    Let's make this place aliiive.
This RP thing is gonna be run by me and LightningFast, who'll post sometime soon with some stuff. We're not opening signups yet, but it couldn't be longer than 1 or 2 days until they do. So, dive into the plot already!

We call it Aeria. This place, country, region, whatever you call it. You could look down at it from the skies, and you would see 7 islands. One large one surrounded by 6 others with huge bridges, half hour drives in a car, stretching between them. Each contains a city and a surrounding area. It all seems like a serene, established place. But only if you're a thousand miles in the air, looking down. You'd be lucky to be that far away. A civil war will break out between a few citizens and government.

The government is highly skilled and highly regarded. Cities are kept under heavy security at all times as so to prevent anyone from getting anywhere they ought not to be. The cities are all rather large, so most don't mind. The capital keeps everything under control. But the people don't like each other. The government is advertised as highly democratic, run by the citizens. Everything needed to be decided by government is done by vote. Everyone votes, and it's highly private as to what you vote for. You can't tell anyone. The votes are all gathered at the capital. They are tampered as so to meet the needs of a singular person who actually has a tight fist around the country.

    A Tyrant.

The votes are tampered, laws are passed that were "suggested by the citizens," and every day, it seems that the region gets worse. People trust the people that keep everything running and hate each other for voting badly when they didn't. They believe in the people that are ruining their lives and they hate those who, if they work together, could fix it.

Some people realize this. They break away from communities, train Pokémon to fight. They turn to the rebels who plan to uprise, make the people understand what's wrong and fix the situation they are put in. It is called Team Nighthawk. But the rest of the people don't realize where the problems are coming from. They think that if the Nighthawks ascend into power things will only get worse. Everyone is against them.

Most people can't do anything for laws against owning Pokémon or don't want to because they are brainwashed by the conditions placed by the Tyrant. Others work alone, hired assassins or freelance travelers. They understand things are odd, they might even know exactly what the problem is, but they haven't done anything to fix it, or don't want to put a target on themselves by joining the Nighthawks.

It's up to you what methods are employed to fix it. What will you do?

Well, you know about the plot now. Here's LightningFast with some info on the location, and some basic rules.

    This is Aeria.

Aeria is the country where our story takes place. It is made up of seven small islands, each with their own unique properties. Most noticeable is the crown-shaped island in the middle

The Capital is obviously… the capital. It’s right in the center of the map. It’s where most of the people live, and where the government buildings are located. It’s nothing special, but it’s the oldest, and most important part of the region. Any laws are ‘voted’ on by the people, and then reviewed here. Only the soldiers are allowed to keep Pokémon, and they are poorly-trained for the most part.

Biflora is the island to the northwest of the capital. It is covered in lush flower gardens, and is mostly flat regarding trees and mountains. Although it’s less populated than the capital, most of the agriculture takes place on the island.

Embria, unlike Biflora, is very mountainous. There is a volcano at the northern most point, but it’s highly unlikely to erupt. Even then, there is a way to detect the eruption, and evacuate the island. Many minerals can be found on this island, and it is the warmest due to the volcano.

Oasia is a tropical paradise, and the ideal vacation spot. Aside from the Capital, this island has the highest population. Most seniors live on this island, and it is a very popular tourist attraction. It still freezes in winter, however.

Timbria is the island covered in trees. Lately, however, a lot of clear-cutting has been taking place. Although out of all the populated islands it has the fewest people living on it, there are more Pokémon here than anywhere else in Aeria. However, because catching Pokémon to use for battle is illegal, it’s only visited to collect lumber. Unfortunately, because of this, many Pokémon are losing their homes, and cannot go to any other part of the country.

Mechalonia has no people on it, and is only made up of powerplants and landfills. The entire area has been decimated, and the only Pokémon are used as a labour force. It is the only island where training them is permitted, and not for battle. However, because workers spend so much time around Pokémon, they usually treat them better than most citizens, and are permitted to keep one for work purposes, as long as they are kept under control.

Hawkwind is the place where all the so-called ‘criminals’ reside. There are no other people besides policemen that prevent them from getting off the island. The criminals include murderers, thieves, and um… Pokémon trainers, who used to hold underground fights in the slummy parts of the citties. (It’s only illegal if you get caught though!) Although the city council tries to be ‘humane’ by sending people there instead of exiling them, they’re usually killed or enslaved by thugs who have long since gone mad from being on the island too long. Although the government is aware of this, nothing is done. Most importantly, Team Nighthawk is located on this island, and has the support of nearly all the sane criminals. Whether they chose to do something or not is up to them. There is also a jail located in the center of the island, but only the most nefarious of criminals, and the best of trainers are locked up there.

