OOC: @glik; Feel free to ask any questions either here or PM. Make sure you have had a good read through of the basic rules and ideas behind the park. Your first encounter will start next post once we’ve walked to the Woods. Also apologies for being slow/lazy - it won’t be as long between posts.

NBP 1:
Buzz was relaxing in his office chair. He had recently been in a meeting about attracting new trainers into the park. Ivy and Chainy had organised a new deal for very new trainers that haven’t necessarily evolved their first Pokémon or didn’t have a lot. It was a very good deal and it meant that trainers didn’t have to spend the money necessary for a full run, because they were given a basic set of supplies and it was only a very short run.

Buzz knew that because the trainer may not have a fully evolved Pokémon yet it would be important to ensure that only low leveled Pokémon were encountered. Buzz had a few ideas of how to do this. Buzz thought it would be interesting to have such a short run, but he knew the chances of getting a very good Pokémon were slim.

The computer in front of him bleeped, he quickly scanned over the email that had just come in. A trainer named Daniel with just a Lotad had signed up for the introduction runs. He fired off a quick email to the proper listing to confirm that he would take the run. His idea for ensuring the level of Pokémon was appropriate needed some specific Pokémon from his team, some of which he hadn’t even taken out into the park before.

Buzz gathered a smaller supply of the usual equipment he took on runs. He made a quick note on the active run boards. He took one last check of his emails in order to make sure that there was nothing to be taken care of in the woods, which unfortunately there wasn’t. It looked like it would be a straight-forward, but short expedition through the woods. Buzz gave one last check of headquarters to ensure he hadn’t forgotten anything.

Buzz stepped out into the bright sunlight and took a quick sip of the water bottle he was holding and waited patiently for the new trainer; the form indicated he was looking for someone about his height wearing a straw hat, which seemed a little odd, but who was he to judge.Buzz wore beanies in every weather, which others found ridiculous.

OOC: Hope the text colors aren't difficult to read or anything. And which button does that mention thing?

Kenzie ambles around the Ranger Headquarters, routinely turning his head towards whichever noise or sight catches his interest. His flip-flops flap at the grass as he swings his legs out in long, slow strides, looking like he was going on a walk through a city park and not about to go through a forest full of wild Pokemon. His gaze drawn upwards by the flapping of a bird Pokemon's wings, he doesn't even notice the Ranger waiting for him. He would have continued on his stroll around the building had the Lotad on his head not drawn his attention with a "Lo".

"Hnh?" Kenzie looks over his shoulder and realizes there's another person. "Oh, hey. You're that Ranger guy I'm s'pposed to meet?" Drawing a hand from his pocket as he turns back to the man, he offers a shake. "I'm Kenzie." "Tah-dul." "Ah yeah, that sign up thing wanted my name, so it prolly says Daniel. But everybody calls me Kenzie."

After it notices that it's not being introduced, the Lotad puts its weight on the edge of the hat it's perched on, tilting Kenzie's head to the side. "He's Lo," he says, to which the Water Weed Pokemon confirms with a "Lo."

OOC: @glik; My apologies i've been quite ill over past couple of days so haven't been up to writing. As for the tagging its @ username ;

NBP 2:
Buzz turned to see the trainer walking from round headquarters along side the small creature with the lily pad atop its head. Oh, hey. You're that Ranger guy I'm s'pposed to meet?" he said as he drew out a hand to shake. Buzz reciprocated shaking the hand firmly. "I'm Kenzie. Ah yeah, that sign up thing wanted my name, so it prolly says Daniel. But everybody calls me Kenzie."

"Yep, i'm that ranger guy. I'll be walking you through the woods on this special expedition," Buzz replied. "I'm Buzz, Well no time like the present!" Buzz began to lead the way down the path towards the Woods. Normally he would use Xatu to teleport all of us over there but the woods weren't that far away. She also had to conserve some of her psychic energy to help enact his plan.

