In light of the fact that Proto's claim is 2 months old, I just went ahead and curated this.

    Form/Color
Pretty standard stuff for a Simple Pokemon. The sky color is a little agitating to the eyes, but I'm not really going to dock you for that. I really love the theme of this image though. Making Mareep and the clouds look alike is not only a cool image technique, but also it gives the image content. This is something I think a lot of URPG art is missing. Your art actually is saying something.

    Pokemon
Your Mareep is pretty simplistic, but it's a simple Pokemon. I like the distortion on the cloud and you actually did a decent job of shading Mareep overall. One thing that is mildly inaccurate is the shading on the red ball on the tail which seems to contradict the lighting on the rest of the piece. Mareep's shadow is also a little inconsistent with the rest of the lighting, I'm pretty sure it should be angled more towards the bottom right corner of the piece (based on the rest of the lighting).

Another nice touch to really connect the legs to the body would be to have the shading on the legs/tail from the puff body. Naturally, it's going to be darker when the legs are practically behind the puff. It's not something that is necessary for a Simple Pokemon, but it would be nice on other pieces. Also, adding a little bit more texture to the puff on Mareep might've been nice, but you also did it a certain way to make it look like a cloud so it's understandable.

I like the way Mareep is the central part of this image too.

    Environment
There are some things I like and some things I don't on the environement. I like that the clouds are given texture and their shapes are all unique, maybe one or two more clouds would've been nice, but it's okay. The grass also has a similar distortion to it, which gives the illusion of texture and shape. Nice job!

One thing is the line between the "ground" and the "sky" is pretty abrupt. While it's good that it isn't a straight line (meaning the ground actually has some shape), it goes directly from bright blue to dark green. Maybe in the future add some shape the ground in the axis going towards the image/coming out. Also again, that blue is so bright.

    Improvements
    1. Clean up some of your shadows like I said
    2. Try to fix your background to make it cleaner in the future.

    Score
Pretty good piece overall, I definitely had more positive to say about it than negative and that's always enough for a Simple so, 45/35

    Form/Color
So one the one hand, you got all of the colors of Dedenne correct. That's great! But, you don't really have a lot of detail in these colors. If I tilt my screen, I can see that you attempted to do some shading on the piece, and from what I see, it looks like you know what you are doing. You added a nice light patch on the forehead, added dark spots under the chin and along the back. You even gave some shading to the ears, which are shaded a little erroneously, but it isn't bad. However, when I look at the picture straight on, I can't really make out this shading. You have to be more predominant with your shades! You actually know what you're doing so just use a little bit darker colors and the image will literally come to life! Suddenly, your very flat looking picture will look much better. It seems like you know what you're doing, just need to execute a little stronger.

    Pokemon
So this is a portrait of a Dedenne, pretty basic. The features are all there: the face, the ears, the chest. It would've been nice to see you work the tail into the picture too, maybe have it swirling in to the top corner or something. Also, with portraits like this, it's really important to work additional details into the face and body. Try adding little splotches of fur or maybe give the teeth a lot of detail. When you add these details it makes the piece of art standout, instead of leaving a rather bland piece like this one. If you're having trouble coming up with details like this, maybe try putting your spotlight Pokemon in a different pose? Try mixing it up, the more elements you have in your art the better!

Furthermore, in the future you should work on smoothening your linework. For example, on the ear closest to us, there is a little awkward skinny patch at the very top of the ear. It should be more consistent throughout, like the other ear. Also, the lines on the mouth are a little awkward. Otherwise, the outlines are all pretty good, so it's more about being consistent than anything else.

    Environment
Unfortunately, there isn't much background to speak of. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, though, you can totally do a portrait, but you are going to need to add a lot more detail to the portrait side of the picture if that's the type of image you want to submit. Also, personally I think the pink color backdrop is a little distracting. I would've liked to see a darker color maybe? I'm not totally sure, but I just don't really like the pink.

    Improvements
    1. Emphasize your shadows more!
    2. Add more details to your portrait piece!
    3. If you can't think of details to add, try spicing up the background or doing an action pose type picture!

    Score
This definitely needs some fixing up, it isn't bad, but you need to put in a little more effort to get the Simple Pokemon: 25/35
