Starting with this ref wages period, the structure of FFA payments will be changing slightly. Based on popular rewards schemes, instead of money all participants will receive a ribbon even if you didn't actually win the FFA.

But really, this isn't a new ref thread and the payments will actually change. FFA Fridays/Weekends will no longer exist. This bonus structure has served it's purpose. URPG has entered a much more active era in which FFAs always tend towards the larger end of the scale. We also don't want to encourage the all-to-common act of joining an FFA just for the first turn, pushing it into a high bracket, and making an easy $4,000 - $5,000 for sending for one turn.

Instead, the payments for ALL FFA's will be changed regardless of when they are run:
  • Base payments will increase from $1,000 to $2,500
  • The first three out receive $2,500, and payments increase by $500 per Pokemon eliminated after
  • The winner of the FFA will receive a bonus $1,000
  • The referee receives $2,000 + $500 per Pokemon

This payments are roughly based on the middle tier of the old bonus structure, which was +$2,000
  • Everybody gets at least $1,500 more
  • The winner gets $2,500 more
  • The ref gets $2,000 more, which is equal to the winner.

Finally, as an example, a 10-player FFA would look something like this:
  • 10th: $2,500
  • 9th: $2,500
  • 8th: $2,500
  • 7th: $3,000
  • 6th: $3,500
  • 5th: $4,000
  • 4th: $4,500
  • 3rd: $5,000
  • 2nd: $5,500
  • 1st: $7,000
  • Ref: $2000 + 10 x $500 = $7,000
