@bestyxD; Sorry this took so long for someone to pick up. You just need to pick natures for your Leafeon and Jolteon. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! ^^

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

The Main Outpost was full of its usual hustle and bustle while secretaries took calls and delivered documents and Rangers wandered around going on runs or other work done. At least, Ivy hoped they were working. Otherwise someone was going to have to do some explaining.

Like why she was stuck cleaning out old files from their cabinets.

They lived in a digital age, but it was Park policy to have hard copies of all documents as well as putting them in the system. People tended to hate doing that, and even though some of the more apt secretaries tried to do it right, the other, not so adept ones just ended up sticking papers here or there. Then, whenever someone tried to find a certain file, it was like playing fifty-two pickup.

The worst part was that sometimes Trainer runs got misplaced in this mess.

“Here, Cynthia,” Ivy said as she pulled out three wrong files from the bottom drawer of the gray filing cabinet. The aide took the manilla folders and carried them out to where they were supposed to be – ancient runs needing to be stored in the archives.

The Ranger brushed her long red hair over her shoulder and sighed from her crouched position on the floor. She had been doing nothing but digging through papers all day and was getting antsy to be doing something else.

She was about to get up and take a break when she noticed something else cream-colored sticking out from under the counter top and in the tiny space between it and the half-sized filing cabinet underneath. She picked it up and opened it on top of the counter and frowned when she read the contents.

“This is a recently submitted run,” she said to nobody in particular. “It should've been taken ages ago. Hey, Martha,” she started, as the strawberry-haired lady looked in her direction. “Send a message to this Trainer that I'll be waiting in Deckbi within the hour so he can start his run.”

That taken care of, she all-too-easily stopped messing with the paperwork and headed to her office to gather her gear. She greeted Haji, her Espeon, as she came in through the door and locked it behind her so nobody else would mess with anything while she was gone. She had learned that the hard way after somebody's idea of a practical joke had made a mess. It took hours to scrub whatever that ink stuff was off of her desk.

“Leo was the last behind the counter,” the purple cat said silently into her mind, reading the thoughts of what she had been doing. He had probably been doing it the whole time. The Psychic-type stretched and rose to sit on top of her rolling desk chair as she gathered up the rope she clipped to her belt and other survival equipment.

As a side thought, she stopped and hit the button to bring her on speaker out in the main room. “Hey, Martha?”

    “Yes?” a voice returned.

“Get Leo to replace me on cleaning. I'm pretty sure he was the one that misplaced the file.”

    “Will do.”

Then, when she was ready, the Espeon warped them to Mount Deckbi. When the feeling of nothingness dissipated, she felt heat. Ivy was almost wishing she didn't have her long red vest over a turtleneck of all things, but it was the cool season, or as cool as Deckbi got anyway, so she should be alright. She'd be glad for the covering later if they went tunneling.

Then, they settled down on the bench up against the outpost to wait for their Trainer to arrive.

@WinterVines; Careful for Leafeon and Brave for Jolteon

I hope I'm not going to be late I wished.I was on my way towards Mount Deckbi going to get my ranger who would take me on my run,It was a very hot area but at this time of season it could be quiet cold at least for there.I was currently already a bit late but i hoped my ranger wouldn't mind, after all it was my first time at the park.

I was now getting closer to the park,I should be there soon I thought to myself as i was walking closer and closer. At least Flareon should enjoy the heat and be relaxed, although he was always relaxed and by my side it would be great for him to become even more relaxed than usual and that is mainly the reason I decided to go to Mount Deckbi but not only this, the other reason was that he wanted to really catch some nice fire type pokemon and if I came across a rock type he would use Leafeon but type advantages didn't always decide a match and I knew it.

Now approaching Mount Deckbi I wondered what my ranger would be like, hopefully he or she will be kind i thought in my head.I then realized i had arrived to Mount Deckbi, and then noticed someone sitting down on a bench “So you must be my ranger for this run” I said then immediately after said “Hi my name is Smith Wells whats yours?” trying to be polite as possible.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

The crunching of gravel underfoot alerted the Ranger to someone approaching. Haji, who had curled up next to her, had probably felt the presence ages before since he picked up on mental energy pretty easily. Ivy was still getting used to the perks of having a Psychic-type Pokemon as a partner. Sometimes she could sense energy too.

