Halloween Event RP - Pt. 1 (Outside the Caves)

Know how all those old-school movies start off with kids wandering into the woods for a thrill of adventure in the season that represented the walking dead, immoral beings, and sorcerers? This wasn't one of those nights if that is what anyone had figured. Nothing is scary in the National Park or in general for Brooklyn. The red-haired girl laughed; it was a joke. Though, it was tonight that she felt her heart beat - an eerie feeling that fluttered. What she was told was how the Outer Heavens had sort of - collapsed. Something along those lines that was spread amongst the nearest place full of civilization. Everyone chattered on the recent event that had taken place in the National Park, so she had wanted to check it out herself. Why? That's something she had wanted to try to figure out in the end.


No, her outfit wasn't fit for the occasion. Her top was a long-sleeved, purple and dark gray striped top with a low, folded collar was worn with a black short skirt, a pair of matching leggings, and four inched high heel boots. Luckily, she did have four Pokemon on her. Which Pokemon should she choose? The girl's dark brown eyes glanced cautiously to the cave north of her. This was ridiculous. A laugh was let out again in humor and her own obnoxious, cocky self. "This is..." how could she put it, "ludicrous," was her statement that can best describe the environment she had entered. An eye roll later, she grabbed one of her red and white colored Poke balls, the invention that held one of her many Pokemon. "You're up Gyarados," Brooklyn said without another thought.


A long serpent appeared with that of a mouth that could release relentless power, eyes that terrified any being that walked this world, and the colors of blue and tan made up most of the body. Brooklyn had adjusted the mask and carefully got onto the water and flying (that can't actually fly) types back. "Alright Gyarados," Brooklyn murmured lowly as she wrapped her arms around his upper body. "Let's go," she whispered and with that, he headed north into the cave. Would it matter to him? No. This was a rashful Pokemon, his character made him charge in anywhere if given the option. He let out a cry that echoed into the opening of the cave. They are at least on the same brain wave with this just being an event too many people got too hyped over.

A recap on what just happened: Brooklyn had brought out her sea serpent beast Gyarados who had a mind of his own that was greatly represented throughout his characteristics. Despite being one who did not believe in the mishappenings or anything that would give her this eerie feeling, she had gotten onto her water and flying-type's back to head straight into this cave. Something just made her feel this was going to be one of those horrible mazes that people run into in the Hoenn region. How to describe the cave? It was very open, echo-y, and well - it was just dark. Pft. How could a Pokemon end up seeing them anyhow? There wasn't anything in their way and she could see it in the back her mind lay out: she goes in and out of this place safe and sound. That's when she noted that the Pokemon that claimed be oh-so rashful, decided to stop. "Right, I forgot," Brooklyn murmured lowly and placed a palm on her face, "You LIKE to hunt down other Pokemon." That was her mistake this time.

In the distance she could spot what were a pair of yellow, golden-drop eyes that pierced the darkness, although most of the fur that made out the figure of the Pokemon was completely black. A tiny Pokemon that wasn't very well distinguished. There's only one way that Brooklyn could come to gather. Gyarados, a Pokemon on the top food chain, sought to bully, petrified, eliminate, incinerate, discard, (and about twenty other synonyms) the prey that so ever dared to come in front of Gyarados path to the east (yes, she was letting Gyarados lead - her intuition wasn't that great and he had stronger intensions where to in lack-of-reason: charge forth). The Gyarados raised the upper half of his body to use the ability that he mastered since birth. His eyes competed with the golden sun drops that could steal peoples souls. He stared down the undisinguished Pokemon.

"Hey, watch it!" Brooklyn exclaimed as she tighten her grip on the Gyarados for her dear life. Gah! She growled in irritation then grabbed one of her heels that she slid off of her left foot JUST IN CASE. That is on some levels utter bull though. Her guard was caught off as she started to feel the Pokemon move his body. His body just started to move all around without actually ever attacking their foe. What was he doing!? Brooklyn grasped onto him as his body inched and then he stopped as he stared down continously at the yellow eyed figure with his red demonic ones. Then it clicked for Brooklyn. "Did you just use splash in an attempt to show off your initimidate, then not to mention an attempt to try and scare off the Pokemon!?" She cried out and rested her head against the Pokemon back with her eyes slammed shut. "Why me...? It was nice while it lasted I guess..."

Why did the Pokemon feel all of the sudden - WARM? Oh no. It wasn't planning to - was it? IT WAS. Brooklyn sat straight up. "Hey! Be careful!" Brooklyn tried to speak up, but it was sort of too late to step in and do anything. His back arched and this heat started to fulfill a glow at the mouth. Nothing bothered him - no attacks or anything. The glow had a light yellow color that surrounded the energy source and bits of white shun. Then and there a hyper beam was sent down at what Brooklyn then discovered was a Poochyena from the light. "...OK...it can't get worst..." her words were so wrong. Gyarados didn't stop there, no siree. Did the fact a prey was there really tick him off so much he had to go into dragon rage mode?! He just started moving his head in different directions with shots of this dragon fire. "This really is it...I'm dead I tell you, DEAD!" Brooklyn threw up her arms and realized her own mistake. She felt her body go ahead and fall back onto the harden ground. "Ow..." she cried down there on the hard, cold stone floor.

