Yep, you read right! This isn't a joke thread. This is a bit overdue, but there are a handful of TMs whose prices were a bit inconsistent in ratio with their usability in battle. Therefore, we decided to lower and raise the prices of a few TMs. Here are the changes with the reasonings behind why they were changed:

  • Mega Punch: 3k -> 2k TM Frustration and TM Return pretty much make this move obsolete unless you're going for NUKEM.
  • Take Down: 3k -> 2k TM Double-Edge makes this obsolete.
  • Water Gun: 3k -> 2k Self-explanatory.
  • Pay Day: 3k -> 2k Self-explanatory.
  • Mega Drain: 3.5k -> 2k TM Giga Drain makes this obsolete.
  • Bide: 3k -> 2.5k It's not that great of a move, but can be very situationally, I guess.
  • Curse: 3.5k -> 3k To remain consistent with TM Calm Mind, TM Bulk Up, and TM Work Up which are all currently 3k.
  • Metronome: 5k -> 3k Luck based and 95% of the time will not help you.
  • Swift (that's me!): 4k -> 3.5k because I suck To remain consistent with TM Aerial Ace which is currently 3.5k.
  • Soft-Boiled: 5k -> 4k To remain consistent with TM Roost which is currently 4k. You're welcome, Mew and perma Exeggcute!!
  • Rollout: 4k -> 2.5k Not as OP as it was in Gen 2. RIP Whitney's Miltank.
  • Icy Wind: 4.5k -> 3.5k It's a good move, but the 55 Base Power doesn't really justify being worth 4.5k.
  • Dragon Breath: 4.5k -> 3.5k Base Power is too low for a 4.5k-tier TM.
  • Sleep Talk: 4k -> 3k Less luck based than Metronome, but still usually ends up being useless more often than not.
  • Thief: 4.5k -> 2.5k This move isn't used too often, and it's really not that great.
  • Nightmare: 4k -> 3k Too unpredictable due to sleep counters. Not the best of stall-out moves.
  • Shock Wave: 3k -> 3.5k To remain consistent with TM Aerial Ace which is currently 3.5k.
  • Dragon Pulse: 4.5k -> 4k For consistency's sake. Ice Beam was cheaper with higher Base Power and a freeze chance.
  • Silver Wind: 4.5k -> 4k Base Power is low even with the great (but rare) effect it has.
  • Embargo: 4k -> 2.5k Too situational for 4k.
  • Avalanche: 4.5k -> 3.5k Negative priority and only situationally good Base Power make it not really worth 4.5k.
  • Pluck: 4.5k -> 3.5k Base Power is low and effect is situational.
  • Retaliate: 4.5k -> 3.5k To remain consistent with TM Facade.
  • Smack Down: 4k -> 3k Base Power is low and effect is situational.
  • Roar: 2.5k -> 3k Has become very good in Generation 6; it goes through even Protect now, and never misses.
  • Whirlwind: 2.5k -> 3k Same as TM Roar.
  • Rock Tomb: 3k -> 3.5k Had an accuracy bump recently, and should be consistent with other damaging moves that also lower/raise speed.
  • Flame Charge: 4k -> 3.5k Base Power is low. Should be consistent with Rock Tomb/Icy Wind etc.
