Kaiko was tired. Tired of the same routine, day after day. Tired of being ridiculed when she tried to stand out. Tired of this tiny, restrictive, ramshackle village. She wanted to change.

As much as she loved Piaofu Village, she had come to realize that if she wanted to accomplish anything in life, she needed a change of pace and of scenery. And more than the simple excursions she had gone on with some of the ships. She needed to get out and explore the world. She felt that this village had given her all it could, and while she was grateful for that, she needed to get out and stretch her fins, so to speak.

Now the only question is how does she do that exactly? Honestly, she hadn't really thought that far ahead, but now is as good a time as any to figure it out.

That settles it. I'm leaving today. She gave her mother a farewell kiss and departed her home. She headed over to the main docks, where she hoped to find her ticket out of here.

As she approached, she instantly saw a somewhat large ship tied up to a pier. Sailors were marching up and down the gangplank loading crates of fish and other supplies onto the vessel. She also saw a much smaller fishing vessel with three people on board getting ready for a fishing trip. All of this was fairly normal, but she saw something odd out of the corner of her eye.

At the far end of the dock, she noticed an unusually large flock of Wingull fluttering and squawking around an empty pier. They appeared to be fighting over something, but Kaiko couldn't see what it was.

With Kaiko's options laid before her, it was time for her to choose. Would she try to convince the crew of the large ship to let her join their ranks for a while? Or would she check with the local fishermen for a ride? Maybe she could check out the unusual flock of Wingull, but if she did that, she may not have time to grab either of these rides.

Whatever she does, she had better decide quickly, or she may have to wait a whole other day to leave.

(Which option would you like to pursue?)

Kaikos long dark hair swished from side to side as she looked at the various scenes at the dock, hands on her hips. Her Azurill was tucked away safely in its ball, because for some reason the darn thing didn’t like mornings, and after also saying goodbye to her mother, it had retired for a longer sleep-in. The morning is when everything happens, you silly bubbleblob! You should have listened to me! Kaiko internally grumbled at it.

The wingull hanging around was fairly usual- though not in such numbers. She narrowed her eyes at the crowd of them, not really wanting to get involved, but knowing they were usually making pests of themselves. For now, she’d leave them be. They’re probably just fighting over scraps…And if I somehow fail at getting on any ship, I’ll yell and chase them all off to let off some steam She smirked a little, enjoying the thought.

Right, time to make a choice. She thought, pursing her lips as she looked once again between the two ships. The bigger one probably wouldn’t notice an extra person aboard… but they look busy. Might not even be able to speak to the captain… Probably would get pushed aside… She mused, losing confidence, and turned her attention to the smaller boat.

“Ahoy!” She called out to the group of fishermen, waving and striding over confidently. If they were locals, it was possible they might even look familiar! “Need an extra crewmember for the day? I’ll work for free!” She gave them a toothy grin, wondering how else she could be useful. ”I just wanna get out of town for a bit, y’know?”
