15th Anniversary Event Suggestions

I don't see how this is any different than just giving away extra money, besides that it has to be spent immediately.

 

It's a lot of extra money. I was against double wages for every battle, and giving away a TM that's worth more than the battle earnings is even bigger. Even replacing the income could be more than double. A 6v6 pays $2,000 so any TM worth $4,000 or more is equivalent to at least double the monetary payout.

2v2 - 2k TM, double
3v3 -3k TM, triple
4v4 -4k TM, almost triple
5v5 -5k TM, over triple
6v6 -6k TM, triple

I think that that's a bit excessive too (even though I suggested it!). Halving that makes anything less than 6v6 not really worthwhile unless you wanted to do some kinda coupon thing, which could be pretty cool. Maybe coupons could be given out alongside regular payment and then cashed in for TMs/DC Passes/Pokemon perhaps.

 

True, guess I didn't think about it like that. Kinda makes you think that battles should already be scaled so that bigger battles pay more....

Anyway, I was wondering... could there not be a "no-prize" in the raffle? Raffles do not happen that often that people really deserve to lose from them, at least in my opinion. I've always thought it was so cruel

 

Scaling battle pay is never as easy as it sounds, since we then have to consider gyms and E4 etc also.

I'd love to give a prize to every raffle entrant, but then we might as well just hold a giveaway and not make people spend money for a random prize. Not everybody wins a raffle. The only exception would be some sort of consolation prize for anybody who doesnt get a major prize.

 

ya but is that really that bad for a 15 year anniversary ? Like I think certain situations call for special treatment! Plus it just sucks for an awesome event to come around and then you pay to be involved and you literally get a big middle finger to the face and that's all.

On that note, I may be confusing what a raffle is. I was thinking it would be one of those roll the die and see what prize you get, but I'm now realizing that may not be what we're talking about. Anyway, birthday parties always have goodie bags, so this one should be no exception!!!

You'd be referring to something more like the Contest Wheel but with prizes that aren't related to the Contest section and therefore actually useful.

 

Yes. We should do one of those, if possible. If it's too much work to come up with a wheel I wouldn't mind coming up with one, that could be approved.

If I forgot to mention it, I'm planning on doing a Forum FFA for this. Mention me with special rule ideas if you like!

There'll also be some sort of Park thing--we were actually thinking a Wheel of Fortune for that too, only we're going to modify our usual holiday prizes a little bit and probably throw some Pokemon onto it too.

There's some other things in the works as well.

 

I'd suggest a special rule that'll balance it out for our hopefully large influx of new members, such as "All Pokémon are fully EM'd".