“So, you must be my Ranger for this run,” someone said, and Ivy looked up to see who she presumed to be her Trainer. Before she could answer, he introduced himself. “Hi, my name is Smith Wells. What's yours?”

At least he was polite. There were some Rangers at the office that weren't half as much. “Hi there,” she said as she got up. The Espeon jumped down off the bench to stand beside her as she reached out to shake the Trainer's hand. “I'm Ivy Frost, and yeah, I'm your Ranger today. This is Haji,” she added, motioning to the purple cat.

“From your file, I gather that this is your first time to the Park. It's pretty simple really,” she said, and then looked out to the gate. “Well, the best way to explain it is just to show you. If you follow me, we'll see if we can't find you some Pokemon to catch.”

She then led her Trainer through the gate and up toward the mountain. The base had a lot of dirt and small, stringy plants that could survive without a lot of moisture. There was a lot of that long, dry grass too that tended to whisper when the wind blew through it. Rocks were scattered all over in all different shapes in sizes. On one run, she and a Trainer spent a while pointing out which rocks looked like what.

Before long, the rustling in the grass grew louder than what the wind could be doing. Ivy stopped them and gestured to the patch of brush. A dark blue rock poked out after a couple seconds, and then the rest of the Pokemon was revealed as it tumbled out onto the path. It was pretty much a blue-ish colored rock with two brown legs and a type of rocky hair on top. The center was dyed yellow to look like an eyeball.

“Well here's a Roggenrola,” she told the Trainer. “That's a pretty basic and easier Pokemon to catch if you have any interest in it. If not, we can see if this little guy will let us pass without a fuss to try and find something else.”

Then she waited for Smith to decide.

@WinterVines; if I don't get past it ill buy a Pokedoll and take away money next post

“I'm Ivy Frost, and yeah, I'm your Ranger today. This is Haji” The ranger said while shaking my hand ,Haji seemed to be a Espeon along with my Eveelutions that made 4.Then the ranger began to speak again “From your file, I gather that this is your first time to the Park. It's pretty simple really,” she said, and then looked out to the gate. “Well, the best way to explain it is just to show you. If you follow me, we'll see if we can't find you some Pokemon to catch.” cool I thought in my head Then Haji and Ivy began to show me the way, threw the gate then up towards the mountain.

On the way there i saw a lot of rocks and dirt also some little stringy plants which I was very surprised about,it would be a very dry place. Then i noticed some grass which looked very dry,the wind would sometimes make it make a strange noise like whispering or something. There was rocks scattered every where. Then ranger Ivy guided me to a patch of brush with one blue rock standing out then I noticed its little two brown legs and immediately noticed it was a Roggenrola then Ivy began to speak,“Well here's a Roggenrola,” she told me. “That's a pretty basic and easier Pokemon to catch if you have any interest in it. If not, we can see if this little guy will let us pass without a fuss to try and find something else.”

Hmm I thought in my head then realised she was waiting for an answer,I then thought about it in my head then came to the decision “Well I think i would rather try to catch a other pokemon,I came to this decision because if it exploded on Leafeon it would do a ton of damage”I said trying to be quiet so it wouldn't notice us and hopefully let us past “I guess if we cant get past ill buy a pokedoll from you” I said then went into my bag and took out a string of money luckily I had took it with me I thought then waited to see if the ranger could guide me around it.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Smith thought for a moment and then said he would rather try to catch a different Pokemon. He was worried about this one exploding on him, which was a valid worry. The Pokemon in the wild here rarely did that sort of dangerous move, but it did happen occasionally. Not only would it do a large amount of damage to the Trainer's Pokemon, but the wild Pokemon would also knock itself out, making it impossible to catch. That was the rule here in the Park; the wild Pokemon had to still be conscious when capture was attempted.