After a brisk walk the vast array of trees came into sight. There was a whole range of tree types visible as they approached the entrance to the woods. A small beaten walkway formed by rangers and trainers on expeditions. It had taken months of expedition by rangers to map out a safe route through the forest. "Well here we are," Buzz said to Kenzie, as the canopy of leaves overhead limited the sunlight. Beams of light glimmered down onto the path through the gaps formed. "Now as you know, this will be a short run of five encounters. The main thing is that they will be appropriate for a Lotad, in order to ensure this I'm going to need some help from my Pokémon."

With that Buzz pulled five Poké Balls from his belt tossing them sequentially into the wooded area around the small group. First out was a small green bird with white wings and fascinating patterns running across its chest. Next up was a large blue metallic quadruped with a silver cross on its face. The third Pokémon to unveil itself from the Poké Balls was a ghostly image of a chandelier, with purple flames flickering atop its arms and head. The last two were a very strange duck-like pink and blue Pokémon and finally a purple starfish with large ruby adorning its chest.

Buzz smiled as his Pokémon looked around at him. River Tam, his Xatu, was well used to Park activities being a regular companion. "What's up, and why are you releasing Chandelure into the woods! Buzz, use what little brain power you have access to; fire plus trees equals a bad time for everyone involved," River transmitted directly to Buzz through a telepathic link they shared. The Xatu then turned to the trainer beside Buzz "Sorry, Kenzie. I'm River Tam. Nice to meet you and Lotad." Buzz rolled his eyes as he wanted to get on with it.

"Alright that's enough, River," Buzz said firmly, "it's time to get started. Now as you can see Kenzie here only has a Lotad so we don't want any really powerful Pokémon attempting to battle us. So I want you five to fan out in the woods and use your psychic abilities to prevent the more evolved forms crossing our path." The creatures before them nodded and began to spread out. "Oh and Chandelure," Buzz said as the others had got out of sight, "Keep your flames down to a minimum!"

"Ha, told you! River transmitted, as if she were right next to the trio. Buzz grumbled as the ghostly creature floated off into the trees. Buzz knew that the team complete their goal perfectly despite some of his Pokémon not having much experience with him personally.

"Right then, with that done let's get going and find you some Pokémon!" Buzz smiled and set off into the wooded path. They walked a little way and before long came across a small pond tucked away just off the track. Buzz scanned the top and spotted the water was gently rippling. He looked more closely until he spotted the blue insect-like creature jittering about the surface of the water. "Well that's not a common Pokémon, how would you feel about battling a Surskit?" Buzz asked his companion.

OOC: @Buzzer; nifty

Kenzie follows the Ranger at a leisurely pace, the lily pad Pokémon instigating him to go faster when he starts to lag behind. As the forest canopy becomes visible, the Lotad tires of riding atop its Trainer and leaps to the ground, its floral headgear slightly slowing its fall. "Well, here we are," Buzzer says, drawing his Poké Balls and releasing his team. Kenzie doesn't take notice of them, too busy craning his neck back to look up into the towering trees. That is, until the Xatu mentally speaks to him.

"Sorry, Kenzie. I'm River Tam. Nice to meet you and Lotad." Kenzie returns his gaze to the group and looks around, bewildered. "There somebody else he-" He cuts off as Lo indicates River by nodding and saying "Lo." Oh, it's a Psychic Pokémon. Hey." A small wave is given as Buzzer explains the plan, which Kenzie appears to not listen to, as his attention is drawn once again to the Woods. Lo absorbs the information instead, nodding and only frowning for a second at "only has a Lotad".

"Right then, with that done let's get going and find you some Pokémon!" Kenzie acknowledges the Ranger with an "Uh huh", still looking up into the branches of a tree, where a Pidgey sits and stares right back. The staring contest is ended when Lo draws both their attention with a "Gweh", the tiny bird giving a quizzical chirp at the nonnative Pokémon. Following his partner, Kenzie's feet kick up the leaves littering the ground, unknowingly drawing the attention of the denizens of the forest. Investigating eyes follow the group for only seconds at a time, the local Pokémon used to Rangers and their charges passing through. A group of Paras cross the path ahead of them, one pausing briefly to meet the gaze of the thinly-dressed man, who waves at the small insect and cracks a smile when it mimics the motion with a claw.