That’s all the islands you need to know about! Here’s the sign-up sheet.

    ADVENTURE TIME!!

(I’ll use my info as a short example.)

    Name: Daniel
    Gender: Male
    Age: 14

Description: 5 feet 5 inches, wears a blue shirt and brown cargo pants most of the time, needs glasses (see avatar), brown hair, scrawny arms, but strong legs. Wears fingerless gloves, mostly because he thinks they make him look cool.

Personality: A rebellious teenager and a bit of a loner. Used to be energetic and full of life, now depressed after his father's death. Tries to remain optimistic to hide it, and gets by on his good sense of humour.

Small Backstory: His dad was killed by the government a few years ago for training Pokemon to battle. It turns out he was trying to raise an army and start a rebellion. This failed, and his mother and sister fled the country. He was imprisoned before he could escape with them, but has broken out of jail several times since and vows to continue his dad's legacy. He's been in and out of jail since he was 12.

Other: He happens to be a tech-whiz, and can craft gadgets out of almost anything. Wants to be an actor when this is all over, and reunite with his mother and sister if they are still alive.

    Name: Jake

    Gender: Male

    Age: 16

Description: longish hair after a school cut look, about 5,5 and medium build (not to skinny not to wide) he’s pretty athletic, but only runs and exerts himself when he needs to.
Personality: He makes friends easily and hates the capitol and its people, especially the government. He loves Pokémon and wants to make people friends with them again.

Small Backstory: He was the son or a policeman, he grew up going to school and abiding by all the rules. Just before his 16 birthday he left school so as to join the police force just like his dad had done. He passed all his academy exams with high marks and was accepted to become a policeman and was given a Pokémon. He began to spend more time with his Pokémon then he was meant to and on his first police mission to raid a house, he found out what police really did. How the tortured and attacked innocent people then hushed it up, killed Pokémon that were being trained and were more criminal then those they sent to hawkwind. He ran away from the capitol that same day with nothing but his police uniform and Pokémon, unfortunately because of the uniform he was harassed on his escape to hawkwind where he knew he would be safe from his family of police. And wasn’t let in until he took off his uniform and donned the outfit of an outlaw all black clothing with a black belt , holding a pokeball. Now he is on his own in hawkwind, not knowing where he should go or to trust, only knowing that he will over throw the capitol one day and reunite its people with Pokémon, even if he has to become a criminal.

Other?: Current Pokémon – Growlithe Wants to meet up and team with Daniel

“Ha! So long sucker!” I screamed as I dashed away from the jail in the center of the island. I was arrested again for training Pokémon, escaping from jail, and stealing weapons from the federal armoury. I was deemed unfit, even for the company of other criminals. I had never hurt a man unless in self-defense, but the government knew I knew what they didn’t want anyone else to know. I would’ve rotted away in that jail for years had I not had a man on the inside.

Fortunately, I never bring them with unless I’m going into battle, so they were safe at my base. Hawkwind was a very dangerous place, but there was one safe haven that only I knew the location of. It was an abandoned warehouse on the eastern-most point of the island. There were several rumors about it being haunted, so few ventured there. As a matter of fact, it was haunted; by me and my Pokémon, who drove off any unsavory characters and policemen.

I looked around to make sure nobody was watching. The coast was clear, and my Pidgeot was circling us from above. I waved to her and she flew down to me. “Good job, Alaska.” I said, “Now come on inside.” Pulling a key out of my pocket, I unlocked the door and walked inside. Pidgeot followed. Most of my Poké Balls were locked up in the basement, so I had nothing to worry about. For the time being, I was safe.

“I hope there’s someone out there who can help me…” I said quietly, “Surely, others know about the oppressive government…

OOC: Is it kwl if I bump into you in the doorway if not ill say I bumped into something like a umbrella stand or something.

“Come on Dee, this is what we have to do. We have no other place to go.” Said Jake to his young growlithe that was walking beside him.
The two were walking down the road towards a large building that was said to be haunted.
    “Growl...” Dee grumbled.
“Look there’s no other place we can stay because no one will take us, and this way we are sure to not be disturbed whilst we train. Nobody will go into the house except us, and especially not the basement where we plan to hang out. Ok?”
    “Growl”
The two friends entered through the doorway quickly after picking the lock as he was trained to do when he was a police officer. Hoping that the darkness of the night would stop people from seeing them enter. Unfortunately though they bumped into something.