“All right, not a problem,” Ivy said, turning back to the wild Pokemon. Before she could say anything to the Roggenrola, however, it decided it wasn't going to stick around.

With a small sound, the little rock tried to turn around, only to trip and land on its front with a whoosh. Then it made what she guessed as an embarrassed noise as it scrambled back into the brush. Ivy supposed that if she fell on her face she'd be a little embarrassed too. In fact, that was something she often tried to prevent when she was with Trainers. Falling on one's face wasn't pleasant.

The Ranger led the group up the path and toward the mountain. Soon they'd be at the base of Mount Deckbi, and the Trainer would have to decide whether he wanted to go into the caves or up the side of the rock. She supposed it depended on what he was looking for. They still had a little ways to go yet, though.

Before long, Ivy caught sight of another Pokemon. She stopped and pointed to it, saying, “See that one over there?”

It was a small, red bipedal Pokemon with a cream-colored belly and a lumpy red afro on top of its head. It looked to be running around picking up something. It wandered over to them and held one of the objects up for Ivy to take.

“Oh, thanks,” she said as she took a smooth-surfaced stone from it. Then she turned back to Smith. “What about this one?”

    @WinterVines;

“All right, not a problem” said Ranger Ivy then turned back to look at the Roggenrolla, but it then tried to run away and turned around however fell on its face and quickly dashed off.The ranger then showed me the way further to the mountain, soon we would be at the base and I would decide if we go into the caves or up to the rocks but I would decide that when it came to it.

A little bit after ranger Ivy seemed to catch sight of a pokemon,“See that one over there?” she said while pointing to it.

It was a pinkish pokemon with what looked like a a big blob of hair,I then immediately noticed it was a Magby. It then came over to me and Ivy before giving her a iteam“Oh, thanks,”said ranger Ivy while taking the item then turned back to me,“What about this one?” the ranger then asked.

I then thought it looked like a very kind pokemon, then immediately said “Alright ill battle it” then shouted “Go Flareon” and threw Flareon's pokeball and then said “Use Smog then Fire Blast”, the plan of this was to use smog so the Magby wouldn't see and couldn't attack, then use a powerful Fire blast to do some damage and then as Flareon started using Smog I waited to see how Magby would reply,if the little pokemon would use a move.

    @bestyxD; Magby gender?

    BP#1

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

“Alright, I'll battle it,” Smith said when he had made up his mind.

Ivy wasn't too worried. Magby was another fairly easy Pokemon to catch – one that shouldn't damage his own Pokemon too much. Since they were just beginning the run, that was always a good thing. It wouldn't do to tire out the Pokemon on the first stretch.

“Go, Flareon,” he called as he threw down a red and white Pokeball.

The red and cream-colored fox appeared in a flash of light, looking ready to fight. Flareon was a good choice against Magby since it couldn't be hurt by fire moves. Of course, Magby learned other moves, but they'd be less powerful.

The Magby was intrigued at the other Fire-type, so it didn't make any movements right away. Smith didn't wait to call out an order, though, when he said, “Use Smog then Fire Blast.”

The Flareon took a deep breath, and when he released it, a thick purple-gray smog rolled out. It filled the area like fog would, coating the environment in a haze that was hard to see through. Ivy coughed a little and had to put her sleeve up to her face so she could breathe a little easier.

It wasn't totally impossible to see, but it was pretty difficult. Ivy only got a flash of red before she saw the Magby move. It was taking advantage of the darkness to launch an attack. One minute it was there, and the next it wasn't, instead coming in close to attack Flareon. It looked like a Faint Attack, and although Flareon was knocked back a little bit, he didn't look too hurt.

Flareon shook off the attack as the Magby disappeared back into the smog, opening his mouth for his next attack. Before Ivy could warn him, a fire-pronged star shape appeared in flames, shooting out into the smog. Like a firecracker, the poison mist crackled and sparked, and then it combusted, engulfing the whole area in flames.