It took a couple seconds to recooperate herself, before Brooklyn could lift her head off the cold, hard stone floor to get a glimpse as to what was going on in the battle: Gyarados versus Poochyena. Yes, she had very well heard of the Poochyena species. How could she describe them? They were omnivores that would try to eat anything and they also had a high tendency to bite at their foe. When her vision refocused to help her see the darkness, she could see her Gyaraods with a Poochyena that had bitten him. Did it have no affect on Gyarados? Pft - how could it not? Brooklyn watched as her Pokemon started to smash his tail on the ground to try to get the Poochyena off of him. His red eyes stared down the Poochyena, as to say: 'I DUN THINK SO.'

Brooklyn brought herself back to her feet. She would have to call out an attack or something so they can get this battle over with. Gyarados will continously try and attack this Poochyena until it's dead. Why couldn't this Poochyena just be the type to get hit then run off when it noticed that his intimidate didn't work? The better part was that he at least didn't howl to call all of his friends. Gyarados could be possibly making that happen, not with just Poochyena that is. "Gyarados, use rain dance and then use aqua tail!" The rain dance will help to bring a kick to Gyarados attack or so she hoped.

Gyarados turned his head to stare back at Brooklyn then up. His body started to stand on his tail in a sense and he started to do this dance. He moved his body in a circle, which soon led to trinklets of water dropping to the ground. Brooklyn held out the palm of her hand. Oops. Her bad was that she didn't have anything to protect her or her clothes. She started to panic in her own little spot in the cave while Gyarados focused his attack on the Poochyena. He tilted back his head then a ring of water was produced that headed for Poochyena. His tail swooped over and pulled Brooklyn over. Wait? What was he doing? She stared up to see the end part of a tail that was blocking out the rain. Oooh. Awwwe. AFTER THIS BATTLE THEY WILL HEAD EAST. OH FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS, WHAT WILL HAPPEN!?

What Brooklyn saw when she peered from under the blue and white skin that made up Gyarados tail was the black furred, moon-yellow eyed, dark-typed speci called Poochyena let out a loud bark. A bark that let gave away his bluff. How thankful she was that Poochyena had then skidded away on his paws from the scene. That left the two to head onward to where ever they planned to, well, head. Whatever way they went, it had to lead them some point to an exit that will bring them to the outside land where they could see the pillars for themselves that had crumbled on top of each other. Brooklyn was hesitant to walk with the fact that the rain would not disappear for a while. She made sure to head toward their next point at a speed that matched Gyarados so she was safe under the tail Gyarados provided as an umbrella of sorts.

Wait a second. The red haired girl blinked when she felt herself pressed down on the end of the wooden stick, she stopped and her dark brown eyes glanced down to the broom stick that was on the floor. Wait...why would there be such a thing here in the caves? Was it some Park clean-up or something? It didn't look to be one of the best cleaning utensils to use in such a modern age. Then again, a Far-Fetch could have used it as a stick by mistake then realized that it wasn't a stick that he needed. Either way, maybe she should bring it wit her. Brooklyn grabbed the broom stick and carried on east

It was then that she noted her next mistake. Great. This was an unplanned run through the Park and the mistakes stacked upon themselves - over and over. When will the mistakes come to really bite her in the butt? What was this mistake? The Gyarados will continue to rampage through this cave until all the Pokemon are in KOed. Their next unlucky opponent? A swirl could be identified. It was a Pokemon species in the Poli-group. Gyarados raised the upper half of his body as he sent down an intimidate down at the Pokemon that dared to stand in his way. "Gyarados..." Brooklyn tried to speak out.

This Poliwrath could have the ability water absorb. Yes, a dragon move could be used, but that would not serve as well as Gyarados mostly dominant attacks. She had to think quick as to what to do. Her Butterfree sounded as though it would ultimately be an even better choice than this sea serpent that blindly wanted to tear everything into bits and pieces then leave the ground it stood on in blaze. "I have to try..." Brooklyn murmured lowly, her voice shaky. She grasped the Poke Ball in her hand and a red stream tried to reach Gyarados. The sea serpent detected the prescence of a red light that he immediately swooped under to avoid.

"Gyarados, return this instance!" Brooklyn yelled at the top of her lungs; damnit, she hated to yell at her Pokemon that meant the world to her. This would just make things entirely a lot worst. The blue and tan colored Gyarados released what was another Hyper Beam. Wait a second! That's it. While the Gyarados had to wait to restore his energy, she tried to return the Gyarados who would not be able to fight back as much as he had before. He let out a breath of air to relief the recent stress she had undergone. That then led to her switching Butterfree in the battle.