OOC: I'm going to be gone until Friday; signups and the RP are still open though. Sorry Eternus!
OOC2: Scratch that, this place has free WiFi so I can make short RP posts on my iPod... Carry on.
    ----
I felt something bump into me as I proceeded further into the room. Either my prayers were answered, or my worst nightmare was upon me. I couldn't quite make out his face, but he was about my height, and had a smaller, and most likely weaker Pokemon.
Pidgeot seemed to be getting ready to strike. "Now I don't want to hurt you..." I said, unsheathing a knife I stole from an officer should I come across such an occasion, "But if you're a cop, I'm afraid I'm going to have to kill you. Sorry, really, but it's just business."

Got something a little different in terms of character to join in with:

    Name: Lyanna
    Gender: Female
    Age: 12
Description: Roughly 5ft 3in, frail frame, auburn hair and heterochromatic eyes (one pale blue, the other emerald green - she's pretty self-conscious about them). Clothing-wise tends to prefer pale colours and simple, but elegant dresses.
Personality: Shy and retiring type, would much prefer to curl up with a good book than anything else. However she is also a very dutiful girl, and does what she is told, although secretly spends most of her time lost in fantasies of the old days (think stories of medieval knights with Pokemon).
Small Backstory: Daughter of the current Tyrant, spends most of her time in their palatial home either learning the ways of state or listening to her Governess, an aging woman by the name of Rachel (and secret member of Team Nighthawk), tell her stories of the old days; when brave heroes and their noble Pokemon roamed the lands and meted out justice. Although strictly forbidden to by her father she secretly hopes one day to train a Pokemon like the heroes in the stories.
    Other: Currently has no Pokemon

Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's feet/plans with this character concept. I'm probably going to do my first RP post later tonight, but plan for my first few posts to be character building without involvement in the main plot, so carry on without me and I'll get her to you guys eventually.
Also I'm working along the concept that whilst the Tyrant's sole leadership is kept hidden from the general populace, those working in the top echelons of government and directly around the Tyrant are much more open about it when no one else is around.

((If you guys would really rather I stuck with something more in line with the sort of characters already in play I have a backup plan that I can flesh out and replace her with if absolutely necessary))

Lyanna sighed to herself as she set aside the book that she'd been reading. There was something about the censor-edited version of this story that paled in comparison to the bootleg original that she'd managed to sneak a peak at last month; it was too bad she hadn't been able to rescue it from Father's incinerator. She settled into the nest of pillows that she'd sequestored here in the armoury and contemplated the tapestries that adorned the walls - heirlooms from her family's illustrous ancestry that only a fortunate few were allowed to view.
On an intellectual level she could understand Father's decision to prohibit Pokemon training, given the uses that villains put them to in the stories. But she could never work out exactly why she was also banned, and unless Lyanna found some way to convince Father otherwise she would never know the same joy and companionship that the great heroes had with their partners. A litany of names paraded themselves through her mind, along with perfect, idolised images of the associated legends; Bardok the Brave, Musashi the Noble, Selwyn the Fool. After a dozen or so heroes had taken their place in the mental parade, one final figure metaphorically leapt into view, her direct ancestor and role model Caoimhe Silverhair, a stunningly beautiful warrior who fought alongside Bug and Grass Pokemon that were gifted to her by the Prince of the Forest in an attempt to woo her.
Just thinking about Caoimhe made Lyanna feel all warm inside, and she could almost picture the heroine standing beside her, resplendant in the forest green armour that now resided in a glass case within the armoury. But just as quickly the warm feeling was gone as the harshness of reality crept back in; there were no heroes any more, just Father's Elite Guard - kevlar vests and submachineguns in place of armour and swords. And the Pokemon at their sides were brutish tools rather than the noble beasts that accompanied the great heroes.

"Miss Lyanna!" A voice called from a nearby room, easily recognisable as Father's head steward, no doubt there was some drastically important event that she needed to witness. As much as Lyanna would have preferred to remain in the lost world of legends, she rose to her feet and smoothed the creases in her dress, using an antique mirror to ensure that she was presentable before responding to the call.

I looked closer at what I had bumped into. Turns out, it was a lamp that I had left there for obvious reasons. Best to leave it off, just in case. I put away my switchblade knife. "Lock the door please, or the police will find us." I said jokingly.

I walked into the basement with my bird Pokemon still following and was greeted by the joyful cries of my Pokemon. My Raichu, named Raiguy, and my Torterra, named Woody, were the ones who I'd left outside of their Poke balls. "Guys, it's time to put the plan I've been working on into action." I paused as Raiguy leaned in eagerly. "Well, I've told you about how the government tries to cover up everything with lies, right?"