Ivy was really glad that they were in a remotely empty area, instead of the grassy one they had seen the Roggenrola in. Those weeds would've burned up, causing a lot of damage to the park. Trainers could get in trouble for that sort of thing. Luckily for them, there were only a few rocks here and there on the barren ground.

The Magby squealed when the flames touched it, despite being Fire-type itself. She still couldn't really see it through all the smoke, this time from the Fire Blast. They would have to wait until it dissipated.

“Careful,” she called out to the Trainer. “A lot of Poison-type moves are flammable, so careful not to set something on fire when you don't want to.”

    @WinterVines;Male please

Flareon then used Smog,it made everywhere all smoggy and unable to see, then i noticed the Magby move it used the smog to its advantage and moved about very fast then attacked from the side.It lookd like a Faint Attack it knocked my Flareon back a little bit but other wise seemed only to do little damage,Flareon then shook it off and got ready to fire blast.

Then Flareon opened its mouth and released fire.I was glad there weren't any bits of grass here because if there were i could have got in trouble for destroying park property.Flareon then set everything surrounding on fire and the Magby squealed quite quietly as the flames hut it,despite being a fire type it seemed to have done some damage to it,but the smoke wasn't clear,I couldn't see it.“Careful” she called out trying to give me advice,“A lot of Poison-type moves are flammable, so careful not to set something on fire when you don't want to.” I would keep that in my head I thought then said “Thanks for the advice”

I then thought of what to do next ,what move I could use then I had an idea. The smog was still surrounding the area and I knew just what attack to use,Quick attack. It would be not long before the smog would disappear so using quick attack would be perfect it would have attacked before the smog cleared and would do some damage. But the problem would be finding the Magby

Then i had a good idea,to have Flareon attack threw the smog,I would then have definitely attacked Magby but the problem would be if it moved,I then said “Flareon, use Quick Attack threw the smog” and waited to see if the Magby would move before Flareon could use quick attack.

Smith thought about what to do next for a few moments, but the smog held steady, slowly creeping in different directions. It wouldn't be long before it disappeared entirely, and that would reveal the battlefield a little better. Currently it was helping both Pokemon stay hidden from each other, but that was going to end soon.

The Trainer than called out to his Flareon. “Flareon,” he said, “use Quick Attack through the smog.”

That was good thinking, because they probably had to act fast while they had cover. It would be challenging to find the Magby through the haze, but since they were both fire types, it was likely they could sense each other. If not by the energy, then perhaps by the heat each one gave off. Haji, her Espeon, could track energy like that easily since he was Psychic-type.

The fire fox charged into the mist without hesitation. A few seconds of silence lingered, but then she heard the Magby cry out. The little Fire-type came tumbling out of the smog head over heels as it rolled. Flareon must've hit it hard.

Then, the fog dissipated, from a combination of the Fire Blast effects ad the wind. At first, Ivy thought that Flareon had surprised the Magby and came away unfazed, but as the smoke cleared, she saw that Flareon was shaking off the effects of some sort of attack. From the tiny sparks she could see, she guessed it was probably Thunder Punch.

Sometimes that attack paralyzed the opponent, but Flareon didn't look affected like that. The tiny electrical sparks were already fading away like static electricity. Crippling the Fire-type would've made this fight really hard.

She turned back to the Magby when she heard it crying out again. This time, it was a sort of battle cry because it was focusing on charging an attack. A reddish orb was forming in front of one of his outstretched hands, and energy was swirling into it and making the orb larger.

“I think that's a Focus Blast,” she told Smith. The attack hit pretty hard, but it was known to miss pretty frequently. Still, if Flareon didn't move, he would be an easy target since all the smoke was gone. The Trainer would have to think of something.

    @WinterVines; sorry for short post

Flareon then began going through the fog at a fast speed then found Magby and hit him hard,he came out tumbling. Then the smog was clear,Flareon seemed to have took some damage to some how,I then realised what happend, just before Flareon hit it it used Thunder Punch which sometimes paralyzed but it didn't seem to this time because Flareon was able to shake it off.

