    @Sour Cleife;: Litwick curation done!

    This picture is great! There’s so much going on. I’ll start with the Pokémon.

    Each of the Pokémon has a distinct pose and expression. Litwick’s got this mischievous look, sticking his tongue out. Lampent looks totally deflated and lazy. Then in the back, Chandelure’s gone beyond mischievous to downright intimidating. It’s really cool how you’ve taken these Pokémon which are otherwise based on inanimate objects and given them the ability to emote.

    Litwick’s just sticking is tongue out, which isn’t too complicated, but it looks great and I love how he’s the one in the foreground, like he’s the most eager to cause some trouble. You created Lampent’s emotion by unfurling those arms of his, as well as giving him tired eyes and the least lively flame of all. Meanwhile, Chandelure’s got this goofy smile that I’m not sure is anatomically correct, but we’ll go with it since it fits so well in the picture!

    I like the way Litwick’s and Chandelure’s flames as partly transparent, and I especially love the way you’ve shown the light that they throw. I can see this very faint purple halo around Chandelure and the shadows are visible but faint, since the light from their flames is spooky, but not intense. I would like to point out Lampent’s shadow, since it’s not really the right shape. Chandelure’s follows the shape of its body very closely, but Lampent’s arms and the top of its head seem to be missing from its shadow. I think this may have something to do with the fact that there are just so many light sources, but I think that even if the light source you used for this shadow was the flame in its face, the shape should still be a little different.

    Moving on to the background: The table looks nice and I can see you’ve shaped it properly for the 3/4 top-down perspective. The only flaw I see is that the outlines between the boards do not follow this perspective. The boards should be angled as well; the way you’ve drawn them, it looks like the left-most board tapers off to a triangular point rather than having a flat edge like the rest of them.

    The bricks in the background look good once again. I can see you took my advice from last time and shaded the wall as a single unit rather than shading the bricks individually. Now you can work in some individual shading to show the different shapes of the bricks! There shouldn’t be a ton of extra shading, certainly not as much as you had on your Honedge drawing, but you can certainly create a little variation in a similar way to how each brick has a unique crack pattern.

    I thought it was funny how you worked your Skrelp picture into the frame behind Chandelure. It really adds to the atmosphere the way it’s faded and even cracked just like the wall. I like the way you’ve drawn the frames, and the shading is consistent with the objects in the rest of the picture. The shredded drapes are also a nice touch. The only criticism I have there is that the outline is probably a little too thick. I think that since the drapes are fairly light, especially where the light from Chandelure’s flame is shining on them, they could have used a thinner outline, around the thickness you used on the bricks. Also, don’t be afraid to vary your outlines either. I see you tend to use a uniform shade and thickness for the outlines on each individual object. You could have made it thick on one part of the drapes and thin elsewhere, or perhaps light on one part and dark elsewhere.

    Grade

    This is a really great picture, and for that reason I’m grading it a 55/55, which means Litwick is captured!

    Since Litwick is a white Pokémon and he's shaded soft sorta like a pearl, this qualifies for the Monthly Theme, and you get $5000!