Woody knew what I was talking about, but the orange mouse just stared at me with a blank expression on his face. I was glad to have someone around with a shorter attention span than mine, but still pretty irritated. I sighed. "Okay, so they take the results of elections and rig them so the king stays in office. We're going to steal the election records and release them to the public. If not, we can at least stock up on food, or steal some money or something. Now c'mon. We're bringing you three, and Zebstrika and Carracosta for transport. Although he was a valued member of the team, he had long since accepted the fact that the only reason I took him along was to deflect bullets that couldn't pierce his hard shell or thick skin.

It was time to go. I grabbed a few Pokeballs from a cabinet to the left side of the room and grabbed them. I also took a black hoodie (which I hid a stolen bullet-proof vest behind), a pair of goggles, and a plain white baseball cap. "Alright, return guys..." I continued to walk further into the basement until I reached a safe. I opened it, and reached in. I pulled out a sword, but not just any sword. It was a sword made of a powerful steel alloy with an electro-magnet built into it. Charged with electricity, it not only gave a shock to anyone who touched the blade, but it was also capable of attracting some bullets. It could be turned off or down in case of a mishap as well. I made it using nothing but a few wires and melted parts from around the base.

I went back up to the main floor and left, ignoring the lamp... although I did notice it looked a little strange. "Guard the base while I'm gone, 'kay?" I thought I was going insane. I locked it myself when I left, and dropped two Poke Balls to guard the base. One was a large, bulky, yellow creature. "Outlet, stay here."

"ElectiVIRE..." he responded, cracking his knuckles.

The other was a smaller, red and orange Pokemon. "Clucky, help him guard. Beat the everloving crap out of any cop who comes within 50 meters of the place."

The Blaziken looked at Electivire, and he looked back. They both smiled a sadistic smile, and nodded at me. "... You're going to totally murder someone, aren't you?"

    ... Whatever, not my problem.

I left the warehouse and dashed to the beach, located in another clearing next to the abandoned warehouse. "Shellshock, I chose you..." I whispered, as a large, blue turtle-like Pokemon emerged from its Poke ball and landed in the water. "Alright, take us to the closest side of the capital. There's another small coastline where we should be able to get off undetected. It's a sandy area with a few trees; you can't miss it. Go fast for now, but slow down once we get close; we don't want to get spotted." There was a speedboat near us, but it was too noisy to go to the capital without getting discovered. Maybe if someone wanted to follow us... Naw, that'd never happen.

Carracosta nodded, looking annoyed. He was very relaxed about the situation. "Time to go..." I whispered as we left shore, "I'll be back in time for dinner, dad... I promise."

Lyanna could tell that she was late before even entering her father's Grand Hall, the door guards always gave her that same withering look when she showed up late. By now, of course, she knew better than to let it get to her, so she kept her expression neutral as they parted the doors to allow her entry.

"...tand the list of charges brought against you?" the strident voice of Father's High Inquisitor rang out through the chamber, cluing Lyanna in to the proceedings as she hurried down the side of the hall. Though she couldn't see through the crowd of people, she was fairly certain that a man belonging to that dreadful Team Nighthawk organisation would be ringed by guards in the centre of the room. Ordinarily Father allowed cases like this to proceed through the courts as normal, but every so often he personally oversaw the trial of particularly prominent or dangerous criminals - for the good of the people.

Once she reached the end of the Great Hall, Lyanna quietly slunk to her appointed seat by Father's side, confidant that the assembled masses would be paying attention to her as she seated herself. She barely listened to the evidence presented by the High Inquisitor, knowing that it would be very similar to the last dozen or so cases she'd sat in on, and instead took a good look at the criminal before her.

He was surrounded by Father's guards, handcuffed and chained, along with a purple, twin-tailed monkey that she presumed was the Pokemon he was illegally training. The man was tall, well dressed but semi-scruffy looking; all in all he was someone who wouldn't look out of place on the city streets, if you discounted the chains that bound him hand and foot and the guns pressed against his back.
As for the Pokemon, it was one that she recognised from her trips to the orchards of Biflora, but couldn't remember the name of. It lay on the floor with a Houndoom stood on its back, teeth bared and ready to tear it apart if it so much as flinched.

Lyanna wondered briefly what would make someone like this rebel against Father's benevolent rule, but was interupted as the sharp rapping of a staff on the floor indicated that Father has reached his decision. A silenced hush fell across the room as he rose from his chair to pronounce sentance.
"In light of the grievous nature of the charges against you and the compelling nature of the evidence presented here, I, Tynar the Just do hereby find you guilty of sedition and terrorism, and condem you to die. Do you have anything to say before the sentance is carried out?"

OOC: Just skip to the end if you want. I spent like two hours writing it, but there's not much here you really need to see.
    ====
I approached the shore of the island. I was no more than 200 metres away when a shot was fired, nearly hitting me square in the face. “THAT WAS YOUR WARNING SHOT!” screamed a sniper who was standing on shore, “IF YOU TURN BACK NOW, NO HARM WILL COME TO YOU!”

