THE CHASM KUA: the summit never yields

    capital city: Honglan City
    current shi: Hero King Hamada

This place in a word is ‘Spartan’. With the bulk of their population scattered in small settlements dotting various caves and canyons across a forbidding, fog-laden flatland, the environment is the first and last thing to remind the people of the Chasm Kua that only the strong will survive. The children learn from a young age that the fight is all they have; each year, a tournament is held and the winner becomes the new Shi.

Hero King Hamada won the tournament at a prodigious age and never stopped winning it since. His prowess on the battlefield is unchecked. It has been said time and time again that only a fool would face him in single combat, and no fool has lived to tell the story. He is a master of tact, of shifting strategy, to be so successful at his young age has earned him the love and adoration of many, in equal part with jealousy and resentment. A pure-hearted warrior, he will never consider using underhanded tactics against his foes.

Honglan City is centered around the Chasm Kua’s central arena, where the Shi tournament is held annually. Pokemon fight Pokemon, People fight People, People fight Pokemon; this place sees it all. Blacksmiths hawk their goods across the streets; vendors call out the latest bets on the fights; the place feels bustling but for the most part well-intentioned. Weapons are created, repaired, and sold almost as often as food is here, and almost every single man, woman, and child knows the basics behind handling any weapon. For the most part, the people here are reserved and awkward, but they are more than willing to share what they know and have with you.
