The Pokemon Ultra RPG has undergone many changes over the years. Founded before the turn of the century, this community began with only a few dedicated trainers and a dream to be the very best there ever was.

We have come a long way since then. No longer do we reside as one of many Yahoo Groups but as a core RPG settled upon three amazing Pokemon communities. We have grown from five members to ten, to fifty, to one hundred and beyond. Our name is known across the fandom.

We started out with two main sections: Battles, our core focus, and Stories, the only way to catch Pokemon. Since then, we’ve expanded further, opening the National Park for exploration and rolpelaying. We created a Contests section to open up new avenues of gameplay. We have gone beyond what our founders envisioned.

And this week, we have taken one giant leap further.

I am proud to announce that the Ultra RPG Art Gallery is now open.

First, I want to congratulate Monbrey and his team for doing an amazing job preparing a section that has been months in planning. For a long time now, we’ve embraced fiction writers and roleplayers. Now we can bring artists into the fold. Our Curator team has done a wonderful job planning, preparing, and testing this new method to capture Pokemon and I believe that this is a grand advancement for our community. Monbrey, Curators, thank you for your dedication in moving this project from a small idea to a wonderful reality.

The work is not over though. Now that the section is open, it’s time to begin our adventure. I’d like to encourage our talented members to take a look in the Art Gallery and submit a few pieces. Who knows? Perhaps you might just be able to catch the Pokemon you’ve long waited for. I believe in you and the Curators will help you every step of the way.

More importantly, let’s do more than just participate. This is a whole new section to the URPG, a new feature! Let’s reach out to the Pokemon artists within our communities and show them how they too can join our ranks and share their talents. How they too can create wonderful Pokemon art and grow stronger as trainers. How they too can be the very best there ever was.

Perhaps, some things never change. If so, let these things be the ideals we were founded on. That we control our own destiny, that together we are stronger than we are alone, and that courage will see us through to the end.

Raise your brushes, my friends. Let’s create some art.
