Ultra Wormhole RP — Kaiden (DragonMasterRobert)

A young woman named Tella paced back and forth in the centre of the worn dirt road leading to the Ranger outpost at the Enigma Ruins, her almond-shaped blue-grey eyes narrowed at the bustle of Rangers and Trainers that surrounded her. People and Pokémon were everywhere: going to and fro from the various tents and hastily erected cabins; arriving and leaving along the road she stood on; and of course, occasionally appearing or disappearing into the hazy distortion of the Wormhole at the centre of the encampment.

The portal to another dimension, which had recently opened just next to the entrance to the Enigma Ruins, looked from a distance like just a wavering in the air: an impossible heat haze on this chilly winter day. When one drew closer, though— within perhaps twenty metres— the wavering turned into a gaping rent in the world, with multicoloured light pouring out. The Wormhole had been deemed "Only Somewhat Dangerous" by the Park authorities, a decision Tella considered highly foolish. Who knew when an unexplained (and unexplainable) warp in the very fabric of reality could suddenly close?

But people were coming in droves to the Park to investigate the anomaly and seek the rare Pokémon therein; and her job required her to guide them. So much for the relative solitude of going alone or in small groups into the wilderness. For what was not the first time (and she doubted it would be the last, either,) Tella reconsidered her choice of employment.

Anyone watching the young woman would consider her eminently prepared. Her clothing was practical to a fault, with a jacket worn partly open to reveal a bulletproof vest; kevlar patches sewn onto the arms and legs of her serviceable black clothing; and a sizeable pack on her back that was crammed full of a plethora of hiking or camping supplies for any situation. At her belt were the six Poké Balls that marked Tella as a Trainer: the belt, a high-tech affair that would automatically eject all six in the event of an emergency, was itself a tool of her trade.

She was awaiting a Trainer who would be visiting the Wormhole; he should be here any moment. "Kaiden," she said quietly, reminding herself of the name she'd been given on the Park paperwork. A brief glance at the haze in the air that hid the Wormhole; Tella frowned. "Hope he gets here soon. I want to be well away from that thing when it closes."
