"Hmm, Mount Oktori huh? I should put on some shorts," I said to myself, as I was informed I'd be taking someone on a run through there. This wasn't just some new trainer though, no, it was someone by the name of Leo. A person who seems to have been through the park a lot of times, but otherwise was probably a nobody.

"Come on Ambipom, we got work to do again," I said smiling to my Ambipom. I loved bringing it along when I was working as a ranger, it was just good company to have. It was also good to bring now, because I knew it wouldn't judge me for going to place like Mount Oktori in shorts, a sweatshirt, and sneakers.

We got to the front gate of Mount Oktori, so I figured it was a good time to check out this Leo's info. He was bringing four Pokemon with him, two of which I'd love to have, Gardevoir and Volcarona, one I always liked, Houndoom, and some other Dragon thing. Though that wasn't what I had my eyes on, what I did was all the items it said he owned, and was bringing. He certainly did make himself a collection of items, some very, very rare.

"Alright Shadow, do we have everything we need?" I asked my four legged hellhound looking Pokémon. He always made sure I had everything I needed. He let out a loud happy bark and nodded his head. "Okay then. We're going to Oktori for Delibird, Sneasel, and Cryonogal. I suppose a Swinub and maybe a Cubchoo would be fine. Anything else didn't interest me. Cryonogal would be the hardest to find, but I would just Masterball it if and when I did find one. Delibird would be an easy catch, especially if Shadow was battling it. I grabbed my dark gray jacket and a blue beanie. I walked over towards my backpack and opened it. I placed inside fifteen Pokedolls. I had to stuff them in hard because they wouldn’t all fit. Then I grabbed a small binder with all of my voice disks. There had to be more than twenty-five of them. I collected as many as I could. Then I placed everything else on my first shelf and walked out of my office.

“Hey, Alex. Can I borrow your Volcarona?” I asked my younger brother. He usually let me use his Pokémon whenever I wanted. In our family, we just let each other borrow Pokémon whenever we needed it. His Volcarona would come in useful because it was a strong as hell Fire type. It would easily do well in a battle against an Ice Type Pokémon.

“Yeah, sure. You owe me though.” He said, tossing me a red and yellow Pokéball. I caught in my left hand and pocketed it.

“Thanks!” I said happily. Then I walked over towards Rex’s office and knocked on his door. He was also one of my three younger brothers, the youngest in fact.

“Ugh, what the hell do you want?” He called out angrily. I could tell he was asleep, like he usually was around this time. I opened his door and walked in. His room was pretty dark, the only light I could see was a small green light flashing on his computer screen.

“Can I borrow your Hydreigon, Skullcruncher?” I asked him.

“No, get the heck out of here.” He said, throwing a stapler at me. I ducked, but the stapler wasn’t headed anywhere near me.

“C’mon, let me use it.” I nagged. I knew if I kept bothering him that he’d give in.

“Fine. Here.” He said, tossing a black and red Pokeball at me without looking. “Now get the hell out of here.” I caught it in my right hand and walked out.

“Thanks,” I said through the door. He just groaned and fell back to sleep. Even though he was always angry, he always made me laugh. He usually slept this time during the day and worked at night, though he did take runs during the day.

I walked outside of the Rangers Headquarters and released Rex’s Pokémon, Skullcruncher his Hydreigon. I always liked the Hydreigon species, they were quite interesting. Their arms looked like little heads. I wasn’t sure if their head-like arms had a brain in them, it looked like they would. This was sort of like Girafirig and that small head looking thing on their tails.

I hopped onto his back and he took off. We flew towards Mt. Oktori. As we got closer to the mountain, it got colder and colder. I was glad I brought my jacket, but I was now wishing that I brought another one. I noticed that it wasn’t snowing as bad as it was the other day. I was glad because I didn’t want to go searching for Ice type Pokémon while it was snowing hard. Not only would that be much harder to do because most fight better while it’s snowing, it would be pretty hard to see them, and it is kind of hard to battle something you can hardly see. As we got to the front gate, I saw Ranger Ebail and his Ambipom waiting at the gate for us. I landed a couple of yards next to him. I walked over towards him and shook his hand.

"Hey, I'm Leo and I'm ready to go whenever you are." I said. I then pulled out my Pokeplayer and inserted a Delibird Voice Disk and pressed play.

"Hey, I'm Leo and I'm ready to go whenever you are," Leo said to me, as he pulled out his Pokeplayer, threw his Delibird Voice Disk in it, and hit play. The cry of the red, delivery penguin could be heard for a very far distance, and if it was to work we would be seeing a Delibird in almost no time.

"Alright, now that you've taken care of that I'll formally introduce myself. I'm Gary, and I shall be taking you through Mount Oktori. Since you've already activated your voice disk we can go ahead and get started," I told Leo as I started to lead him along. It was certainly cold here, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Personally I was always a fan of the cold weather, in fact I remember once, about two years ago, I was hit with two blizzards in the same week, but I ended up still sitting them both out in a short-sleeve t-shirt, and shorts. As long as I avoided a blizzard here I'd probably be fine, and thankfully it was only a very light snow.

We only got a few feet into Mount Oktori, before a Pokemon made it a point to come out in front of us. It was a red Pokemon, with feathers on its face resembling a white beard. It closely resembled that of a penguin actually, and it had a sack on its body. It was the Pokemon that Leo had been hoping to find to start off his run here.

"Well, here's that Delibird you wanted Leo. Now I'll take a step back so you can go ahead and face it."

"Alright, now that you've taken care of that I'll formally introduce myself. I'm Gary, and I shall be taking you through Mount Oktori. Since you've already activated your voice disk we can go ahead and get started," He said.

