They do it because they want to be recognized, they want to be known for something they did or were, they want to be motivated so they are able to keep on playing the URPG without losing interest, they want to be able to experience it differently, and most importantly they want to get owned, have their dreams crushed, simply because they suck at what they want to do and will never be able to achieve anything of significance in this game and this is their only opportunity to realize that. :conangry:

    And for the torchics...

Tbh, I did it because I enjoyed being able to get more experience with certain types of Pokemon and the constant battling helped me make lots of money. But I did enjoy all the extra chicks around. Gym trainers, anyone?

Cause i think that its a challenge that all must take to understand how to be able to use unused types to their full potential, and how hard it is to use a single type team. :)

So basically there are no good reasons to be a gym leader.

Because it has steadily improved me throughout the years, given me a consistent reason to keep battling and makes me a pretty nice chunk of change all the while with me having to do barely anything for it.