The Paras scuttles back to its group and Kenzie realizes Buzzer has stopped in front of a small pond and is pointing out a Pokémon on its surface. He only catches the end of the Ranger's question and replies "Surskit? That's a Bug Pokémon right? Uh, maybe, lemme think." Lo makes the decision for him, leaping into the pond, the Pokémon's six short legs only making the smallest of ripples. Lotad stands on the surface of the water for a second before slowly sinking down until only the lily pad on its head is left above. Kenzie squats down so that the light reflecting off the pond's surface doesn't get into his eyes. "Alright, let's try for a Surskit."

OOC: @glik; What gender for Surskit would you prefer? Also sorry its not incredibly long,

BP 1:
Buzz was pleased to hear that Kenzie was interested in Surskit. Both it and Masquerain were commonly used as support Pokémon, gaining access to the powerful move Quiver Dance as well as the ability to pass these boosts onto an ally. Beyond this Buzz hadn’t had much experience of seeing either Pokémon in action, Although it was possible that it would have an advantage with its bug type moves over Lotad.

Kenzie hadn’t lead with an attack, but surskit wasn’t going to be so leniant and took the the initiative, a silvery web shot for the bug types mouth trapping Lotad’s feet. String shot, a fairly basic move but it was an efficient way to start a battle. Lowering Lotad’s speed would make it easier to hit and its moves easier to dodge.

Surskit was still sliding atop the water, it looked eager and fit for battle. Kenzie would have to keep his wits about him in order to get Surskit down to low enough health to capture it, unfortunately it didn’t look ready to let Kenzie go and start attacking. Buzz saw a glow begin to form in front of Surskit. Multi-coloured light spread from the small blue Pokémon.

The light shaped into a call and suddenly a beam of light was fired towards Lotad. Kenzie would have to think quickly and be creative if Lotad didn’t want to be hit by the Signal Beam that was radiating b beautiful light into the normally shadow woods. Buzz could hear the scuttling of Pokémon moving away from the light and noise of the ensuing battle. Buzz hoped his Pokémon out in the wild were keeping the high powered Pokémon away.

OOC: @Buzzer; Didn't realize the pointing out counted as initiating. No real preference on gender; coin flip says female.

Kenzie is surprised by the dancing blue bug, Lotad's legs being restricted with the gooey String Shot before he can even say "Heads up!" Lo hops on the water's surface unsteadily, legs wriggling frantically against their sticky manacles. He tries to get out of the way of the already-charging Signal Beam, but the water strider easily keeps him in its sights.

Realizing Lo doesn't have a chance of dodging the attack, Kenzie calls to his partner. "Gotta block it, Lo! Nature Power up a Hydro Pump, that oughtta do it!" The lilypad Pokemon stops its slow attempt at a dodge and sinks into the water up to its eyes. A white light surrounds Lotad's form, the water around him starting to swirl, getting ready to blast forward at the incoming beam of rainbow-colored energy. What Pokemon and Trainer don't realize is that the pond is far too shallow to summon a Hydro Pump; instead, a Mud Bomb is dredged up from the bottom and launched at the light.

The Signal Beam connects with the Mud Bomb, an explosion of wet pond silt and multicolored drops of water flying everywhere. Kenzie is still confused by the Mud Bomb being called by Nature Power and doesn't react quick enough to stop himself from receiving a face full of mud. Lo takes his chance to get more distance between him and the Pond Skater Pokemon, already starting to spin and twirl as the start of a Rain Dance. However, the webbing on his legs forces him to make only shallow jumps and short turns, causing the move to take longer than it normally would.

Wiping the mud off of his face, Kenzie notices the beginning of his partner's signature support move and says "Mix in a Bubblebeam, Lo. You gotta pick up the pace!" At the apex of his next leap, the Water Weed Pokemon releases a stream of bubbles from his mouth, spinning himself around even faster. The bubbles of energy float only a little ways away, acting as small shields for the dancing Pokemon as a grey cloud cover forms overhead.

