I tested it on PO after Neon challenged my call and you're still locked into EQ after Protect. I think what upokecenter was referring to was that if it was prevented by like Taunt or something. Reversing the turns accordingly

For clarification, Protect doesn't stop a move from taking place. It solely protects the user from certain effects and all damage (barring feint).

So again, I send Agility.

 

I know what it says, but some threads I read said that as of Gen IV, Protect let you switch up moves with a Choice Item if you weren't already locked into one. It could be that you are locked in, but PO is not always accurate since it is not Game Freak made, so before I send I want to check on the actual cartridge game to make sure, if just for curiosity sake.
