    Water and Electric do neutral damage to Steel Mon, and most Steel types have another typing that makes normally SE or NVE moves do neutral damage. Scizor takes neutral damage from Rock moves. Metagross takes neutral damage from Fighting moves. So it's really not an issue. You won't go against Rock or Ice Gyms/Dojos since your Gym's type is strong against their's; your Gym won't face Fire or Ground Gyms, since those types are strong to your Gym's type. The typing of individual Pokemon within the Gym doesn't matter; a Normal Gym going against a Fire Gym might still have a good chance of winning because many Pokemon can get Fire, Fighting, and Ground moves.

    Wow I rambled >>. And I answered this already, but I'll make it more obvious: Yes, for the first round, no Gym/Dojo will face a Type it is weak to.

    Will Dojo's face Dojo's in the preliminary round and Gym's face Gym's, or is it random as long as neither type is supereffective against the other?

    It'll be 3vs3 or 4vs4 for the first couple rounds. And no, forum battles won't be allowed; I want this tournament to end in a timely manner. :dizzy:


    ST, you need to post what 8 Pokemon you'll be using for the tournament. Both of you need to send me your 5 mons for the first 3 rounds.

    Sign-ups are open for another week / will end earlier if every single gym signs up.