“Nice to meet you, and very well, let’s get started.” I said, raising the volume on my Pokeplayer. I had only brought one Delibird Voice Disk so I was hoping it worked and that was all I needed. I then remembered that I had to use my Fighting type repellant so that finding the Ice type Pokémon I wanted would be a breeze. I quickly sprayed it all over myself and around us. Now, finding Delibird would be a breeze.

We had barely walked not even a quarter of a mile in Mt. Oktori and the first thing I wanted to find was already in front of me. I felt that this run was going to be full of luck for me. It wasn’t always this easy to find the Pokémon I came here for. Usually I had to wait a while longer before one even showed up. Here, I just got it off the back. I wasn’t sure if the other Pokémon I was looking for would be this easy, but I was sure glad this one was. I looked at the Pokémon and examined it from a distance. He was a red penguin-like Pokémon with a sack-like tail. He was red all over, except for the patch of fluffy feathers on his chest that resembles a beard, which gave him that Santa Clause look, especially with that sack. He also had white crests on his head that looked like little snowflakes in my opinion. He stared at us with his black eyes. It looked like he had a mask on since the whole body was red except for the white fuzz on his face and black rings around his eyes.

"Well, here's that Delibird you wanted Leo. Now I'll take a step back so you can go ahead and face it." Ranger Gary said.

I hadn’t thought about it, but I wasn’t sure which Pokémon I would start off with. I wanted to start off with Shadow since he was already out and a strong as heck Fire type, but then I remembered that Delibird was part Flying so he could easily evade stuff in the air. Flamefeather would be a much nicer choice. She wasn’t as strong and skilled with Fire type moves as he was, but her Fire type moves would do a great amount of damage to Delibird. I pulled out my Pokedex and clicked the scanning button. A small green light shot out and hit Delibird.

Delibird – the delivery Pokémon. Delibird are small creatures that stand at about two to three feet tall and weigh about thirty to sixty pounds. They have the known abilities Vital Spirit or Hustle, some rare ones even know Insomnia. It carries food all day long in their sacks. There are tales about lost people who were saved by the food it had. It nests at the edge of sharp cliffs near snowy terrains. It spends all day carrying food to its awaiting chicks and carries its food with it wherever it goes. If attacked, it throws its food at the opponent. It has the habit of sharing food with people lost in mountains. Some say they are Santa Clause’s elves.

“Interesting. So their present attacks can either heal you or hurt you. You never know which. Alright, come on out Flamefeather,” I said, tossing a black and yellow Pokeball onto the ground. A large red and white moth Pokemon came out from the sphere. Her four small feet wiggled around as she stretched them. Her beautiful six leaf-like wings that are orange in color and with small black spots stretched out as well. She made a buzzing noise as she flapped her wings. As she did, small flames shot out of her body and began melting the snow around her within a five feet radius, even more each time she flapped her wings.

“Alright, let’s start things out slow. Use Flame Charge, then use Fiery Dance.” I called out. “We’ll see what happens after you use those moves. Delibird don’t know that many moves, so let’s see if we can find out which other moves it knows besides Present.”

Flamefeather nodded and the sound of my words and her body became outlined a dark red color. She began flapping her wings violently which caused semi-wet dirt and snow to circle around the area, then her body was engulfed in hot orange flames and she charged at Delibird. As she charged at the Delivery Pokémon, the snow beneath her on the path she was on, melted quickly.

After she preformed that move, and depending on how the Delibird reacted, she would then start the next move. Fiery Dance was pretty much as the name insinuated. She would begin ‘dancing’, which was more hovering up and down in a rhythmic beat. As she did that, her wings would become outlined orange and then catch fire. Then she would flap her wings forward, sending the flames towards Delibird in a beam of fire. It was a pretty interesting move in my opinion.

I didn’t know how Delibird would react and counter this, but I knew how I we were playing this. I wasn’t sure if I‘d ask Flamefeather to attack again after this or try a status move. Either way this would be a great start of the battle. I moved back a little because those flames were hot and I didn’t want to accidently be caught on fire. She had control of the flames, but with fire, it can be unpredictable at times.

“I know you can do it, Flamefeather!” I called out, giving her a confidence boost.

IC: As I knew, Leo was more than happy to take on this Delibird. Delibird wasn't exactly a very powerful Pokemon, and didn't have a very diverse movepool. Still Delibird could have pulled some impressive moves off, based on what Leo used that is. Based on the four Pokemon he brought along with him, I'd have to guess he would either be using his Houndoom, or his Volcarona in this situation. Guess I was about to find out.

“Interesting. So their present attacks can either heal you or hurt you. You never know which. Alright, come on out Flamefeather," Leo said, as he tossed a Pokeball to the ground. From it came out his Volcarona. Volcarona was one of the rarest Pokemon out there that you could find, it was also one of the most powerful. It was clearly a moth based Pokemon, with six wings, four small feet, blue eyes, and what appeared to be two horns. Despite having a four times weakness to the ever popular Rock-type, Volcarona was still incredibly sought after due to its tremendous Special Attack, and access to Quiver Dance, a move that boosts Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Being a Fire-type Volcarona clearly had an edge over Delibird, but being a Bug-type set it back a small step vs Delibird's Flying-typing. Still I'm sure Leo knew what he was doing.

“Alright, let’s start things out slow. Use Flame Charge, then use Fiery Dance.” I called out. “We’ll see what happens after you use those moves. Delibird don’t know that many moves, so let’s see if we can find out which other moves it knows besides Present," Leo commanded Volcarona. It was a pretty straight forward combo, use two Fire-type moves to start the battle off in a big way. The moves Leo chose weren't exactly the worst ones, far from it, one had a chance to boost a specific stat, and the other was guaranteed to boost one.