I looked at him, then laughed a bit. It was only him; no other people around, nobody else to make a scene. “Carracosta, use Surf.” I said. A huge wave appeared under us. The sniper continued to fire, but was unable to hit us. We crashed down on the beach, sending a massive wave in his direction. He was flung back onto the sand, gasping for air. His rifle was on the ground about six feet away from him. He tried to reach out and grab it, but I held my sword to his chin. “Okay, I’ll go easy on you this time, since I know you were just doing your job, and there are some REALLY horrible people living on that island. Just give me your gun and I’ll let you off with a warning.

The sniper nodded, and motioned to his rifle. As I was bending down to pick it up, he drew a pistol from his jacket. I wouldn’t have lived to see another day had Carracosta not leaped into action, almost landing on top of the sniper. He was literally two inches above him, holding himself up with his fins. The sniper wimpered and threw his pistol out from under Carracosta. I picked it up and tucked it into the pocket of my hoodie. “Now, take off your uniform.” I said, returning Carracosta to his Poke Ball and releasing Raiguy. The sniper did as asked, stripping down to his brown slacks and white undershirt. Raiguy immediately jabbed him with his tail afterwards, releasing a ThunderWave attack. This rendered him motionless, but not dead. He would come to in about 30 minutes… give or take a few hours. He had a knapsack with him, but I couldn’t find anything of use other than a few boxes of ammo and a sandwich, so I put my new rifle inside it. I indentified it as water proof, so it would work just fine. I continued to walk towards city hall. “Alright Raiguy, get into position...” I said. He ran off quietly, climbing up a building to safety.

I saw propaganda posters everywhere. One even had a picture of my father on it. This enraged me. I ripped the poster from the wall and tore it to shreds. I got a few dirty looks from the passersby. “I just think it’s a bit disrespectful to the dead is all…” I said out of desperation. They sheered, and continued walking. My father was like a modern-day Hitler to them. He’d never killed a soul, man or beast, but he was thought of as a terrorist and a villain.

Raiguy then sprung into action. He began firing lightning bolts down from one of the buildings. He was careful not to hit anyone, but the chaos alone was enough to send them packing. A few soldiers attempted to fire at him, but he summoned a Substitute to take the bullets. As it took the fire, he healed himself with Wish. I climbed up the side of the building and took out my sword. “Stand down, evil one! Do not make me use force!” Raiguy winked at me, and then fired another Thunderbolt attack in my direction. I turned the electromagnet on, and the blade absorbed the attack. It was time to strike. I turned the magnet off, then rushed at Raiguy. I purposely missed up, though he faked a hit. I then took out a Poke Ball. I tapped him on the head and it sucked him in. The ball clicked and I held it in the air like a trophy. The civilians were cheering. I laughed to myself, as a few soldiers climbed up the same way I had.

“Let’s see your hunting license, sir! I’m not sure if you’re aware of how things work here, but we don’t take so kindly to trainers! You’d best be a bounty hunter…”

I held out my counterfeit license with pride. It was so well crafted, nobody could tell the difference. “Everything seems to be in order…” he said. “What brings you to our humble little region, Mister… Kevin LeBlanc?”

“Well sir,” I said, “I’m from Kanto,” No lies so far… “And I was called over here to defend my friend Mike in his trial.” Yep, 100% true!

The soldier nodded. “The city hall is right over there…” he said, pointing towards it, “I hear the king is monitoring the trial today, so good luck. I’ll escort you there, if you want. It’s the least I can do.”

I smiled. I liked this soldier. He was a good man, and clearly aware of the king’s cruel policies. “Tynar won’t even know what hit ‘em…” I said, “At least that’s what he calls himself nowadays. I have no idea what his real name is.”

We walked to the city hall and stood outside the main courtroom. I couldn’t hear much, but I did catch “I, Tynar the Just do hereby find you guilty of sedition and terrorism, and condemn you to die. Do you have anything to say before the sentence is carried out?"

I looked through the door. That was Mike alright, in all his chained-up-with-his-little-Ambipom glory. “Objection, your majesty!” I screamed, pointing my finger in his direction.

“WHO DARES INTERUPT ME?!” the king screamed.

The guards were ready to quite literally blow my head off, but the soldier I befriended earlier stepped in. “He is a Pokémon hunter with a law degree from Kanto here to defend his friend in this trial. His name is Kevin LeBlanc.”

I thanked the soldier and walked towards Mike. He recognized me instantly. “I sure am glad to see you.” he said gleefully. Mike was my legal guardian, and in charge of keeping me in check. Thankfully, he usually let me do my own thing, and continued to live with his wife on Biflora. He told me I was like the son he never had.