Then the Magby did its battle cry, probably going to try to attack Flareon,I then noticed a orb being formed in Magby's hands,it looked reddish and there seemed to be energy going in to it some how.“I think that's a Focus Blast” she said to me,it would do a lot of damage it if it hut but there was a chance it could miss but if I didn't get Flareon to move I would be in trouble.

I then thought how could I avoid it and came up with a plan, use Quick Attack to dodge then use Bite from behind,it seemed like a good plan but I didn't know if Flareon would be able to dodge it.However I needed Flareon to do it or it could do lots and lots of damage,I then said “Flareon, try dodging the Focus Blast with Quick Attack then suprise him from behind with Bite.”I then waited to see if Flareon would be able to dodge it.

@bestyxD; No worries about the shorter posts. For lower-ranked mons like this one, it's no trouble for reaching the MCR. For higher-ranked mons, if you're running out of things to talk about, you could say what you think the attack will do or how your mon will perform it. You can't say if the attack is successful or not, but you can definitely speculate.

    BP#3

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Smith had to think fast because the little Magby didn't stop charging his attack. Thankfully he came up with one as Flareon shook off the last of the effects from the Thunder Punch. He called out, “Flareon, try dodging the Focus Blast with Quick Attack then surprise him from behind with Bite.”

Quick Attack would let the fire fox move pretty fast, but Ivy was a little puzzled by his choice. Wasn't that technique the one he had just used to let his Pokemon move through the Smog? Of course, there wasn't anything wrong with calling repeat moves, in theory. The only problem was that the wild Pokemon tended to pick up on what the other one was doing faster, and sometimes that made them dodge or counterattack pretty easily.

There wasn't any time to warn him, however, since the Flareon wasted no time in dashing off toward his opponent. There wasn't time to lose as the Focus Blast orb got larger and stronger.

At first, it looked like Flareon was going to run straight into the little Magby in more of a tackle than a dodging maneuver. However, at the last second, the fox jumped to the side and seemed to disappear, only reappear behind the little Fire-type.

Unfortunately, it was just as Ivy feared. Since the Magby had already been surprised by this attack once, he wasn’t going to be surprised again, at least not in such close proximity of it being used. He whirled with his energy, and as Flareon rushed in for the hit, he let off the blast at close range.

Both hits collided and a cloud of smoke expanded from the blast site. Flareon was knocked back, sent head over tail as he tumbled. The Magby was knocked down into a sitting position too, probably a little surprised at what had happened. He had his arms covering his head.

Flareon took a second to shake his head and re-orient himself, but he didn't sit around. With a lunge he headed straight for the Magby again and latched his teeth onto an arm with his Bite attack. The Magby instantly responded, crying out and flinging his arms around voilently, trying to get the fox off of him.

When that didn't work, he let out a piercing Screech, and the Flareon flinched as he let go of the small Fire-type's arm. His ears were flattened a little, and he looked a little stunned for a moment. Ivy's hears sort of hurt just form hearing it, and she was farther away and had less-sensitive ears than the Flareon did.

Hopefully Smith would come up with something before the Magby did a lot of damage. Flareon would probably be a little sensitive for a bit.

@WinterVines; Ok ill be sure to keep that in mind

Flareon began dashing off, going to try to avoid the Magby's attack. At first it looked like Flareon was going to tackle him but then disappeared to the side for a moment before reappearing behind the Magby, however Magby wouldn't fall for it and as Flareon lifted off Magby lit off the Focus Blast close to Flareon.

The blast made smoke appear as the attacks collided and Flareon was sent flying, head over tail and Magby put to a sitting position probably shocked.Flareon didn't take long to shake the attack but still it done a lot of damage, Flareon then went in rushing and but the Magby's arm,Magby then tried to shake him off but me wouldn't be able to.

Then suddenly Magby let out a screech, making Flareon let go of his arm.Hmm I thought thinking what to do now, Flareon then had a little flattened ears and made Flareon stunned for a minute and hut my ears a bit and I was much farther away than Flareon was, it could do lots of damage if i wasn't careful.

