It's that time of year again, folks! The time of year where we decide to throw caution to the wind as our competitive spirits take over in an all out brawl to see who's the very best. Some...well,
all of us...even call it a WAR. Being the love, joy and happiness-filled community that we are, URPG has never been a group that would back down from perpetually kicking each other's butts, so here we are with our own slice of the action! So get those Pokeballs ready! ...but also put on some reading glasses cause the rules are important too (we can't have actual casualties this year)!
Participating:
Like last year, there will be no formal sign-ups in order for any URPG member to participate in our section of WAR. Instead, accepting at least one battle
each week is basically the same as signing a contract that says: "I will accept battles the rest of this week if I am online and able." You know what you are getting into if you accept a battle. Battle dodging and being picky about who you face will not be tolerated and can result in point deduction. Don't start huge arguments over AIM, just send me a PM (on BMGf please) and I will deal with it. At the same time, don't harass people to accept battles. We are all humans here (maybe) playing a
game, so please try to find some balance. Again, I am fully contactable if anything needs to be sorted out. Let's just remember to have fun!
Battling:
Before anyone asks, yes, battling is currently the only facet of URPG that competes in WAR. Hopefully this will change in the future, but right now this is what we've got. While I encourage as much participation as possible from each member, I also fully recognize that there is room for abusing the system (as usual) so I'll address that here. In order to avoid the same person beating up the same other person over and over again for quick wins the following rules are in place like last year:
-You can only battle any given member once per day. After you've fought them, go find someone else.
-You can only battle any given member 3x per week. If I see that this is being abused to its fullest extent, I may even decrease this number, but I don't forsee that being an issue.
Like I said before, it's all about balance. We're all smart (lol) and know what's right and wrong, so let's keep the abuse to a min and the fun to max! If anything questionable comes up, ask me.
Refs should log all battles in here. It is important that you note
what teams the battlers are on, and what week the log is for. The ref should also note if they are on a team so that I can determine if they are eligible for a Point after wages. If this info is missing, I will skip the log when I do wages. I'm not trying to be a buttface, but I'm also not trying to be a detective. Please give the necessary information. After all,
wages will be doubled again for both battlers and refs!! As usual, there will be a special rule each week that all battles must follow in order to qualify as WAR battles.
Points and Stuff:
I have 6 points to give out each week, so here's how they'll be awarded:
+2 Points to the Team with the most overall wins each week.
+1 Point to the Team with the second most overall wins each week.
+1 Point to the member with the most wins each week.
+1 Point to the member with the most battles each week.
+1 Point to the Ref with the highest WAR wages each week. In order to qualify for this, you must also have battled at least once and you obviously must be on a WAR Team. If there is no qualifying Ref for this, the Point will instead go to the member with the second highest amount of wins each week.
Ties will be broken based on the variety of players the battler has fought. This means that if Ash and Winter tie for the most wins in one week, but Ash battled Felly 3 times while Winter fought Fawkes, Maxie, and Prince Vultan, then Winter would be awarded the points. Ties among highest Ref wages will be decided based on the amount of WAR battles that Ref has been in, followed by the win-ratio of those battles, followed by a die roll if things are still tied for that area.
Like last year, URPG will have its own set of prizes for the winning Team, but what those prizes are have not yet been determined. It's based on participation. The more you battle, the better your prizes will be!!
So without further ado, get out there and fight, URPG, FIGHT!!! >:D