Flame Charge was first up. The user would coat their body with some flames, and the charge over at the opponent. In the midst of this the Pokemon using the attack gains some momentum, and when it hits they end up boosting their Speed by one stage. It was a great move for slower Fire-types to use such as Chandelure, or a Pokemon that just needed a small speed boost like Ninetales. I had to wonder why Leo was deciding to use Flame Charge over Quiver Dance, but maybe he just wanted to deal a little more damage. Either way it didn't matter now, because Volcarona powered up its attack, and charged over to Delibird. It hit the penguin head on before it had the chance to do anything, and sent flying back a few feet. Volcarona stopped, looking pleased at what it had done, and was now faster than it was.

It wasn't over yet though, next was Fiery Dance. It was a move where the user would be surrounded in flames, just like with Flame Charge. The main difference now though was that, rather than charge at Delibird, Volcarona would dance, and flap its wings, and the flames would shoot out at Delibird. This move had a chance to raise Volcarona's Special Attack, and it was also a signature move for the moth. Volcarona fired the attack at Delibird, and knocked the poor penguin to the ground. After the move Volcarona was certainly looking stronger, its Special Attack had ended up increasing. When it was all said and done, it was as if Volcarona used Quiver Dance, only without the Special Defense boost, and it damaged Delibird too.

Delibird was hurt, but it wasn't beaten, not yet. It lunged itself at Volcarona, and in an instant struck Volcarona with its right wing. It was a move that struck very fast, and it couldn't miss. It was Aerial Ace, a standard Flying-type move, seen being used by many Pokemon. Volcarona took a step back, and shook off the pain. It was hurt, but it was nothing major. The battle just started, but Leo already seemed to make a pretty big dent in Delibird.

Male and gonna try to capture it here ;o - used fragrance

“Awesome job Flamefeather!” I called out happily. Her Flame Charge – Fiery Dance combo went off excellently, Alex trained her well. I knew she was really strong because most Volcarona were, but they were also hard to train. Now, with her rise in her Special Attack and her rise in Speed, I had pretty much full control of this battle. Unless Delibird pulled something crazy out of his bag, I was pretty much in the game. I felt that after this move, I could capture it with ease. I looked around at my surroundings to see what I could use to my advantage. All there was were snow, a couple of trees, and a few rocks, nothing that was really useful to me in this battle. I wanted to try and enclose Delibird in some sort of cage with whatever was around. It would have to be something that prevented it from flying since it was a Flying type.

Instead of a cage, I was just going to have to pelt it with rocks. Flamefeather knew Psychic, so I would use that to levitate the rocks off of the ground and hit Delibird with. Then, when Delibird was distracted with the incoming rocks, Flamefeather could go in and deliver a strong Poison Jab attack, which would hopefully in turn, poison the flying Ice type Pokémon. Since she had the speed, I felt that she could go in and out quickly without getting hit by Delibird. If she did get hit, it would be minimal. Though, I would have to watch out for when it recovers, it may be angry and send out a strong attack.

Aerial Ace wasn’t that strong of an attack, but when accuracy is needed, it can be quick useful. I wasn’t sure if I could avoid another Aerial Ace attack from Delibird, but I knew for sure that another Aerial Ace attack wouldn’t do more than a quarter damage to her. I was going to have to do some serious training with this Pokémon to make it a lot stronger. If not physically, then I’d get him stronger mentally. Perhaps with a few tricks as well like Toxic, Swagger and Fake Out, or even his signature move, Present. That was another thing I didn’t get. If it was food that he stored in that sack of his, how did it hurt his opponents? Did he throw the food at them or was there something else? If it was food, does it explode or does the opponent eat it and get some kind of food poisoning? I wanted to walk right over to him and open his sack and see what was inside. It could be something rare.

I was watching on the Discovery Channel, that although it isn’t official, most female Delibird had long white crests on their head. The males on the other hand, had shorter ones. This Delibird here was a male, at least from what I learned in that video. He had short crests so it had to be. If not then I would find out later.

“Alright Flamefeather. Use Psychic on the rocks on the ground and pelt Delibird with them, then use Poison Jab while he is trying to recover. Use your speed to get a fast, hard blow in. Watch your back when you retreat though.” I called out to Flamefeather. I pulled out a small vile labeled Calming Fragrance Plus and released the contents inside. I knew the vile had some sort of smell that calmed the Pokémon down to make it easier to capture. That would give Flamefeather enough time to hit Delibird with the Psychic attack. I pulled out my Hyperball and moved back. As soon as she retreated from the Poison Jab, I would throw my Hyperball.

Flamefeather moved up a little and began giving off purple light from her body. As she did, the rocks around Delibird began to glow the same color as her and wiggle off of the ground. Once she had good control of them, she’d launch them at Delibird. After that, she’d go in fast and punch Delibird with Poison Jab. I hadn’t thought about it before, but she had small hands. She was going to have to get in really close to hit Delibird hard. I hoped that it worked out without her getting hurt too much.

Leo was trying to take down Delibird as fast as he could, he didn't want it using Present, and possibly dealing heavy damage to Volcarona. Of course even if Delibird did use present it could have ended up healing Volcarona. Still, it didn't matter either way, Leo wanted to capture this Delibird, and he wanted to capture it now. The question now though was, what was coming next? At this point another Fire-type move could get the job done, but at the same time it might have been too much, and I know Leo didn't want to knock Delibird out, because that would have made it uncatchable.

