As mentioned, I won't be around much at all for the next week, but hey, oh well.

Harold Landy walked onto the stadium floor. The crowd was packed, full of his and his opponent's supporters. He caught sight of a few of his greatest fans, Maxie, telling everyone about his Weavile AGAIN, Monbrey moping around and shooting the odd noob and Morru, floating in and out like a cloud, never quite staying long enough to be challenged to a battle. Opposite him stood his opponent. Pathetic, weedy, ready to be crushed.

 

As I stood up on the referee platform, eyeing the contestants, Beans had some fight on him but I doubt he'd surpass Winter's level. This would most likely be quick and swift, but then again, underdogs have a tendency to win every so often.

I then pressed the RNG button to see which would make the first move, Beans or Vines. It gave me 51. Beans was to send first.

 

He pulled out a capsule from his pocket. He knew which opener he wanted, the one he always used. He threw the Poké Ball in the air and it released the Infernape. On its back was strapped a shard of ancient pottery, a Fist Plate.
"Go, Infernape, show them your mettle!" Infernape was strong, with his Blaze ability, and could take whatever was coming.

 

Winter stood across the arena floor with a thoughtful look on her face. "Ah, so that how it is."

Thinking for a moment, she started when something draped across her shoulders from behind. Thin strands of pale, white hair flopped over her shoulder, and a fluttering of wings alerted her to one of her least favorite people. "Hello, spirit," she greeted flatly.

The dragon-lady just giggled, hugging Winter and leaning more of her weight on the woman than necessary. The spirit of her referee dice was strange, if not devious. It was a good thing the demon wasn't reffing.

"Use this one," she said, leaning in to whisper in Winter's ear.

Winter sighed and pulled a Pokeball out of her vest. "As much as I want to disagree with you on principle, you do have a point. Go, Haxbat!"

A massive purple bat Pokemon emerged in a burst of light, calling out sharply as he caught sight of the Infernape on the foe's side of the field. He swooped down to be patted by Winter.

She said, "Better not mess around, so use an Acrobatics. Oh, and take this." The girl placed a near-crystaline gem in the bat's mouth, knowing it would help power up his attack. "Now go!"

He looked in dread at the Crobat flying flawlessly towards Infernape. The attack would surely would take out my Pokémon out in one hit.

"Infernape, get out of there!!" He shouted, withdrawing the Fire-type, pulling another Poké Ball out.

"Come on Metagross, let's take them out!!"

So, as both Pokemon got on the field, I got prepared to observe, but no sooner than the Infernape was on the battlefield it was quickly drawn back in favor of a huge mechanic Pokemon - four limbs pounding the ground.

The bat did a series of sommersaults and aerial things and slammed into Metagross at full speed, its item, consumed.

I then announced the health of their Pokemon and awaited the next turn.

I looked at the battlefield. Things looked slightly better now, I had the type advantage, and Metagross could easily defend himself. For now, however, I had to improve my position.
"Metagross, let's get your speed up, use Agility!" I commanded.

 

"Not so fast!" Winter called, echoed by the dice spirit calling at the same time. She even stepped to the side to point, her white hair, dragon wings, and tatters of her dress failing out with a burst of demonic wind.

Winter shook her head but couldn't repress her smile. "Quick, Haxbat, use Taunt! Shut that Metagross down!"

"Yeah, crush them all!" the dice spirit called, only grinning when Winter gave her a flat look. The dragon-lady shrugged. "What? I gotta have my fun too."

In a flash of purple, Crobat was by Metagross' ear - well, where it would hear, I think - whispering things, but by the look of it not things Metagross liked very much. In its anger it couldn't do the rearrangement needed to raise his speed.

The dragon-lady giggled as she leaned on Winter's shoulder, loving the frustration Metagross had just acquired.

"Do you have to hang?" Winter asked, rolling her shoulder a little. It was going to fall asleep

The dice spirit pouted. "You're the only person I get to spend time with when I'm not causing tears on the battlefield, you know."

"Yeah," Winter said with a flat look, "I know."

Then she turned to the battle. "Haxbat, time to get out of there! Make a U-turn back here!"

He sighed, the battle was going to get rather frustrating at this rate. He knew all too well that the acrobat was much faster than his Metagross and there was nothing that he could do to hit it beforehand.
"Okay then Metagross, use Bullet Punch on whatever follows this dastardly beast!!"

Metagross glowed and in a flash of light hit Crobat, who proceeded to hit Metagross and get the hell out of there.

The Metagross lashed out with a blinding steel fist, but Haxbat shrugged it off mostly. He suddenly flew upward then dipped sharply into a dive, smacking the Metagross on the face and using it as a springboard. With a burst of speed, the Crobat zoomed back toward Winter, melting into the beam of red light from his Pokeball and disappearing into the device. Now, who to send out next?

Winter had a lot of Pokemon she could send out, ones she hadn't used in a long time. The dice spirit had her arms crossed, not offering input for once. The dragon lady tapped her long-nailed fingers against her arm, looking at the Trainer expectantly with deep azure pools. Her feathery, white hair rustled with a breeze she hadn't noticed.

That gave her an idea. She had a Pokemon with white hair and blue eyes. Nodding, she pulled out another ball and let it fall to the ground. "Go, Volcarona!"

In a burst of light, a fiery moth with six bright red-orange wings fluttered in the air, causing sparks of heat to fly off her. A mane of shaggy white hair covered her body. She did a twirl in greeting and then focused on where they were, hovering closer to the Metagross. Now they just had to see what their foe would do next.

Sorry, my fault, been in Greece for 10 so not been very active

I looked out over the battlefield, things didn't seem to be going my way, with my opponent's Pokémon almost impervious to being hit while my own were being sapped of their energy as their moves went to waste. Now I was at about the worst type advantage that I could be at and if I changed I'd be at an even greater disadvantage. However, out here Metagross would almost certainly lose, I would have to change.

"Get out of there Metagross!" I commanded, switching out for my Greninja.

The dragon lady pointed as the other Trainer reached for another Pokeball. "There's going to be a switch," she said.

Winter nodded. "Right. Volcarona, use U-turn and get out of there!"

The fiery moth quivered in anticipation to move, and the woman reached for another ball on her belt.

"Who are you sending out next?" the dragon lady asked.

"Accelgor."

(for speed purposes, since he can't switch moves up anyway: Volcarona, use U-turn to Accelgor M Hydration.)

Haha who's the lucky man? Also I'm out again, so posts may be rare.

I flinched as Greninja took a metric tonne of damage. I had to do something to mitigate the harm my Pokémon would take.

"Use Shadow Sneak!" I commanded, at least Greninja's Protean would quarter the damage in comparison.