“The feeling’s mutual…” I whispered. I paced back and forth in front of him. “I assume a well-dressed man like you would have a job, correct?”

    “Yes…” he said.

    “And where do you live?”

    “I live on Biflora, sir.”

“Now correct me if I’m wrong, but there are many farmers on Biflora, right?”

    “It’s our main export, sir.”

“Now, I’d assume you work in this industry as well?”

    “Yes sir, I do.”

“Now, your majesty…” I said, turning to the king, “I believe the law states that Pokémon are allowed to be used for work purposes, so long as they do not set foot in the capital, correct?”

“Yes…” muttered the king, “But my guards found him with this… THING earlier this week! He was roaming the streets and carrying it around with him!”

“Now your majesty…” I said, “As a Pokémon hunter, I am quite familiar with Poké Balls, and know from firsthand experience that they will not escape unless their trainer orders them to.”

The king began to look nervous. “Are you in possession of Pokémon, sir?”

“I am.” I said. The courtroom gasped, and the guards raised their guns once more. “But I have a license.” They seemed to calm down a bit after that piece of near-useless information. “Sure, they don’t issue them here, but mine is from Kanto.” I showed it to him and he grimaced.

    “Alright, now what’s your point…”

“I am aware that my friend here owns a rather large farm on Biflora; one of the largest. Clearly, he would require the need of Pokémon as farmhands… or perhaps a hundred kids to help him.”

The courtroom laughed at this statement.

“So, if he is able to provide proof that he is in fact, a licensed farmer, would this really be a crime?”

The king simply sat in his chair, boiling with anger. Most trials that he oversaw didn’t have any attorneys involved, but should one feel up to the task; he had no authority to say otherwise. He paused, and then sighed. “If the defendant provides proof that he is, in fact, a farmer, I shall allow him to live.”

Suddenly, Mike’s wife Susan sprang up. “Here! I have his license right here!” she said. She ran to the king and kneeled. “Your majesty…” she said, backing away as she laid it in his lap. He read it. “This license… IS A FAKE!! All THREE of you shall be sentenced to death! Clearly this man is a member of Team Knighthawk!”

The crowd gasped. Me and Susan looked at each other in disbelief. We both knew it was real, and we had proof! The king wasn’t going to listen to reason. He wanted us all dead. She began to sob as I stepped back. I took out two Poké Balls from pockets. “Well it’s a shame you think so…” I said, removing my goggles and putting on my glasses. “Because if my dad was still here, he’d want you to stop this madness…” I dropped the balls on the ground. Raiguy and Zebstrika emerged from them. Immediately, Raiguy cast Light Screen to protect us from bullets. It wouldn’t hold for long, so we had to act fast. I looked around for something that could help us… wait, it wasn’t something… but someone. “Sorry about this, m’lady, but if he’s gonna treat my family like garbage, I’ll do the same to his…” I said.

Swiftly and elegantly, I grabbed Princess Lyanna around the neck and drew my sword. With a blade pointed at her neck, the gunfire from the soldiers stopped. I wanted to make it apparent that I wasn’t above taking hostages to prove my point. Through all the commotion, I realized something. Mike and Susan were wounded. The worst part was I couldn't do anything to save them. Holding back tears, I screamed.

“Knock down that wall with Brick Break!”

Raiguy slugged the wall with all his might. They dared not shoot at me or Zebstrika with the princess in hand, and Raiguy was protected by Lightscreen. I forced the girl onto Zebstrika’s back, and we ran out the hole in the wall. “Sorry king, but it looks like your princess is in another castle!!” I screamed, giving all the high-class nobles the finger.

I looked back to make sure Raiguy was still following us. He was. He was holding my pistol and kept it pointed at Lyanna. He shot any soldier who dared to pursue us. When he ran out of ammo, he simply took my rifle, set it to semi-automatic, and blew away countless soldiers, coming at us from all directions. Unlike me, Raiguy wasn't above killing a man. Zebstrika was using Agility. Unless someone else intervened, we were in the clear.

"I'll explain everything when we get back to base..."

Lyanna fought to hold back the terror she felt as was kidnapped by the fearsome Pokemon Trainer; despite being nearly overwhelmed with fear, she knew that screaming and crying would only serve to encourage the rogue and embaress her father. Not to mention that, try as she might, she couldn't help but notice that she was being whisked away on horseback - although this was hardly the way that she had imagined it.

She shut her eyes tightly to block out the swaying cityscape that they ran through, the odd motion of the ride was turning her stomach and she was fairly certain that if this went on much longer she wouldn't be able to hold her breakfast down.