“Alright Flamefeather. Use Psychic on the rocks on the ground and pelt Delibird with them, then use Poison Jab while he is trying to recover. Use your speed to get a fast, hard blow in. Watch your back when you retreat though,” Leo commanded his Volcarona. Before it even got the chance to attack though, Leo pulled something out of his backpack, but it wasn't a ball, it was a fragrance. While I didn't know which one he was using, I knew no matter what it was going to make Delibird somewhat easier to capture in the end.

First up came a Psychic, though this wasn't just a regular Psychic Volcarona was going to be using, it was going to be using Psychic on some rocks to fling them at Delibird. It was a cleaver idea really, because Delibird had a four times weakness to Rock, just like Volcarona, so being pelted with rocks would do some serious damage to it. Volcarona's eyes turned into a more bright, and intenser shade of blue. Using the power of Psychic it picked up some nearby rocks, and launched them at Delibird. It tried its hardest to avoid them, but they were moving too fast, and Delibird only managed to avoid a few before being pelted.

Delibird was hurt, but before it had a chance to do much of anything Volcarona raced over to it, with one of its tiny hands turning a slightly darker shade of purple, it was Poison Jab. A move that would punch the opposing Pokemon with a fist full of poison, and would possibly leave the opposing Pokemon Poisoned. Volcarona went to strike, but Delibird tried to mount one last bit of offense. As Volcarona struck Delibird, it took on of its fists and punched Volcarona as hard as it could. It was using Mega Punch to try and take the wind out of Volcarona, but unfortunately for Delibird it happened to hit one of Volcarona's less fragile spots, and still needed to take the full force of Poison Jab.

Delibird was laying on the ground now, in some serious pain, and Leo saw this as his opportunity. He pulled out one of his Hyper Balls, and threw it at the defenseless penguin. The ball sucked Delibird in, and hit the ground. It started to shake some, but unfortunately for Leo this wasn't over just yet. Delibird escaped from the ball, and was ready to battle again, well not exactly. It was short on breath, it probably exhausted a lot of its remaining energy escaping from the ball, still you had admire its fighting spirit.

"Alright, good job Flamefeather. Now, I just need you to do one more small move to weaken him down a bit more so that he won't come out of the Hyperball again. Since he wasn't poisoned by Poison Jab, use Toxic on Delibird. That should be all we need to capture him. I called out as I picked up the Hyperball from the ground. Flamefeather began making some regurgitating noises. Then, she hacked up a purple stream of liquid onto the ground around Delibird. As it hit the ground, you could see the small vapors coming up from the puddles. I hoped Delibird took in a little of it so that I could capture him.

I picked up the Hyperball and aimed it at the sack carrying Santa Clause-like, Flying-Ice type, poffin-penguin-like bird thing and threw it once more. I watched the ball soar through the air. This had to be it. I could feel the capture this time. All I had to do was wait and see what would happen. I wondered what would show up next. Hopefully something interesting.

If I had to guess, Leo wasn't too happy that Delibird freed itself from the Hyper Ball that Leo used, because, well would you be happy that a Pokemon you wanted wouldn't stay in the ball? On the plus side for him though, Delibird was very weakened so it wouldn't take a lot more to capture it, and the ball he used was still perfectly good. All that was left now, was for him to use probably one more move of some sort, and then toss a ball at Delibird once more.

"Alright, good job Flamefeather. Now, I just need you to do one more small move to weaken him down a bit more so that he won't come out of the Hyperball again. Since he wasn't poisoned by Poison Jab, use Toxic on Delibird. That should be all we need to capture him," Leo commanded Volcarona. It was a pretty smart idea, rather than just attack Delibird, and risk knocking it out, Leo was using Toxic, a status move that would not only make Delibird easier to capture, but also if it managed to escape from the ball again, Toxic would just weaken Delibird even more, and make it easier to capture. It was the best thing Leo could do in this situation.

Volcarona took in a deep breath to create the Toxic. Toxic was a common, but unusual move. It was a move generally used to stop wall Pokemon, because it would damage them at the end of each of their attacks. The damage would start at one sixteenth of their maximum health, and after each new exchange of moves another one sixteenth would be added to the damage, so it would go from one-sixteenth, to one-eighth and so on. This was a great way of slowly damaging an opposing Pokemon, until it was eventually defeated. In this case though, Leo was just using it to seal the battle with Delibird.

Volcarona fired the darkly colored purple goo out at Delibird, it hit its mark, and purple bubbles started to rise up from under Delibird, as it started to turn purple to signalize that it was badly poisoned. Before the poison had a chance to do anything though, Leo threw a Hyper Ball at Delibird, and it was once again sucked in. This time though there was a lot less of a struggle from Delibird, and this time it wasn't escaping.

"Congrats Leo. Its always nice to see someone start off a run by capturing something," I said to Leo as I picked up Delibird's Pokeball, and placed it in my pocket. "So what would you like to do now, start hunting for whatever comes your way, or do you have another disk you'd like to use before we continue?"

"Congrats Leo. Its always nice to see someone start off a run by capturing something," John said to me as he picked up my Pokeball. "So what would you like to do now, start hunting for whatever comes your way, or do you have another disk you'd like to use before we continue?"

"Thanks, and well, I don't have a Cryonogal Voice Disk yet so I'll just try using this Sneasel Voice Disk. If a Sneasel doesn't come then it doesn't matter since the only other thing I want is Cryonogal. I might as well try and see if a Sneasel comes our way though." I said, pressing the open button on my Pokeplayer and removing the Delibird Voice Disk. I reached into my C.D. case and pulled out a black disk marked "Sneasel Voice Disk".