I then decided what i was going to do,catch it now so it wouldn't do any more damage to Flareon and I could keep him at good health for any later battles I would need him for.I then told Flareon “Good battling Flareon, now lets capture this Magby,” I then took a Hyper ball from my bag.

@bestyxD; Didn't work this time, but you can reuse that ball later. The HP is still pretty high; that's why the catch rate was so low.

    BP#4

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Smith didn't call out any orders for Flareon right away. Instead, he pulled out what looked like a Hyper Ball. He was going to try and catch the Magby now. The Hyper Balls were a lot better at catching Pokemon than the others. Sometimes they added just enough catch strength to succeed where others would not. They were also the only type of ball other than the specially-made Apriballs that could catch a Pokemon in its third evolution stage.

Ivy was a little worried about this one, though. They had indeed been battling for a little while, but the Magby still looked like it had a lot of energy left. When wild Pokemon did, they tended to put up a lot more of a struggle when breaking out of a ball. Still, luck was always an element, so maybe he would get lucky.

“Good battling, Flareon,” he said, praising his Pokemon. “Now let's capture this Magby.”

The Ranger noticed that he didn't call out any commands for Flareon if the capture attempt failed. A lot of Trainers forgot to do that, actually, and sometimes, when the catch didn't work, that resulted in extra damage to their Pokemon. It was always a good idea to have a back-up plan.

Smith threw the ball while the Magby was still sitting on the ground. He had stopped screeching, thankfully, and if he had still been making the sound, the red light engulfing him would've ceased it as he was sucked into the Hyper Ball. The device fell to the ground a second after that, hitting the ground with a plop and a short burst of dirt. Then, it shook violently, and just moments before the device would've locked, the Magby came bursting out of it.

The Hyper Ball went flying across the field, way out of reach from them. They would've had to cross over the Pokemon to get it. From what she could tell, though, Ivy didn't think it was broken. That meant the Trainer could go retrieve it after the battle and use it on another Pokemon. Very rarely did they fall wrong or get attacked so they would break.

“You'll probably have to try weakening him just a little bit more,” Ivy told the Trainer. “He's got just too much energy to be confined right now.”

Then, the Magby got to his feet. He looked a little upset now, and he stomped around for a minute, creating a half-circle of stomped ground in front of him. Flareon was trying to watch him, but the fox was still a little distracted by the noise that had grated on his ears. Then, the little fire-type ran and slid a little, right into the place he had been churning.

Sand flew up, heading right for Flareon in what she thought was a Mud Slap attack. Since it was so dry, it ended up looking a lot more like a Sand-attack instead, but either way, it was still going to distract Flareon. The bits of dust and dirt flew up into his face, sticking in his fur and getting into his vulnerable face. The fox immediately put his head down and tried to brush off the dirt with his front paws, but he was struggling. It was going to take him a minute.

Then, the Magby stilled a bit, looking intently at his opponent. He was focusing very hard. That probably meant that his next coming attacks would hit Flareon even harder. Smith was going to have to be careful, and if he tried to capture the Magby again, he should make sure that Flareon was ready to act if it didn't work out.

@WinterVines; lol at move used for flareon

I then threw the hyper ball and it hut Magby who was sitting on the ground, thankfully he was not screeching anymore otherwise if he was it could have broken the hyper ball. When it hut Magby a red light come out and dragged Magby in, it then fell to the ground and started shaking then finally just when I thought Magby was caught it broke free.

The pokeball then jumped behind the Magby, luckily it didn't break because I could need it later if i caught 3 pokemon.Ranger Ivy then said “You'll probably have to try weakening him just a little bit more,” “He's got just too much energy to be confined right now.” Magby then sat up, looking upset. My guess was it was upset because I tried to capture it.

He then started stomping about creating half circles, Flareon trying to watch it but the noise was still in its ears.Sand then flew up and then headed for Flareon, it was a Mud Slap attack but it ended up looking like a sand attack because it was so dry.It then got in Flareon's fur and started irritating him, he then put his head down trying not to get it on his face.

