"N-nice pokemon. Don't be afraid..." The girl cooed softly, and reached her hand out to touch the gray pokemon.
"Nice...Pooch-OUCH!" The girl, Elizabeth, pulled her hand back and the Poochyena growled and backed off, disappearing into the bushes.
Elizabeth's first thought was "It ran from me... weird," which ended up in "Ouch it bit me!" Elizabeth looked at her hand. Four little puncture wounds were embedded onto the outside of her hand.
Leaning down on her knees, Elizabeth took her pack off, and pulled out a case filled with first-aid materials.
The girl pulled out a roll of gauze, and cut a piece off, big enough to go around her hand. She leaned back, and sat down on the grass. She wrapped the gauze around her hand a little tightly, and then tapped it together with some tape.
Elizabeth sighed softly, and put the stuff back in her pack. Grabbing it, she slung it over her shoulder and stood up.
"I wonder where that Poochyena ran off too." She thought out loud. It would be nice to have one of those around with her.

Elizabeth had gone on an adventure a day prior. She only had one pokemon with her, and that was a Pichu she had gotten almost a year ago.

Elizabeth was fifteen, and lived in Mauville City, in the Hoenn region. She had shoulder-length brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was originally from Goldenrod City, all the way over in Johto.
The girl pulled out a pokeball, and pushed the button. A red beam of light shot out of the ball, and a Pichu appeared. He looked scared at first, and then turned around, looking at Elizabeth.
"Pi-pi-pichu!" He started, and Elizabeth giggled.
"Hello, Sparkie!" Elizabeth greeted, and the Pichu jumped into the girl's arms. She hugged the little mouse, and Sparkie then moved to Elizabeth's head, and hugged her pigtails. He twitched his ears, and looked down at Elizabeth's hand.
    "Pi-pichu!" Elizabeth raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm? Oh, it's nothing, I ran into a Poochyena. What do you think, should I try and catch it?" She asked, and Sparkie tugged on Elizabeth's hair, and nodded. "Pichu!"
The girl giggled, and Sparkie bounced up and down.
"Don't fall down, Sparkie." Elizabeth reminded, and Sparkie calmed down. Elizabeth smiled, and started to walk, moving deeper into the forest.

After walking for about an hour and a half, Elizabeth's legs started to hurt. She grunted softly, and Sparkie kept looking around the forest. Occasionally, Sparkie would climb off Elizabeth and go sauntering off into the bushes, and returning several minutes later. Elizabeth wasn't sure what the little one was doing, but she assumed it was to scare off other pokemon.
Elizabeth's stomach growled, and Sparkie climbed onto her shoulder, and looked at her. The little pokemon licked her cheek, and Elizabeth giggled. "Are you hungry too, Sparkie? I guess we can make camp here for now," she said and pulled off her pack. She knelt down and unzipped it, pulling out a sleeping bag, some cooking supplies, a pot and some matches.
"Hey Sparkie, help me gather some branches and stuff for the fire," Elizabeth said and Sparkie jumped off her shoulder, and disappeared into the bushes again. Elizabeth shook her head, and chuckled softly, walking in the opposite direction of where Sparkie ran off.

Soon enough, both Elizabeth and her pokemon had collected enough wood for the night. Elizabeth made up a fire, and balanced the branches properly, making a little tent. She lit a match, and watched her little fire start to burn. Watching it, Sparkie climbed onto Elizabeth's head. He watched the flames dance around and lick the wood and air.
Elizabeth leaned over and put more wood on the fire.