I had a Sneasel before and it was incredibly strong, even more so when I evolved it into Weavile. I remembered it saving me one time in the Elite Four when I defeated Elite Four Member Marth. He is retired now, but thanks to Weavile, I won that match. I can't remember what he went up against to seal the deal, but it was a great battle. I still had the video in my office somewhere.

"Alright, whenever you're ready to go." I said, pressing play on my Pokeplayer.

I had to agree with him here, he may have only wanted a Delibird, and a Cryonogal, but he had a Sneasel Voice Disk on hand, and he could leave here with up to three Pokemon anyway, so why not? Leo pulled the disk out, and put in the Pokeplayer. "Alright, whenever you're ready to go," Leo said to me, as he hit play. And with that we were off again.

We only walked about ten steps before I already saw the shadow of another Pokemon. It was something that quickly dashed over at us, clearly attracted to the sound of the Pokeplayer. It was a mainly black in color Pokemon, with very razor sharp claws. It had black marks on its face resembling eye lashes. It had three feather-like growths on its back, as well as one on its left ear. It was a small, yet very powerful, and fast Pokemon. And granted while it was very weak to the Fighting-type, it was still very deadly. It was the thing Leo had just decided to look for.

"Well that was quick. Anyway, here's that Sneasel you said you'd go for if the disk worked."

I looked around the area. Like with Delibird, I hadn’t expected to find anything right off the back, but sure enough, a Sneasel is what we found. Almost immediately after pressing play, one dashed over our heads and landed right in front of us. We hadn’t even gone a mile into Oktori and one was here. This had to be the luckiest trip in terms of a person finding what they wanted. I hadn’t known anyone who was this lucky off the back. I felt happy, I couldn’t hide the grin on my face. This Sneasel appeared to be pretty fast, which wasn’t surprising since they were known to be insanely fast. In fact, they were the fastest Ice type Pokémon out there. They were known to be as fast as Jolteon, Aerodactyl, and Crobat. I at least knew this guy was fast, but now I wanted to know if he had the power to go with that speed. A fast hitter was something I needed. My Jolteon was pretty good, but he could only do so much against certain types of Pokémon, and that is where I wanted Sneasel, or Weavile to come in. He could take down Grass types, Flying types, most Dragons, Grass, Psychic, Ghost, Dark, and on occasion, some Fighting types if played right. He could be a great lead in a lot of battles. If and when I caught this Sneasel, I couldn't wait to try him out in battle and see how he does.

I already knew a bit about this type of Pokémon since I had already previously owned one, but it wouldn’t hurt to get some more information to jog the memory. This Sneasel looked pretty much the way my last partner did. It was mainly all black and a bipedal Pokémon that looked vaguely between a mix of cat and weasel. It had a small bright red feather-like growths on its left ear and lower back. Just like Delibird, I knew how to identify whether it was male or female. I had also saw on this documentary how you can tell the difference between the two. A male Sneasel would have a larger bright red feather on its head. The female on the other hand, would have a small bright red feather on its head. Since I knew that information, I knew that this Sneasel was female. Those documentary videos on the Discovery Channel did come in handy after all. I could see that she had razor sharp claws that she was retracting in and out. I couldn’t help but to laugh because it reminded me of Wolverine from Xmen and his adamantium claws that could cut through pretty much anything. She also had yellow markings on her face and chest.

"Well that was quick. Anyway, here's that Sneasel you said you'd go for if the disk worked." John said.

“Yeah, you’re right! That was quick. Is this going great or what?” I said with the big grin still on my face. I didn't want to gloat, but seeing how well this was going, I couldn't help it. I pulled out my Pokedex and scanned this Sneasel.

Sneasel – The Sharp Claw Pokémon. Sneasel stand anywhere from two feet to four feet and weigh roughly around sixty to one hundred and twenty pounds, though you will hardly find any over ninety pounds since they stay in shape since they rely on their speed a lot. Sneasel are known to have the abilities Inner Focus and Keen Eye, rare ones even know Pickpocket. These Pokémon are extremely vicious, once they start attacking, they will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving. They conceal sharp claws in their paws, but they can quickly extends the claws if they feel threatened. They are sly creatures. They enjoy eating the eggs of Flying type Pokémon. They sometimes work in pairs; one to lure the parents away, the other to steal the eggs.

“Well,” I began to say as the Pokedex finished. “They are incredibly vicious. I didn’t know that, even though I had one before. I guess mine was more tamed since I had him since he hatched from an egg. I don't remember any time where my Weavile acted viciously.” I thought about my team for a second to decide who to use. Flamefeather just battled, and I didn’t her going up against this Sneasel if it was as vicious as the Pokedex states. Shadow might overpower the Sneasel, and Mindbender didn't need to battle a fast, strong Dark type Pokemon. That could seriously injure her. Then, I knew who I was going to use. “You know what they say. You have to fight fire with fire.” I said, tossing a black and red Pokeball in front of me. A large black dragon with two arm-like heads appeared in front of me and roared loudly. I knew Hydreigon were known to be violent, destructive, and brutal in battle. Although this particular Hydreigon was pretty tamed, Sneasel didn’t know that. I was hoping that she would be scared of him. Although, Skullcruncher was weak to Ice types, but he loved battling Pokémon that were considered to have the advantage in battles because it made him stronger. That alone was all I needed. He always liked to prove himself, and I felt that this was a good place to do it. I already knew he could, but he was the type that actually had to do it to believe it.