Magby then looked at Flareon focusing very hard, that meant the next time it attacked it would hit harden and if I was not carefull could do some serious damage to Flareon, but that wouldn't stop us from catching it.

I then knew what move to use, Superpower. But I was almost sure it would knock it out so i decided not to use it and instead i then relised the move i could use that wouldn't knock it out but make it weak enough to catch, Strength it would be perfect so then I called “Flareon shake the sand off then lets show him our power, use Strength” then waited as the furry fox tried to shake the sand off.

@bestyxD; Park damage is calculated differently than in a battle, so you can modify the attack strength of any move you like. You could just tell your mon to use it at half strength, perform it a certain way as to not do as much damage, or something like that. Very rarely do wild Pokemon get KO'd by Rangers if the Trainer isn't being unnecessarily cruel, a jerk, etc, so you don't have to worry about that so much. Damage is usually determined by post quality and difficulty of move, and a Trainer can vary all these to do a wide variety of things. Also, in case you didn't know, you can have your Pokemon do something in the same post as a capture attempt too.

Smith seemed to debate on a move for a moment. He began to say something when he stopped and changed his mind. Then he called out to his Pokemon. “Flareon, shake the sand off, then let's show him our power. Use Strength!”

The fire fox obeyed, shaking his head even more violently and scraping with his paws to shake out as much dirt as he could. There was a chance that it could still affect him, however, including making his techniques be off aim. If he missed, the Magby would probably retaliate pretty quick, and they needed to wear down the little Fire-type before they could catch him. That meant landing attacks.

Flareon looked okay as he got up and went running toward the Magby, the sand kicking up behind his feet. Strength required a lot of body force, since it was usually used to move things like large boulders or even other Pokemon. The fox gained momentum as he ran, which would help him do more damage if he managed to hit.

Thankfully, the Magby was still coming out of his focus phase, so he wasn't quick enough to move out of the Flareon's way. The fox barreled into him, knocking him over and sending him skidding across the ground, kicking up dust and even a few rocks along the way.

The small Fire-type didn't stay down long, however. In almost no time at all he got back up and went charging back at Flareon, lowering his head at the last minute. With a Headbutt, he knocked Flareon down on his side, stunned for a second. It didn't look like it did too much damage, which meant that the Magby had wanted to use the technique for its flinching ability. Was he planning something?

“Smith, look out!” Ivy called. “That's a Focus Punch!”

The Magby hopped back to give himself some room and then really tightened his focus. He planted his feet square and braced his arms in Ls at his side, getting ready to punch the fox. If Flareon couldn't stop the attack, it would hit him really hard. There was no time to waste.

@WinterVines; I knew that, I guess I did that to make the post more interesting

Flareon then started shaking his head, scraping with his paws.It could be bad if he didn't get all of the dirt out of him, it could make Flareon's attack less powerful and miss. But hopefully it would get out of Flareon's fur.

Flareon then stood up, went and started running towards Magby, the sand then started kicking up from his feet.Strength needed some body strength so how powerful the attack would be would be a test of how good I had trained Flareon.

Flareon then rammed in to Magby, luckily for me it had just finished focusing and couldn't avoid the attack in time. The attack then made Magby and a few rocks slide away, as well as some dust however Magby almost immediately got up then lowered his head and charged. It was Headbutt! the little small fire type then managed to find its mark and knocked Flareon on its side and made it stunned but it didn't seem to do to much damage though.

“Smith, look out!” Ranger Ivy called. “That's a Focus Punch!.”The ranger had seemed to have spotted something.Something that I didn't.

“Right” I then replied and Magby then hoped back, giving its self some room and then started focusing again, except this time it was going to use a attack. Focus Punch, I had never seen the move before but it looked powerful.Magby then made his arms in to Ls and got ready, I had to do something fast.

I then thought to try to capture or not? then i finally made up my mind. “Flareon if we don't capture Magby then use sand attack to try and distract Magby” I told Flareon trying to find my second Hyper ball , Flareon then nodded in agreement.I then finally found it and then focused only on capturing the Magby, I was then ready, ready to catch my first pokemon at the park.

