Duel Peninsula! Quarter Finals: Drooling Monsters?

Woo! Still posting stuff and no one has told me to stop yet, so here I go again!

Alright we got our final duelists to come up to the mansion or whatever and start playing for realzies! Remember, you're battling for your freedom of the Peninsula! If you win you can escape this dreary, lonely card game no one plays anymore, or whatever we're doing! So now it's battles to the deaths! No KO's; that was for the wimps who weren't strong enough to weasel their way into the top 8! Woo, top 8! Top 8 so gr8, u cant deb8, f8 gave y'all no h8, m8.

But for real, thanks for all those who participated (or in a couple people's cases, signed up (lul) ) and for those great eight who will continue in the ladder, good luck! It's nice to see some newer people stepping up to potentially place in this tourny (/no bias). Now the next part of the tourny is the Quarterfinals! Which will be set as so:

QF1: 1v4
QF2: 2v3
QF3: 5v8
QF4: 6v7 ​

You have a week from now to get these battles done. Please do them; I don't know what a Round Robin is, but I don't want to have to do one! If this means setting a time and date that may be inconvenient for you, tough. I really don't care. If you don't get your battles done in time, that's on you, not me, nor anyone else. If you cannot get a hold of your opponent, or your opponent is being a giant jerk or something, message me as soon as you deem it an issue. Do NOT wait until Tuesday the 7th at 10PM to tell me you have a problem- at that time I will know you have a problem anyway and will have already planned the tourny without you. I think I've said this before, but, I don't like holding hands. You're all adults. To be honest, I don't see any of you having issues 'cause your all experienced and active members; that's how you got here in the first place. Just wanted to say that just in case. So anyway, tough love done, moving on.

After the Quarterfinals we will have the Semifinals! Where the winners of QF1 and QF2 will battle in SF1 and the winners of QF3 and QF4 will battle in SF2. Then we will have finals where the winners of SF1 and SF2 will battle for 1st place and 2nd place and the losers of SF1 and SF2 will battle for 3rd and 4th.

As a reminder, here are the prizes you all can possible win!

4th: Medium or lower Pokemon
3rd: Hard or lower Pokemon
2nd: Complex or lower Pokemon
1st: Demanding or lower Pokemon + escape from the Duel Peninsula​

Last things: Thanks against for those not continuing or those who've already been kicked out for a while, without you all these top 8 wouldn't be here! Good luck to the top 8! I'm hoping for some real good battles; don't disappoint! And if any of you have any problems, please contact me. Round Robin is, iirc, where everybody battles a couple of times, no elimination, and then you tally up the wins at the end.

It's more battles than single-elimination for sure, so it's probably better just to do it this way.

My bad for not telling you this before, but since this is finals/bracket you should clearly state battle size, not 4v4 and up.

And I'm pretty sure Seppe only has 5 Pokemon lol

CommBA lost because of too much overdrthinking, and Liam got lucky with a few rolls. Overall, though, Liam managed to employ some nice strategy to get around Comm's powerful mons.

Taunt really really really screwed over Seppe on a bunch of turns. There really wasn't much he could do offensively without the opportunity to set up or cripple smores' team, so he ended up forfeiting.

So here are some quotes from both sides in private IMs to me during a single turn of this match:

Basically this was a good summary for the entire match. The whole thing centered around predictions, but for whatever reason Monbrey's predictions always seemed off, and things just rolled in Swifty's favor. Well fought by both sides.