“Alright Skullcruncher! Remember that bowling technique I taught you?” I called out. Skullcruncher nodded and grinned. “Yeah, let’s try that out here to bring down his speed.” The bowling technique consisted of two moves. Rock Tomb, and Bulldoze. Skullcruncher would slam his tail hard into the ground which would bring forth large rocks that would hit and surround Sneasel, temporarily immobilizing him. The rocks and Sneasel would be the bowling pins. Then, Skullcruncher would claw his way halfway into the ground and begin charging at Sneasel, slamming into him hard with the earth he gathered. He was would be the bowling ball.

Skullcruncher began the assault and slammed his tail hard into the ground. I saw several large boulders emerge from the ground. He then launched them at Sneasel. I knew their was a good chance she could do dodge them, but if this technique worked as I had planned, Sneasel would not only be slower than it usually would be, he’d have a decent amount of damage done to her. I had borrowed Skullcruncher from Rex last week to teach him this combo, which is why I wanted to bring him along today, so I could see it in action. That would not only give him a lead in the battle, it would make him faster as well which would be easier for my next moves. I watched and waited for the plan to unfold. This was all too good. I just hoped my luck didn't run out. This was going all too well. If only Cryonogal came next, then this would be the fastest, most beneficial run I'd ever gone on. If it doesn't come next, then that was fine too because it would give me time to scope this place out. I was planning on returning here to find a Sawk and whatever other Fighting types come my way. If I could scope out which areas the Ice type Pokemon were hiding, I could learn which areas to avoid when coming back for Sawk so that I don't run into any Ice types. Though, that was only if I found Cryonogal. If I didn't, then, I was going to have to come back again and try once more.

OOC: I see you saying she, and her when talking about Sneasel so I'll assume that you want it female. But just to make sure...

IC: “Yeah, you’re right! That was quick. Is this going great or what?” Leo said happily. I couldn't blame him, I mean it wasn't exactly every day that two voice disks would work back to back, so Leo had every right to be happy. Leo pulled out his Pokedex to look up the information in it on Sneasel. I had to wonder though, once he finished looking up info, what Pokemon would he use? Gardevoir, and Hydreigon were each weak vs one of Sneasel's respective types, and Volcarona just battled. Houndoom would seem like the obvious choice, but it didn't exactly have the best defenses, and Sneasel was a Pokemon who packed plenty of Fighting-type moves. So what was Leo going to use?

“Well, they are incredibly vicious. I didn’t know that, even though I had one before. I guess mine was more tamed since I had him since he hatched from an egg. I don't remember any time where my Weavile acted viciously. You know what they say. You have to fight fire with fire.” Leo said as he threw a Pokeball to the ground. From it emerged a mainly black and blue dragon, with fuchsia strips on its tail, and body, as well as fuchsia like feathers, or flowers on its head. It had six wings, and oddly enough three heads. It was a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, one of the rarest, and hardest kinds of Pokemon to train. It was up there in the ranks with; Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, and Garchomp. It was Hydreigon, an incredibly powerful, and vicious Pokemon. It was a dual Dark/Dragon type, and granted while it was weak vs Sneasel's Ice-type, a good battler could easily overcome any weakness in battle.

“Alright Skullcruncher! Remember that bowling technique I taught you?” I called out. Skullcruncher nodded and grinned. “Yeah, let’s try that out here to bring down his speed," Leo commanded Hydreigon. I had no idea what this bowling technique was, cause you know nobody ever tells me anything, but I suppose I was about to find out. Hydreigon slammed its tail against the ground, because of this a few large boulders arose from the ground, and Hydreigon flung them at Sneasel. Sneasel did try to put up a good fight in retaliation, it used Ice Punch to try to break away the rocks, but it didn't help much, and Sneasel still ended up being pelted in the end by some of them.

This wasn't the end of things yet though, no. Hydreigon stuck its claws into the ground, and started to charge at Sneasel. What it was using was Bulldoze, a move that would normal see the user stomping on the ground, and would hit everything in the surrounding area, reducing the speed of what it hits. In Hydreigon's case though, it seemed to claw at the ground under him, and charge at Sneasel, slamming it into the ground. Hydreigon started to race over at Sneasel, but Sneasel prepared a counterattack, it formed its hand into a chop form. The move Sneasel was preparing was Brick Break, a powerful Fighting-type move that was also good for breaking barriers such as Light Screen, and Reflect. Hydreigon crashed into Sneasel, as Sneasel chopped Hydreigon's midsection. Hydreigon backed up in some pain, but Sneasel was the real victim here. It crashed into the ground from the combination of Rock Tomb, and Bulldoze, and was a little slow getting back up to its feet. But it did get back up, and it was ready for round two. One difference should be in place now though, Sneasel should in fact be slower due to the moves that hit it.

    OOC: Yeah, Female.

“That was well done Skullcruncher. Now we should have the advantage in speed. If not, well then we still have some tricks left to use to lower his speed.” I said to the large flying beast. I knew he could still use Scary Face and Thunder Wave. In fact, I was going to have him use Thunder Wave now. That would make capturing Sneasel that much easier. Perhaps I could even capture it faster than I captured Delibird. If not then it was still good because I was definitely going to attempt to capture her after this next moves.

First, I was going to need a move to use after Skullcruncher used Thunder Wave. I knew Sneasel was weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel, and maybe Bug, but I wasn’t too sure about Bug type moves. I did know for sure though, that I had a move for each of those types. That is why I loved using Rex’s Hydreigon. Skullcruncher knew a bunch of different types of moves. In fact, the only type it didn’t know any moves from, was Grass type, barring Hidden Power. Skullcruncher had Flamethrower and Fire Fang for the Fire type moves, Rock Tomb and Stone Edge for the Rock type moves, U-Turn for the Bug type, Focus Blast for Fighting type, and Flash Cannon for the Steel type move. It was a lot to choose from. I wasn’t exactly sure which would be more beneficial. I figured that using either Flash Cannon or one of the Fire type moves would be my best choice here. I wanted to stay as far away from Sneasel as I could.