((sorry it's such a short post - my brain is a little addled at the moment, I may expand this later but feel free to carry on and I'll go along with it))

We kept accelerating, going faster and faster. The princess wasn’t looking too good, but I needed to get away. We were a mere 100 yards away from the shore I had originally landed on. I looked behind me. It seemed we had lost the soldiers. They decided that the casualties were not worth it, and that they’d come and capture me at the base. I knew what I had to do. “Alright, we lost ‘em.”

The black and yellow Pokémon came to a complete stop, gasping for air. “Okay… you can go. I just needed you to help me get away.” I said, helping Lyanna off Zebstrika. Raiguy wasn’t convinced, and continued to point his rifle towards the trees in case someone spotted us. “Sorry about this… the king and I have a few... problems. Anyways, you’re free to go. If anyone asks, my Pokémon turned on me, murdered me, then swam away to feed on my corpse.”

I thought about what I’d just said. “… You can just… un-hear that.”

I threw out my Poké Ball once again, glancing at the unconscious sniper from earlier. Carracosta landed in the water, splashing me. “Well, I’ll be off, princess.” I said. I mounted my Pokémon, and slowly departed. I looked back and Lyanna. She looks familiar… I thought.

Lyanna stood on the shore where she'd been left, still quiverring with fear, until she was sure the Pokemon Trainer was out of sight. She then promptly turned and threw up into the nearest bush before collapsing onto her knees and letting out a few brief sobs; she wasn't sure if it was left-over terror or relief that caused her outburst.

After a few minutes of indulging her emotions, Lyanna rolled onto her back and fought to regain some composure; much as she would like to give herself some more time, she knew that she was not out of danger yet. Even though this particular Trainer had let her go, that did not mean that other rebels and subversives weren't lurking in the area, not to mention the rare few wild Pokemon that had yet to be exterminated. Unfortunately she had no idea how to get back to Father's house, let alone how to get there safely; she had a vague idea that it lay to the west (perhaps?), but nothing more certain than that. The guard who lay nearby would be no help - it would probably be a few hours before he awoke and his communicator was missing - and she saw no sense in remaining here until someone came to find her. Despite still feeling weak from her terrifying ride, Lyanna resolved to being the arduous task of walking home, setting off into the trees.

((So... We don't need to be approved, or we do, or what?))

    Name: Cole Jacobson
    Gender: Male
    Age: 17
Description: Cole is slightly tall for his age, enough so that he gives off a slightly commanding aura. He is extremely thin, with no trace of fat anywhere on his body. You could literally count his ribs through his skin, and nearly every bone of his is visible from outside. No matter how much Cole eats, he never seems to put on much more weight or get any fatter. Believe me, he's tried. Cole has a slightly pale complexion that gets even paler when he's afraid. Because of Cole's thinness, his face appears slightly bony and prominent.

Cole has somewhat short dark brown hair. In the winter his hair appears black, although if you look closely you can see that it is still just an extremely dark brown. Cole's hair grows relatively fast in the front, so his eyes are normally covered a little by his hair. Cole does nothing to keep his hair out of his eyes, although as a small child he used to. Cole stopped once he realized how idiotic it looked to have his entire forehead exposed.

Cole has pure brown eyes that are several shades lighter than his hair. It's rumored that a single glare from Cole's eyes can quiet a whole room, although he tries his best to dispel these rumors. He's never said that it isn't true, though. Cole's eyes also almost radiate intelligence, and no one could ever guess how short-sighted he is. Cole normally wears contacts, although from time to time you might see him wearing glasses or neither.

And now, onto Cole's clothing. His attire is rather plain. It's normally just a plain white or red T-shirt and slightly faded jeans that have seen a lot of use. He wears a silver and gold digital wristwatch on his left wrist and an Xtransceiver on his right. Cole also has black running shoes on his feet and wears plain white socks, as well as a backpack containing his laptop on his back.
Personality: Cole has a more... interesting personality than most, as you'll see.
Cole considers himself a bit of a loner, although he has met plenty of people more introverted than himself. He prefers the company of a book or his laptop to the company of a large group of people, and sometimes gets pretty short-tempered when in the middle of a large crowd, so be careful if you see him in public. Cole also has a bit of a silver tongue, and can manipulate people with words. However, this silver tongue turns to lead when Cole is afraid and acid when he's angry, giving the impression of three different personalities.

First, there's cunning, manipulative Cole Jacobson, modest and slightly charming, as well as mysterious. He generally stays away from crowds and stays calm in even the most dangerous situations. He's a good leader and pretty strategic for someone of his age, and can inspire confidence in those around him.

