Welcome to the Headquarters of the URPG Section of WAR. I am your host, WTP, who shall be leading you in the festivities in these coming weeks. A lot is different about the rules this year, so pay close attention before scrolling down to the weekly battle rules posts.
Participation:
In past URPG WAR sections, there has been a lot of whining and complaining about people ducking battles and about people not wanting to battle. So, we have a new "sign up" method. Instead of formally signing up to participate in this WAR Section, your accepting of a WAR battle with another individual constitutes your signing up for WAR that week. This means, if Battler A battles Battler B in Week 1, Battler A must then also accept challenges from Battler C in Week 1. However, should Battler A finish out Week 1, he/she does not have to battle anybody if they don't want to in Week 2. Should they accept a battle in Week 2, then they must accept all challenges from anyone else. This way, nobody is "forced" to participate. They know exactly what they are getting into when they accept a battle. This also allows participants to pick and choose which WAR Weeks rules they actually want to battle with. If someone has participated one week but not another, their spot on the spreadsheet will be marked with an "N/P" on the spreadsheet for that week until they accept a battle. So basically, if there is an "N/P" by someones name in the current week on the spreadsheet, they are not obligated to accept your challenges.
Should anyone still not accept battles, while not having an "N/P" by their name, please do PM/contact me on AIM in order for me to investigate. Should I find their refusal of your battle unreasonable, I will deal with the situation accordingly. That being said, please, avoid ducking battles, all of you. I'm going to allow a certain amount of breathing room for you guys here because I understand there are some times when you are just not feeling in the mood for a battle. Do try to make battles happen eventually though.
Battling:
Depending upon how many people participate, I may adjust this number, but tentatively, each battler may only battle the same other battler 3 times a week and only once on any given day.
Ash, this means you cannot pummel Felly 3 times in an hour because that's just plain rude, even if she says she'll battle each time. As per usual, each week will have a specific set of battle rules corresponding to that week and will be placed in the corresponding post for that week. If we are in Week 3 of competition, refer to the Week 3 post to find the Week 3 rules so you can do Week 3 battles (Week 3). I think that about covers battles. So uh... follow the rules.
Also, how logging works here. Refs must log the battles in this thread and indicate which Week the given battle applies to, along with the Team names of the participants. Other than that, they write the log as usual. Wages for these battles reffed will be awarded at the end of the participation week. These wages will be posted in the Marketplace, just like normal ref wages.
Points and Prizes:
The URPG WAR section is allotted 5 points per week. The point breakdown will be as follows:
-2 Points to the Team with the most Wins
-1 Point to the Team with the second most Wins
-1 Point each to the first and second participant with the most individual Wins
All of the participants wins will be recorded on
this spreadsheet.
Now for what is perhaps the most exciting part... the Prizes! As usual, the URPG WAR section will be awarding URPG prizes to the best participants. However, its fun to watch you guys squirm, so we won't be announcing what they are nor will we say who gets them until WAR closes out after Week 5. However, I can tell you that, as usual, all battlers and refs taking part in WAR will
receive double wages for participating and reffing
With that, enjoy URPG WAR guys!