Flash Cannon was a good choice, but it seemed better to use a Fire type move instead. Since I wanted to stay as far away from Sneasel as I could, Fire Fang would not be my choice of move. I would use Flamethrower instead since I could use that at a distance and still be safe. After he used Flamethrower, I could use all the melted snow to my advantage and use another strong move called Surf. These combos I was coming up with were all pretty good, and the environment around us was just helping me out with that. I hadn’t really used my surroundings before in a battle, even though it was more favorable for me to do so. This time though, I was using everything that I possibly could. I could even use the sky if I wanted too since Skullcruncher could also fly. Sometimes I even thought he was officially part Flying type. It made no sense why he wasn’t classified under the Flying types as well, but then again there wasn’t any Pokémon that had three types. Hydreigon would be good there though for Dark, Dragon, and Flying.

“Alright, so here is the plan! Skullcruncher, I want you to use Thunder Wave on Sneasel. I want her to be even slower than she already is. The slower the better it is for us and the easier she is to capture. Since that is our end goal for this battle, that is what I want you to start with, if that works then we’ll move on to the next step. That being, I want you then to use Flamethrower at the Sneasel. Don’t use a lot of power, but aim for the feet, that way if paralysis doesn’t work, she will still have a hard time moving. That isn’t the only reason though; I want the snow all around this area to melt so you can use Surf to finish this off so I can capture it. Okay, I think I’ve talked enough, let’s get this going. I know you can do it!”

Skullcruncher brought his two head like arms up and began forming a ball of blue electrical energy. The electrical energy was also forming around his hands and connected together to form a triangle between his two hands and his mouth. He launched the triangle shaped Thunder Wave at Sneasel and almost immediately began forming a ball of fire in his mouth, which was also forming around his hands. He was going to launch it the same way he did with Thunder Wave. Surf, the last move he would perform, was going to be a bit easier since he already melted a bit of snow around the area. He would summon a medium sized wave, depending on how much water he could gather up and crash it upon Sneasel. That would do the last bit of damage I needed to end this.

I reached into my bag and pulled out another Calming Fragrance Plus. Once more, I opened the vile, releasing the contents inside to relax the wild Sneasel. That way, when I threw my Hyperball, I would have a better chance of capturing it. Then, I pulled out my Hyperball and enlarged it. I took aim, and readied myself to throw it once Surf was completed. This was it, I just hope I didn’t over do it and have Skullcruncher accidently use too much power and knock her out. If Sneasel was caught right now, then this would be the fastest I’ve ever caught a Pokémon, at least as far as I can remember.

Leo wanted to wrap this up quickly, he didn't seem like he was someone who enjoyed wasting time, and so as such he wanted to capture Sneasel right away, and just move on. He more than proved that with the combo he wanted Hydreigon to use.

That isn’t the only reason though; I want the snow all around this area to melt so you can use Surf to finish this off so I can capture it. Okay, I think I’ve talked enough, let’s get this going. I know you can do it!” Leo commanded Hydreigon. He really wasn't wasting any time at all, he planned to have Hydreigon go big, and to capture Sneasel right away.

First up, Hydreigon started to form a blue ball of energy, almost similar to how someone does with their Ambipom. The ball though turned into a triangle shape of pure electricity,
which was intended for Sneasel. Thunder Wave was a move of several uses; well first it was an Electric-type move that would paralyze the opponent, in doing so several things could, or would happen. The opposing Pokemon's speed would drop to one sixth of its maximum speed, but that wasn't all. The Pokemon that was paralyzed had a chance of not being able to attack, but that wasn't Leo's aim, all he was after was making Sneasel easier to capture, which Thunder Wave would do. Hydreigon fired out the move at Sneasel, but Sneasel knew what was coming, it knew it had to strike now before it was too late. Sneasel formed some shards of ice within its hand, and blew them at Hydreigon at a speed faster than normal. It was Ice Shard, an increased Ice-type priority move that pelted the opponent with some sharp shards of ice. This made Hydreigon wince in pain, but it didn't stop its Thunder Wave, and now Sneasel was paralyzed.

Hydreigon appeared to be a bit mad now, though I don't think it would disobey Leo and go too powerful against Sneasel. It starting a ball of fire in its mouth. It was the beginning of Flamethrower, the standard Fire-type move that was seen in battles. Not only did it have good power, but it also had a chance of causing the opposing Pokemon a burn. I don't think it would this time though, because, while Leo was using Flamethrower on Sneasel, it was also focusing on melting some of the surrounding snow for one more attack. Hydreigon released the flames, and the attack was aimed rather low, this was no doubt done to melt some of the snow like Leo wanted. Sneasel did the best it could to get its arms up to block its face, but it wasn't long before the flames hit her, and knocked her back a few feet to the ground.

Leo wasn't done just yet though, he had a plan for this melted snow. He wanted Hydreigon to turn it into a Surf attack. Surf was a move that needed a large body of water to work, not having access to one, Leo created his own with Flamethrower against the snow. Surf took the water, and makes it smack against the opposing Pokemon, causing the water to drench them, and hold them down for a few moments. Sneasel was having trouble getting back up, so Hydreigon took this as its chance to strike, and make the freshly melted snow crash on top of it. Now Sneasel was really having a lot of trouble getting back up.

