Greetings, artists! Have you ever drawn a really gorgeous picture of a Magikarp and felt ill-inclined to submit it because you knew you’d only be getting a floppy fish for hours’ worth of effort? What about that time when you wanted a Wingull but knew you wouldn’t get much reward, so you really lowballed your drawing? Good news: that’s a thing of the past! Art is moving to a system of passing every piece at its true rank!

But Velo, you may ask, what does that even mean?

From here on out, Curators will be giving a set, concrete rank for every art piece that they curate - both for cash and capture submissions. If your capture piece passes at a rank higher than the rank of the targeted Pokemon, you will capture the target Pokemon and earn cash equal to the difference between the cash value of the rank you earned and the cash value of the rank your target sits at. This cash will, like all the cash you earn from Art for Cash, count toward your Legend tracker, as will any Pokemon you capture.

FOR INSTANCE,

I draw a Growlithe (Medium rank). However, I go above and beyond in my artistry and I earn a Complex rank on this particular picture. I capture the Growlithe, but because Complex is a higher rank than Medium, I also earn cash. The Complex rank corresponds to $30k in cash; the Medium rank corresponds to $10k in cash. I earn (actual rank - target rank) = (Complex - Medium) = ($30k - $10k) = $20k in addition to my capture of Growlithe. I get 30k toward my Legend tracker.

I draw a Cutiefly. It’s not my magnum opus, but it’s pretty good. I earn a Medium rank on this piece. I capture the Cutiefly, but because Medium is a higher rank than Simple, I also earn cash. The Medium rank corresponds to $10k in cash; the Simple rank corresponds to $5k in cash. I earn (actual rank - target rank) = (Medium - Simple) = ($10k - $5k) = $5k in addition to my capture of Cutiefly. I get 10k toward my Legend tracker.

I draw a Natu. It’s solidly Medium. Because I pass at the Medium rank, I earn the Natu, but no extra cash. I get 10k toward my Legend tracker.
