Bring all the chat about the Mission in here, the only posters in the actual thread should be those who are participating in it. Otherwise, you know what this is for :)

Is the movement max speed or base speed based?

So does that mean that outsiders can post in here as well?

I would assume that interested parties, or parties with a vested interest, are welcome to post; it's probably to warn off the "I HAET RPS YOU GUSYE ARE NUBS" kind of stuff. I know that I don't mind having other people watch my progress, especially in something like this trial mission where we need the transparency to judge the effectiveness.

To bring this back to an on-topic post, when it comes down to what we trainers are allowed to do on our initiative counts, I'm assuming we basically move around, use items, and call commands to the Pokemon and other trainers, right?

Following standard URPG protocol, all Pokemon have "perfect stats". So movement is determined by max Speed.

Yeah, sure, this is for everyone. Mission Party members, other Staff, and just randoms who are interested in. Basically, this is here for people to use so the actual thread doesn't get cluttered. But long story short, yes, this is for everyone.

If by your "initiative count" you mean your place on the movement order, I should probably have explained that a little better. A Trainer's stats are: 350HP, 0 ATK, 300DEF, 0 SATK, 300SDEF, 0 SPD, and a Movement Range of 3. The only things Trainers can do are move, use items, and occasionally interact in special, Encounter-specific ways such as looking for an item in a sparkle patch or activating a switch. There isn't really a calling orders mechanism, it's just assumed that your commands take so little time it is negligible.

So, for this Encounter the only real point to your Trainers is to heal your Pokemon if they get too hurt. Also, if your Trainer is KOed, then you and your Pokemon leave the Encounter.

No, we decided that jumping and height movement would get too complicated too fast and there wouldn't be enough benefit to make it work. So once you're on a ramp you either go up or down it, you cannot jump off to either side.

2 questions, one of them being more likely to come up shortly. Can we move through allies' squares? For example, my poor Nincada only has move of 1 square, so it'll be able to get onto the ramp. If it does, can Jack or Magneton move through that square to get farther ahead?

Second question, I wanted to start doing basic battles to get my Aron evolved. If I got him 5 battles, and was going to evolve him, can I have him evolve to Lairon in the RP as well, or should I presume that it happens prior to those other battles and leave it Aron?

Firstly, kanga is kinda right. Nincada's Speed is 179. 179 divided by 50 is 3.58, which rounds down to three. Your Nincada's movement range is three squares, not one. Regarding your actual questions, though, yes allied units can move through each other, but they can't stop on the same square. So your Nincada could pass through Gliscorman's Magneton, but it couldn't pass through one of the Poochyena.

Regarding your second question, I think the best way to manage this is to take the National Park stance. What they do with runs is you use your Pokemon at the time they were when you signed up for the run. So, if you're halfway through a Park visit, and your Pokemon evolves or is taught a new move or whatever, it happens as normal in the URPG at large but does not affect the Mission you are in. Long story short, feel free to evo your Aron, but it won't evolve it in the Mission.

Lastly, kanga, please post your move asap.

kanga, your Skorupi has a Movement Range of 4, not 5 (floor (229 / 50) = 4). Fix your move, please.

How about diagonal moves? Are we allowed to do that? And if so, can we do that stepping off a ramp?

Secondly, if we're able to move and attack, can we double move instead, or 'prepare an action' to go off on a certain trigger? For example, could Nincada move, and then prepare to X-Scissor any of the Poochyena that move adjacent to it, so that it attacks when they go by?

No, Diagonal moves are not allowed.

No, a unit cannot double move.

No, you cannot set up triggers, although that isn't a bad idea. My only concern is it could get super complicated. As of now, triggers haven't been discussed/implemented, so they can't be used.

We haven't seen chain in a while. Do you think we should just go ahead and move forward, since our Mons are going to be the next ones moving? Or should we give it another couple days, in case the man needs to move?

I think we should give him a little time. He hasn't updated his URPG stuff, let alone get onto BMG, at all for a week. I do think that we should wait.

Hey guys, sorry for being gone a while. Locust attacks, floods, and a sick grandma are all part of my wonderful little world right now. I'm back now, though, and we can roll again. My sincere apologies.

In related news, the dude does not move. He just kinda lays there and whines.

RL happens. It's cool. In unrelated notes, do we need to wait for your summary post after each of ours, or can we post right after the last person if we're next?

Haha, good to know that if I vanish off the face of the Earth a few people would notice xD

And yeah, I guess you guys can post immediately after each other as long as you're not skipping over the turns of any units I need to move as the DM.