Second, there's quiet, quick-to-flee Cole. He generally tries to stay clear of any awkward situation and diverts attention from himself in any way possible, whether it's changing the subject or rushing into a different room for a few minutes. Because of this, Cole is considered slightly shady, always avoiding conversations when possible. Even when he has to talk, Cole tends to leave the actual talking to someone else, although he listens attentively.

Finally, there's bold, quick-tempered Cole. He gets carried away in conversations, which generally makes chitchat deteriorate slowly into an argument. This personality slightly enjoys conflict, and will listen in and laugh softly at any argument. This version of Cole is the rarest, as he tries to keep out of arguments of any kind.

Cole is mortally afraid of heights, although sometimes this fear drives him to explore the highest areas possible. Contradictory, I know. He is very noble, and will do anything to resolve most fights between two people quickly.
Small Backstory: Cole grew up in Aeria, on the volcanic island of Embria. His family was rather rich, and owned a private villa up near the top of the volcano. Eventually Cole's family's regular house was sold and they moved into the villa completely. It didn't make much of a difference, as they already spent nearly the entire year every year there.

Cole's father was part of the Nighthawks, although he was completely open to his family about it. Cole's father trained Pokemon inside the volcano. In fact, his only non-fire type Pokemon was a Zoroark that had been his father's first Pokemon.

Then a volcanic eruption happened while Cole's father was in the volcano training. Cole's family suspected that the government hadn't told them about it on purpose, as Cole's father died in the volcano that day. Only Zoroark's baby Zorua survived, and Cole began to train it.

Six years went by. Cole was the leader of several revolts against the government, always managing to escape before he was captured. Cole tried a prison break on the island of Hawkwind and was finally captured by the police.
    Other?: N/A.

Sirens wailed as hundreds of police cars pulled up to the jail on the center of the island. A wall had been demolished on the west side during the night, and one of the most dangerous Trainers had escaped. There were no ways off the island, and people assumed that the Trainer was still somewhere on the island.

    ---

Cole Jacobson sat in the front seat of the police car. He had blackened the windows so that no one could see inside, which was a good thing, as Cole was surrounded by police cars.

Cole's Zoroark, Illusion, sat in the passenger seat, using his powers to make Cole and himself look like regular police officers.

The plan was foolproof. It had to be. Cole had spent a year devising and preparing for the escapade, and had planned for every possibility.

"You ready?" Cole asked Illusion, who nodded. "Then let's do this, shall we?" Cole picked up a radio and began speaking. "We've got a visual of the Trainer traveling by boat in the direction of Embria. All units needed. Out."

Immediately the police cars pulled away from the jail and headed for the coast. Cole and Illusion, meanwhile, drove in the direction of a nearby warehouse. It was build like a fortress, with no windows and reinforced walls that a herd of angry Rhydon couldn't break down. The door had five locks, two of which needed different 8-number passcodes.

Cole pulled up in front of the warehouse, disabling the locks one by one. Illusion used his ability to change the police car into empty space, and Cole finally unlocked the door. They both walked in, Cole closing and locking the door behind them.

OOC: Nope, no approval needed :D

I was speeding back towards Hawkwind on Carracosta. I could barely see the island, but I heard sirens. Was there some kind of investigation going on? I decided I’d go to the far side of the island to avoid any unnecessary attention from the police. When I got to the far side of the island, I made my way onto the shore and returned Carracosta to his Poké Ball. I slowly approached the warehouse. Blaizken and Electivire were still guarding the place.

“Has anyone come by?” I asked.

They nodded. Knowing that they wouldn’t let in anyone who wasn’t a rebel, I unlocked the door as usual and went inside. I noticed a dark silhouette in front of me, and shined my flashlight on it.

“I assume you’re with Team Nighthawk?” I said, squinting my eyes, “Finally broke out, eh? This might be a shock to you, but most of the team members are either dead or in jail. Nice to know there’s at least one team member left. I'm Daniel. The leader of Team Nighthawk was my dad. What's your name?”

"Cole. My father worked pretty high-up in Team Nighthawk. He died a long while back. And yes, I just broke out of jail."

Cole walked a few steps forward and continued on. "It doesn't surprise me that most people are dead or in jail by now. It's been years and we still haven't made much real progress, as you can see if you look, well, anywhere."

“Well…” I said, “We have made a little progress.”

Raiguy followed me in and closed the door behind him. The rifle was still on his back. He shot out a bolt of lightning in the direction of the ceiling. It hit a power box, triggering the lights. I wondered why he didn’t just use the switch.

“We stole a few guns from one of the soldiers, and his security clearance card.” I set my backpack down on the ground and handed Cole my pistol. “What we need more than anything right now is some new recruits.”
