Bee does have a point. People gain and drop gyms like candy. I am in favor of dojos but perhaps maybe when we can get more gyms that are filled and active although the majority are already. LET TRY AND NOT HAVE THESE PEOPLE HATE US!

Alright then, pick a gym and stick with it to help support that, cause you're a big culprit of getting, and dropping a gym. Don't just take one, and quickly drop it.

Putting brand new members up against the rest of URPG would be cruel. It's best to let them battle each other awhile before growing their wings and fighting full fledged URPGers. The Dojo League was a sort of tutorial to gyms, meant to introduce people to the concept and format. What it does is show people what it's like to have a lineup, manage challenges, and use a monotype team to the fullest capability. When the Dojo League is over, they already know how to do these things and will be ready to apply for gyms (and be a hell of a lot better off). So while it may not immediately address the gym problem we're currently facing, it will probably help out in the long run. I know that right now there are several of BMG's ex-senseis currently leading gyms, and doing a damn fine job.

I attempt to battle, not my fault if no one is around to do so.

*adds own name to the "never battle" list*

I see no problem in adding the Dojos, so long as they are closed down after a set amount of time like they were here. Like it was mentioned before, it gives the new players a tutorial on running their own Gym, as well as battling the seasoned people either here or at Pe2k (those that are still there at least). If it does offer a bit of a benefit and no drawbacks, why not?

I missed the start of the last expansion, did people literally apply for these dojos with like, 2 or 3 Pokémon?

Some did. Others had better lineups than some gym leaders.

Regarding PE2K: if memory serves correctly (which it may or may not, I'm not known for my powers of recall lol), URPG was already pretty much inactive there. The entire forums were stagnant as was the site itself, because Ryan was around so little to make regular updates and stuff. Finally he promoted Harry and Kenny to admin status so the site/forum wouldn't die completely, but even so the lag that plagues the forum is one major thing keeping people from being more active on PE2K. I'm all for doing things to try and get it more active, but the fact is if the forum is going to take 10 mins to load a page, people are going to be more active here.

The expansion isn't intended to be a temporary injection of activity, it's meant to encourage growth for not just us, but the forum(s) we expand to. It's one of the main reasons we decided on TPW; they'll get a major boost from the influx of members, which will make them bigger and attract more people, who will then check out the URPG. It can only help us both.

As for things that need to be addressed, there is still time to get things together. Perhaps people could contribute to a list of things we could try to work on before expanding? The more people working on it, the more things will be thought of.

Also, I'm totally fine w/ a discount in the Park like we did when we expanded here. I believe it was x number of purchases were half-off right? Like first three purchases? I also have an idea for a Park event where people can snag some free stuff. I would do it on the forum since a lot of people probably wouldn't have AIM at first to do it then. As for a Park event...I'm sure we can come up with something simple that will get people into the hang of RPing in the Park. And for people here who don't quite get it or aren't comfortable w/ anything, you can always talk to me (and I'm sure Park familiars and Elites would say the same) and I'll do my best to explain stuff. We really need more activity in the Park >_>.

For stories, does anyone like the idea of finding really good examples of each rank and putting them in a sticky so people can see what's expected when writing URPG stories?

Also we need to do more to sell Contests there. I'm sure ATF can cook up some epic event that will let people see how awesome Contests are and encourage them to remain active Coordinators.

EDIT: What does everything think of the idea of holding off our Spring Gift Station until after the expansion?

Also I'm all for using the Dojo League again. We know what not to do with it this time and really, people need that time to familiarize themselves with the whole thing of being a Gym Leader and stuff.

We do need more park activity, which is why I made a mention of something being done to promote it when expanding. I may not be an Elite, but I have used the park/rangered enough to understand it clearly, so I'd be more than willing to help in anyway needed over there when the time comes with the park, just let me know.

I could see holding off the gift station, that way everyone can get rid of their useless crap onto new members, and it'll actually be accepted by people since they're new.

I still support the idea of dojos. They really taught me how to battle, and actually use some sort of strategy. My one dojo master battle was a very good one, and when doing it it really showed me how much I managed to improve in a short amount of time. I remember when the dojos ended everyone who had one wanted a gym of the type, but next to no gym was open. Now though we can't manage to fill most of the gyms, so the dojo league could be a great way to help fill gyms in the longer run, this way newer members won't just go to grab a gym, and be thrashed by people who have experience/nicely EMed mons.

I don't know if this was suggested, but the committees that were used on PE2k before the expansion might be a good idea. Even though almost every URPGer here now has a title.

Nothing good will come from this.

We should have a day when we organise the Dojo Master from last year to come in and sign autographs and stuff. Or, let him help with the Dojo League.

In all seriousness, I'm excited for the expansion and think only good will come of it for both them and us. Hopefully, someone will do a large Forum FFA, without any special rules, to welcome them. When I first joined, I came joint last with a Cleffa, but it was still really interesting and fun to observe.
