated any chance of Chansey trying to do what she usually would in a battle.

Smiling slightly, she watched as Assan took a stance for his next moves, and he already looked very bulky indeed. Bulk Up was a move that could be used to build up both Attack and Defence stats, and Clara knew that she'd have to count on boosted attacks and defensive manoeuvres in order to win the battle against the Chansey. Assan's orange fur rippled slightly as he closed his eyes, as white energy swirled down his body, making him look quite supernatural as it did so. Opening his eyes, Assan could feel stronger in himself, almost as if he could fling a Hippopotas a mile or two. And Hippopotas were extremely heavy. At any rate, Assan was now fully prepared to battle against the ovular pink Pokémon, known to them as a Chansey, but the species of which were known as 'the Egg Pokémon'. Clara was feeling optimistic of their chances at this point, but knew not to count her Torchic before they had hatched. She knew that she couldn't build her hopes up, or she'd become too disappointed in the end. In any case, Clara was actually quite excited, and if she did succeed in a capture, perhaps she'd be able to train up the Chansey quite well.

However, even though Chansey was under the effects of Taunt, it didn't mean that she couldn't do anything to defend herself. In fact, she raised her fist into the air, and it began to glow a brown colour. However, Assan was having none of it. His creamy paw began to glow white as he charged Brick Break - it was a Fighting-type move of relatively high power, and it was definitely super-effective against the Chansey. Given the super-effectiveness as well as Assan's boosted Attack stat, the Floatzel would definitely give Chansey one hell of a ride as far as attacks went, and would damage her immensely. The 'break' part was given as, if a Light Screen or Reflect were up, they would be destroyed by the sheer power of Brick Break, but in this battle, there were no such barriers raised. Assan leapt forwards, speeding towards Chansey with his paw raised in order to attack. Chansey, surprisingly, was simply standing still, bracing herself for the impact of the attack, it seemed, and she had planned one of her own - her fist was still glowing brown.

As Assan met the Chansey, he slammed his paw down over her body, but she flung her arm outwards towards his gut at the same time, with a quick twist of the arm as she did so. Clara recognised that technique for turning a punching move into what was known as Drain Punch, a move that drained health from whomever it hit, taking half the damage it caused the opponent and absorbing it as its own health. Quite a useful move, but Assan's raised Defence stat would make sure that nothing serious came of it. However, Assan's Brick Break seemed to have dealt a lot of damage to the Chansey, and once Chansey's Drain Punch had connected, some health could be seen being sapped from Assan, being absorbed through Chansey's fist and into her own system, and she looked a tiny bit better than she had when Assan had hit with the Brick Break. Shortly after the exchange of attacks with each other, both leapt back from one another, Assan shaking off the damage as if it were nothing, but the Chansey looking somewhat more shaken.

"Good job, Assan! Really well done. Now, I want you to attempt a combination. What we're going to be doing is using Aqua Jet to start off - go high into the air with the Aqua Jet, and then come down quickly on her, using a Brick Break attack in combination with the Aqua Jet, so it'll almost be like a double impact kind of thing. Let's go!"

She sighed, thinking of how this was somewhat alike to what Argent had told her when using Assan once...

Assan drew his paws inwards, the fins on which glowing a bright white colour. He slashed them outwards, and ripples of wind flew from them, cutting through the fog easily and dispersing it away from them, and Argent could suddenly see much clearer, and thus have a better picture of the battle which was only just commencing. The blades of wind quickly went away also, and now the air was still and fog-clear. Assan swung his tails back and forth dangerously, pulling faces at the Golett as he tried to Taunt it, but Golett looked unfazed by the face-pulling and such so Argent wasn't entirely sure if the Taunt had actually worked in the first place, but Assan certainly wasn't going to lose any time worrying. His orange fur rippled slightly as he moved his muscles, baring his teeth towards the Golett threateningly as they circled each other briefly. However, Argent watched as Assan's fangs began to glow an icy blue colour, and then he sprang towards Golett at full speed. He bit hard into Golett - Argent saw it cringe a tiny bit - but Golett was prepared.

With a mighty punch, Assan was dislodged from Golett's arm and launched far backwards. Argent crouched down beside Assan, encouraging him to get back up - Assan pushed himself to his feet quickly, as if he hadn't been hurt at all. Assan was a brave kind of Pokémon, and wasn't one to show much sign of strain or pain. Argent quickly began to formulate a plan in his mind to try to fool the Golett and cause him a bit of damage to make him easier to capture. Golett was standing there, also preparing for an attack, whilst Assan was looking towards Argent for some sort of plan, which Argent was quick in the making of. Smiling confidently at Assan, he received the same sort of smile from the orange-and-cream Floatzel, who made a mocking salute as Argent started to speak, as if Argent was the leader of an army or something such. Shrugging, Argent started what he was going to say once more, smiling still as he spoke - a strange thing that he had picked up somewhere, and it sometimes crept out his Chimecho.

"Okay, Assan, work with me. If Taunt works the way we think it will, Golett will attack relentlessly. Whenever he gets near you, start spinning on your back while using Aqua Jet - like a counter shield, and it'll hurt Golett to try going near you. If you use Water Gun while you're spinning, then you can create whip-like jets of water to hit Golett with. Stop spinning, but Water Gun its eyes so it can't see for a bit. Aqua Jet upwards, then Waterfall down on Golett."

A breakdown: the 'counter shield' move was a technique often employed by Argent and Assan in battle. If Assan was in danger of attack, counter shield allowed Assan to spin on his back, propelled by the Aqua Jet, and water would fly out and stop the opponent from getting any further. The conjunction of counter shield with Water Gun allowed Assan to damage the opponent far better, and eventually it would wear the opponent down. Afterwards, Argent had ordered an Aqua Jet and then Waterfall - it was a thing that he often did when there was a shortage of water. Assan would fly upwards in a torrent of water, spinning - Waterfall was a physical attack and was his most powerful same-type attack, allowing Assan to do a lot of damage to anyone who was in the way. This particular plan was a great way to wear down Golett for capture, and he knew that Assan could tone down his attacks so that he wouldn't make Golett faint, as he had often done before using this plan. Assan lay on his back, spinning around on the floor until his body seemed to be bursting with water, and then he was surrounded by the blue liquid, propelling himself around faster. Whip-like jets of water started to slam around the place, and Argent stepped back in order to stop himself from being knocked about by the attack.

    "Woo, Assan!"
