Welcome to Pifhr. Pifhr is a world that is at constant war. You should have known that, though, because you are after all the President/Prime Minister/Dictator/King/Tzar/Vizier of one of Pifhr's many nations. As the leader of your nation, you must send your Generals (who represent an entire army), or Pokemon, into battle to fight for the survival of your nation. Alliances may be formed and broken, and some may feel back stabbed, but such is the way of a pigeon-eat-pigeon world.

There will be a total of 9 battles known as FFAs. The rules of the FFAs may vary, but the overall goal will always be to acquire as much points (degrees of control) as possible. The higher you place, the more points you get. For example, in a battle of 15 Pokemon, 1st place gets 15 points, while 2nd place gets 14, third place gets 13, and so on. Whoever has the most points after all 9 battles will be declared SUPREME OVERLORD OF PIFHR.

    Theaters
The rules and times of all battles will be announced 5 days or more before it actually occurs. If you don't show up, you just don't have any chance to score anything in that FFA. All pay will be increased by 1,000. The refs of each FFA may vary. These FFAs count as one of the two FFAs a ref can host every week.

    Accolades
    • SUPREME OVERLORD OF PIFHR (1st): any Demanding or lower Pokemon
    • Devious Diplomat of Pifhr (2nd): any Complex or lower Pokemon
    • Grand Generals of Pifhr (3rd and 4th): any Hard or lower Pokemon
    • The Chefs (5th and 6th): any Medium or lower Pokemon
    • Court Jester (16th): any Easiest or lower (Husnain) Pokemon [don't try to compete for this xD]

tl;dr: u play in FFAs and the higher u place = more points, all the points u have in the end determines what place u get

Frequently check this post for the latest updates!

IMPORTANT! If you participate in more than 6 FFAs out of 9, only your top 6 scores will count.

Since it's kind of more important, the guidelines for certain scenarios will be decided here before they actually happen if possible. Lower placing means you would get 4th instead of 3rd.
    • if a Pokemon uses a move that causes itself to faint 'at the same time' as another Pokemon, whether it be from recoil or Destiny Bond, the user of that move will get a lower placing
    • if a trainer does not send a move, his/her Pokemon will be KO'd at the end of the turn they did not send a move for, but still place lower then Pokemon KO'd that turn. so Pokemon using a move like Charge Beam on a non-moving Pokemon will still get to use its effects on that Pokemon, and some FFAs may reward you for KO-ing a Pokemon, so a Pokemon that is close to fainting can't just disappear at the beginning of a turn so no one can get the benefits of KO-ing it
    • you can't 'lock' moves or send in advance
    • you can't target Pokemon randomly, unless that's how the move works, like Outrage
    • someone can't take over your Pokemon for you

The weather will randomly start out as either Sunny or Rainy. Every turn the weather alternates. There will be a Kyogre and Groudon with Defense+2 and Special Defense+2 on the field. If one is KOd, then the other's weather will remain for all turns. KO-ing one of these Pokemon gives the Pokemon +2 in all stats (except evasion). If both of these Pokemon are KO'd, the weather of the second one to be KO'd will still remain. All moves and abilities that alter or negate the weather will not work in this FFA.

Pokemon will be ordered by speed at the beginning of the FFA. Pokemon with the same speed will be randomly ordered at the begining. The Pokemon on the top of the list will be considered the fastest, and then the next one will be the next fastest, and so on. All changes to a Pokemon's speed will be ignored. Trick Room will fail. All moves that change the level of a stat change it as half as much as usual. If you have a decimal stat boost, it counts as though it is rounded down (towards 0). So +0.5 Atk counts as +0, and +1.5 Atk counts as 1. -0.5 Def counts as +0 Def. Simple doubles these values before being rounded.

There are three zones: A, B, and C. You decide which zone you want to start at.

Physical attacks do x1.3 as much damage going from A to B, B to C, or C to A.

Special attacks do x1.3 as much damage going from A to C, B to A, and C to A.

Attacking another Pokemon in the same zone has no increased damage through this rule.

You can switch what zone you are in by sending it with your move. Switching zones happens at the end of the turn.

You can lay Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes in any zone you want. Their effects will activate on a Pokemon when someone switches into that zone. All attacks that involve switching or making the opponent switch do not do anything except damage (or nothing) for simplicity. Switching zones does not remove any effects on your Pokemon.

You can also send a buzzword. You can not send a buzzword and switch zones in the same turn. The buzzword must be the name of a Pokemon item. If 3 or more people are in the same zone, and they send the same buzzword, then each person gets +0.5 stat boost to distribute for each person that participated. These stat boosts are hidden. However, a person in the same zone may interupt a group's attempt at using a buzzword simply by sending a different buzzword. If he/she is the only person interupting, that person snatches all of their stat boosts. Again, these stat boosts are hidden. You can only buzzword with people in the same zone, and you can only interupt people in the same zone.

If you are awarded stat boosts, you will be notified. You must decide how you want to apply them before the next turn stats. Psych Up does not copy hidden stat boosts. You can not increase evasion with these stat boosts.

    Examples:

5 people in zone A send the buzzword Full Restore. They each get +2.5 stat boosts.

5 people in zone A send the buzzword Full Restore. 1 other person in zone A sends Great Ball. That 1 person gets +12.5 stat boosts.

5 people in zone A send the buzzword Full Restore. 1 other perosn in zone A sends Great Ball. 1 other person sends Super Rod. Nobody gets any stat boosts.

5 people in zone A send the buzzword Full Restore. 3 people in zone A send Great Ball. Nobody gets any stat boosts.

This looks really interesting, Pidge! However, maybe 7PM is a little too early for those that are in GMT+1 and later (though there aren't that many people who live in that timezone, I'm just saying.)

Doubt I'll make more than 3 of these FFAs @[email protected]

Would any refs consider doing these earlier than 7 pm EST to accomodate for us Europeans? Even 5 pm or so would probably give a better turnout.

Unlikely that I will be able to do it. It's 4 on the 19th in my timezone and I'm not on AIM for reasons pertaining to nonownership of the laptop variety. DX

yeah i agree with everybody else you should make them more accessible for Europeans or make others that are accessible to us but harder to get to for Americans.

edit: or at least do them on Saturdays so people can wake up earlier/go to bed later.

I made a poll and am considering you can only enter 7 out of the 9 FFAs for this. Therefore, someone who is able to make all of them doesn't have an advantage against someone who can't.

Hey I'll be willing to take the morning spots on the weekends ie 9am GMT-5 since that is the middle of the day for me, as long as people actually get up / stay up to be there so it is reasonably big if you want more than one ref to do the ffas. By this I mean I would be willing to ref :p

Well, out of those that are leading as I type this (Saturday and/or Sunday 12:00 PM (-5 GMT) and Saturday and/or Sunday 9:00 PM (-5 GMT), both with 5 votes), I would prefer the second one. Why? 'Cause I'm in GMT+8, so 12 PM would be midnight for me -- can't stay up until that time lol.

Anyways, I'm available for five of them.