OOC: @glik; I like the idea but the ranger chooses whether things like attacks deflecting other attacks happen. Focus on describing what you want to happen, so say describe the attack and then say what you want it to do or how you want it to work. I won’t punish it too much for this run but it would be harsher on future runs in the park. I realise this is a peculiar mechanic of the Park but you will get used to leaving attacks open and still writing more anyway.

BP 2:
"Gotta block it, Lo! Nature Power up a Hydro Pump, that oughtta do it!" Kenzie called out to the small Pokémon. Nature Power was a very useful move being able to turn into different types of attack based on the environment around. While true in full water environments it was able to summon the highly powerful Hydro Pump, but as Kenzie found out in puddles all that formed was a giant ball of mud.

Surskit’s Signal Beam was still flashing across the sky, Lotad was able to release the Mud Bomb at the last moment, the two collided spattering glowing mud throughout the wooded enclave. Buzz managed to dodge on such blob of mud as it headed for him, Kenzie was not so lucky as he received a splat of mud to the face. Unfortunately it seemed that the Mud Bomb wasn’t able to fully block the entire attack as a small beam split through and waved over the struggling Lotad.

Surskit had been as unlucky as Kenzie, also being covered in the glowing Signal Beam fused Mud Bomb attack. It wouldn’t do a huge amount of damage but the mud would make it difficult for Surskit to hit Lotad accurately for the remainder of the battle. this could be key as the battle progressed.

It didn’t seem to do too much damage and it had already started to spin, performing the Rain Dance. Surskit’s webbing trapping its feet slowed the ever darkening clouds blocking out what little light was able to penetrate the tree’s canopy. Rain began to patter the ground, Buzz thought back to Chandelure who was out in the woods repelling the more powerful Pokémon and hoped it would cope in the rain. Buzz quickly checked his backpack but soon found that his Umbrella was tucked away in his desk drawer.

"Mix in a Bubblebeam, Lo. You gotta pick up the pace!" Kenzie called out, to the Water Weed Pokémon, who was still spinning and dancing darkening the clouds above summoning heavy rain. This would really help Lotad given the rain doubled its speed. Suddenly little orbs were released in the direction of Surskit, unfortunately it had no opportunity to dodge as it was still struggling to see thanks to its mud facial. The bubbles burst over it as it was dodging left and right in what looked like Agility. The bubbles interrupted the Surskit trying to boost its speed as the rain gradually grew heavier through the leaves that covered their heads.

OOC: @Buzzer; alright, what about area of effect style moves? Is it safe to assume moves used on the surroundings are going to work?

Kenzie tilts his head back, letting the rain wash off the remaining mud on his face. With the rain boosting Lo's speed, the String Shot on his feet doesn't impede his movement anymore, allowing the Pokemon to literally run circles around his opponent. His face now completely clean, Kenzie watches the two Pokemon dancing across the pond and notices the Surskit attempting to once again gain the upper hand in speed. The previous Bubblebeam hampers its efforts for now, but Kenzie knows it won't stop it from trying it again. "Head-on's not gonna work out, bud. Let's hide out in a Mist."

Lo glides to a stop on the far side of the pond from his Trainer and takes a deep breath before spewing a cloud of white at the Surskit. The lilypad Pokemon coats the area in the thick fog, obscuring everything for any caught inside it. "Don't let it figure out where you're coming from, Lo!" Kenzie calls from the other side of the wall of fog. Lo spits out a short Bubblebeam before dashing off , periodically shooting more Bubblebeams into the Mist, occasionally changing direction. After the third direction change, he fires off one last Bubblebeam before diving under the water to try and sneak up on the Bug Pokemon from below.

OOC: @glik; Again generally I would be careful of saying moves worked the way you want them to but describing how as you did here is usually ok.

BP 3:
Buzz leant against a large tree that encircled the puddle the battle was taking part in. It was an interesting battle, with lots of attacking on both sides. The trees provided minuscule coverage from the rain, but it wouldn't dampen his spirits. He was from a land prone to a huge variety in weather from hour to hour, let alone day to day.

