It’s been a while since we last announce some changes to the Park, but after some time, we’re finally back with some new changes. This is another round of big changes, so buckle up, ladies and gentlemen. It’s time to break down the changes for y’all.

  • New threads for claiming Pokemon and ending runs
In our first round of changes, we decided that Trainers could claim Pokemon once they captured them in their runs. We’ve made a new thread called the Pokemon Claim Thread (PWN | PXR in which Trainers can now post to claim Pokemon caught on their runs without needing to wait for the run to end. Please make sure you use this thread when claiming Pokemon before your runs end for verification purposes, and Rangers, please make sure your Trainers know about this thread if they express interest in claiming Pokemon early.

In that same vein, we’ve also made adjustments to the old Ranger claim thread, now called Run Completion (PWN | PXR), for when Trainers decide that their runs are complete. Please still post in this thread when your Trainers complete their runs to keep track of items, award money for photos taken (if any), and award EXP (if any).
  • Region Sprays added to the National Park Shop
To allow players to have more control over the types of Pokemon they encounter in their runs, we’ve added Region Sprays to the National Park Shop. Region Sprays will cost $1500, and they can only be used in the Enigma Ruins. As with other repellants and sprays, only one can be used per run, so a Region Spray cannot be used with another repellant. The region will be chosen upon purchase.
  • Beginner runs can now be done as the first run regardless of join date
There have been some old faces coming back to URPG, and that’s great! However, some of those old faces may have never participated in the National Park before, and now that they’re back, they want to get involved. The Beginner Run is a great way for them to do that, but because they joined so long ago, they were unable to take advantage of its benefits.

We are now changing the Beginner Run so that you can now do it as your first run, regardless of when you joined the URPG. This means you do not have to do it within the first two months of you joining the URPG, but you can now do it at any point in your URPG career so long as you have not gone on another Park Run first. If you’re interested in going on a Beginner Run, head over to the Front Gate (PWN | PXR)!
  • Starter Pack now available for your first character
To go along with the above change, we have now changed it so that you receive the Starter Pack with your first character, regardless of when you create that character. As a reminder, the items in the Starter Pack are 3 Park Balls, 1 Energy Powder, 1 Lava Cookie, and 1 Poke Doll. For all characters beyond the first or for any items not on that list, you will have to purchase them from the National Park Shop. Remember that you will need to create a character before you can go on your first run in the Park. When you’re ready to create your first character, head on over to the National Park Sign Up (PWN | PXR) to get started!
  • Digital camera buff
The Digital Camera has been in need of a bit of a buff for some time. The reward was far too low for the price of the camera. We’ve buffed the payout for photos taken in the Park with the Camera, and as a result, the price of the camera has been increased slightly to accommodate for the changes. The changes made have been outlined below.

    Old System
    Digital Camera - $7000
    - Take a Legendary Pokemon's picture and sell it for $2000.
    - Take a Picture of a Special Pokemon and sell it for $1750.
    - Take a Picture of a Rare Pokemon and sell it for $1500.
    - Rangers can deduct up to 50% of the picture's value for poor quality.
    - Taking a Pokemon's picture startles it and makes it flee before you can battle and/or capture it, and your remaining encounters ARE affected.
(Applies ONLY to Legends/Rares/Specials! No other category)

    New System
    Digital Camera - $9000
    - Take a Legendary Pokemon’s picture and sell it for $5000
    - Take a Special Pokemon’s picture and sell it for $3000
    - Take a Rare Pokemon’s picture and sell it for $2000
    - Rangers can deduct up to 50% of the picture’s value for poor quality.
    - Taking a Pokemon’s picture startles it and makes it flee before you can battle and/or capture it, and your remaining encounters are affected.
(Applies only to Rare, Special, and Legendary Pokemon. No other category.)

The new camera system will go into effect as of this post.
  • Rangers will now reroll repeat encounters on the second roll instead of the third.
At the moment, Rangers have to roll a Pokemon on your encounter list three times before they can reroll it to give you a chance to find something else. This means you would’ve had to roll three Pidgey before the Ranger would reroll one of them for something else. We’re now changing that so that it happens on the second roll instead of the third. So instead of a Ranger waiting for three Pidgey to be rolled, they can now roll two Pidgey and reroll one of them into a different Pokemon of the same rank!

We hope y’all enjoy these changes, and we look forward to making the Park even better for y’all in the future!
