We Should Have Own Forum

We should have our own forum. Easy as that. If we were able to focus instead of being spread across three forums, we would be so much more active! We could still use PXR, PWN, and BMG, we'd just have a major hub to focus in.

This isn't really a new idea, it's something the staff have considered before and decided against.

Why would anyone come to our own forum? What purpose would it serve that BMG, PWN and PXR don't provide?
We've already addressed this issue by centralising static threads containing rules and information onto the Infohub, as this makes updating and maintenance much easier.
We not longer have out of date content on one of the three branches, which allows all of them to be equally valid for activity.

Putting activity in one place does not make us more active - 1/3rd in 3 different places or all of it in 1 place is still 100% of the activity.

At least if we're in one place and not spread out all over it might just make it look more active. I mean I look at PxR's section and think meh it doesn't really look as active. I feel like if I post something here it won't really get noticed unless I say something about it. I mean there have been things posted that haven't been graded in over a month. And another thing what difference does it make if we have our own board or spread out over 3 or more boards. We won't get anything if people don't post about it in their signatures as banner or text. We could move to one board and still have the same amount of activity or more as long as people put it in their signatures and then post all over the boards and especially welcoming new members to the boards when they join.

That one forum would look active. Except that no one would see it.

The way it is now, members of BMG, PWN, and PXR will often see our subforum when looking through the list of forums or at the recent posts. If we made our own forum, there would be no one to see it so it really wouldn't matter how active it was.

And it's well known that PXR is significantly less active than PWN and BMG in terms of URPG. That's something worth attempting to fix, but abandoning forums altogether is not sustainable right now. We would have no real source of new members.

Pretty much this, yeah. If we had our own forum, great, all URPG activity is in one place, but nobody new would be coming to join it.
And if URPG isn't on these three forums, I'd really have no reason to be posting here. So links in my signature would never be seen either.

We would have to start actively advertising ourselves as a game. Pay for banner ads on other websites, things like that. Posting to advertise on forums will often get you banned.

You're completely right that PXR is probably our least active branch, but I don't see how there is any real benefit to closing it. There isn't even much activity to relocate anyway.

The obvious answer is that we put banner ads on OUR site in order to pay for the banner ads on OTHER sites.

It's sort of like a perpetual motion machine, but with money.