Leo saw this as his chance, but before anything else he pulled out a fragrance like with Delibird, and sprayed it towards Sneasel in an attempt to make it easier to capture. Now that that was done, Leo pulled out another Hyper Ball, and he threw it towards Sneasel. He thought that Sneasel was all by captured, unfortunately for him though he was wrong. Sneasel, in an act of defiance, picked his left arm up, and managed to smack the ball away. Although weakened, and paralyzed, this Sneasel proved it would not be easy to defeat.

Sneasel didn't stay in the Hyperball like I wanted. Instead, it smacked the ball away. Normally, I would be a little disappointed that it didn't capture, but it showed that he still had some fight left in her and that she wasn't giving up so easily. I liked that. I picked up the Hyperball and enlarged it again. I didn't want to risk using another attack, I didn't think Skullcruncher would use light force. I knew if I asked him to use another move, no matter how weak the move was, he would try to use it at full force. I couldn't risk that.

"Alright Skullcruncher, you're done. Don't attack anymore. I'm going to try capturing her again." I said, tossing the Hyperball once more. I didn't really feel it earlier, but I knew this was the final capture, I could feel it now.

Leo didn't appear to be mad about Sneasel not wanting to be capture, rather he seemed to be pleased by it. I guess he was happy to see that Sneasel would always try to put up a fight, I think if anything this actually made him want Sneasel even more. Leo still felt Sneasel was weakened enough, and so he just decided to pull out another Hyper Ball and throw it at Sneasel once more. This time around though Leo had better luck, as the ball struck Sneasel and sucked it in. There was almost no fight at all from the her, as she probably used her last bit of energy smacking the previous ball away.

"Congrats Leo," I said. "That was a pretty fast first two captures, hopefully if you have another battle it'll go just as smoothly as these two did. But even if you don't have another battle you can't exactly be disappointed with catching Delibird, and Sneasel, especially so fast right?" I asked Leo. "Anyway, I'm starting to ramble too much, we can continue whenever you're ready Leo." I said to Leo as I walked over to pick up the newly caught Sneasel's Pokeball. Though from the corner of my eye I happened to notice the first Hyper Ball Leo used on Sneasel was still perfectly in tact. "Here you go," I said, as I tossed over the Hyper Ball to Leo. There was no sense in just letting a perfectly good ball sit there, especially with the prices that were charged for them, which wasn't outrages, but could be expensive for someone who had limited money to work with.

"Congrats Leo," Jerry said. "That was a pretty fast first two captures, hopefully if you have another battle it'll go just as smoothly as these two did. But even if you don't have another battle you can't exactly be disappointed with catching Delibird, and Sneasel, especially so fast right? Anyway, I'm starting to ramble too much, we can continue whenever you're ready Leo." I had to agree with him. I wasn't anywhere near disappointed. I did indeed catch these two Pokemon pretty fast. I was pretty satisfied with the way things were going. I had a feeling I wasn't going to see Cryonogal, but I still had a lot of time left so I could still perhaps find one. "Here you go," He said, as he tossed over the Hyper Ball to me.

"Well, I'm ready to go. The only thing left for me here is a Cryonogal." I said to Ebail. "but I have a feeling I won't be seeing one anytime soon, if I see one at all. I guess for now, if you know where any are, we can start heading in that direction." I took out a Masterball and spinned it on my index finger. I was planning on using it on that Cryonogal if I found one. I had not used this in over a year, and there wasn't really any Pokemon left that I would really want to use the other Masterball on besides Phione.

"Well, I'm ready to go. The only thing left for me here is a Cryonogal. But I have a feeling I won't be seeing one anytime soon, if I see one at all. I guess for now, if you know where any are, we can start heading in that direction," Leo said. He really wanted a Cryonogal, but they were really rare so there was a good chance one wouldn't come his way. Still there was no harm in looking around, and seeing if one came our way or not.

"Well, if I had to guess I'd say they probably lived inside of one of the caves, though I don't know which one exactly, so I suppose we can just check them all," I said to Leo as I started to lead him along. We entered one of the caves, and it was a bit too dark for my taste. "Come on out Chandelure," I said as I released the dual Ghost/Fire-type from its Pokeball. "I want you to take the lead, and use your flames like a torch to light up the way we take alright?" I asked Chandelure, who seemed more than happy to do it. We started going through the cave, and it wasn't too long before I say something not too far off. The best way to describe how this Pokemon looked would be to think of a single scoop vanilla ice cream cone. The top part of its body where its face was, was white, and resembled the ice cream, while the body half of its body was more icy looking, and blue, resembling a cone.

"Would you be interested in facing this Vanillite?"

"Well, if I had to guess I'd say they probably lived inside of one of the caves, though I don't know which one exactly, so I suppose we can just check them all," He said to me. I had to agree with him. We walked into one of the near by caves and began exploring in it. They were indeed rare, so if I wanted to see one, we would probably have to go pretty far in or something like that. I wasn't sure what kind of Ice type Pokemon lived in here, but I was pretty sure there wasn't anything else that would catch my attention besides Cryonogal... or maybe a Cubchoo. I wasn't totally certain about Cubchoo. I wanted one because they were adorable, but I already had one so I probably wouldn't go for another.

"Would you be interested in facing this Vanillite?" He asked me. I hadn't been paying attention so I didn't notice that we had run into an ice cream looking Pokemon. I did really want some ice cream right now, but I was fairly certain they didn't taste like it. I knew one of my brothers had a Vanilluxe, so I wasn't particularly interested in catching one right now. I just pulled out a doll in case we couldn't get by it.
