    IT'S TIME FOR HALLOWEEN!

    you know who you are :smirk:    ​

    Come one, come all, for a fantastic festival collaboration of the URPG Podcast and the Stories section! In this, URPGers from far and wide will be encouraged to write us a scary story in the spirit of Halloween! You'll vote on your favorite story, all of which will be anywhere from 5k - 10k, and the winning stories will be read aloud on the URPG podcast for October. Truly an awesome and exciting honor! This competition will vary from other writing competitions in the past in that you will be encouraged to write your story for a particular Category, and thus voting will be based upon Categories too. Stay tuned for what those categories are!

    Check out the timeline for this event as you start to think of your story:

    Timeline​

    Submissions Open: September 17th - October 17th
    Voting Period: October 17th - October 24th
    Results: October 24th

    All deadlines will be 11:59 P.M. CST the day of!

    The podcast will then come soon after, highlighting the best stories!

    Prizes​

    Good things come for participating in this exciting spoopy fest! All participants will earn $5,000 at the end of the competition just for entering! Winners of each category will also receive a treat in the form of a mystery egg that will hatch into a surprise! Or you may get a trick, too! Stay tuned for the shocking results! Or it may just be a treecko too!

    We're hyped to get into the spirit of Halloween here at the URPG! And also grateful to our friends at the URPG Podcast (ayeee!) for encouraging this amazing collaboration! Categories and more details will soon follow!

    Great idea for an event! I think this is the first event that requires shorter entries since that shell one in 2011 so v exciting!

    Wooooooooooo spooky voting everyone! We have wonderful winners and everyone's stories were amazing and pretty scary!!!

    After Tallying the votes, we have come to a conclusion!

    The Infestation! The Nincada were terrifying, and the story telling was super creepy! Wonderful job, Julio! Giving those creepy crawlies a great rep tbh

    LIGHTS OUT! Rou's performing ultimately lead to her own curses from eating her alive! Very spoopy, excellent job Sou!

    The Horrors of Being Lost in the Trees! The poor Igglybuff got hecka spooped by the haunted house that everyone enjoyed, but proved its bravery in the end! Great job Mistral!

    S P O O K! The chance to 'save' humanity, but at a shocking cost that seems too real... and the repercussions were worse! Very psychologically messing, Ralin!

    The Children! A child's nightmare takes a sinister turn as they encounter the sleeping, dead entities of other children within the forest. It was all a nightmare, but will it return?! Great job Mikey57, best podcast host ever tbh

    The Invisible! Woah this was very graphic and violent! The attachment from this ghost seemed like... over-attachment, to the point where rejection resulted in the others demise. Very Scary DP!

    Lions, Tigers, and Bears! We all learn to love, but sometimes it is taken away from us, and that is what Atlas experienced when Axis was taken from them, gone forever and cannot return... Why you causin FROWNS Smiles :( Many spook

    1st!...

    The Pearls That Were His Eyes! A ghost goes to a boy, who has lost their father, and they are lonely. The ghost is lonely as well, telling the boy happy stories as the years go on. The boy doubts the ghost, who promises they will never leave... a tale of two lonely, broken souls. Super creepy and sad, but wonderfully written Elysia!

    Wow! These stories were honestly amazing! But this IS a competition, which means prizes are being awarded to the top 4, as promised.

    Elysia, Smiles, DP, and Mikey57 shall have the honor of having our stories read aloud for the Halloween Special of the Podcast! As well as not only winning one Story Pass each, but we shall each decide a Pokemon that will be included in the next "Fourplay" batch!

    All who entered are awarded 5k for their effort!