Lotad upon Kenzie's instructions began to slowly form a Mist in the enclave. The sparse fog slowly gathered just above the ground shrouding Lotad from the Surskit. The haze grew steadily thicker until only a slight wisp could be seen as Lotad began to race around the isolated Pokémon atop the puddle. "Don't let it figure out where you're coming from, Lo!" Kenzie exclaimed to his partner as the battle excitement grew.

Buzz watched as the Surskit tried to focus in on where a sudden barrage of bubbles was coming from. It couldn't react fast enough as the onslaught of Bubblebeam attacks hit it from all directions. It was knocked off balanced and slipped to the edge of the puddle to escape the attacks. The constant attacks from all directions had hit Surskit hard, its movements were looking staggered as it hovered atop the water's surface. A faint glow as the rain pattered down onto the Pond Skater, its legs seemed to gain a little stability as the rain fell down upon it.

The stability seemed to revitalise it enough to spot the slight splash of water as Lotad slipped beneath the water of the puddle. Surskit shone red and released an arc of energy that pulsed the water. Struggle Bug wasn't a powerful attack but it was handy in a pinch and it had type advantage over Lotad, so it would take some damage even under the water. The battle was still going but Buzz was starting to wonder when Kenzie might try and capture Surskit, the last thing he would want was to take too many attacks and knock Surskit out, even with the rain providing some slight healing for the wild Pokémon.

OOC: @Buzzer; I take it that Surskit won't have its Hidden Ability if I catch it.

Kenzie begins patting his various pockets, looking for one of the Park Balls he was given earlier. "Try to keep it still, Lo. Gotta find a ball." Before the Water Weed Pokemon can respond in some way, the Surskit unleashes a Struggle Bug. The red wave of energy passes through the pond and when it strikes the underwater Pokemon, a stream of bubbles float upwards, alerting those above to the move's success. With his location now known, Lo shoots to the surface, the white aura around him indicating that a Mud Bomb is close behind. But instead of directing it at the Pond Skater, Lo aims the Ground attack off to its left followed by another off to the right, trying to keep the blue Bug penned on the edge of the water. Hopefully they would dissipate the Mist as well, so that Kenzie isn't throwing blind.

Kenzie doesn't give the moves a chance to help his visibility as, having finally located a Park Ball, he chucks it immediately at where he believes the Surskit to be. Unfortunately, his aim isn't too good and his arm is even worse; the ball ends up splashing down not even half way to its intended target. Lo looks at the failed attempt bobbing just in front of him and gives a resigned "Gweh." As Kenzie lobs another stray ball in, Lo speeds towards it and slaps it towards his opponent with his lilypad. "Nice shot," Kenzie compliments as he squints to see through the Mist and find out if his attempt was a success.

OOC: @glik; My dice are pure evil. :( One more small attack and another throw in the next post and it should be catch able the next time. As for Surskit, yes when you catch it and leave it returns to factory default if you will. It will have standard abilities and only level up moves.

BP 4:
Buzz watched as Kenzie rummaged through his backpack looking for one of the Park Balls that was included in the event deal. Lo meanwhile focused on keeping the Surskit as still as possible to help with the capture attempt. A Mud Bomb called up by Nature Power was fired off, it missed just to the left causing Surskit to shift. Then in quick succession another Mud Bomb was fired this glanced by Surskit on the right. Surskit winced as the attack brushed it but the two had the desired effect and Surskit was penned in.

Kenzie then threw the ball into the mist hoping to capture the Pond-Skater Pokémon, the ball was heading short however. Kenzie's Lotad seemed to recognise this and reacted quickly, leaping slightly to hit the ball of his sombrero like lily pad into the direction of the Surskit. The ball tapped the small creature and it was enveloped in a red light and suddenly the little capsule was on the ground. Buzz had to really squint to see it through the slowly fading mist. He saw it wobble once, twice.

Then with a pop the ball split open and Surskit reappeared upon the pond it skittered around in the rain allowing it to wash over its body providing a slight recovery. Buzz frowned, he was a little shocked that the capture had failed. Buzz spotted the Park Ball slowly sink to the bottom of the puddle, it didn't look broken, but it wouldn't be retrievable until after the battle was complete. "Kenzie you'll have to use another ball, but looks like there is still some fight in Surskit. Maybe one more attack if you make sure Lo is careful."

