~GYM LEADER TOURNAMENT 2016~


Welcome all to the annual Gym Leader Tournament! Here we will gather the best of the best, the cream of the crop! Come and defend your type, your region (unless it's OI lel), and your dignity! Can you prevail against unfavorable match-ups? Can you prove you've assembled a team worthy of defending your Gym? Only the strongest Gym Leader will emerge and be crowned the 2016 Gym Leader Tournament Champion!


Rules [u break em, I break yo face]:
- You must post in this thread using the below form to confirm that your Gym is participating in this tournament.
- You may only use Pokemon you use in your Gym (owned or rented). If your line-up changes during the tournament, you will have to use the Pokemon that are on your signup sheet.
- All battles and match-ups will be determined completely randomly, avoiding any type bias. Rolls will be done on Discord.
- This is an elimination tournament. That means if you lose, you're out.
- If there is an issue with time zones then make sure you contact me as soon as possible and we'll set up a date and time for you to battle your opponent, or for me to approve a forum battle until you can get on Discord to finish it.
- Defeating a Gym Leader in this tournament does not grant you their badge.
- All battles will take place on Discord and not the forum to ensure they are done quickly. The goal is to have each round take no longer than ten days. A forum battle will be approved if the battlers cannot catch each other online for whatever reason, but the battlers must come to me first as the forum battle is the last resort to get the battle done in a reasonable amount of time.
- Orange Island Gyms are not allowed to compete.
- You may use your Wild Card in the tournament. (No, Silvally is not a universal Wild Card it is Normal only)

Battle Rules:
All battles during this tournament will be 6v6. Below are the default rules for all battles.

S/M Private Preview (may be changed to S/M Private Full if both battlers agree)
Items On (may be changed to Items Off if both battlers agree)
No Weather / Default Terrain
SLP/FRZ/OHKO/ACC/EVA Clauses On

Schedule:
Signups go from when this is posted until 11:59pm EST on January 4th. Each round should last between 7 - 10 days. Any battles that don't happen within 10 days will result in one or both battlers being kicked from the tournament. No exceptions. There's no entry fee for this tourney and 10 days is plenty so there's no excuses. As always contact me right away if there's any issues. Do not wait until the last second and please make a concerted effort to get your battles done. I can also post rounds early if they're done ahead of time!

I ain't chasin anyone down to get their battle done. Do them or contact me in any way you see fit if you absolutely can't. I love you all but I have this magic filter that dumb shenanigans can't get through. :^)

I reserve the right to judge who should move on in any given round if the battle doesn't finish/start.

Prizes:
*** Please note that these prizes are subject to change based on the level of participation in this tourney. Wild Cards do not count as being your gym's type when claiming a prize.

First Place Prize:
- If you have any Rented Pokemon, you may choose one of those Pokemon to become Owned in addition to any EMs you have on them, and 3 more TMs on top of these.
- If all of your Pokemon are Owned, you can claim any non-Legendary Pokemon of your Gym's type with 3 TMs on it.
- If you own all the Pokemon of your Gym's type then you may pick any non-Legendary Pokemon with 3 TMs on it.

Second Place Prize:
- If you have any Rented Pokemon you may choose one of these Pokemon to become Owned in addition to any EMs you already have on them.
- If all of your Pokemon are Owned you may claim one Complex-level or lower Pokemon of your Gym's type.
- If you own all the Pokemon of your Gym's type you may claim a Complex-level or lower Pokemon.

Third Place Prize:
- If you have any Rented Pokemon you may choose one of these Pokemon to become Owned in addition to any EMs you already have on them, as long as their lowest-evolved form is Medium-ranked or lower.
- If you have Rented Pokemon but none of their lowest-evolved forms is Medium-ranked or lower, you may choose one Medium-level or lower Pokemon of your Gym's type.
- If all of your Pokemon are Owned you may claim one Medium-level or lower Pokemon of your Gym's type.