The Magby continued to ready his Focus Punch, and the Trainer only took seconds to decide what he was going to do. He didn't have a lot of choice on that.

He did pull out another Hyper Ball and call out to his Pokemon. “Flareon,” he said, “if we don't capture Magby, use Sand-Attack to try and distract him.”

The fox nodded his head and poised to act if he was needed. He braced his legs, and Ivy knew that took a lot of guts. It was hard to stay still and wait to act when someone was planning an attack on you. Still, he waited for his Trainer to throw the ball.

This time, it hit the Magby in the head. He didn't have a lot of time to protest, though, since that red light sucked him up into the device. It snapped shut and dropped to the dirt, and it wiggled violently. In the end, it clicked locked for good, and the center of the ball lit up in red.

“Congrats,” Ivy said as she went over to pick the Hyper Ball up. She dropped it in one of her vest pockets for safe keeping. “I'll hang onto any Pokemon you catch until you're ready to head out. How's it feel to have caught your first Pokemon at the Park?” she asked.

She also retrieved his other Hyper Ball from the failed capture and walked over to hand it back to him. “Here, you can use this later. Do you want to take a short break or keep going?”

    @WinterVines;

I then threw the ball as Flareon watched, it the hit Magby in the head and then guided him into the ball. It then fell to the ground and started shaking, shaking then suddenly it then clicked shut and the center lit up.

“Congrats,” the ranger said then went over and picked up the pokeball Magby was caught in, then said “I'll hang onto any Pokemon you catch until you're ready to head out. How's it feel to have caught your first Pokemon at the Park?” “It feels relay good” I replied, happy with my catch.

Then the ranger went and got the Hyper Ball which I failed to capture with and gave it to me then said “Here, you can use this later. Do you want to take a short break or keep going?.”

“Yeah lets keep going” I replied then got Flareon back in his pokeball and as the red light took Flareon in his pokeball in my head wondered what pokemon we would encounter next maybe a fire type, rock type? who knew. Then I waited for ranger Ivy to see where we would be going next.

“It feels really good,” Smith said in response to Ivy's question. He looked happy about catching his first Pokemon here, and she was glad.

He then decided to keep going. He called Flareon back into his Pokeball with a beam of red light and waited for her to lead them on.

Haji went in front of her, and they continued on the path to the mountain. This time, they made it to the base, and it was time to make the decision of going through the tunnels inside or up the side of the mountain.

A variety of Pokemon were found on either route and sometimes a few species were found on both. There was also the chance of a Pokemon wandering here or there across the landscape, so wild Pokemon weren't always in their most suited habitat. She thought it would be an interesting trip no matter which way the Trainer wanted to go.

Before she could ask him, however, she noticed a Pokemon when she turned around.

It was sitting just to the left side of the path, arranging a ring of rocks around itself. It was a small shrew-like Pokemon with yellow, scaly skin and a cream-colored stomach. When it noticed the group stopped, it looked up from its work and said, “Shrew?”

“Looks like this Sandshrew might be interested in a battle. Want to take a shot at it, Smith?” she asked.

    @WinterVines;

The ranger's Espeon Haji then went in front and leaded then way, up the path n the mountain and then we had made it in the base. It was time to decide in through the tunnel or up the mountain, I was certain I knew what to do.

Ranger Ivy then seemed to be thinking about something, and was just going to talk. Then suddenly she seemed to notice a pokemon.

It was to the left, building rocks around its self.Yellow with a creamed colour belly, there was only one pokemon it could be.Sandshrew. Then when we stopped to look at it it looked up and said Shrew? as if it was confused .

“Looks like this Sandshrew might be interested in a battle. Want to take a shot at it, Smith?” the ranger asked then waited for me to reply.

“Hmmm, well I'm not relay sure I guess ill try to escape from it if possible. But if not ill battle it and consider it then.”I then looked at the ranger will a thoughtful face, thinking if I might want to catch it.But i guess if it will let us past I wont get to so best to only think about that if and when it comes i told myself then waited to say what the ranger would say.