Sirskit suddenly turned towards the small green Pokémon and it released a array of yellow, glowing stars they hit the small Pokémon. Swift although not an very powerful attack was useful in that it was guaranteed to hit. Buzz found that he had become enthralled by the battle, not something that happened between unevolved Pokémon. Lotad and Surskit were putting all their effort into the battle and it made for an exciting sight.

OOC: @Buzzer; I'm going to have to sacrifice a goat to your dice.

Kenzie hears the ball pop open, signaling a failure, and reaches for another immediately. "Gotta get a bit closer, Lo," he tells his partner, who nods and dashes off to the left, trying to draw the Surskit's attention away from the Trainer attempting to creep closer. As they position themselves on near opposite sides of the Pond Skater, Lotad's lilypad begins to glow red and a beam of energy is shot from it, an Absorb. That would hopefully keep the Pokemon still long enough for Kenzie to actually aim this time, which he does, winding up his arm before throwing to make sure the ball gets to its target.

OOC: @glik; No sacrifice necessary.

NBP 3:
Buzz was glad to see that the initial failure hadn't put Kenzie off too much and he was still trying to capture it. Pokémon were effectively wild in the National Park so it was never as easy as going to a breeder to buy them. "Gotta get a bit closer, Lo," Kenzie called out.

The Lotad nodded and dashed off, there was a glow in the small enclave as the Lily Pad on Lotad's back shone. The beam of energy connected with the stubborn Bug type. It didn't look like an amazingly strong attack, but that was all that was necessary this late into the battle. Lotad seemed to be recovering slightly as the beam formed a connection between the two Pokémon. Grass types had many methods of draining and absorbing enemy Pokémon's health.

Kenzie took the opportunity and released another one of his Park Balls, this time however his throw was much more accurate. Once again Surskit disappeared into the Park Ball in a flash of red light. With the mist dissipated it was much easier to watch the ball shake and wobble three times, then the desired ping of a successful capture echoed slightly in the wooded enclave the battle had taken place in.

"Awesome job, Kenzie. You've caught your first Pokémon at the National Park," Buzz said happily as he stepped forward and plucked the ball off the ground. He gave it a wipe to clear off the mud that had been formed thanks to the rain and slotted it into a pocket in his backpack. "I take care of caught Pokémon until you decide you want to leave the park and then you get to choose which Pokémon you will take. This is a special run so you are only allowed to take one Pokémon from the Park but there is nothing stopping you continuing your expedition to see if there is anything else that might take your preference over Surskit"

Buzz also remembered that the was another ball sunken into the puddle, he sighed dipping his arm in and reaching for the ball. As he pulled his arm out, it was covered in muddy slime. He wasn't impressed, throwing the spare Park Ball back to Kenzie he began to wipe down his arm on his trousers.

Buzz headed back to the main route through the woods and took a look around. He saw a rustling bush about thirty metres further into the woods. Buzz walked on a little bit to get closer, it wasn't long before he got close enough to make out the spherical segments of the larva Pokémon. The poisonous stinger, while in the basic form would only be a mild irritation to humans, its fully evolved state; Beedrill, could be very dangerous.

OOC: @Buzzer; I assume this is how to say "nah, don't feel like it"

The battle over, Lo returns to his Trainer's side and allows Kenzie to remove the few remaining bits of String Shot from his multitude of feet. "Awesome job, Kenzie. You've caught your first Pokemon in the National Park," the Ranger says, to which Kenzie's only reply is "Cool." The sticky webbing now entirely gone, Kenzie starts looking around. Lo mistakes this for him searching for another Pokemon but Kenzie's simply looking at the scenery, the clouds slowly blowing away and releasing streams of light into the forest. Buzzer says something else that Kenzie doesn't catch; instead, he barely catches the muddy Park Ball that's tossed to him. He wipes it off a bit and tucks it into a pocket before following the Ranger.

