URPG/Writer's Workshop Collab Contest!

It's time to C-C-C-C-C-C-C-COLLAB!

Venture out of the cave of URPG for a few weeks to see the beauty of the rest of the forums -- fanfic writers unite! We're teaming up with the Writer's Workshop to have YET ANOTHER story comp! Your challenge is to write 1,000 - 4,000 word (that's words, not characters) story around the theme of ‘Unity / Collaboration' to celebrate the spirit of forums working together and meeting new people. That can mean anything – humans, Pokémon, original works, crossovers, you name it! It is up to you to interpret.

Step one: write a story! Once you’ve written the story don't post it here Ha! You'll actally need to go to the Writer's Workshop, and post your story for the readers there to enjoy! They'll be doing the same for us, so prepare for a crazy influx of new work!

Step two: read a story! Since you're already in the Workshop after just having posted a story, you'll need to pick a story there, old or new, and write a brief (100+ words) review. OR, you can write the same kind of review for any of the stories tagged {WUC} posted here!

Step two A: if you're a grader and want to write a full-fledged grade for this, we will pay you accordingly. If you aren't a grader and wanted to write a full-fledged grade for this, we will also pay you accordingly!

Step two A, part one: if you aren't a grader and wanted to write a full-fledged grade for this, you can choose to submit this grade in the place of one of the grades on your grader test. !!! wOwOwOw!

You have until May 12th to post your story in the Writer's Workshop. After you post there, post a link in this thread so we can keep track of who's done what -- update this post with your reviews so you can get $$$ money, too! After then, the mod team over in the Workshop will pick the best stories + there. will. be. prizes!

Best of luck to everyone, and remember the most important part of this: don’t stress out, enjoy yourself and have fun exploring the other section! Rule reminder:
- Your story should be within 1,000 - 4,000 words. Words, not characters.
- You can and should write as many reviews/grades for this contest as you can, but please only submit one story!
- Make sure you are reviewing stories written by non-URPG members -- ie stories posted here tagged {WUC}, or stories in the Writer's Workshop not tagged {WUC}.
- As a URPG regular, you need to post your story in the Writer's Workshop with the tag {WUC} (WW/URPG Collab) before your story title
- You need to post at least one 100+ word review of a story in the Writer's Workshop to be qualified. Please post both in the same post in this thread!

Hello URPG! It's been a lot of fun putting this event together and reconnecting with old friends in the URPG, as well as meeting some new people along the way. This was a competition about uniting and coming together, and we did that in a sense, and I hope that we will be able to strengthen this relationship in the future.

Anyway, I am pleased to finally be able to unveil your winner. It was a closely fought contest: both stories were excellently written making it hard to pick between them. The four judges split right down the middle at first, but after some debate and back and forth, we finally settled on a winner.

Congratulations to the winner, and thanks to all who took part! The others moderators and I will be sharing our thoughts on the individual stories soon, but we loved both of them and it was a genuinely close call - more shall be revealed, along with your prizes

the Boosted Story Pass!

The Boosted Story Pass will allow a writer to write a story and claim any Pokemon of the same rank they wrote for! For example, if I wrote a story featuring Noivern, I could actually claim Sigilyph if I would have passed for Noivern. Likewise, if I write a cash-based story that landed successfully at the Complex rank, I could use this pass to claim either Noivern or Sigilyph! This pass will not be available for purchase at Gift Stations and will only be available during Story events. Major thanks to Menegoth for designing this unique and wonderful prize!
