If you suggested modifying it why did you say it seemed over powered, especially in FFAs? That implies that you want it removed because what they can do, especially, but not limited to, in FFAs. :banghead:

If the move is good enough for the games why can't it be good enough for something like this. I've never seen Imprison banned in any game competitive battle I've been a part of and when you think about it that's what this battle system is. Competitive battling using forums over the internet rather than the games over the internet. Just because the medium is different doesn't mean moves should be drastically changed. Put more TMs on your pokemon. Chances are at least one of the TMs will be a move the person that uses Imprison doesn't have. Or, if you use Imprison that's more moves you cut people off from using.

Don't the regular rules of Imprison involve that if it is used in a double battle, the user can't use the moves either. I feel like if those rules were to be put in place on FFA's. If you use Imprison, you shouldn't be able to use the moves either. Or you could do the obvious thing and just put "Imprison Banned" in your rules.

Nope, AFAIK they can still use their moves when they use imprison. And in the games, you're limited to 4 moves, so if you have someone with protect, substitute, imprison, and safeguard, i could see a problem; but he's then completely unable to attack, and the opponent still has 2 Pokemon that can roflstomp him soon enough.

The problem is more that in this format, they know and can use all their moves, which leaves a much larger moveset that it can kill.

Lol, no. You can still use your moves after usuing Imprison, or else you'd be completely usless.

And no, the problem is there is no problem. It's a move that gets on peoples nerves, you just deal with it :/

most refs acknowledge it is overpowered in FFA's thats why many of them ban it as a rule.