Lo follows after the two, slower than when they first entered, the rain already moving on. As Buzzer stops just ahead of a bush, Kenzie looks down at his partner and notices how slow Lo is, how tired he looks. Lo perks up as soon as the Hairy Bug becomes visible through the foliage and hops forward, ready to battle again. But before he can fire off an attack, Kenzie picks him up, forcing a startled "Tad!" out of the Pokemon. While his partner's mouth is still open, Kenzie shovels some Energy Powder into it.

"Nah, buddy, you need to take a break now. We still got..." Kenzie stops, frowns and furrows his brow as he tries to remember how many encounters he's allowed on this trip. "There's still some more Pokemon we could battle." Lo grumbles but doesn't try to leap out of his Trainer's arms.

OOC: @glik; I'm assuming this meant you wanted to carry on the run just weren't interested in Weedle.

NBP 4:

Kenzie didn't seem interested in battling the bug type, which Buzz found unsurprising. Beedrill were fairly average Pokémon and not supremely powerful. This was all despite, Lotad looking eager to battle. Kenzie took the opportunity to pour the free Energy Powder that came with the expedition. It was a revitalising powder was a compound that was developed by the rangers after much painstaking research. Lotad looked fully refreshed after it had swallowed the whole pile of white powder.

Buzz moved away from the bush that contained the Weedle, it didn't seem to interested in battling either and it wiggled away deeper into the dark woods. Buzz was glad he hadn't seen sight nor sound of any high leveled Pokémon, it was clear that his Pokémon were doing their job off in the distance. The rain had dissipated and was no longer an issue, but if Lotad was to enter battle again he thought the tactic may come up again.

Buzz looked quickly on the map on his phone, it featured all the key locations of the park. He zoomed in to look at the woods, looking for somewhere else to go within the woods. It was only a few moments before he found something of interest to him.

"This way, Kenzie," Buzz said happily, "there is a cabin just off to the right." Buzz walked off and began to head down the slightly less worn path. A short way up the path Buzz spotted the log cabin tucked away in a large clearing. It was a beautifully constructed cabin, Buzz was sure it had a purpose here in the woods, but he couldn't remember it at all.

Atop the roof there was an owl perched. It gave a loud Hoot as the group approached. "Well how would you like to try battling and capturing a Hoothoot? It could make for a tough choice between Surskit when it comes time to picking which Pokémon you want to join your team."

OOC: @Buzzer; sorry for the wait

The healing powder swallowed, Kenzie releases his partner, who leaps down and bounds ahead of the pair as they continue on their way. Buzzer mentions they're headed towards a cabin, Kenzie assuming the Ranger wants to dry off after the small rainstorm. He goes back to aimlessly looking about the forest as Lo, more determined than his Trainer, looks for another battle.

As they enter the clearing, a hoot draws all of their attention to the roof of the small building and the Owl Pokemon atop it. It tilts it's head to the side and hoots again, Lo answering this time with a "Tad!" Realizing there's no chance of going inside the cabin until Lo battles the bird, Kenzie says "Alright, alright, don't go knockin down the whole house. Start off with a Bubblebeam." He hopes the bubbles in the air will keep the Hoothoot lower to the ground, closer to Lo.

OOC: @glik; Gender? Apologies for delay - I’ve been lazy.

BP 1:

"Alright, alright, don't go knockin down the whole house. Start off with a Bubblebeam," Kenzie said. Buzz smiled. It was nice to see trainers continuing after their allocated withdrawal limit. So often had trainers caught three Pokémon and then ended their expedition and missed out on high quality Pokémon.

Lotad hopped forward and as before an array of lightly glimmering bubbles were fired towards the Owl Pokémon. It appeared to be perched on one foot atop the cabin, though Buzz knew from prior research it was swiftly alternating between either foot. It's head tilted slightly as the bubbles approached, the circular, red eyes shone brightly. The bubbles struck the owl. Its feathers glistened as the water of the popped bubbles trickled down.

Hoothoot began to spin quickly, wings furiously flapping. The mud on the ground began to whirl around the psychic bird. It was the mud cloud tornado slammed hard into Kenzie’s Lotad.

Hoothoot then began to pound around working itself up into a frenzy. It was an interesting technique that raised its attacking skills and would mean Kenzie’ would have to watch out for future attacks.