The indigo colored body that had ultimately the most beautiful white wings that fluttered in the air, backed off a little behind the red haired female that was her trainer. He was a timid Pokemon, something that she couldn't hold against the Butterfree. His wings curled down and he stared at the ground. Awe. At one point, he can be such a sweet thing that she wants to protect forever with all her heart, but the second point is that he has to help aid her in situations. This Tadpole speci won't go away. The added addition to having Butterfree out here by her side is it used the abiltiy compoundeyes that generally does well to aid in the long-distant attacks.

"Butterfree, I want you to use gust, OK?" Brooklyn asked and patted him on his head. Since it was a simple move that he could use, he went ahead to cautiously position himself against his opponent. His wings flapped and accelerated in speed. That caused gasps of air to meet each other then soon led to a huge gust of wind that hit everything in its path in drection toward the Poliwrath - gaining momentum while it was at it.

Brooklyn's hands threw up in the air to grab a hold of her hair. She was soaked as the rain continued to pour. This was going to be an absolute hell hole. Correction: events in this cave was making a hell hole out of her alone. Butterfree crept back a bit. The second that something will come at him, he'd dive right behind Brooklyn and attach himself to her. It would have helped him if he used whirlwind, but she would not push him to use any combinations. She knew he disliked the usage of combos and respected that.

Butterfree fluttered a little bits away up in toward the ceiling. He eyed his master worriedly, she didn't seem to enjoy the outbursts of wind that were the result of his gust attack that she had ordered him to execute. It would be no lie that she was cold, soak, and desired some form of warmth right now. The autumn weather as it was didn't do so well as the summer sun that warmed her skin. Their enemy the Poliwrath had braved the gusts from what she could see more than anything else. It did do some damage, thankfully. Now it all depended how well Butterfree could handle whatever attack this Poliwrath would counter him with. The big blue body tadpole had brought back his fist that brought out a white glow. Brooklyn tried her best to perceive the attack. If this little butterfly didn't watch it, he would be hit with a fist that packed a lot of power.

Her heart thumped deeply into the back of her mind as she kept a faithful stare on her friend. Since mega punch was a normal-type move, it won't make that much amount of damage compared to the flying type move that was super effective. Butterfree tried his best to dodge the incoming punch, but it was too quick. He fell back to the ground just like that. Brooklyn could have sworn she felt her heart miss a beat. "Butterfree, you OK?" was her question; she had to attack back and do something that could help Butterfree. Punches could do a number on Butterfree if this act of charades didn't stop or if she didn't think up a way to protect this little guy.

The butterfly related Pokemon had flapped his wings to help him get back into the air. "Work it off Butterfree, work it off," yes, that was the best they could do for now, "I know!" This sort of idea just hit Brooklyn. Yeah, they may not be able to attack with any sort of combo-type moves, but the least they can do is give Poliwrath a status problem. Butterfree could put it to sleep, poison it, or stun the big guy. "Butterfree, what do you say to a sleep powder?" Brooklyn asked her friend. He nodded his head then cautiously flew over toward their opponent. His wings continued to flap as he released these green sparkles over the Poli speci.

"That was great Butterfree," Brooklyn praised her Pokemon. He flew back to his trainer. "After we finish this battle up, we'll continue east." her dark brown eyes glanced back at the Poliwrath. "Prepare to attaack again Butterfree," she spoke and he nodded, cautiously lifting into the air for another possible flying-based attack.

Across the cave stood the dark blue, giant, circular Pokémon. His black beady eyes had changed his gaze to the green sparkles that surrounded him. That began to leave a light feeling that traveled from his head to his toes. Yes, the tough-muscled Pokémon had done all that he could to fight off the affect that sleep powder had. No, he would not let himself fall asleep – he wanted to finish this battle, to crumble that Butterfree to pieces. Poliwrath eyes gradually closed; it was obvious that his body was giving out; it started to sway as he held a persistent mentality. This was a strong Poliwrath alright, but he was going down. Then after a minute or two, his body collapsed onto the ground. Brooklyn had felt the after-shock that came from the contact of his hefty body to the ground. She stepped back a foot or two to keep the same distance she had before. What does she do now that he’s asleep? Her pearly white teeth gritted in frustration. Why couldn’t her Butterfree maybe have a couple more flying-type moves? What she didn’t want was gust to wake this big guy up and whirlwind was still out of the question to add more force to Butterfree gust attack.

