    To grader: This story will make more sense if you read my other story "What Have I Done?", though it's not really necessary to have read it, it just might make this somewhat easier to understand.

    My final memory was of Dysmas, Sky's Murkrow, and as my vision clouded, I knew I was dying. I felt myself being pulled through something. It felt like my body was being forced to liquidate through a funnel, and then whatever was left of it was seeping out. I felt equal amounts of cold and warmth, pain and pleasure, life and death. I forced myself to open my eyes, and was surprised to see a Murkrow and a Swablu fighting above me.

    The Murkrow was definitely not Dysmas, as it was very mangy looking, feathers sticking out all over the place, it's beak crooked, and it's eyes were a deep red color. It horrified me to look at it, and I could feel evil eminating off of it, and tightening it's sneaky tendrils around my heart. I was being pulled under again when the Swablu attacked it with an Ice Beam. The freezing ray of ice struck the Murkrow head on. The Murkrow's flight became unsteady, and it looked as if it was losing altitude. It retaliated with steel wing. The ice now helped its wings to stiffen, and it slapped the Swablu with them. The Swablu flinched and the Murkrow used the opportunity to give it a sharp Peck. As the Swablu grew weaker, I felt the darkness coiling around my heart, ready to strike. Then, the Swablu regained it's senses and used Mirror Move, turning the Murkrow's attacks against it. Before Murkrow could react, the Swablu used Solarbeam. A huge beam of sunlight leapt from every inch of the Swablu's body, blinding me momentarily. When the light faded, the Murkrow was nowhere to be seen.

    The Swablu floated down to me, and as it got closer, I noticed it was the most beautiful Pokemon I had ever seen. It seemed to be made of thin air and it floated before me like a ghost. It's feather were very shiny and a halo of light seemed to surround it. I grew calm in its presence, and for the first time thought to look around where I was. I gasped as I realized I was sitting on a cloud high above the Earth. My mouth gaped in a silent scream as I saw the world thousands of feet below me. My terrible vertigo made me look away and my attention shifted back to the Swablu.

    I reached forward to pet it, "Hey there, little guy," As my hand touched its forehead I felt something enormous looming all around me and through me. The Swablu's mind reached out and grasped mine, holding me captive mentally. I struggled to escape, but I couldn't even blink. The Swablu's control of me was complete.

    "Pigeon," my name echoed in my head, reverberating against the walls of my mind, which compared with the Swablu's, was empty, "Pigeon," it stated again simply, "Come," and it floated towards the edge of the cloud. It pulled my mind after it, and my body had no choice but to follow.

    It made me sit next to where it perched on the edge of the cloud, and for a while it stared off into the distance, Then it turned to me and said, "You have done great harm," a chill ran down my spine and the Swablu delved into my mind and started pulling out memories, memories of unspeakable things, filled with blood, hatred, and in the end, insanity, "You have changed the course of events in the world below, but whether for good or better, I can not yet tell."

    I shivered violently, for once the Swablu had pulled up a few memories, the rest came tumbling out, and with my sanity restored, I felt the consequences of what I had done. We sat in silence for a few seconds again, until the Swablu looked over at me and said, "You are very quiet. Speak."

    I had no idea what to say to it, but the command to speak wouldn't allow me to stay silent so I asked, "What is your name?"

    It smiled with it's eyes and responded, "I have gone by many names, little human; Sana, The Turning of the Shadows, Nuria, and names that cannot be said in this language, but the one I wish to be known by for now, is Zora."

    "Oh," I paused, "Who was the Murkrow?"

    This time, Zora's expression darkened, "That was Vesper. Pray you never meet him again, for if you do, he will keep you, and I will no longer be able to save you, nor will I want to," She stared at the sun that was now getting lower in the sky, "There is something you must do."

    "What?"

    Rather than tell me, she said, "Do you understand the enormity of the hurt you have caused?" I nodded, "You have taken four lives and caused a life to be taken by another. Now you must pay the price for what you have done."

    By now, my head was so full of questions it felt like I had a bee hive of thoughts buzzing around my brain.

    "Am I dead?" I asked.

    Zora laughed, "I thought you would be smart enough to know the answer to that by now."

    I took that as a yes, "What will happen to Blaze and Angel?" I said, missing my Blaziken and Absol.

    Zorua shook her head sadly, "Your death has cost them terribly, but they will survive, because they have each other. Do not worry about them too much, but do not forget them, for they will never forget you."

    "I would never forget them, after all they've done for me," I bowed my head in shame.

    Another moment passed in silence, "Get up now, little human. I will take you to a place to rest. Tomorrow your challenge will begin."

    "What challenge? Is that what I have to do?"

    "I cannot tell you before tomorrow. Just know that even if you do not see me, I will follow you throughout your challenge, and I will watch you to make sure that Vesper doesn't return and try to harm you," I started to ask another question, but Zora silenced me, "Now you must sleep," and as the words left her beak, I began to grow more and more tired, until I could no longer stand. I laid down, and fell fast asleep on the cloud. For the first time in years, my sleep was unmolested by nightmares and evil visions.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    When I awoke, the sun was so bright it hurt my eyes.
    "Awaken, little human. Wake up, Pigeon. Your broken wings have healed and it is time to fly."
    I stood up and felt much shorter than usual. I looked down at my feet and saw that in their place were sharp talons. I squawked in alarm, and the sound made me squawk again. I tried to form words but couldn't.
    "Just think about what you want to say," Zora told me.
    What did you do to me!?, I screamed at her with my mind.
    "This is your first challenge," she said simply.
    What?
    "You'll see," she smirked and everything started to change.
    The cloud seemed to melt away and turn into a rocky mountain ledge. The blue sky above changed to a dreary gray, and lightning crackled across the sky. I felt so free! Never before had I felt so...so...so exhilarated! I felt like I could fly to the end's of the earth and I could! Thunder boomed around me and I screeched at the sky, proclaiming my dominance of these mountains.
    "Calm down, Skarmory!" someone yelled at me.
    I flipped around and there sat one of the men who attacked me and Sky. I growled deep in my throat. As I looked closer at him, I realized I didn't remember killing him. He must have been the grunt Blaze killed. At the thought of Blaze, fear struck my heart. Fire. My only fear. The only thing that could defeat me.
    "What's wrong with you today, Skarmory?" he reached forward to pet me and I jerked back.
    "Be nice!" a voice hissed in my ear, "Learn about this man, and learn how his death affected others"
    Reluctantly, I leaned forward and allowed him to stroke my beak.
    "Good girl, Skarmory. Let's find somewhere to spend the night."
    As the man climbed on my back, I became so disgusted, it took every ounce of my willpower not to hurl him off my back to the foot of the mountain below. I found a small cave as quickly as I could, and sighed in relief when he crawled off my back.
    "Goodnight, Skarmory"
    I nodded in acknowledgement. I curled up by the entrance of the cave, as far from the man as possible, and fell asleep.
    The next morning I woke up, and saw the man had placed a blanket over me during the night. How thoughtful But not thoughtful enough to spare Sky, I grumbled to myself.
    "Good morning, Skarmory."
    I grunted in response.
    "You've been so moody lately, Skarmory. I don't know why you're so upset. You know you're all I have, since Millie died."
    I froze. So familiar...the sense of loss and misery almost overwhelmed me as I remembered how I felt when Sky died. A wave of pity washed over me. I killed four people. I couldn't judge this guy.
