Welcome, one and all, to the greatest show on Earth:

    ~~The URPG Library~~ 3.0
    Where We Stash Exceptional Stories
    [IMG]

URPG makes a ton of great fanfics each year. Like, enough-to-fill-a-small-library ton, and that's actually what we want to do here: make sure that these stories get the love and recognition that they deserve. And also to fill this random subforum that exists on some forums and doesn't on others. THANKS ORGANIZATION.

That being said, we don't want this to be an individual effort. We want to populate the Library with amazing stories that are chosen by you, the lovely people who make this section as beautiful as it is. So now we turn to you, dear readers, writers, and everything in between: what stories do you want to see immortalized?

THE LIBRARY IN ALL OF ITS LIBRARIAN MAJESTY

    ~THE FORM~

The Google Form for submitting a story to the Library is found here. Yes, there's a few categories there -- that way, browsers of the Library can quickly figure out what they're looking at. Please fill out all of it for your submission to be added.

A breakdown on all the pieces in the form:
    Story Title:
    Story Link:
(just copy/past the URLG directly into this text box)
    Author: (their current forum name)
    Date Published:
    Contest Entry?:
(you have an option to choose between SWC, WWC, WaR, and none)
Pokemon Captured: list all Pokemon captured in this story/installment
Genre: Pick two from our list of genres (see below!)
Warnings: as per our graphic content policy and out of courtesy to our younger members, we do request that you tag sensitive subjects, excessive violence, profanity, or mature content.
Summary: don't post spoilers or anything, but if a casual reader is browsing the library, what would they want to know about this story besides all the stuff you just said?

If you're feeling a bit stuck, here's a breakdown on genres:
Action: Emphasis on exciting action scenes! Rocks fall and everyone dies, explosions everywhere, and so forth. (Examples: Captain America, Casino Royale, The Bourne Ultimatum)
Comedy: Focuses primarily on humor and funny things. You'll at least have cracked a tiny smile while reading this. (Examples: Monty Python, Anchorman, Bridesmaids)
Drama: Portrayals of serious, and sometimes exceptionally heavy, material about life and loss. (Examples: Forrest Gump, Slumdog Millionaire, The King's Speech)
Fantasy: A magical world beyond our imagination. even further beyond our imagination of the creatures known as Pokemon (Examples: The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia)
Horror: From cheesy slasher to pants-wettingly terrifying, this genre focuses on the things that makes us afraid to sleep at night. (Examples: The Shining, It, Paranormal Activity)
Journey: An adventure across the land of Pokemon! (Examples: Pokemon anime).
Mystery: Whodunnit? These are the stories that make you find the culprit at all costs. (Examples: Sherlock Holmes, The Maltese Falcon).
Psychological: These are the stories that make us ponder the deeper questions of the universe, and sometimes even just flat-out question ourselves. (Examples: Silence of the Lambs, Inception, Fight Club.
Romance: From sweeping tales of star-crossed lovers to the quieter side of life. (Examples: The Notebook, Sleepless in Seattle)
Science Fiction: Crazy imaginations of the distant future, and sometimes the not-so-distant future as well. (Examples: Star Wars, The Matrix, Avatar (the blue people))
Slice of Life: If you're looking for explosions, magic, or giant mechas, don't look here -- this is an exploration of the quieter moments in life, and wat they meant to us. (Examples: The Pursuit of Happyness, Marley and Me, The Help)
Tragedy: For the stories that tug at your heartstrings, even when you least expect it. (Examples: Graveyard of the Fireflies, Up, Schindler's List

See something here that you don't like / think we should add or clarify a category? Please let us know!

    ~THE RULES~

Submissions are vetted by Head Graders to make sure that they have meaningful content. That being said, you basically have free reign with this. We have precisely three rules:

    • Stories must be graded URPG Stories. If the Story was posted to other sites, that's fine, but link the URPG version.
    • Fill out the entire form. Incomplete forms will be ignored automatically.
    • No joke/fake submissions. Fill out the whole thing seriously, use actual information, and write a summary. Please.

    ~FAQ?~

    Q. Can I submit my own work?
Of course! Just fill out the form as you would with any other author. Submissions to the Library are anonymous.

    Q. Can I submit someone else's work?
Please do! Spread the laaaahv. <3

    Q. Do I need to log in to my gmail to fill out a submission form?
...PROBABLY NOT. You aren't supposed to have to. We're still test-running this system, but so far it's been perfectly fine accepting anonymous submissions. Let us know if this ends up being an issue.

    Q. Can I write a new submission form for a story that's already in the Library?
Yes, for now. We'll add/combine/update summaries as necessary, but fill out the form completely and we'll look at it.

    Q. Can I submit a story that hasn't been graded yet?
No -- it makes it kind of weird for our archiving purposes, so we'd appreciate it if you could wait until the story is graded. Thanks!

    Q. Your question here?
    ???
