Duel Peninsula! Week One: Scurvy matey

WEEK #1 - EVERYONE ON THE ISLAND HAS SCURVY AND THERE ARE NO MORE ORANGES


All battles will be done with these rules:

4v4 and up

Payments are $500 extra for all parties

To refs: please log these battles in the log thread as soon as possible as they may be needed for proof of challenges.


Wagers:

The person that is challenged (who will now be referred to as the target) decides how many Star Chips (which will now be referred to as SC from now on) will be wagered right after the rules are stated
You must wager a whole number of SC (you can't wager 55.4325 SC)
The minimum amount that can be wagered is 25% of the challenger's amount of SC
The maximum amount that can be wagered is 50% of the challenger's amount of SC
Round down to the nearest whole number if the minimum is not whole and round up if the same applies to the maximum
If the minimum amount is greater than the amount the target has, he/she must wager all of his/her SC instead
For the purpose of finding minimum/maximum wagers, If you must leave during a battle and stats are saved, the star chips wagered are "held" and are not counted in either combatant's star chip total.
If you have 0 SC, you are out of the tournament

Reminder:

-A person may only battle another person once in the tournament week
-Avoiding or denying challenges an unreasonable amount will result in SC deduction
-If you have already battled three times during the day (a new day starts at the time this post was made), you can refuse a challenge if you provide proof you battled three times to your challenger through battle logs

Whimsicott, Slowbro, Mamoswine, Lopunny-M v Metagross, Drapion, Yanmega, Serperior

Battle started by Whimsi paring Yanmega, who got fully pared in the turn Mamoswine used Stone Edge which critted to send it to oblivion.
Serperior followed, and then a bit of a back and forth happened.
Until Serperior managed to kill Lopunny mega.
After that it was a back and forth and anyone's game until Smore got the upper hand.
Killing Drapion and Serperior in quick succession.
Mamoswine got Metagross-M wounded the turn of the mega evolution and Slowbro finished it up.

Diggersby set up and Seppe couldn't quite seed stall him in time before he bulldozed his way to victory for HP!

Alakazam, Mawile, Sableye, Espeon v Espeon, Dragonite, Gengar, Electivire

Dark made some mistakes like forgetting Gengar-M is slower than Alakazam the turn of mega evolution,
Dragonite hurt a lot of things, a lot though. Mawile-Mega came to rescue though and nabbed the win.

Raticate, Luxray, Ampharos, Wailord v Swoobat, Crobat, Mr Mime, Drifblim

Truly had a good type matchup so despite not having any items this battle was pretty close. It came right down to the wire, but Felly made a choice prediction that helped. Although, Truly might've been able to win if he'd just used a different move at the end of the game.

Duel Peninsula. DR got greedy and waited for Seppe to trigger his Weakness Policy instead of sweeping with the boosts he had already. Togekiss was able to take advantage of this with a priority KO, and then Tentacruel made some errors too which allowed Seppe to win.

Both players made several good predictions, but an early misplay by Smores lost Lopunny and struggled to deal damage to Jolteon. Accelgor held the match for a long time until Metagross was able to take it down.

Duel Peninsula. I came in roughly half-way for Monbrey. Whimsi stalled with Sub Seeds and finished off Wailord with some Grass STAB SE.

PrinceVultan: Scolipede, Chandelure, Altaria, Roserade

Stealth Rock really hurt Vultan in this match. Meta and Scoli set up for a few turns, Scoli Baton Passed its speed to Chandelure who easily dispatched Metagross. Choice Band Talonflame caught PV offguard though, taking down both Chandelure and Altaria before self-KOing due to recoil. Galvantula took out what was left of Scolipede, and Roserade was no match for Alakazam.

It started slow, with only Raticate's death really happening in the first few turns, then things started speeding up. Truly improved through the battle, but Seppe's mons were just too fresh to be dealt with.

Pretty good match to ref, good calls and predictions made by both sides. An unlucky Par roll was a pretty significant setback for PV, costing him the KO on Kecleon. Would have been a really close match otherwise, but Syn stayed ahead from there and won.
