The sound of hooves was muffled by the dirt as Ayame entered the battle arena. She sat onto of her cream colored Ponyta, Cobalt. Hopping down onto the ground, Ayame grinned and pointed her arm out toward the arena.
"Let's go Cobalt!"

Ross entered the arena with his Zubat, Tabuz. He had seen Ayame's entrance with her Ponyta, and felt like his own was more than a bit unimpressive in comparison.

"Ready, Tabuz?" the Zubat chirped, giving his OK to start the battle. "Well then, let's start out with a Confuse Ray! Go, Tabuz!"

Ayame commanded. Cobalt ran and with one bound, flew high into the air.

'oh, no,' Ross thinks, seeing the Ponyta plummeting toward Tabuz. "Tabuz, try to dodge and then use Confuse Ray again!" he calls to his pokemon.
