URPG Devolution Tournament
After many requests, URPG's next tournament will be a basics tournament!
For this, we'll be using Pokemon from your stats in their basic form. All Pokemon used must meet the following criteria.
The Pokemon MUST be able to evolve (no Stunfisk, Kangaskhan, etc)
The Pokemon MUST be used in it's earliest stage (eg no Pikachu, Vigoroth, etc)
The Pokemon MUST NOT be one of the following:
Scyther
Sneasel
Murkrow
Lickitung
Munchlax
Tangela
Porygon
Cranidos
Gligar
Misdreavus
Abra
Type: Null
Additionally, the move Shell Smash will fail.
This time we're also banning some new items with the addition of Sun and Moon!
-Eeveeium-Z is banned because OP!
-Z Conversion, Sketch, Trick-Or-Treat, Forest Curse, Geomancy, Happy Hour, Celebrate, Hold Hands, and Purify! We determined the AP rised Z-Moves would be a little too overpowered within a basics tournament and decided for the specific Z-Move ban!
For the purposes of this tournament, Eviolite will also be banned. While it is useful to provide balance to NFE's in the standard metagame, it has no place in this tournament. DeepSeaTooth and DeepSeaScale are also banned.
The basic Pokemon you use will retain any moves that they would still be eligible to know in their basic form (for instance, if you have a Charizard being used as Charmander, it could use Dragon Claw which a level up move for Charizard and a TM for Charmander, Flare Blitz, which is level up for Charizard and BM for Charmander, or Dragon Pulse, which is an TM for Charizard and BM for Charmander (if it has it). It can't use Wing Attack, which is level up for Charizard but not learned by Charmander, or Focus Blast, which a TM for Charizard but not learned by Charmander). Please make sure to check the Ultra Dex and make sure you know your movesets. Teams are not locked, so you are free to use any Pokemon in each of your battles.
Battle rules will be as follows:
4v4-6v6 (4v4 for earlier round(s) unless both agree, will increase for later rounds)
S/M Private Full (Preview can be Full if both battlers agree)
Helds On unless agreed by both battlers
No Starting Weather
Default Terrain
Sleep/Freeze/OHKO/Accuracy/Evasion Clauses
And prizes will be as follows*:
1st Place: Complex Pokemon with 3 EM's
2nd Place: Hard Pokemon with 2 EM's
3rd Place: Medium Pokemon with 2 EM's
4th Place: Simple Pokemon with 1 EM
*Subject to change based on participation
This will be Double Elimination
The $10,000 entry fee implemented previous tournaments was fairly successful, so you'll also have to ante up for this one. The same rules apply; show up to all your battles or make a sincere attempt to schedule one and your deposit will be refunded when you are knocked out (or win the tournament).
Sign ups are open now - the bracket will be posted around April 21st! Hopefully I'm not TOO Busy. Rounds will last one week each. I am willing to extend this time if you contact me BEFORE the round is over and explain the circumstances.