Aha! The brown, dark colored eyes seemed to light up when it came to Brooklyn, what her best options were. Bug Buzz would not do as it could wake the Poliwrath. A silver wind could help however. “Butterfree, silver wind,” Brooklyn directed her butterfly specie. He complied with a nod and tried to flap his wings in direction at the Poliwrath. A silver color illuminated in the wind current brought on by Butterfree. Brooklyn had stood close to Butterfree to where the silver of the wind entangled within her much damped hair. Only much later did the wind die down to a bearable feel that then faded into the room. The result of the attack? Not that Brooklyn could tell, but when there’s water and wind, it creates a situation most would not enjoy.

Brooklyn brought her arms to herself in attempt to warm her skin. Oh no! Butterfree saw the result that happened to his trainer and started to worry. He didn't hurt her too, did he?! "I...It's OK," Brooklyn stumbled over her words. Give it a while, she'll be back to her old self in a snap. "...Maybe I should take off my clothes..." Brooklyn mumbled to herself; her fingers gripped the end of her jacket and she debated if her under clothing will be the best option as to let her other pieces of clothing dry. "Nah," she decided with a shrug, "I wouldn't want to make any guys that walk through here happy." With that she turned her attention to Butterfree. "What do you say to a Quiver Dance?" The Butterfree cocked his head to the side, then turned away. Guess that was a no. "It was worth a shot..." she murmured as her fingers played with the ends of her shirt.

Hmm. What Brookie noticed is that her eyes had adjusted quite well in this cave. That big plop of a Pokemon across from them that was a Poliwrath was still just lying down over there. What attacks could she exactly use then? Silver wind would not get them anywhere and gust does merely minimal damage. So, she decided to dig to the very back of her mind to try and recall what she learned about Pokemon back at the Pokemon Academy. This is a Poliwrath, so its types are water and fighting. The bug-type won't do so well pitting against him because it had hardly any affect. Naturally flying attacks can do a little bit more of a damage as well it's a stab move, but gust can't really provide well. Then there's the fact that Brookie was irritated from the constant wind related attacks that was giving her a bad hair day (mind you, her feet were already hell-a sore from the stilettos she was wearing) and helping to increase the chances of pneumonia (or worst: hypothermia). Fighting is weak against - oh, yeah.

Brooklyn smacked herself with the palm of her hand to her forehead. The fingers slid down in response to her agony written all over her face. Trainers would point their fingers at her and declare her to be an utter humiliation to their class. Then again, that's just HOW overreactive she can get and her excuse to act in such degrees being because of her own harmonically imbalanced woman-ness. "I had a really bad blonde moment...and I'm not even a blonde," she said and softly kick the cold ground. "I forgot that psychic type moves have an advantage over fighting." her head shook and she decided to go ahead and tell Butterfree to perform psybeam before that Poliwrath bothers to wake up. The downside would be that her eyes hurt from the peculiar ray and she has to readjust again. "Hey you, Butterfree!" Brooklyn exclaimed and snapped her head to where she stared at the blunt flying object in the air that was the butterfly looking Pokemon.

Butterfree spun around then stopped once he was face to face with his trainer. He cocked his head to the side, curious as to what it is his master wanted. Partly his expression had asked, 'who me?', which just added steam to her attitude. "Yes, you!" Brooke snapped then sighed, "Sorry." and slid to her knees. It has been a long twenty minutes. "Just, psybeam, over there..." she raised her finger to point at the darker shadowy, big, round Pokemon that was sleeping. Butterfree glided to the area where the dark blue tadpole was and tried to position himself to where he could try and send an attack at Poliwrath. A psychic colored beam had then begun to lit the room. Brooklyn stood and watched in awwe at the beautiful mechanism of colors that combined to make such a peculiar ray.

When the ray shortly crumbled in the event that it diminished and then vanished, darkness overrided the female trainer's vision. Where the heck was her Butterfree? Was that Poliwrath awake now? Or was it asleep? "Butterfree?" Brooklyn softly spoke and wondered then and there why she bothered to lower her voice to such a level. She carefully step across the stone floor then when she heard a noise, her head snapped and well, it came into contact with something hard. Her teeth gritted and she slid back to her knees. God that hurt. Brooke placed her fingers on her head that pulsed painfully from contact. Unknown to her that Butterfree was right there next to her, worrying. Brooklyn shook her head and decided to brave the possible concussion. Brookie stood back to her feet then started to walk to what she thought was north and she stepped straight into a cave wall. The girl's body fell back from the impact and lied there - semi-unconcious.

"Butterfree!" Butterfree cried and flapped his wings. He had to do something, something quick, AND SOON. No, he would not be able to drag her body to the next room east of them. What was he going to do now?! His head turned to stare at the Poliwrath. In case of the event that they have to move on, he would have to drag her. Then he'll have to hope that there's another Pokemon in her bag that can help. He wasn't too sure all of whom Brooklyn had brought with her. Such Pokemon as Gyarados would not be the best choice. It brought chills to him whenever he's in the same room as the sea serpent.
