Just a random comment, and you don't have to do this if you don't want to, but you could totally write a wrestling based story. :3 A suggestion, even, but you don't have to take it. Just thought I'd post here 'cause PXR URPG deserves more love.

You could probably catch a few decent fighting types from a wrestling story. Hawlucha being the obvious one.

Okay, I've decided. I'm not doing the Vaporeon and Luxray story just yet. Instead, I'll try for just a Mightyena. I have a pretty good (and I think original) story in mind, and I've starting writing it out a bit. Also, I agree that PXR URPG needs some love. I adore the idea of writing to win Pokemon and not having to participate in a contest to do so. I hope to submit many stories here.
Is it ninja Skarmory or Ninjask armory?

Vaporeon: Shiny Collection | Mightyena: URPG | Absol: Sprite Gallery | Mega Lopunny: Naturelocke Challenge | Serperior: Pokemon Aesthetics | Ampharos: Prism Stats | other sprites are placeholders for when something exists for them to link to

Good luck with that - always great to see new members with an interest in writing. Speaking of which, I haven't wrote for a Pokemon in a while, it's something I need to get around to.

    Hi my friends,

In lieu of the Winter Gifting Station, Grader Wages will come out on December 22nd. The next one will be on January 1st so we set a regular monthly schedule for the rest of the year. Make sure those logs are updated. Remember that there is a grading bonus for Secret Santa stories!

In regards to Secret Santa, you now have 6 days, until December 24th, to complete and post your Secret Santa story to one of the three forums. Gift Pokemon will be exchanged and Stocking Stuffers rolled on December 25th.

[22:28:23] Lovecraft: Anybody gonna partake on it?

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Isn't nanowrimo in November?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    yes

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
but camp nanowrimo is on april and july
and it has more flexible wordcount
    etc.

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Oh.

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:33 pm
    what's that?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    this writing thing
    nanowrimo

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Um, so, what's that?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
is to write something that's 50k word long in one month

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    (Ninja'd! )
    Also huge lash, apparently.

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    plus or less some restrictions

    Truly An Cat 10:34 pm
    *lag

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:34 pm
    for... urpg?

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
(Has to be fiction, has to be one story)
    No, in general

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:34 pm
    where?

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
Camp NaNoWriMo is similar but it has flexible wordcounts
And it's a bit more social
    On the internet
    campnanowrimo.org
    for camp
    and nanowrimo.org
    for nano

    Truly An Cat 10:34 pm
Oh. Normal nanowrimo can be different stories.

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
    iirc

    Truly An Cat 10:35 pm
    Iirc

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:35 pm
    is it a compition?

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
nah nanowrimo is novel, so it has to be one big work

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:35 pm
    *compitition

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
    camp can be short stories
    not necessarily
    the goal is to write
but you can make it a competition if you so wish

    Truly An Cat 10:35 pm
    It's more like a marathon

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
    Indeed

    Truly An Cat 10:36 pm
See who can cross the finish line, more than who gets there first

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:36 pm
    oh okay

    Lovecraft 10:36 pm
Anyhow, if anybody's participating or something, just tell me. So we can maybe make a cabin for everybody or s/t. Idk

    Hi!

IT appears that there were no graded stories in the month of August, so there will be no August grader wages. Let me know if you did grade something and just didn't update your log / if I missed it, and I'll get you your monies straight away!

WaR has been extended by another two weeks! Entries are now due by 11:59 P.M. CST on Monday, September 14th.

Graders, check out the Ungraded Story List. We got work to do.

Elysia is now also the Co-Head Grader, in case you haven't seen the announcement! YAY ELY! <3

    Go Stories!

Go Tell It on the Mountain!

(Monthly Story Discussion – July 2017)

Hi everyone! I’d like to take some time this month to talk to all of you about the ways in which you engage with other fan-fiction communities around the Internet. I think there are many opportunities out there for our players to become well-rounded writers by participating in other communities, and we can recruit new members by using our stories to evangelize!

As far as artistic communities go, I’m only familiar with DeviantArt, and that format has always seemed a little too fast-paced and visual for written works to attract attention. So, I’ve got a few questions I’d love you all to think about this month:

    - What fan-fiction or other artistic sites do you visit, either to read or contribute?
    - How has that site contributed to your development as a writer?
    - What kind of posting format does the site use? What’s the best way to attract attention to your stories?
    - How can we cross-post URPG stories to invite other users of that site to visit URPG? Would the site be open to that kind of recruitment?

As an example, whenever I post a story or piece of artwork on DeviantArt, I usually add this in the description:

This story was written as a submission to the Pokémon Ultra Role-Playing Game (hence the Pokémon theme). If you like Pokemon, check us out! The Pokémon URPG uses a similar battle system to the main Pokémon games, but we integrate creative pursuits like stories, art, and role-playing into the process of capturing Pokémon to use in those battles.

You can read this and other URPG stories on Pokemon Crossroads!
Any thoughts on a sort of “standard” description we could all use for URPG stories posted across the ‘net?

I look forward to hearing your ideas!
